(1x Sand Rat, 2x Edible Rock)
With one hand full of rock and one hand full of rat, Jove frowned. He wasn't sure if those rocks were as edible as they smelled, so he put one in his mouth. It didn't smell... harmful. And it didn't taste harmful. He finally glanced at the list he had shoved into his pocket. Edible rocks? Rocks? Really? He sat down in the sand, still holding the rat by the tail.
At first the rock in his mouth didn't taste like much of anything, but as he sucked on it and pondered the situation, it began to taste salty. And minerally. And in a way, it reminded him of the bark he sometimes chewed, the stuff his caretaker told him was good if he had nothing to eat. His ears swivelled forwards and he dug out another couple rocks to shove in his pocket alongside the small scrap of paper.
With that done, he trotted back to the instructor with the rat in hand, and stones in pockets. He shoved it all into the small hollow, sorta trapping the wriggling critter in with the rocks, and then trotted off to his next training session.

"Alright dollface, have at it, some real ********' haute cuisine," he muttered scornfully at the pile of rags, squeezing his cape out into a shallow bowl and dropping the rocks from his pocket onto the rat.
Weirdos.

almost immediately after picking up the second rock, she spotted thorny vines a bit away that matched one of the other items on her list. She grinned slightly and pulled some off, feeling rather proud of herself for being able to gather all of the ingredients she needed.
She went back to Dharu and gave her a polite bow. "I have collected ingredients as requested," she said, then tucked them into the sandy cavern where she had seen other students place their items, in a neat pile separate from the others. She looked around and spotted Mitzi waving, and gave the Reaper ghoul a polite smile and a return wave as she walked over to her. The two of them left together, to return to the dorms.

how nice, a cave, finally, a place where Valentino couldn't destroy the walls with a sneeze. That conquest class had been all but been a disaster, parts of the shredded dorm still clung to his coat. Hopefully this class would be better.
Looking at the other students, to see what they were doing, Valentino was almost too late to realize that he was supposed to be gathering items from the list the teacher had given him. That ghoul had more bones than skin.
Taking his walk to the close oais, Valentino scooped down and picked up some Very Angry Salamanders. They were less than pleased, but Valentino couldn't wait to add them his collection.

After the Salamanders had made their grievances known, Valentino squashed their petition and diplomat, they would stay mad. Turning away from the oasis, Valentino went to the next item that was on his list. There by the rocks Wasteland Flowers could be found.
Slowly, but with the swagger of a boil who knew his way around flowers, Valentino picked the most wrenched flowers he could find on rocks. They would go well with Salamanders.

Creeping Spines? Where would a boil find creeping spines? It wasn't fair for a creeper to creep upon plants and their creepy spines. But a list was a list, there was no getting over that.
With a sigh of resignation, Valentino took his last five steps, five steps towards those poor creeping spines. On the first step he wondered why he was doing this, on the second he understood the importance lists were. On the third step, there was no longer and doubt in his mind, he would obey the list. When he took the fourth, the salamanders, who were still mad, began to comprise against Valentino. When the fifth step was taken, the salamanders had been subdued through the use of sleeper agents.
Finally, with a slightly delicate pick, Valentino had all three ingredients.

