While she didn't want to get eaten Elleth still needed to regain her honor after the sheer terror one of these dragons had put her through. Glancing at Samril she saw that while he was tired still, he looked like he'd at least caught his second wind, and hopefully would aid her in combat. Carefully she inched closer to the dragon, making sure her clothing wasn't going to give her away by catching onto anything.
Looking back at the Dovaa she jerked her head in the direction of the giant beast and made a 'come on!' motion with her hand. They were going to see if they'd learned anything from the other with their sparring match just prior.
With a grin that was just shy of looking more like a grimace, Elleth darted forward, breaking cover and startling the dragon into rearing up. By this time one hand had already snaked out and just managed to land a blow against a scale covered wing joint as the beast came back down. A sickening crack could be heard as she popped it out of place, followed by a groan of pain as the Oblivionite was smacked away.
Elleth tumbled into the stream where she came up sputtering and looking far less intimidating with her clothing now sticking to her.

Well, it seemed she was quite eager indeed to fight the dragon. Samril was only a few seconds behind Elleth in running forward. He circled a bit, coming at the dragon from the side as it turned to face his new partner. He struck at the already injured wing joint, causing the dragon to roar out in pain. Having already knocked the Oblivionite away, it turned to face this new opponent. Samril ducked, stomping on a foot, which the dragon kicked in response and sent the boy sailing, landing in a rather large bush.

Elleth wiped water out of her eyes and heard Samril's landing, wincing as it must have hurt. Looking up the girl squeaked and barely managed to get away as the dragon turned its attention to her. It seemed to be hissing something and a faint feeling of power building let her know that it was probably going to unleash some of its magic upon them.
Elleth couldn't let that happen and so darted forward as fast as she could with wet robes slowing her down. She struck at the dragons front leg, dodging the retaliating attack and somehow managed to get herself stuck. It seemed that one of the dragons spikes had punctured one of her sleeves and no amount of tugging could loosen it.
Well, she might be dragon food now, but at least she'd managed to interrupt the things spell.

The bush wasn't exactly the softest of landings, but Samril brushed aside the small cuts and scrapes as he saw Elleth darting forward again. He'd felt the spell building as well but now it seemed to have stopped. With the dragon distracted once again by Elleth, the Dovaa boy ran forward, leaves still stuck in his hair.
Dodging the lashing tail, Samril darted towards the dragon's hindquarters. If he and Elleth stayed on opposite sides, the dragon would have a hard time against them! Samril stomped down on a hind leg, climbing up to keep out of the dragon's tail's reach.
Carefully, he started making his way up the dragon's spine. Perhaps he could somehow blind the dragon by covering its eyes?

When the dragon jerked to one side, tail lashing Elleth didn't know what had happened but counted herself lucky as the attention slid off of her for a moment. The loud ripping sound as her sleeve was ripped off the dragons spike however, brought the attention back. Adrenaline gave her the speed she needed to backpedal out of reach of those snapping jaws and after a moment of sheer blind luck, Elleth lashed out with a palm strike to the nose.
Eww gross! Her hand was in the dragons nose! Looking a little sick Elleth looked at her hand, covered with a layer of blood. The dragon looked just as startled before it let out a squeal of pain and the attacks renewed. The dark girl just prayed whatever Samril was doing was going to give her a breather soon, or he'd be the only one left to deal the finishing blow.

Climbing up the dragon's spine was not easy, but Samril moved as quickly as he could. As he reached the base of the neck, the dragon gave a screech. What had happened?! All he could see was green scale before him, with bits of forest on either side. With a shrug, he carefully made his way along the neck, grabbing the tendrils at the dragon's skull.
The poor dragon reared its head, squealing once again. Its head turned and turned about, trying to reach the pesky thing holding on.
All plans went out the metaphorical window when that started. Samril just clung on, hoping that the movement would stop soon. If not, he might lose his hold and go flying once more...

Why was she fighting a dragon bare handed again? Oh yes, because she was too young and too inexperienced to weild a weapon as dangerous as the one she longed for. She might trip and cut her head off. As if tripping with a blade was the least of her worries. Elleth ducked under a clawed swipe as the dragons head started to toss around.
Looking up the Oblivionite could barely make out Samril's form as he clung to the beasts neck. if she didn't do something fast he was going to get tossed off and snapped up. But this was the perfect opportinuty. With the Ysail's attention focused elsewhere she could attack its underbelly and throat.
She quickly stepped up to its throat and lashed out with a series of quick handed palm strikes at the scales covering its throat. if she could pound away long enough she could damage its ability to breath and from there, well, she just hoped that they'd kill it before its death throws got them.

