Not that it wasn't enough of Lloyds loud voice to scare her, he grabbed her from behind too. A loud squeal could be heard from Sophia as she jumped. This was the second time Lloyd has scared her. Her hand quickly went over her mouth as she realized the loud squeak was her and her face went a bright red. The feeling of Lloyds arms around her waist was actually... comforting. She wasn't aware at how human touch could actually effect her. Espeshially if it was affectionate as Lloyds was. She slowly turned her head to look at the blond that was holding her. Her anger seemed to wash away the moment she realized Lloyd was now holding her. "T-thanks..." She stuttered. The sound of other people now in the room made her only blush more, not sure if she should ask Lloyd to let go or what.

Riyel "The Quiet One" Vicaria

Now I think I understand
How this world can overcome a man
Like a friend we saw it through
In the end I gave my life for you
Gave you all I had to give
Found a place for me to rest my head
While I may be hard to find
Heard there's peace just on the other side

Not that I could or that I would
Let it burn under my skin, let it burn

{Current Theme Song: Dear God- Avenged Sevenfold}

Riyel sighed. He had sat in his room for up to an hour and he had finally decided that perhaps it was time to get ready for whatever else the day had to throw at him, the Ball being a major throw in his direction. Personally, he was indifferent towards it. It wasn't a bad thing but it certainly was NOT Riyel's thing. Social events were something people with friends went to or people like Lloyd, individuals that held the QUALITIES to make friends...and to dance. Thinking of such things made Riyel sigh deeply, himself finally standing. He had just taken a shower a couple of minutes prior and was now more or less grooming himself. His own light tan was emulated by scars on his chest and wrist but overall there was no great collateral damage from the previous mission. But if the first mission was that bad...surely there would be more to come. Though he didn't care to say it openly, there was just a negative doubt like feeling protruding in the back of his mind. Really, Riyel didn't hold such nonsense...but something was coming up and he could feel it...hopefully it wouldn't be too bad.

Letting loose a sigh, he shaved the stubble that covered his face and performed other such cosmetic related care. He had to at least be perceived as a human being, if others cared to notice and it was also something his grandmother had always insisted. Quietly, he combed his blonde hair and grunted, popping his knuckles. Might as well get a move on, sooner or later. he though quietly, turning and grasping his Gunblade that was in its black holster that he normally placed over his shoulder. Quietly, he set it down and placed on his new uniform, not even checking himself in the mirror and praying that he looked presentable towards the others. Moments later, he walked right out of his room with his Gunblade on his back, his hands at his sides limply while he strutted forward, making his way towards the elevator that was near his own room.

It didn't take long but he finally came upon the elevator, stepping in right after Tae. Both of his company was quiet, so he really saw no need to start up a conversation. He hit the level three button and the doors closed, the elevator jerking slightly as it made its ascension. "Money that somebody is bickering." He said quietly towards Tae. The only sound was the elevator moving and perhaps the heaviness of their breathing, each to their own but that was that. In a few moments, the door opened and Riyel stepped out, not saying anything but continuing upon his trek. And what pray, did he come upon? Nona insulting Lloyd and Lloyd and Sophia in an embrace with Ellale standing off away from all the turmoil....well then..."It seems two people can't wait until the Ball begins." the blonde said, his eyes on the two before him. His own eyes flickered towards Nona as she spoke, inside himself chuckling. It really did seem that the consensus was that Lloyd was a primate of some kind, logic that Riyel couldn't argue with...but her tone was still..."Kinda rude." he observed, leaning against a wall. Hopefully the headmaster would hurry before people started to kill one another.

Here on the highway, yeah
I know you'll find your own way

I hope you'll find your own way

"Wahaha~!" Lloyd couldn't help but give a cheerful laugh as Sophia jumped; obviously he succeeded in scaring her yet again. Though he had done with plenty of times before...he had just realized how curvy her figure was. His arms, although clad in cloth, could feel her body beneath her uniform. Suddenly, embarrassing memories of the mission prior flooded back to him. From accidentally grasping her breast to seeing Sophia in all her half naked glory; Lloyd's cheeked flushed a deep pink as he recalled every detail of those moments in his mind.