[Entering day 2]
The desert seemed strangely quiet, still. It was unnerving, as if that quiet held some unseen secret, and unknown danger hidden far beneath the surface. He'd almost liked it better when the wind was rushing across the desert sands, almost, or maybe not.
He was surprised to see how much the land had already changed, the crater that had seemed a valley the day before seeming like nothing more than a shallow indentation, as if being consumed by the desert.
If he hadn't followed the same path, he'd have thought they were in a different location than the day before. Actually, thinking about it he wasn't sure that he had. He wondered this further when he found no trace of the small 'cave' or the ingredients he had left within. Were they not meant to leave their ingredients there after all?
Huh? His head turned with a quizzical gaze, blinking as he watched the horsewoman, and perhaps more notably the sled she had brought with her. Were those cookies? He liked cookies, if they learned to make cookies this was going to be a good class!
Wait, what? Blink, blink. Having been previously occupied with the idea of cookies, Sheridan was startled to suddenly find two objects thrust into his hands. He looked at them curiously, noting how very different the two items were. One looked like the beak of a small bird, the other...a tuft of some sort of hair or fur. Did he really want to know what this was or where it had come from?
But what did these have to do with cookies? And what was he supposed to do with them? He looked from the instructor, then to the shelves she had indicated. Oh, wait, was that his name on one of those shelves? Hey, those were the ingredients he had found yesterday! So...they just put these things on the shelves with the others? Okay...
The items placed on his shelf with the others, Sheridan retrieved a cookie before giving the instructor another curious glance. That was it? Really? There wasn't something else they were supposed to do?

Luidaeg walked to the crater where their class had been yesterday, dismayed to find that overnight it had been mostly buried. At least the dratted wind had stopped, he didn't think his skin could take much more of that, at least not without a chance to recuperate in between. He looked around for their instructor, unable to find even a hint of a rag pile. He looked up at the approaching clanswoman. Perhaps they were switching instructors for the second day? When she spoke, he knew that, despite appearances, this was their instructor from yesterday. He was surprised, to say the least, at her, uh, attire. Surprised and more than a bit embarrassed. He took the ingredients and cookie handed to him politely, looking intently at some point over her shoulder so he did not have to meet her eyes or... other areas. He nibbled on the cookie, giving it far more attention than even such a tasty cookie required. He looked at his ingredients with dismay. Sand? Maybe it was special sand, like the edible rocks some students had gathered yesterday. He peered at the odd little creatures that had accompanied Dharu, and then the hairs that were to be his final ingredient. He sniffed them. Smelled like hair. With a hint of dry and sand. At least the stuff yesterday had seemed vaguely edible. He eyed another student's scorpion sting. He wondered if it were poisonous. Maybe he could trade his sand for one of those, or a beak.

Lucinda watched quietly, she had her ingredient in the bag still. The rats were still squeaking inside, trying to escape. She eyed the cookies with a bit of suspicion and decided on not trying one, she wasn't very hungry after all. It was time to get more ingredients, the Scorpion sting was the first thing that turned up. Lucinda opened the bag she had made quickly and dropped her new ingredients inside, making sure nothing fell out or escaped.

Holly had gotten to class on time. And waited.
And waited.
Waited some more.
Before the teacher finally arrived. Well it didn't appear to be her at first but it was. Huh. The ghoul looked from the sleds to the teacher, then back and forth while she was talking. Seriously, was that it?
Was this suppose to be easy. Now true they didn't know what they were going to be doing with this all exactly but this was much easier compared to having to fight for ones life like her last class.
Holly ate a cookie while deciding on two more ingredients to pick. Then she shrugged to herself. "How much more fun could this get." She picked sand. Yes. Sand, it was everywhere but there was more stacked on the sled so heck, why not. Heck, why not make this more interesting too. She picked some of the beaks as well. Holly added this to her self once she found it.

Umi walked into the outside like classroom and started to look around for her ingredients from the other day. She started to panic not seeing them and hoped she didn't have to go exploring for new ingredients. When she saw the instructor come in with a wagon and she saw that her ingredients were there and safe she sighed. She started to look around for extra ingredients: Quote: 3: Pygmy Desert Bird Beak (+4) Pile o' beaks here! 4: Scorpion Sting (-6) These are actually quite similar in appearance to the beaks, but they are darker and lack nostrils. feeling statisfied with what she found she putted with her ingredients from day one. If it wasn't one thing, it was another. Qlue was finding herself more and more unbalanced by the Horsemen lands the longer she stayed in them. She opened her mouth, then closed it as Dharu made a second appearance. Automatically her hands came up to grab hold of the items, the astrosphinx blinking and staring down at what she held numbly. Quote: 4: Scorpion Sting (-6) These are actually quite similar in appearance to the beaks, but they are darker and lack nostrils. 2: Eyebrow Hair of the Giant Albino Skink (-4) These hairs have been plucked directly from the animals Dharu brought with her! How resourceful! Qlue actually brightened at the scorpion stinger. Wicked.(( Ingredients: Sand Rat, Edible Rocks, Wasteland Flowers ))

