While it was true Tegi wasn’t the image of bravery at the moment he hated to being called out on his fear. I’m not crying though! he thought stubbornly, atleast… not now… was I before? Before any snide remarks could escape his lips a sharp reply jolted him back to reality. He jumped slightly at the suddenness of the interjection, but it effectively switched his attention to what Retra had to say. Seems like she has the same idea here. His concentration began to waver until the undertaker spoke up. That’s the biggest crock of s**t I’ve ever heard he thought with an annoyed huff. He’d remembered scissortail running through to escape, intervening to save Amelia when the undertaker had suddenly switched targets, and Retra jumping in when he was about to be struck. Nothing about that seemed to mesh with what he was saying. “That’s not how I remember it,” he chirped, “maybe that blow to the head your talking about knocked a few screws loose.” Convinced that Retra could handle things he scanned the room once more, eyes widening as they setteled on the doctor that was near the other undertaker. It didn't take long at all for Tegi to regress to a lump under the sheets. After briefly staying silent he regained composure and spoke up. “I have a bad habit of sticking my neck out for people…I thought the fight looked pretty one sided so I stepped in.”

Retra Smith

Retra listened to the Undertaker as he gave her his explanation for what happened in the court yard. When he was done, a cruel smile appeared on her lips " Don't you lie to me," she said. " The girl must've attacked you for a reason. I won't be surprised if you were the cause for the whole incident," She leaned forward in her bed, some of her hair covered half of her face "Heh, and by the way, flattery will you get you no where, sweet heart. Its going to take more than sweet talk and a note for me to trust anything you say,"

She looked up at the Undertaker cloaked in black. She silently listened to his question. Still smiling that smile she replied " You want to know how we ended up like this ? Well, your friend here did a real number on us earlier. We had no choice, but, to defend our selves when he started attacking us out of the blue ...". The smile disappeared as she glanced away " However, he did save my life. I nearly bleed to death, but, he offered me help. He could've just let me die, but, he didn't,"

She looked back at the other Undertaker " Thanks for that by the way,"

Would you like to return the favor then? *pulls out a switch blade and holds it out to retra* do whatever you please *he stares at her not tense at all but staring at her encouragingly* I wont fight back the slightest, unless you take my life.... *the switch blade pops out revealing a long and very sharp blade, he flips it so the handle is facing her*

Retra Smith

A look of disbelief appeared on her face as the Undertaker offered her the switch blade. She stared at him for a while then at the switch blade's hilt. He can't be serious she thought. Retra reached for the weapon's hilt as she brushed her hair behind her ear. With the weapon now in her hands she stares at it, mesmerized. Its been so long since I held a real knife she trembled slightly as she mindlessly stroked the blade. She looked back up at the Undertaker with a small smile " You're crazy. How can you, an Undertaker, allow me to do this ? I'm a Deadman and a murderer, for goodness sake, " she leaned forward and placed the tip of the knife's blade in the middle of his chest. She continued to look at him " Also, how would letting me cut you up again be returning the favor ? "

User Image Undertaker - Kaida Matsuki
Kaida stood silently, looking between Tegi and Retra, then at the other Undertaker, some annoying guy named Hiroki. He opened his mouth to speak, but closed it without saying a word, a light pained look on his face. He looked back at basket of tangerines he placed on the table, clenching his fists tightly. 'Why did i buy these in the first place... all it does is remind me of...' He walked over towards the table, picking up the basket and heading towards the closest window, opening it up widely and tossing the basket out before slamming the window closed and turning around, the look on his face was as if nothing happened. "You there." He called out towards the other undertaker, "What are you playing at?" He asked in a slight demanding tone, "I haven't been here very long but I've been here long enough to know that most of us don't try to befriend inmates unless we're using them for our own goals."

Retra Smith

Retra glanced at the young Undertaker as he stated his question. Befriend inmates only to use them, huh ? Why am I not surprised. She with drew the blade's tip from the Undertaker's chest. She then laid back in her bed and waited to hear his explanation. The switch blade laid in her lap as she stroke the blade once more Why can't I make up my mind ? One minute I'm close to trusting the guy then the next I decide I don't trust him. Judging from what the young Undertaker said this b*****d is possibly just messing with me. He's only trying to gain my trust just to achieve some devious motive. Still stroking the blade she glanced up at the Undertaker in question.