Thankfully, Nona got his attention and complimented Lloyd, before insulting him right after. His smile morphed to a scowl in no time flat as he shot a glare at her from over Sophia's shoulder. "Gee thanks Nona. Also good to know they had the uniform in a size XL" he shot back taking aim at her weight. That was a lame comeback but come on; he is a fisherman's son for Pete sake. Lloyd noticed Sophia turning to look at him with her face consumed by crimson. He couldn't help but blush back as his gaze met Sophia’s. "Y-your welcome" he stuttered before looking off still attached to her waist. It wasn't until Riyel appeared that he finally let go flailing.

"T-the ball?! W-well I-I uh..er..ya see I just uh" Lloyd stammered over his words shaking his hands. Truthfully, he had always thought about taking Sophia just as someone to tag along. But after that mission and how much he protected her..something was just...different. It was hard to explain. It was like, he saw Sophia in a much different light. Eh..who knows what it could be. "So um! Congrats everyone!" he said sharply turning away with his hands behind his head as he nonchalantly kicked his left foot across the ground.

Stepping out of the elevator, the young SeeDs would have exited out into a wide hallway and been met with a different sight than that of the rest of the Garden. The floor, for example, was varnished wood, and the walls on them had framed photos of places around the garden, past students whom had either passed away, graduated, or moved on. Even with the soft and loud chatter of the excited, or even nervous, SeeDs, there was a silence, a stillness almost, to this hallway as if they had stepped into a place of great age and importance. And the oil lit lanterns which hung to the walls and the pillars gave the hallway a dim, but warm light, much different from the fluorescent bulbs used throughout the rest of the building. And as the last of the young SeeDs stepped out of the elevator, and into the hallway, the lights in the hallway began to dim, and almost distantly something could be heard.

It was the sound of a drum. A large, deep drum. Distant first, and with long intervals, the sound persisted, and the lights grew dimmer until just barely the young SeeDs would have been able to see one another without squinting. And as the drumming grew closer, the intervals shorter and the louder with each passing beat, hooded figures stepped out from side passages of the hallway, filing silently into the room barely making a sound as they glided in and lined up along the wall in perfect unison, the figures turning and facing their opposite on the other side of the hall, the SeeDs trapped in between them.

Induction

And as the drums grew deafeningly loud, the doors to the headmaster's office were flung open, a blinding light emitting from the room and surprisingly enough, a pair of sinuous dragons of indigo and darkblue, shot forth from the office, flying straight toward the SeeDs. Sudden it was not merely drums playing but the sound of other instruments, wild and tribal, the music made the air seem alive, and the dragons seemed to dance lividly to it, curling back around once they had flown over the SeeDs and twirling around the wood columns, dancing intricately to the music. And the cloaked figures? They fell forward, staves suddenly in hand and dancing between the SeeDs, or those who didn't move out of the way in time as these disguised figures wielded their ceremonial staves, chanting or singing and clacking their staves together as if in mock combat, their motions ferocious, yet enchanting and impossible to look away from as they flowed fluidly.

And finally, when the dragons began to reach the end of their dance, the came together, head on, and collided with each other in such a brilliant burst of light that when it faded, and the SeeDs could open their eyes once more, the SeeDs would have seen that the figures were still as statues once more, but now stood lined together and each one pointing to a single long man with flowing hair and a beard, and a pendant that glowed a deep red, standing at the end of the column of people, hands held out on either side of him. He was a tall man, and from the way he looked down you could tell he knew that he stood above each and every one there, in height and in status. And when the sounds of drums and instruments faded away, he raised his hands up high, and spoke.

Induction

Look around at one another. Look around, and memorize the faces of those around you. Some of these faces, you have known since you first stepped foot into this Garden. Some of these faces, only a few months. A few weeks. Days. Hours. Maybe even minutes. Some of these faces, you may not even recognize. But memorize their faces, and learn their names. For today, you are all brothers and sisters. Today, you have graduated as SeeDs, and will soon be ushered into a world that has been harsh and cruel to both few and many. Memorize their faces, and recognize them as family, the family whom would die for you just as you would die for them. And not just them, but for the world.

