Shun cursed lowly as he tried to get out of the freezing water. Still holding onto the snake, he kept listening while keeping his eye closed. He was getting really cold, by the way. Walking around while soaked from icy water was not fun.
Not that he really thought anything was fun in the first place.

Shun fell into a hole on his first step. It had been a dry dirt hole.. until Shun slid into it. Now it was a wet, muddy hole.
When he climbed out of the wet, muddy hole, he was immediately greeted with a swipe from a clawed hand, barely cutting into his clothes. Something angry was growling at him, stopping him from taking another step.

Levi found her way into another hole. She just kept finding all the holes and getting right into them. Upon climbing back out of the damp spot, Levi's fur stood on end with the growl sounding so close she could nearly feel the breath of whatever it was on her.
Further away, she heard water and felt her way over there.

And now Shun was very dirty. Twitching a bit, he felt something graze against his clothing. A swipe of sorts. It wasn't a snake, that was for certain. Gripping onto his new found whip, he thrashed it at where he heard the growls.

The creature was not expecting a whip to smack against it, and it howled in dismay.

The howl gave him another way to pinpoint where the creature was. Shun pulled the snake back then whipped it out once more.

Surprise! The howl was a misdirection technique - whatever Shun was fighting was smarter than he might have thought. It was throwing it's voice, so that Shun would expect it to be where it was not. And now that the reaper had his back turned, it would strike!

Shun cursed lowly as he hit nothing that time around, only to feel a set of claws at his backside. Quickly, he kicked out behind him, hoping to catch whatever it was while it was still close.

The creature was little, and round, as Shun caught it in his hands. Claws, and teeth.. was catching it really your best idea?

Levi maintained a relatively safe, problem free walk until she reached the end, and decided to pause for a moment. In another hole. (-5HP)

Shun let out a huff after throwing the critter down. Shaking his head to himself, he continued to walk. This time though, he used the snake to try and feel the ground before him before stepping
