Finally up ahead through the swirling fog... there, the next flag! Mitzi reached out to grab it, and was once again startled by her lepus scampering out to take it. At least this time, he went back into her bag like she wanted him to.

OPEN RACE COURSE
And yet again Mitzi and her mount found themselves on a damaged part of the path... she didn't seem to be doing well avoiding those this time. She must have worn her steed out too much with her earlier mistaken paths, as when he made one of the jumps, he stumbled and fell. The surefooted goat managed to catch himself just below, but it had been enough to send the Reaper flying. She lay on the path until someone came to get her, a pain when she breathed warning that she may have broken a rib.
She was lucky that the infirmary was happy to help her, and could heal her up for the next race. As the man there pointed out, they'd been dealing with a lot worse, so a broken rib was no problem.

THE WATER LAKE
Rain decided to try the Water Lake course again. Wasn't there a saying that if at first you don't succeed, try until you die? Wasting no time, she ran down the pier and dived into the the water, almost oblivious to the hail that was pounding down all around her. She had no problem finding the flag and moving on to the next area since she knew this area of the lake really well.

THE WATER LAKE
Now came the part she really hated. Once again, she found herself trying to weave the basket together and every time she came close to getting it to stay in one piece, it broke apart. One time she was sure it would stay, but then a hail ball dropped in the water and broke it apart. That's when Rain really started taking notice of the weather and that even under the water, she was not safe from the hail. They say ignorance is bliss because once she was aware of the little balls of ice, it seemed each one managed to plunk her on the head. The first few times it didn't bother her but after a few minutes, it was starting to hurt -- and that was saying something for a zombie!

The hail was proving far too great of a force to be reckoned with and soon, Rain's basket was as beaten as she. A part of her knew that further attempts were futile but she wasn't ready to give up. Not just yet. Perseverance was not new to her, or her kind, even as coagulated blood began to ooze out of a few knots on her head.

THE WATER LAKE
Rain decided to give it one more attempt. She tried desperately to weave a basket together under the water, all while getting pelted by the hail. Her fingers were getting numb and it was hard to concentrate with the pounding of balls on her head. While she didn't worry about getting hurt usually, head wounds were really dangerous for a zombie. It was her one way ticket to nowhere, to endsville, to her final death. The stress of that became too much and she swam back to the surface. Hopefully her team mates would understand her failure. Surely her unlife mattered more than.. a basket.. and a trial right? Somehow.. she doubted that.