You will be tried and tested in this world. It will throw everything it has at you, and if you do not wish to be swept aside like the grains of sand you are, you will need to throw everything you have back. But this is not a task you can do on your own. To be able to face the world on your own, you must acknowledge that you are not on your own! That beside you, there are those who care for you and would stand by your side for anything. Look around and memorize the faces of your brothers and sisters, my young grains of sand. For when the world turns on you, they may be the very ones to keep you from being swept away into the ocean they call life.

The headmaster was silent for a time, looking from one student, to the next, letting his words sink in and for their eyes to be drawn back to him. Maia Cahira. Avienda Lancaster. Ellale Laytos. Taeria Limmari. Lloyd Nipal. Clay Verdart. Riyel Vicaria. Sophia Vinginshy. Nona Winchester... The Headmaster went on to announcing each of the names of the graduates, even announcing the names of previous cadets whom had died during the previous mission, his tone seeming graver as he spoke their names. And when he finally reached the end, he lowered his hands, and smiled. I welcome you all into the ranks of SeeDs. From this day forth, you will be known not as cadets, but as operatives! With that, a number of the SeeDs would have let out cheers of excitement, some hollering and laughing, others being far more quiet in their celebrations. And to congratulate you all for having come this far, a Ball shall be thrown in your honor, this evening tonight. I hope to see you all there in your best, in behavior and attire! The headmaster gave a quiet chortle, as if finding something funny, or perhaps recalling something that only he could remember. You are all dismissed, operatives. Spend the rest of the afternoon resting up for tonight, and remember: You are not alone.

With that, the headmaster would have turned around, and strode back to his office, light still pouring out from the outside world into the dark hall. The lights would have brightened, and when they did the cloaked figures would have filed out of the hall through the side passages as silently as they had come in. And when the headmasters doors began to shut,he turned around, looking at the SeeDs from the distance, with a look that was almost sorrowful. And good luck, my grains of sand. His voice too soft to be heard, but his look saying it all as the doors closed shut completely.

Sophia was quiet as Llyod held her and insulted Nona. Their faces were so close when she looked back at him. She could feel his breath against her skin, and his strong arms around her little waist. Her eyes looked at his, not realizing how beautiful they were. Thats when he let go. She felt her body suddenly relax and she turned to Riyel comment that her and Lloyd couldn't wait for the ball. Sophia's face turned red and she shook her head. "I'm not going!" She blurted without thinking. Thats when the lights dimmed and the last of people came up. Sophia looked around seeing that the Headmaster was making a grand entrance.

Sophia moved to the side and stood in front of the headmaster, listening to everything he said. A tear slid down her face when her name was said. Its true... I'm a SeeD She thought as she grabbed her fingers in front of her, gripping them as she held back all her emotions. When they were finally dismissed, Sophia wiped her eyes with a smile. Tears of Joy.... I'm actually crying of joy She thought as she took in a deep breath. "Have a good night guys.." She spoke softly to everyone and started to walk off. She wouldn't have any fun at the ball anyways. She was an antisocial person who was lucky she even made friends. As she walked into the elevator her hands slowly wrapped around her own waist, remembering how Lloyds touch felt around her just minutes ago.

I guess I couldn’t expect any better from him, mused Nona, unfazed by the comment on her weight and readying a return volley. Before she could, the aforementioned monkey got sidetracked by the girl he was still clinging to, and their chatter was cut short by the distant but still significant beat of the drum. Nona forgot her retort as she realized she had never heard about the Winhill Garden induction ceremony. She had only been here less than a year; she had missed the previous ceremony if it were anything noticeable from outside the hall. As she dwelt on this, the drumming picked up. The whole flashy performance went on with Nona stubbornly refusing to give ground to the intruding dancers or show an ounce of fear when the dragons appeared. It was quite a show, and upon its abrupt ending, she wondered if this happened the same every year. From what she knew of Galbadia Garden’s ceremony, this was...quite unusual. At least, until the headmaster emerged.

