Aurian followed up her critical attack, creating a strong combo. The smile on her face wasn't her usual beam, but a coldly pleased expression as Aurian settled into her 'Reaper mode'. All that mattered right now was killing this thing.

Mai was just.. exhausted. She watched Aurian and Vaith using their flashy weapons and sighed inwardly. Too bad she didn't have anything to use to attack this damn thing properly. Instead, she slid out her hairsticks and began to poke rather uselessly at it.
"We have to take this thing down!" she called, frustrated at her last few attacks. "We can still do it!" And she believed they could. If they were lucky.
Above them all, the bird-that-wasn't presided over their battle with a cold gleam in its eyes. It wasn't afraid. Somehow that managed to give her heart.

Another serious wound against the tentacle rounded off Aurian's combo. Not bad, she thought to herself as she paused. Okay, so she was out of breath and needed to stop now. But that had been a pretty awesome finish.
Now it was all down to Vaith, Lacie and Night.
