“How sure are you that I'm not forcing this smile and conversation though, Miss Trensay?” he responded with a devious smile. He was a mischievous guy and found more fun in having people second-guess themselves. It started when he was little and just seemed to develop over time. Something just about anyone really knew was that he had no guilty conscience whatsoever. Everything else, people questioned it's genuity.

“You're a smart girl, but you've made some bad decisions in the past. I wouldn't put it past you to know a genuine happiness. Unfortunately, you're wrong. I haven't given a real smile in years whether it be devious or cheerful or simply sinister. All of these expressions I've given to anyone here - confusion, playful, sweet, bored, irritated... - It's all just a façade I've put forwards so as not to hurt anyone's fragile feelings,” the male snickered lightly while changing his expressions as fluidly as he spoke before returning to his mischievous appearance she'd been with for the past twenty minutes. His expression then became hollow, void of any signs of his thoughts or feelings.

“My emotions and thoughts are my own. I don't need things like sympathy and I don't sympathize with others. It's just how I am... Trusting others with my inner self will only lead to betrayal and I won't allow anyone to betray me,” he stated as hollowly as his expression. After having given her the opportunity to see the real mask people would have to break through to get him to open up, he returned to playing as mischievous as before. He wished anyone luck on figuring out the real him behind the façade and mask.

“You just told me,” he hummed lightly in response to her first question. He then started lightly drawing a figure 8 into the back of the chair he was sitting in backwards. People aren't as mean and cruel as he thought? She couldn't really tell what he thought. Then came up the question that made his insides freeze although he remained unfazed on the outside, his finger still making that pattern into the back of his chair.

“Maybe I was. Maybe I wasn't~ I don't know... It's been a long time since I took that risk. I might've even forgot how to put my trust in another person,” he murmured softly in response to her second question with his eyes closed. It saddened him to think he couldn't trust his own eyes from showing how much she'd unnerved him with such a simple question, but he didn't want to take that chance of feeling vulnerable. Vulnerability was not an option.

“I did too answer. I said that I don't know. It's been a while since I've put my trust in anyone. What would it take for you to trust me?” he murmured while letting his golden-red eyes flicker open. He gazed at her for a moment before glancing down at his hand still making the figure eight on the back of his chair.

“Why would you even want me to put my trust in you? I'm just some guy you just met,” he smiled in a mischievous manner while keeping his gaze on his fingers. There was already a light engraving of a sideways eight on the back of the chair from his nail cutting into it.
