"That Julie," Jordan confirmed. "She woke us up in the middle of the night to catch minipets. Then she wanted us to help take them apart. They - er - got loose." He looked down at the mini he held. "Whether or not they're going to be experiments, they've been out of the cages for a little while. We really ought to get them into tanks before they melt. They won't be useful to anyone melted," he said to Eva. He paused, then admitted, "I'm not particularly comfortable with what Julie was planning, anyway." There was a faint frown on his face; he was less then happy to have to acknowledge that he was a little attached to the stupid little creatures. It was just because they looked like dogs. Ferros laughed. Shut up, Jordan grumbled, and started for the door. "I'm taking it to the labs," he said. "Even if there's no empty tanks available, this type seems to get along with each other; we can put them in with other foxfires while we find a tank." You've got to think up some more creative comebacks, Ferros teased him. And I think it's just adorable that you like the cute little animals. ... Shut up.

Jove might have growled at the approaching hands, but this hunter seemed to have no fear of small fluffy things, and scooped him up anyway. At least the fruit foxfire had a cha- Nope, it was soon seized as well.
The pup gave a fitful wiggle, but he knew from his own experiences handling the fluffs at home that this would be a hard grasp to escape. This hunter, Jordan, had him for the time being. So he flopped, and listened. And tried not to frown as his ears were rubbed. His usual protests that he wasn't a Human Pet would only cause more harm here than good.
As the pup put thoughts of escape out of his mind for the time being, he was able to listen in more calmly on their conversations. And he noticed a couple things. First off, that there seemed to be some disagreement here. These names, crazy Julie and... Clarice, were they higher ups?
The second thing he realized was that the hunters were right. If his fluffy little friend spent too long in this terrible place, it would start to dissipate. Most minipets were only the tiniest bits of FEAR accumulated into one little body, and not only would it be terrible to watch, but when Jove himself didn't start to fall apart the hunters would clearly suspect something. It really was in his best interest to go to these labs. And fast, he had no idea how long the other foxfire had.
So Jove did his best to hasten the process. He brought to mind the most awful things he could remember, eating bad mushrooms, Ren smelling TERRIBLE after that minipet class, cleaning up after his minipets had eaten bad mushrooms...
And then the pup threw up on Jordan's white jacket. It was a disgusting fluid that was mostly dark blood, with the occasional dark red clump or black chunk here and there. His own ghostly blood perhaps, Jove never knew. It would slowly start to evaporate into nothingness, but hopefully it got the point across!

Sighing in relief, Dakota kept a firm grip on the sherbert pup and looked over at Eva and Ariane. "Oh two of my favorite ladies!"
Yes. But Ariane had been the first girl Dakota had met, and done a mission with successfully. Ah the Sahara desert....then there Ewa his Angel...Eva. defenitly the higher ups of his favorite ladies.
"Like Jordan said, that Julie." Dakota looked at the small pup again before nodding. "Not sure how long these pups---" and then the grey one spewed all over Jordan like a minipet fountain. ""Ack Jordan man...." Instinctively he held the other puppy in front of him and facing away. "We better hurry..."

"Ah, my favorite Dakota!" The only Dakota she knew, actually, "It's nice to see you again! Especially when we're not covered knee-deep in dead people!" Before she could say anything else, a rather unpleasant noise and sound caught her attention, and she made a face, turning towards the source.
For a while, Ariane stared at Jordan. Then at the pup that had just thrown up. Then back at Jordan. Then back at the pup.
And then she lost it completely and just started laughing.
"H-Here..." She cleared her throat, trying to stifle her own laughter as she reached out for the fluffy thing to allow Jordan to maybe take his jacket off, since whatever the pup just puked up did not look like normal pup puke, "I'll hold him for you... While you- Pffft-" She patted the fluffy

There was a horking sound. While Jordan had quick reflexes, he didn't process the noise quite fast enough, and the foxfire spewed something all over him. "What the hell," he yelped, and held the creature away from his body, though his grip didn't loosen. "What is this stuff?"
Ariane got a grumpy look for laughing, but he didn't comment, just handing the foxfire over. "Keep a good hold on it. They're squirmy," he said, and grabbed a handful of paper towels from a stack on the cart that had been pushed aside to reveal the pups. Ugh, the bloody, sticky substance wasn't coming out. It was probably going to stain. At least he'd got the chunks off - and he wasn't going to think about that too hard, because it'd make him queasy himself.
He gave up, tossed the towels into a trash receptacle marked with the biohazard symbol, and shook his head. "Let's get them down to the labs. I'm just going to have to change later, but if that was some kind of sign that it's starting to deteriorate, we need to get moving right now."

It was a challenge to keep from laughing at the reactions of the hunters, even as he was passed off and patted. Jove didn't try to escape this time though. He had to go with them at least until he could be sure the other fluff would be fine, and he might see more while being carried around at his human-form height than he would skittering around on the ground. He might see a way out.
The pup turned to blink up at his new captor, and decided she was having too much fun.
"Hrrrrk. HRRRK!"
He might have already used up the bloody contents of his ghostly stomach, but the hunter wouldn't know that!