Tegi listened in silence under the covers. With how the conversation was going he didn’t but in, or rather couldn’t since the undertaker was too focused on Retra to listen to his witty remarks anyways. Instead he started messing with the ivs, and eventually, after discovering his other hand was useless and couldn’t grasp them, he began to test just how much he could move at the moment. If they weren’t going to pay attention to him he surely wasn’t going to sit back and relax. I have to try to get out of here… I have to… huh? He listsened to what the undertaker said, but as he turned back to what he was doing he noticed the blood going up the iv from his arm. Wow, thanks to your stupid logic now I know that I’m not completely down, he thought with a smirk. But before anymore thought was put into it something else weighed on his ears. Wait, what did he mean by reminds him of? It seemed that the cloaked undertaker had something behind him, something interesting and, likely, well worth hearing. As he was contemplating how to find out and what it could be a loud slam made him jump. This again? When Tegi freaked out hypersensitivity was a usual occurrence, but loud sounds were horrid. His younger self linked loud sounds with bad consequences, and when he felt vunerable it seemed that the reaction came back as if it never left.

But it sure did redirect his attention. Everything that came out of the cloaked man’s mouth was a reideration of his thoughts. Thinking it a bit safer, he poked out from under the sheets and looked at what was going on. The undertaker’s question remained unanswered and all attention seemed to be placed on the other. Retra, who was stroking a knife that was upon her lap, seemed the most interested to know. Well I guess that’s the way it should be since she’s the one back and forth on trusting him…. But looking back at the cloaked man brought a more curious question to mind. “Does that include yourself?” He muttered in an absent tone. After realizing he said it out loud he looked down momentarily, then back up. “Ah, I mean you don’t seem like you’re in for anything.” He hinted at his own collar as he spoke. Now I really wanna know this guy’s story.

*he looks down at the knife by his chest, not a ounce of regret or fear in his eyes, the he heard the other undertaker ask his question, then he heard retras question, he hated it, everybody is punching back down everytime he tries to play nice* payback for me cutting you.. *he thinks back to the time in the orphanage everyone put him down there too, one time in particular* just like the orphanage.... *he whispers quietly and then looks at the other undertaker* I'm not using anyone, if I wanted something from someone I could easily get it, but this is not the case *after a moment of silence he looks to retra with the blade* too short a blade? Would you like my sword instead? *gently and slowly unsheathes one of his black blades*

Retra Smith

Retra listened to what the Undertaker had to say. She stared at him for a while when he finished talking Heh, for some strange reason I actually believe he's telling the truth... he seems to have a bit of an interesting past too ... an Orphanage, huh ? She looked down at the switch blade in her hands, then gave a small laugh Eh, what the hell, I guess I can risk trusting him. With the switch blade in hand, she held it up, tossed it into the air and caught it by its hilt " No, this blade will do just fine. I would really love to try out that beautiful black sword of yours, but, I'm still a bit weak thanks to my ... current condition," She leaned forward again and, this time, placed the tip of the knife's blade in the middle of the Undertaker's neck. " But, that doesn't mean I'm unable to use a knife. If you're true to your word about not fighting back, I'll know that I can trust you, " She focused her gaze on the knife's blade. Then, suddenly, she tilted her head to the side and asked curiously " You were ... an orphan ? "

User Image Undertaker - Kaida Matsuki
Kaida was peering intently at the other undertaker, Hiroki. 'I can tell already I don't like this guy...' He thought to himself softly. In Kaida's opinion the guy seemed way to desperate with trying to win the girl, Retra's trust. Kaida raised an eyebrow at the guy, "Why are you so bent out of shape over this girl?" He asked, "If you're hoping for a relationship with her then you're biting off more than you can chew." He motioned back to the two deadmen behind him, "From the way I see it these people will never trust people like ourselves." Kaida stood there, silent and motionless for a bit, then heard the boy Tegi's question, 'Does that include yourself?' Kaida glanced back at Tegi, "I'm not like people like him." He replied, pointing his thumb over his shoulder at Hiroki. "Unlike him and the other Undertakers I'm not a criminal." He reached up to his neck, pulling down on the top of his shirt so they can see his neck, "No collar. I'm not a prisoner here, just someone hired to do a job... and misinformed what the job would entitle until the last minute."

*he sheaths his blade and just after she said no he feels the cold blade on his neck then another question came and his whole demeanor changes, he nervous, very in fact, he averts his gaze from her eyes, that answers her question, if she finds out this would of all been for nothing, not going to lose her* I.....

