The female couldn't help but chuckle silently at Amun's clumsy performance, but rushed to the male's side to help him clean up.
"Good thing there's this pond here, so we can wash it off your fur.. you'll get all sticky otherwise", she remarked, stepping down to the water's edge to see how cold it was.
"It's a little chilly, but not freezing.." she observed, splashing some water around playfully. It had been a while since she'd come across something like this.

Amun blushed as she chuckled and hurried over at her comment about getting sticky. He jumped into the water, splashing Esha as he did so. He used his paw to try and get the rest of the peach guts off of his head. He did not want to have sticky fur!

Esha tried her best to shield her hair from getting wet when Amun jumped into the pond without warning. "Do you want help with that?" she asked him as he started cleaning himself. "Sweet things can leave a sticky feeling as they dry.. the scent is lovely but having sticky fur isn't", she remarked somewhat amused, stepping into the water as well.

"S-sure," Amun mumbled, the slight chill settling in. He nodded his agreement about the stickiness, though it took a minute for the smell to reach his nose from underneath the wet fur smell he had now. He looked up at the tree and the heart-shaped fruit hanging from it. "What are those?"
(( Yup. 8D I hope I get Ace's babies soon so they can frolic and wreak havoc together. ))

((Indeed. :B I hope Kiku's not uber busy so these two could have babbins soon..))
The female waded up to her companion, helping him rinse the rest of the peach pulp and juices out of his fur, all the while smiling softly at him.
"Oh, those? They're called peaches.. they're really sweet and juicy - one of my favorite fruits", she told Amun. It was a shame they didn't bear fruit all year round - she could've eaten them every day. Cherries too, even with their annoying pits.
"I think you're clean now, let's dry off so we don't catch colds.." she then stated, climbing out of the water and shaking herself as dry as she could. Indeed, it was already past swimming season.. the water was perfect for drinking, but too cold to swim in.

"And messy," Amun added. At her suggestion, he nodded and headed for the water's edge, shaking off the water the best he could before looking up at the peach tree. After a few moments' thought, he flew up and grabbed a branch in his teeth, carefully breaking it off. He carried it--and the peaches attached to it--down to Esha. Although his landing was wobbly, he managed to stay upright and protect the fruit from meeting the fate of the first.

"Well, that too I guess, if you manage to drop or squish one", she replied in an amused manner.
When he flew up to grab one of the branches, she couldn't help but watch in awe. Flying was one thing she hadn't had many chances to teach him about, and it was much more difficult when you were carrying something. When he landed without falling over, she felt the need to applaud him.
"That was amazing! I'm sorry I haven't given you more flying lessons, but you did great just now!" she praised him, walking up to the male.

Amun blushed at her flattering compliments but his tag wagged happily behind him. He shuffled over to her side, holding the branch up in a silent offering of its fruit.

The female gratefully picked a few peaches off the branch he held, smiling at Amun. "Thank you, it was very sweet of you to pick these for us", she added, waiting for him to pick out some fruit for himself as well before touching hers.
Her stomach grumbled again, but luckily more quietly this time around. She noted that lately, she was getting hungry more often than usual.. maybe it was because it was getting closer to winter? They didn't hibernate, but regardless winter was much colder in Flyterion and food would be a little harder to find during the coldest months.

Amun's whole demeanor lit up at her thanks and compliment. He carefully set the branch down before selecting a peach of his own to eat. He chuckled as Esha's stomach growled again. "It loud today," he teased lightly before munching on his peach. Esha had been right; it was very sweet and juicy. He enjoyed the change from the often tart berries.

She blushed in embarrassment as Amun brought up the indecent noises her stomach was making. She had hoped he didn't hear, that time! "I don't know if it's the seasons changing, or what.. but it seems that lately my body has been wanting more food than usual", she told him meekly as they began their meal.
Then she realized that Amun had never really seen winter yet. It was summer when he arrived, and now it was slowly transitioning into fall. Occasionally the glade got some snow as well in winter, but thankfully it was nowhere as bad as the nearby mountains, which seemed to be freezing cold all year round.

Amun listened to her meek reply, frowning as he inspected her. "You don't look ill or anything of the sort..." Still, something was different. He thought for a few moments. "Maybe we should go back so you can rest some more," he suggested, nuzzling Esha gently. "Your body might be trying to keep you from overexerting yourself or getting sick." That was what his mind was coming up with. Whether that was the real reason or not, his instinct was insisting that Esha needed food and rest.

She tried to shake her head in protest, but knew the male was hard to convince otherwise when he'd decided on something. The female sighed silently and finished off her fruit, and finally nodded at her mate. "I don't feel ill.. but I guess it's easier to catch a cold or something of the sort when the weather cools", she pondered.
"I'd love to stay out some longer, but if you believe it's best to return, we should do so", she added, smiling sheepishly. "I want to watch the stars for a while, at least.."

Amun listened to her words carefully. Eventually his expression softened. "Alright..." Stargazing wasn't strenuous or anything. She could rest while they watched. "But then you rest," he added, nudging Esha gently. He didn't want anything to happen to her...

Esha continued to smile meekly as she stood up, picking up one more peach to carry back to the den with her, should she feel hungry again before morning. "I'll take this with me so in case I get hungry again tonight you won't have to worry", she explained, taking a few small steps in the direction they originally came from, waiting for Amun to decide whether he wanted to bring some food back as well or not.
"I'm not really tired or anything right now, but I guess it is better to be safe than sorry", she continued, not wanting to argue with Amun. "It's sweet how you dote on me sometimes though", the female added with a small grin.