Another day, another class. Alex trudged slowly behind his classmates, hands shoved into his pockets, eyes flicking along the landscape set before him. The blast of heat that had hit him upon leaving the caves was not quite so shocking as it had been the day before, but that didn't make it any less uncomfortable for the boil, who much preferred the cold. Just like the day before, he struggled through the sand as it rolled beneath his feet, forever making him fight for his balance. If there was anybody in this class that he knew well enough, he might have asked for a hand, a shoulder to lean against so that he wouldn't be making himself look like such a fool, barely able to walk through this barren plane of sand.
One notable difference today, and one that Alex was grateful for, was that it was no nearly as windy. No, in fact, it did not really appear to be windy at all. There was no sand being whipped up into his face, no deafening howling in his ears. The land was still, and quiet, and if it hadn't been so jack blasted hot, it might have even been pleasant.
Upon finally arriving to what Alex could only assume was the place that they had held class the day before, the zomboil was greeted with a somewhat surprising sight. The pit that they had all assembled in yesterday was gone, the only sign of it ever having been there a dip in the sand that could barely be called anything more then a faint indentation. Alex blinked a few times, mouth set in a straight line. Had they lost all of the materials that they had stored there? He hoped not, as that seemed rather counter-productive, and he did not wish to have to spend another class searching for ingredients that did not make any sense (like edible jacking rocks).
The morning stretched on, the other students milled about, confused, frustrated, anxious to get this class over with (well, at least, that's how Alex was feeling at the moment). Eventually, the zomboil collapsed in the sand, legs sprawled out before him, and just when he was considering getting back up and heading indoors, the teacher finally came.
At first, he had no idea that this was the same woman from yesterday This horsewoman was scantily clad, her skin laid bare for all the world to see, and not a tattered rag to be found. It was hard to notice anything but her, though eventually Alex's eyes wandered to the sleds that were being pulled by two strange creatures. Were those...spookies stacked on one of them? Alex sniffed at the air, testing the aroma. Yep, definitely spookies. He wrinkled his nose, making a small face. Was that what they were going to be making? Seriously? Dear jack in hell, he hoped not!
The teacher was speaking, and objects suddenly being thrust into Alex's hands. He fumbled at them before gripping them tight, lifting it up to have a look at what he held.
Two jars of sand.
That was pretty much as ridiculous as the edible rocks he had found the day before.
Shaking his head in bewilderment, he suddenly realized that some students were stacking these items on some shelves that were on another sledge. Ah, so that's where the ingredients from the day before had gone! Alex shuffled over, eager to get rid of his newly acquired jars of sand, and get himself back inside. He didn't want to sit around and visit, not after waiting outside all day long, and he most definitely did not want a spookie.
Unless it was a spookie made entirely of meat....
But no, he had had enough of this heat, and enough of the hot sand beneath his feet. He was going back inside.
Ingredients acquired on day 2: 2 X Sand Ingredients from day 1: Murky Water, Edible Rocks, Angry Salamanders.

Angenora had returned to the second day of class. She was unsure of where he bag had gone from the day before. She gave a light sigh before she noticed a strange horsewoman appear with sleds. There were some spookies! She knew that she would have to get at least a few for her and her best friend, Sheridan. She noticed that there was her bag! And in a nice little shelf too. She was given two more ingredients to put into her bag. She was handed some eyebrow hair and a scorpion sting. She was unsure of what these would be used for, but she didn't really care too much on the thought. She placed them inside of her bag then skipped off to find her friend.
