Rei turned on his back hoof towards the sound of the hoof beats and the voice, putting himself between Melody and the intruders. His ears pinned back and nostrils flared as he outstretched his wings, making himself as big as he possibly could. "Stay behind me Mel." He told her protectively.

Mona, Kristo, Kai, and Kamryn were deep in the desert, walking along a canyon. All were tired, and exhausted, but Mona kept insisting that they move on. ""Ryn? Do you see that?" She asked upon sight of the big male with wings. "Hello!? She called.
Kai wheeled in front of the female. "Stay here.. he could be a Six.." he said, his eyes showing he would not budge. Kailyn had taken the lead on this journey, as he knew where they were going. He looked at all the members of their little 'herd' as if telling them to stay as he turned and trotted cautiously up to the male, stopping a few yards off. "Uhm.. hello, Friend.. Sorry to... disrupt your day.. My name is Kailyn. My comrades and I are looking for a female named Melody? Perhaps you've heard of her?" He asked warily.
Melody stayed hidden behind Rei, but at the sound of her name she popped out from behind his wings. "That would be me..." she said softly.

Kamryn and Kristo nodded at each other and they both stepped into line beside Mona, one on each side, almost sandwiching her.
Andreios narrowed his eyes at the male, "What do you seek her for?" He asked them, still making sure Mel was behind him.

Kailyn bowed his head in respect to the bigger male. "Uhm.. I have... Mona and Kamryn with me.. They... wanted to find their mother..." he said softly, his golden eyes flicking towards teh female.
Mona squirmed her way away from her brother and Kristo as she rushed over to Kai's side to get a better view of the female. "Melody? Uhm.. I'm.. I'm Mona.."
Melody blinked at the full grown female that appeared before her. It was... almost like looking in a pool of still water.. "You.. have my face..." Was all she could get out.

Kristo sighed as Mona pushed her way through.
Kamryn also took steps forward, standing on the other side of his sister. "Melody, our father does not know that we are here. My sister, Mona, wanted to meet you though."
Rei sighed and lowered his wings and perked his ears up, still making sure to stay in front of Melody though. Three males and one female was enough to put him on edge.

Melody could feel Andreios tense beside her. She leaned into his strength. "It is okay, Rei.. I promise..." Her eyes turned towards Kamryn. He was beautiful, just like his father. "How.. how did you find me?" She asked...
Mona sighed at the lack of.. welcome her mother and this male showed.. "I remembered a canyon.. Kailyn helped us find it.. in turn finding you..." She answered. Her soft eyes then turned accusing. "Why did you abandon us? Why did you left dad bring us so far away from you? Didn't you want us? Or.. were we just... expendable... useless.. garbage that you didn't care to keep?" She asked venomously.
Kailyn kept his eyes on the larger male, sensing a bigger threat from him than the female, though Mona was... pushing it.

Kristo shook his head. He knew it would be bad when Mona finally met her mother.
Rei shook his head as the female, Mel's daughter, accused her of so many things and he found himself becoming enraged. But he forced that anger down and stared at the female. "Child. You do not know anything about the circumstances of your birth nor anything about your parents relationship. Might I ask that you speak respectfully to your mother especially when you are demanding answers." He kept his voice calm and even. Even he wanted to hear this.
Kamryn narrowed his eyes at his sister. "Although my sister can be a bit rude, I do believe we deserve these answers, and why you ask us how we found you like you didn't want to be found. And why didn't you come find us?" His voice was as calm as Rei's, but held a little bit of anger in it.

Mona glared at the male, her chest puffing up angrily. "And who are you to get into matters that are not your own?! We deserve these answers. I grew up.. My father wasn't even around while we were growing! We were raised by his Chosen! And I know the circumstances of my birth. We were told many times.. What I want to know, is why she would just let him take us like that." Mona growled out, her beautiful eyes hardened into colorful pebbles as she stared down the male. Her front hoof burrowed into the ground, leaving a long trail in her agitation.
Kailyn stepped forward, willing to jump in if he needed to.
"Well... I.. uhm..." She stammered, looking from Kamryn to Mona to Rei. "Rei.. calm down.. please?" She asked softly as she slightly stepped in front of him. "I understand your frustration, Mona.. please give me a bit to adjust? I didn't want to be found... That is true, Kamryn... As to why I let Damir take you... I.. I am not.. not suitable to be a.. mother..." Her usually melodic voice stammered out, the musical quality slightly leaving.

Andreios flicked his tail in agitation as he turned. "I will be over here Melody if you need me." He said as he turned to walk to the canyon side, looking out into the sky, he took flight, hovering for just a moment before gaining height and circling around the group.
Kamryn just seemed to be getting angrier and angrier. "If you aren't suitable to be a mother then maybe you should have never become one." He spat.

Melody dipped her head. "You are right. I shouldn't have... But that is the past and it cannot be changed... If it could it would mean you two would not exist.. Is that what you want?" The female asked, her eyes going up to the sky to watch Rei circle around.
Kailyn backed up, keeping his eyes on the male.
Mona sighed, leaning back into her brother. "This was a mistake.." She said turning around sadly, her tail flicking as she began walking back the way they had came.

Kamryn stood there stubbornly. "No Mona. We came all this way. We will get your answers." he told his sister as he stared down the mare.
Kristo blocked Mona's way, "Wait..." He told her softly.

Mona turned around and glared at Melody. "Its not even worth it. She's too daft to.. live..." She growled out.
Melody looked at the supposed daughter of hers in shock. "Now wait a moment!" She whinnied out, marching up to Mona and facing her. "You have no idea what kind of person I am. You have no idea what I have been through, what I am like. You have no right to judge me."
Mona's blue eyes flared. "No right?! Where were you when I started to talk? Certainly not with me! Kristo was there! Where were you when I finally took my first steps. Not here! Where were you when I started racing? Not with me!" Mona growled out, headbutting the other female back aggressively. "It was a mistake coming out here." She turned her back on the mare and pushed her way through the males. "Lets go."
Melody sighed and shook her head sadly. Her assumptions were right.. she wasn't fit to be a mother.
Kailyn followed close behind Mona, not wanting to leave her alone with the male circling overhead.

Rei, sensing Melody's distress, landed some ways behind her and walked up. "Mel...it will take her awhile to understand. It's her disappointment, that all her wild hopes and dreams weren't true. In her mind, she had made you out to be a super hero of some sort....and it was a let down that you're just an ordinary azrein, one that makes mistakes." He tried comforting her.
Kristo cringed as he was brought into the situation and after she started walking away, he turned and followed, knowing Kamryn would follow shortly.
Kamryn sat and watched the whole thing. "I do not think you are unfit to be a mother. I think you don't know how. Mona had been so excited to meet you, but then she realized that you really did abandon us. You know, it makes me wonder if you even love us at all. Surely if you loved someone you would fight for them, you would try to find them. Cecelia did that for my dad. Cecelia did that for us when she found out we were missing and she isn't even our mother! I really think you need to prioritize your life Ma'am. I think Mona needs you in her life. But I surely don't." He finished as he turned on his heel and started walking away, exhaling the breath he had held throughout his speech.

Melody sighed and leaned against Rei, watching the younger ones leave. "The sad part is.. that they're both right... I could have fought for them.. and... I don't know if I love them..." She looked away in shame.
Mona waited til she got farther off before turning to Kailyn, Kristo, and Ryn. "Kristo.. I know you want to go with your brother.. so you two just go..." She said, not looking at them. "I need to be alone..." She added looking at her brother, hoping he got her point as she turned and left the three of them behind.
Kailyn shrugged. "Let's go Kristo.." He said, flicking his tail.