Nona didn’t refuse the old man’s command. She took in the faces of those around her; both familiar and new. Still, she refused to give ground to his claims. Family? she thought sourly, arms still crossed as the old man went on. Spare me. At least the tirade went in the direction she was hoping before long. Nona visibly straightened up as they were declared SeeD operatives, a faint smile coming to her. Then it was the ball, and that smile was swept from her face when a sudden realization hit her like a club to the back of the head. Still, she quickly put got to work thinking on it; the ceremony wrapped up and the old headmaster retreated to his office and the group began to disperse. She lingered as she ran through a number of possibilities in her mind. When she hit upon the right one, she was sure of it, and turned to see that very person vanishing into the elevator. Damnit... she swore silently, far from being able to catch it.

Nona took off without a word to the others, finding her way to the stairs nearby. She silently thanked the medical staff for their treatment when she began speedily descending; if she were even close to the shape she’d been in a few days ago, the stairs would have taken her hours to descend. She reached the first floor after a minute or so and caught a glimpse of purplish hair heading in the direction of the dormitories. She trotted after and caught Sophia just before she could escape into the privacy of her own room.

”Vinginshy!” she barked, a little harsher than she meant to. She had to pause for a moment to catch her breath, but even after she had done so, she realized to her immediate discomfort that she wasn’t sure how to approach this. Sophia could quickly see the girl’s unease as she tried not to let on how much she was struggling to say something. When a few long moments passed with nothing between them, Nona got out on an impulse ”Can I come in?” She didn’t much look like she was going to take ‘no’ for an answer.

Tae glanced up to see that Riyel entered the elevator. She gave him a small smile. ”Congratulations and I wanted to thank you for helping Ellale and I out.” What had she really meant by that? Was it when he’d come and taken out one of the machines? She blinked when he spoke about money and that someone was bickering. That was a horrible way to throw your money away and bickering couldn’t always be helped between those who didn’t see eye to eye but she hoped they weren’t bickering or fighting over something, like Nona and Lloyd.

Well, it didn’t seem like they were going to bet anything, not that Tae was someone that would do that, before the ding of the elevator that singled their end to their destination and the jerk of the elevator as it came to a stop. She allowed Riyel to leave first and trailed behind him as the last person to arrive. Her eyes trailed over the group and spotted Ellale standing off to the side and just as she stepped up next to her friend the lights began to dim and sounds of thunder could be heard. No, not thunder but drums. The beat rattling in her chest and it almost seemed like her heart beat was in time with its rhythm.

She’d caught a glimpse of Sophia and Lloyd standing next to each other with Nona close by. If she wasn’t mistaken Sophia’s cheeks were a bit more red than normal. However, she didn’t get to comment her on it because just then hooded figures stepped out from the shadows her eyes flicking to them warily at first. The burst of the headmaster’s office doors being flung open caused her to flinch slightly her eyes moving in that direction and just in time to see a pair of dragons fly from his office.

All in all, the entire introduction was rather interesting. She watched each hooded figure dance around as if they were merely there to have fun. They music began to die down and with that came the final seen where the two dragons crashed head on with each other creating a blast of brilliant light to fill the room and causing her to close her eyes against it. It was then that the head master finally presented himself and everything was quiet, except the ringing that was now playing inside of her ears. She moved a hand to rub at them in hope that the ringing would stop.

Right away he asked them to look around at one another, and she did, her eyes catching a few gazes as she did before glancing back at him. Friends, family, brothers and sisters in arm. Memories came flashing across her mind but before she could actually grasp any of it they vanished leaving a hole in her chest that ached around her heart. Pushing that aside she took a deep breath and smiled through it all. They were all SeeD members now and it was something she worked hard to achieve and came far to get here. It was done. Her goal in life had been accomplished, now what? Live for this garden? Live for the people she began to care deeply for? Give them all she had to give and never look back?

She listened as the head master listed off their names and welcomed them all into the ranks as not cadets any more but as operatives. A warm smile grew on her lips. She was glad to be here to share this moment with those she’d made friends with. And they were to have a ball? But… she didn’t really have anything to wear. Her mother probably didn’t know about it either and wouldn’t have thought to bring it with her when she came to see her later today. Yes, she’d written her mother about coming to her final test and for her to wish her luck. Her mother; however, insisted that she come to be here. Come to think of it actually they’d been here for three days, was her mother here already? She would have to go around and ask after they were done here.

