Forever alone. The slimer’s glow grew fainter and his colors became more transparent the farther he was from the caverns. He was running through the thick fog, barely seeing anything from hand’s reach, but he eventually stopped. He broke down with tears running down his cheek. He sobbed. And as he clutched his chest, he found some glimmer of hope. He pushed down on one knee, and stumbled towards her, cutting through the fog with his arms so he wouldn’t lose sight of her. “Holly…. they got her, Circe is dead.”

Noises, more bangs and zaps. Hunters? This wasn't good at all. Holly kept silently during all the talking, taking in what she could. One still had one of those painful looking zappers.
Her teammates were struggling. The ropes were loose! Maybe she could break free. For a few tense moments Holly fiddled with her ropes and from her awesomeness. Now for the escape.

Had she had breath, she would have been holding it while she ran. Some how, thank Jack, she made it outside. Holly turned to see if her teammates had made it. The fog was so thick that she couldn't see a thing though. Well. Crap. Where would she go now?

Zurine felt a small glimmer of hope as Arel stopped and seemed on the verge of asking for an explanation - that was good right? It would give them time to explain what had happened to them, time to assure these survivors that they were really on their side. She opened her mouth to answer and try to explain more but before she even got the chance chaos burst forth around them, several loud noises and shaking ground..was it an explosion? It kind of sounded like one and suddenly everyone was scattering, she could vaguely see their forms as they rushed about in the gloom and someone shouted something about hunters.
Straining against the ropes and chains that held her Zurine yelled at the vanishing survivors "Wait! NO ! You can't leave us here!" Though her protests seemed to be in vain because no one came back to let them loose..her struggles however seemed to have loosened her own ropes a small bit and when the dust finally settled Zurines worst fears were confirmed..they had been left, and by the wreckage around them it wasn't in a good situation.
And then out of the gloom two more figures appeared both wearing white coats with some sort of golden insignia on them..the hunters the survivors had shouted about earlier? Zurine vaguely recalled some rumors and information of them from her time at school though she hadn't really seen them for herself all that much. They were dangerous..and that really all she needed to know at the moment and she was wise enough to remain silent and try to keep them from focusing on her alone for the time being.
Before the one called Ben and the other one who seemed to have some sort of authority could get very far in this interrogation they kept hinting at they were called away by something else and left them with some peons. Peons with a chip on their shoulders apparently and she eyed the weapon they were threatening her with warily. Her ropes were coming loose, perhaps loosing their power..if she could just keep them distracted a little bit longer maybe, just maybe she could manage to get out of this somehow. She couldn't really see the condition of her teammates and her attention was quite focused on the current threat. "Well..uh..well what do you want to know exactly?" She asked as the man threatened her..perhaps if she could keep them talking, feed them some useless information or just keep them going in circles she could keep working on her ropes.

That early loosening of the ropes seemed to be about as far as she could manage right now - then again it was hard to really work at them with the man leaning over her in such a menacing fashion, if she jerked at them too much then they would surely notice...no despite the rather desperate situation it was probably best to try and do this slowly.
It didn't seem like she was making much progress at the moment and so she just kept staring at the man and babbling endlessly in the hopes that he would keep his attention o. her words and not her hands. "I mean everything is a really large area to cover..it would probably help if you narrowed your questions down a bit, or gave us a starting point". When the mans partners raised an objection about what he was doing Zurine took that opportunity to give a good jerk on the ropes.

That Last quick jerk seemed to have done a good job and when the guards were distracted by a few commotions off to the side she gave a few more jerks and suddenly Zurine felt her bonds give way, rolling off the table on the opposite side of the threatening man she made a break for the doorway, A quick glance let her know the fate of he teammates..Circe was laying on the ground and she wasn't moving..a strong part of Zurine wanted to run and check on her but the guards were between her and the other ghoul and something about the way she was laying lead Zurine to believe that doing so would be a pointless sacrifice. She couldn't do anything to help the other ghoul now..El and Holly however were no where to be seen perhaps they had managed to escape in the confusion earlier?
Without taking any more time to try and figure out the situation Zurine bolted, the guards were shouting something behind her but she wasn't about to stop and try to figure out what they were saying.