Retra Smith

Retra twitched when she heard what the young Undertaker said. She again pulled the blade away from the other Undertaker when she saw him act differently from before. Great, I was willing to put my trust in this guy too. I was hoping to have an advantage of befriending an Undertaker. Could've been useful, but, I'm not willing to risk to trust someone who has a criminal past I don't know about. She sighed and closed the knife. She placed it on the side of her bed " What a fool I am, " she whispered as she crossed her arms and laid back on her pillow. She looked at the young Undertaker " What the hell are the officials here thinking ?! Hiring criminals to over see criminals ? I'm mean this place is shady enough with the Carnival Corpse fights and the Deadmen, " she said, confused. " Also, how the heck were you given this job if you don't have a criminal record yourself ? " she asked. My God, my head is so full of questions now.

She glanced back at the now nervous Undertaker " He has a point. Why are you so desperate on me trusting you ? ... Can you just clear things up, please. I'm going crazy on deciding whether to trust you or not. No doubt, from anyone else's point of view, I'm crazy to even try to trust you after the crap you put me and Tegi through. But, I might over look that if I get to know you better ... and based on how bad your crimes were, " She waited to hear his answer. Mine and Tegi's crimes are, in a way, understandable, but, am I willing to over look his crime ?

User Image Undertaker - Kaida Matsuki
Kaida had his hands deep inside the side pockets of his black jacket, looking at the guy Hiroki coldly. 'I read a few of my... colleagues records when I joined...' He thought to himself softly, 'That man... 45 dead and mentally controlled 15 women (I read the profile). I can't stand people like him...' He added internally, "It's because of people like you that she died..." He found himself speaking up softly, referring to an old... friend of his. He wasn't going to go and tell the others what the guy did, it's not his place to do so. Kaida heard Retra speak about the officials and other things, "Officials...?" He asked softly, the only one he really met was the promoter, he was the one who set Kaida up for this job. "What the hell is a "Carnival Corpse"?" He asked in a clueless tone; he hasn't been here long enough to see one happen. "Sounds like some kind of sick game." He added softly. His attention perked up a bit when she asked how he got the job. "I do have a criminal record... sort of." His mind drifted off a bit, back to several years before, "It was a one time thing long ago, and it was revenge, not murder." That's the way he sees it, "I was never arrested for it, and it was completely justified. As for how I got this job, I was originally a guard here, and after almost a year I was offered something... larger. I was told it was because I had strong physical qualifications and that the pay would be bigger, but the inmates would be... stranger." Kaida clenched his fists tightly inside his pockets, anger not showing on his face but it was present in him as he pulled out a hand full of cast point cards, slamming them down on the counter right beside him. "What I wasn't told (besides many other things) was this is what I'll be paid in. Which are only valid in Deadman Wonderland."

15 burned, 5 decapitated, 5 insanity suicide, 10 bled to death and 10 pierced. 15 controlled. *he looks at the other undertaker* 15 that were in government facilities that I would of burned down or targeted. All of which had to take... persuading to get *he doesn't mention a certain detail about his victims, he turns and looks at retra* what now? Are you going to turn me away just like everyone else?

Well that’s shitty luck Tegi thought as he stifled a yawn. And he said I seemed interesting, there has to be something more. Sure enough half of his question was answered as the man continued to talk, with little pieces of information peeking through his conversation. Though he was happy that his hunch was correct with the other undertaker, Tegi was more focused on solving the cloaked figure, putting what little was given together. So someone who meant something to him died… I know what that’s like… he frowned. He flinched again as the cards were slammed down and his thoughts were recentered. He didn’t quite understand why it was a big issue, but supposed not everything was available through the prison. The way he saw it it wasn’t that bad. It wasn’t like undertakers had to go through deadly trials to earn points let alone survive. “You’re lucky you’re on that side, it is a cruel game… ah, but you said you didn’t know about that…” He thought about it momentarily, scratching at scars on his shoulder while trying to decide just how to describe things. “To put it simply we’re forced to fight each other. The winner gets a prize and the loser gets a body part removed… well, if they survive at all that’s what happens… and if they do have something removed it’s usually done as painfully as possible…" he stated in an increasingly somber tone. Sometimes it would be someone Tegi didn’t know, but other times it wouldn’t be that fortunate. Facing someone he associated with was a struggle in itself.