The poor dragon. It wanted so badly to snap at the thing attacking its neck, but the thing on its head just would not let go!! Irritation at the Oblivionite won out and the Ysali snaked its head down to snap at Elleth.
The movement caused Samril to flip over the dragon's head, his grip still intact. The dragon gave a screeching cry of pain as one of the Dovaa's booted feet smacked it dab in the eye. Now half-blinded, the dragon was furious. It hurt, it could barely see, there was a thing on its head, and it was bruised up and down its throat!
Wheezing for breath, the dragon tried to spread its wings, but the damage to one wing joint from earlier would not allow escape through the air.
Meanwhile, Samril had figured out what had happened and, riding out the frantic movements of the dragon, tried to wiggle his way to fully blind the beast. He dared not let go with either hand, so he was having to move slowly and hope that the dragon was distracted enough to keep from noticing...

Samril was in danger! She'd seen him flip over the dragons head, nailing it in the eye with his boots while clinging to the tendrils that sprouted up around the dragons skull. While she mentally applauded him for being creative she deducted points for putting himself into an easy spot to get eaten. Not that she wasn't in a good snacking range either. Her momentary distraction slowed her movements just enough that the dragon was able to score at hit against her with its flailing, sending her sprawling a few feet away.
The Oblivionite found it hard to get to her feet again, her limbs aching with a pain she'd never felt before. She'd managed to push herself beyond the normal point of exhaustion. But now was not the time to give in to her bodies demands, and with a weak war cry Elleth launched herself back into the fray. "Hurry up Samril!" She yelled, fists leaving bloody marks against the dragons scales. She could swear that she was starting to smell something burning...

Samril could only see the sky above and had no idea what was happening below. All he knew was that he needed to get to that other eye and GET DOWN FROM HERE! He heard Elleth's yell, which let him know she was still alive at least. And not too hurt, he hoped. He was tired and very eager to finish off this dragon and take a long long nap!
The Dovaa finally wiggled his way to the other side of the dragon's head and, after a couple of misses, managed to strike the dragon in the other eye. The beast hissed in anger and shook its head, nearly throwing Samril off. As it was, the dragon lowered its head to paw at the annoying thing and knocked the boy off, tumbling a short distance after he hit the ground.
Wincing as more bruises popped up all over, Samril slowly got to his feet. This dragon was almost a goner!

Elleth didn't catch the moment when Samril was thrown off the dragon, only that it had given her the best opportunity to attack as it pawed at its eyes. "Haaaa..." She breathed, breath coming out in little wheezing pants and her arms felt like jelly. A new searing pain distracted her from the fog that was starting to cover her mind, clearing it as she looked down in disbelief. Her arm was elbow deep in the dragons throat. The tough scales had finally succumbed to the repeated abuse and finally given way, just enough for her hand to plow through the delicate skin underneath. The pain was from the scales that hadn't broken away, which had torn through her arm just as easily as her fingers had punctured the soft tissue.
Quickly she pulled her arm out and jumped backwards, feet slipping on the ground as she landed, turning what should have been a well executed retreat into a graceless fall. The dragon had frozen for a heartbeat, then it let out a gurgling wail, blood bubbling from the fresh wound. It thrashed once before collapsing, its sightless eyes pointed in their direction, as if rightly accusing them for its death as it finally began to smoulder.

Samril saw Elleth's hand go through and collapsed like the dragon did, panting. He was so glad that that was over. He could barely move and lying right here sounded like a very good idea.... as did a nap!
The dragon turned quickly to bone, leaving behind two soul orbs for the victors. But Samril decided he'd get his in a minute or two. First he needed to catch his breath. Oh how he was going to be bruised tomorrow!
"That... was tough!" He declared, lying on his back in the grass. "Good job!"

With a groan Elleth flopped onto her back, missing the effects of the dragons death that reduced it to clean picked bones. The soul orbs glinted like two eyes at her as she rolled onto her side. "That...that was..." She replied, voice sounding as lifeless as she felt. "I don't...think I can make it home tonight." She moaned, curling up into a fetal position, "I hurt too much."
Her wounds throbbed in time with her heart, a sensation that was barely felt over the creeping numbness in her limbs. "I feel like I could sleep for a million years." She declared suddenly, voice muffled by her knees.

Samril gave a soft chuckle. "I know the feeling," he stated wholeheartedly. He let out a long sigh as he relaxed sore and aching muscles. He was tired and thirsty and too tired to even crawl over to the stream which was why they'd found this dragon in the first place.

Elleth wasn't sure how long she laid there, only that it was hard not to sucumb to her bodies demand for sleep. Instead she reflected on the battles and what went in her favor as well as not. The dragons demise surprised her. It was like her mother had said, that eventually everything gives under pressure. It seemed that Dragon scale was no different.
With a jaw cracking yawn Elleth finally dreged up enough energy to uncurl and stand, though her knees were shaky and the world spun. She'd lost quite a bit of blood before the cut on her arm had clotted. Gingerly she tottered over to the stream and squatted down, wincing as her knees popped. The cold water felt good against her hands as she drank from her cupped palms. She didn't care about the dirt and blood (both her own and the dragons) that she consumed. She'd deal with any illness later, she was far too interested in quenching her thirst.
"Samril, you better get up, it's starting to get dark and I don't want to be here when night fully settles." She called now carefully washing and examining the cut on her forearm that she was sure would scar.
