It actually pained him to see her retreat, he could actually feel her pain at having 'offended him' when in truth he didn't feel that offended, he simply didn't know how to accept it, touch like that was something that happened to him every day, while she was obviously used to it. "Please.... " He didn't know what he wanted to say and instead ended up grimacing as he looked away from her... he should have simply left while he had the chance, how could he have lingered and hurt her? He had never wanted to hurt her... maybe he was worst than those skinwalkers she feared so much? His brows furrowed together as he forced himself to look at her, he lowered his head; "I sorry." he didn't know what else to do or say. He was completely lost. he had no idea at all....

Heze looked at him and shook her head curles bouncing all over with the venimence of her denial. "No... you did nothing wrong.... I did..." Biting her lip, her instinct was to be close and hug him to make amends but that was what had caused this. What she wanted was far too selfish to ask for, but it was on the tip of her tongue, it would be too easy to ask him to stay... tell me your ways... Yes all to easy to ask that and all too selfish, he had done so much already and she had done nothing to deserve it. Looking at him, her eyes sorry and confused, having hoped to make a friend and instead she seemed to have driven her new friend away.

Haki couldn't look at her as she spoke again, things were spiralling out of control... he could tell she was holding back her true nature because she didn't want to offend him, and he didn't know how to tell her that she hadn't.... perhaps he should try to explain? But how would that go exactly? 'I'm not used to touch'.... 'oh, I am so sorry'... 'please don't be you simply caught me off guard'... 'but I am so sorry' and then tears? Yeah that would just make it worst, especially since they were still not exactly speaking the same language.
Sighing and taking a deep breath he turned to look at her, she seemed so sad, and it was almost as if the joy had been sapped straight out of her... how could he have allowed that? How could he have let such a bright living star stop sparkling? Part of him wanted to try and be so easy with touch as her, but he couldn't bring himself to walk towards her and hold her... even a brief nuzzle. Frustration bubbled within him and he wanted to slamp his hooves and legs into the ground and scream... unable to he sighed, he would not upset her more than he already had.
Remaining silent for a while longer he took a moment to just look at her, really look at her. Her curls, her markings, her eyes. "Mimi sina maneno. Mimi Namwomba Mungu upendeleo ngozi sahihi lakini ...." (I do not have the words. I would grant you proper skin privileges but....) He cursed under his breath, he had never had this much trouble around a mare before... of course he had always spoke the same language before, and even had the same traditions.... he was so out of his league!
He tried thinking about what to do, but the more he thought the more he seemed to get worked up. The more he saw the situation getting worst. He gulped, deciding it would be better to do something than nothing.... "You no offend me Heze." He offered her a smile; "I..... strange ways." He frowned thinking that didn't sound right.

Lookign at him and listening, she had watched his expression flicker a little with whatever he was thinking. Unsure what to do but nodding and offering an unsure smile in return for his, not looking sad any more, just unsure but nodding. "Differet... different ways... not strange," Ok so they might be strange for all she knew but different was the better word, and besides she couldn't think of his ways as strange because she could not imagine that a good kind persons ways could be bad... Strange to her thinking was a word that implied different and bad.

He frowned, repeating the word despite himself. "Different." Haki was beginning to feel rather uncomforable given that he really didn't know what to do to brigde the gap that had formed between them. He could almost see it, a large canyon that gave the illusion of being so close despite the distance. He sighed softly, this was his doing. He knew that. If only he hadn't reacted to her touch the way he had, then perhaps she would still be smiling. His eyes landed on her braclet and the one for her family. Small trinkets that probably had very little value, yet her eyes had lit up when she saw them. Deciding it would be best to attempt a change of subject he nodded towards them. "Two days." He hoped he had the numbers right... one, two, four? Either way he hope he had at least said more rather than less, they would need to dry for two Suns and then they could be used without fear of breaking.

Her wings giving a little flap, the 4 large things lifting her easily, just enough to land lightly next to him. Unconciously answering his thought and bridging the metaphoric gap between them. Smiling at him and looking to the trinkets he had so cleaverly made. "Two days of drying, ok!" Nodding and smiling at him, closer again now but not touching.

Haki didn't dare to glance at her first, he could feel the heat of her... that combinded with the grace her four wings had carried her were enough to make him drool. This was dangerous. She was dangerous to him. Instead of looking at her he nodded. Ashamed of his very thoughts... she was far too innocent and pure for a beast like him. In an effort to recover a small sliver of his decency he spoke again, "I take home.... safe keep." Even if he couldn't have her he would make sure she was safe for another. He was sure her family would appreciate her not being left alone in such a dangerous world.... he just hoped he wasn't the biggest threat to her.

Smiling at him again her eyes twinkling once more. "keep safe... and thank you... but you don't have to." Not wanting to impose on him more, especially as it seems they were to part ways. Moving over to where the items were and carefully picking them up, placing thme on her back to keep drying and for safe keeping. Smiling at him again and walking back next to him, not seeing him as any threat at all to her. She liked him, his speaking was musical to her ears, though it wa shard to communicate. She might be huty though at his view of himself, not seeing herself as a beauty and him far from a beast.

Haki didn't want their time together to end, but he knew it was too selfish of him to expect anything else. By suggesting he take her home he had in fact caused the end himself. Not wanting to impose on her further he moved to face her, lowered the front of his bow into a bow as he spread his wings. "Kuwa salama." (Be safe) He smiled to himself; "Mei wewe kupata furaha unastahili. Lazima wewe milele haja yangu taja jina langu, kama nasikia nami daima kuja mbio." (May you find the happiness you deserve. Should you ever need me call out my name, if I hear I shall always come running.) Ok, so it was probably a good thing that she couldn't understand that. Raising himself up again he took one last look at her before kicking off the ground. He hoovered for a while, simply looking at her. His acid yellow eyes absorbing all he could. "Good bye Heze."

Looking up as he had taken off, not understanding any of what he had just said, giving him a hopeful smile, hoping to see him again. "Be safe Haki, take care" Not able to bring herself to say good bye, she hated that word, the rare times she herd it it made her feel sad as though the one saying it was never going to return. "See you again my friend." Stood watching him, not about to walk away, she didn't like to be the one to leave.