Ariane heard the noise.
Ariane processed the noise.
Stubbornness - and just a bit of pity - kept her from flinging the foxfire she was holding onto straight into the nearest wall. Instead, she held him by the scruff of its neck, the same way she had seen Jordan hold him just a few seconds before, and extended her hand all the way out so that the pup was dangling an arm's length away from her... And it was staying that way till they got to the labs.
"Well now!" That stopped her laughing, at least, and she turned to look at Jordan, giving him a nod, "At least the one with Dakota hadn't done that." Yet? Who knows... She had no intention of finding out, which was why she decided to head out of the infirmary and straight towards the Life labs, the blue-grey pup held out in front of her.

"Hi, Gumdrop!" Eva grinned, straightening up to look at Dakota instead of the minipet that he held. She gave him a little pat on the cheek, only to freeze up, like everyone else, at the horking sound coming from the puppy that Jordan held. She turned to look at him...
And like Ariane, couldn't help but laugh. Sure, yeah, it was disgusting, but it was kind of funny too, you know? Though this was one of those kinds of things that was funny when it happened to other people, and not yourself.
She slung an arm around Ariane's shoulder as they started towards the Life labs, eying the dangling pup that the intermediate Hunter held out at arms length with a small grin. "For obvious reasons, I think everyone should stay behind you and your fluffy spewing machine there." Eva noted, sliding behind the girl a little as she spoke. Hopefully we can get both of them to the labs before it's too late.

Gale, who had been standing around tiredly, a bored look on his face, lifted a brow at the little blue foxfire, yawned, stretched, and followed Ariane to the Life Labs like a sleepily little puppy himself.

"Sounds like a good plan," Jordan said dryly, and followed Ariane. He might not be carrying the creature any more, but he felt vaguely responsible for its well-being; he'd brought it here, after all. He could at least make sure it got settled in a tank before he went back to bed. ... In clean clothes. Ugh.

Giving Harrison's arm a little squeeze, she carefully placed the tank in her room and locked the door behind her. Her phone was vibrating with a message from Arianne that left her both tired and reassured. Tired because Julie was really taking the JOY loss harder than most, and reassured because at least some of the trainees were sane, sensible, and willing to take matters into their own hands when push came to shove. dragain Thank you! I'll handle Julie, the main lab has a set of prepped tanks for an upcoming mission. Give them extra candies to take the edge off. Clarice pocketed the phone, and smiled grimly at Harrison, "Right. Let's..." she stared at him, once again taking in his gory, disheveled appearance, "...you look tired. Why don't I take care of this, and you clean yourself up and get some rest?"

"Hm-hmmm," Julie tapped her chin thoughtfully at Candace's adamant response. "It is nice to see such lively trainees around, a pity you're of that kind." She might have even sniffled as she finally poured the contents of her bowl into a tray and then into the oven.
"Well, you have outlived your welcome here you, you Joy hater!" She spewed this out as if it was the worst possible insult ever. "Go and tell Killzone that I never loved him either!"
Her loud slam against the counter had been for the most part unintentional, that is, the part where her spatula got caught in one of the ninety-nine assembled cannonus caticus labelled minipets in the series of cages, and even the Moon Hunter herself seemed surprised at the result as all the cages went toppling, several of them opening-
-and the entire kitchen and hallway towards said kitchen was covered in flying white, red and blue blurs.

That kind? Candace raised a brow but said nothing to what was obviously Julie's idea of an insult. The hell? Killzone? What did he have to--nevermind. Candace didn't want to know. "I am not a 'joy hater', Julie. You've just clearly lost your damn mind. These creatures are made of Fear. Do you seriously think eating them is a good ide--AH!" She tried to catch the cages, she really did. But she failed. What the hell were these things?!

When her phone vibrated, she used her free hand to pick it up and open the message, heaving a sigh of relief as she pocketed her phone and turned to the rest of the trainees, "Clarice said that she had it all under control! We'll just have to put these two in the empty cages that had been prepped for the next mission, and feed them some fear candy~"
Sounded easy enough to her!
"Hm...? I don't know," She mused out loud, turning to grin at Eva when she felt her arm go round her shoulder, "A fluffy spewing machine sounds quite deadly to me... In fact-"
She stopped and then spun around suddenly, holding the blue-grey pup out towards Gale - who seemed like the sleepiest of them all, poor kid - before yelling, "VOMIT AWAY, CUTE FEAR PUPPY. Let it rip!" She stood there, foxfire extended out towards the boy, the foxfire close enough to almost touch his face. Seconds passed before she started laughing, rejoining Eva and hooking onto her arm with her free arm. Then, she continued on their journey to the Life labs, pup still held out at arm's length, in front of her.
Ariane was obviously tired.

Harrison just shook his head.
"Me and B0nez are already up. Anyway, I left Candace down there and she's gonna think I ran out on her."
It would just been transporting whatever was left, and then he could shower and hit the hay. B0nez was still hoping Julie would pick a fight. Harrison doubted it. He didn't even know what Julie's weapon looked like. It was a shame, in retrospect, that the experiments had been Clarice's and that Killer had been with them. Normally he'd be all for cutting things open.
When Killer was better, they could start putting that horn to work.