Perhaps it was her feral instincts, those sub conscious survival guides that her parents had always been talking about back home with the Padfoot pack..or maybe it was just luck but either way Zurine managed to outdistance and loose the guards who were pursuing her. A few times she heard sounds ahead of her and veered off through connecting tunnels in order to avoid them, she had no idea where she was going but anywhere had to be better then being stuck in that room on those tables with those Hunters.
Gradually she noted a lightening ahead of her and presently rushed out into freedom, or at least out of the place she'd been held, the fog was still hideously thick and it was impossible to see who or what might be around her, suddenly wary of being caught again Zurine paused beside a large rock and crouched down to try and get her bearings. "Holly...El?" She called out softly into the fog in the hopes of finding her teammates though her large white ears remained on alert for any sounds which might indicate that she had been found by a less then friendly person. Slowly she crept forward moving through the fog in the hopes of finding her friends.

They were free. They were free.
They had nowhere to go. They were free, and alone.
And from the veil, from the mass of white, solid white, it heard the students' thoughts, their pleas, their insecurities, and begin to shift once more. At first, it was a subtle change in the environment, the fog thinning, everything growing clear for a second.
For a second longer, the students could see clearly the extent of the damage of what was once Amityville, of Halloween, of what was their old home. Nothing remained in one piece, everything barren, lifeless, the bare skeleton, semblance of the world it had been.
Then for one last second, as they truly grasped the feeling of emptiness, of despair, it formed together, coiled together, this time not a creature but a figure the bare outlines of a figure, a familiar outline, a pair of strong hands beckoning them. It was-
Home.
They went home together. OOC YOUR STUDENT IS NOW DEAD. Please feel free to post a reaction post/ death solo as you wish!

Zurine, El, they both made it. Circe was lost though. This was terrible. What about all of her other friends to? Were they all just gone.
...
Again?
"Now what." It wasn't a question really. More of the fact that she had no idea where to go. The fog was so thick that she kept lossing site of her teammates.
There was just a moment where Holly could see clearly. What in Jack's name... No, not good. The destruction. The death. Death. Holly grasped for her team mates but couldn't find Zurine or El. There was something else though. She felt okay. The ghoul had died before right? And the island.... this wasn't like this.
This felt like home.

It was all a blur.
His eyes were saturated with tears. Its form was present, but the colors, or the normal physiology of an eye were absent. He literally had no hold of himself as he grew green and translucent, a slimer in his natural form, yet sobbing. The world was obscure to him, even when the fog cleared to show what his world has become; barren.
He was still reeling from the loss of someone he had gotten close to only for the last few days. He rarely had gotten close to anyone. The slimer had always been busy, fixated, with paintings and portraits, depictions of life, yet he had lived none of them. He had always lived through them, but being through this experience was a curse, and maybe a blessing.
He began to understand what it felt like to have a good friend. This loss meant that he was whole before; he knew that before all of this, that he was indeed alive.
Compared to the wasteland before him, he was alive. He felt warmth, he felt some kind of reassurance. Now that he knew death, he knew what being alive meant.
This feeling of self-realization made El Greco feel like he was home.

Zurine's feeling of joy and triumph at having bested the guards and getting free of what she now thought of as the torture room were short lived at best - for one thing the knowledge of Circe's demise at the hands of those heathens weighted heavily on the padfoot's mind, that it might have been the commotion caused by her failed escape attempt that let her loosen her own bonds and gain freedom was a thought that caused a cold fist of guilt to form in her stomach.
But as terrible as that thought was in and of itself it paled in comparison to the feeling of utter desolation that was beginning to creep into her mind as she wandered aimlessly through the fog. A few times she thought she caught glimpses of her fellow teammates through the swirling mist but there was never any answer to her low calls and they always disappeared almost as quickly as she spotted them, after a while Zurine was convinced that she was seeing things and was indeed...alone.
It was a chilling and terrible thought for a person who had not only grown up in a pack..but whose main joy in life seemed to stem from the company of others. The thought was so terrible that Zurine simply couldn't handle thinking it and mentally turned away to convince herself otherwise, surely beyond this unnatural fog she would find the others..she just had to keep going.
And then the fog - as though sensing her thoughts began to thin and clear but the vision it showed her was hardly one of comfort..instead it seemed to confirm the very worst thing that Zurine could imagine..empty,barren desolation for as far as her eyes could see. No movement, no people...just herself and her wandering teammates whom for a brief second she was convinced she saw. There was nowhere for them to go, there was no home, no school, no friends..no family...no future. It was almost crushing this realization and Zurine no longer had the will to try and keep moving forward, what was the point of living when there was no one to live with?
Sinking to her knees the Padfoot sobbed, her blonde hair and tattered clothing a testament to the long journey that had brought her to this realization. She barely noticed the hands that formed out of the fog until they beckoned and caressed her with the promise of home. Home was gone and Zurine was sure the hands held only an empty promise but it was a promise none the less and what was the point in resisting? Succumbing to the will of the hands Zurine let them carry her...home.
