Well if that was the argument, and with the reminder that the zombies did not require sleep, there was really no reason to call her back now. Alexander might have been teasing him, but the weremantis was seriously debating all of this. "No, I would very much enjoy spending time with you, if she is willing to wait that long."
Well, at least Alexander would be getting money for his food soon. And perhaps a cleaner room in the process. Even if it would mean that Yin would have to manage something with money. That surely could be considered math homework, and that part of it he was very much not looking forward to. "I am not "putting up" with you Alexander," he said, slightly exasperated when the zomboil mentioned that. "I enjoy the time that is spent with you. If anything one could argue that you are putting up with me with all of the questions that you must answer for me. I am lucky to have you."
The monster dormitory was beginning to come into sight when Alexander asked about reading. Honestly...Yin had rather hoped to avoid it, though he knew that was not a real option. "I believe I have two or three pages left in this chapter," he said slowly, trying to recall where he was. "I should probably be able to manage that on my own, unless you would like to assist me? Then perhaps you could read something to me? I enjoy listening to you." And stealing glances at him when he read. Yin tried to follow along part of the time, but the zomboil was simply to fast. But there was something fascinating about watching his face as he read over something, particularly things that amused him.

Alex could see that Yin was seriously debating it, and that just made it all the more amusing. One day maybe he could attempt to clue in the weremantis on the finer aspects of teasing and sarcasm. But for now? Well, it wasn't hurting either of them, so why mess with it. "She will." He said, simply but reassuringly.
The next thing Yin had to say made the zomboils smile soften, "Well, that's convenient since I enjoy my time spent with you as well. And I'm only happy to answer any questions you might have. And..." he paused for a second while he let Yin continue on about the reading he did or did not have to do.
"And I enjoy reading to you." He finished, reaching out an arm to loop around Yin's shoulders. Fei batted at Alex's hand, and the zomboil lifted his hand a little to scratch the vaisel behind his ears.
It wasn't long after that they were making their way through the monster dorms. Alex let his arm slide away from Yin, and watched with mild exasperation as the other boil insisted on opening the door, even laden down with books and vaisel as he was. Once in Yin's room, Fei hopped down to immediately seek out Lady Terror for some play time, and Alex took his books from Yin to put them in their specially designated spot. He'd then sit on the bed and help Yin with his reading, then retrieve 'Scary Potter' to begin reading to the other boil as well, when he was ready for it. Once the other boil was ready to sleep, Alex slipped out into the hallway to call his mother again, but made sure to walk far enough away that Yin wouldn't be able to hear the convo, before slipping quietly back into the room, reading a book for half of the night and then sliding on to the bed next to Yin for the other half for his pretend sleep.
