Tripping so close to the finish couldn't be good. Grumbling Basil moved towards the finish once more.

 Falcon knew he was fast, this was the time to show it. He lined up and crouched low and trying to use his nails to catch the ground allowing himself a better start. If everything went well, he could show off his speed and hopefully be known as the fastest in the warren. Once the start signal was given he took off with all the strength he could muster.

Getting worried now as there was still a wall of fur in front and to the sides of him and he was pretty sure he could see the black tips of Crow's ears above the mass. The large buck did stand out a bit, didn't he?

That was a great start, not perfect but he needed to keep focus and push as hard as he could. This was a short distance, leave nothing left after its over.

It felt like he used a bit too much strength on that take off, he was moving fast but not as fast as he wanted. So he tried to crouch to see if he could move faster if he was lower.

There! A break in the crowd!
Bursting through the opening, Cocao finally made some headway, but there was Crow! Was it too little too late? He scrambled towards the male, hoping he could muster a little speed at the very end.

He felt like he was moving faster but it wasn't enough, he wanted to get out front of everyone. Crouching didn't really help that much, he wasn't sure what he had to do to make his legs move faster. He just had to force them to move faster.

Not a very graceful start... though he was glad to see he wasn't the only one. He prepared himself mentally and attempted to pick up speed. 2/10