She blinked as he dismissed them and reminded them that they were not alone. With that all said he turned and left, and so did the hooded figures just as silently as they had come. While everyone else was probably getting ready to leave and make plans on what or how they were going to spend the rest of their time before the ball she’d watched the head master turn with what she thought looked like a very sad expression. His lips moved ever so slightly had might have just been imagining it but from here she couldn’t hear if he indeed said anything, then he was gone as the doors finished closing.

Her eyes slowly closed then opened as she watched Sophia disappear behind the elevator doors and then Nona rush after her. Tae gave her own sad expression towards the girl. She’d been acting more and more reserved ever since they got back, or so she heard. Was she upset about something? Maybe a lover had died in the mission? Though she’d always thought Lloyd and Sophia were close and perhaps one day one of them would gather enough courage to ask the other out, one day. A soft sigh escaped her lips before she turned her head back to those that were still there.

Nona was mean... that much she was sure of as she listened to her speak. It wasn't bad though, since she knew Lloyd and Nona argued a lot. They never really could see eye to eye.Still, she listened to them argue with only mild interest. She was rather quiet though, several things on her mind. They all seemed to be having fun though, so she didn't want to trouble any of them as she thought. She hurt a little still, her body sore from having been in bed for so long. Ellale watched Lloyd and Sophia for a moment, looking away from them after a moment, clenching her hand slightly. She didn't have a good reason for why she had that reaction, but she did. She was happy for Lloyd, she was, but something... bothered her. It wasn't important though, so she didn't worry about it. It had nothing to do with them... it had all to do with that she knew she...

Ellale pushed the thoughts out of her mind as she felt a change in the hall. Her eyes looked up as she listened, hearing drums after a while. The lights dimmed, Ellale looking around startled, finding Tae and moving to be a step closer to her, nearly bumping into her after having not realized how close she was in the darkness. She turned her eyes ahead as figures started moving into the hall. This was scary, actually. If she hadn't been prepared for something weird like this, she might have been actually worried something was wrong. A final test perhaps. This was so strange... no matter how she looked at it. She watched, her yellow eyes focusing as the dragons came from the office. She didn't move though, watching intently, unsure of how to react. And then came the headmaster. Ellale knew him, she'd seem him talking to Kalay once when she was younger. It was strange though... he looked different. And then his voice...

She followed his words, glancing at those around them, stopping with a soft gaze on Tae, turning her eyes back forward after a moment. She listened, closing her eyes as he said they were his grains of sand. But... grains of sand were washed away by water on a regular basis...? Why did he compare them to sand? It was strange. And then came the real moment. He announced their names, including the names of people she knew whom had died. She listened, aware that her name could have been on that list while she might not have been here... it was a scary thought... what would Tae have thought? And then, he declared them to be operatives. It was official. And then he mentioned the ball she had already known. And it was over, everyone retreating as they had come. Ellale remained where she was for a while, letting the mans last expression on them sink in. He knew... her view of the grains of sand was not wrong... was it? She closed her hand tightly. Well, there wasn't any sense in worrying about it, right? For now she could relax. They had nothing to worry about for a while, right? They wouldn't be assigned a mission so quickly...

Sophia left in a hurry, Nona quick to follow after her leaving the rest of them alone. Tae had already turned to join the others, but as she moved, a hand reached out and grabbed the back of her shirt softly. "T-Tae..." Ellale said the girls name softly, which was uncharacteristic for Ellale. She wasn't even looking at Tae, even more uncharacteristic for Ellale. She was hesitating about something, her motion to taking ahold of Tae's shirt clearly having taken a good deal of courage alone. What could be bothering her so much though? Was there a good reason at all? In the now lit hall though, there wasn't anyway for Ellale to hide her face, even looking away from Tae was not going to hide the fact that Ellale was blushing. It was probably almost painful to watch her. She still hadn't said anything almost a minute after taking a hold of Tae's shirt to stop her from walking away. If it was so important, why the silence?

"Tae... can I ask you something... um, where there isn't anyone else...?" She was incredibly nervous about something. Whatever it was, she couldn't speak about it with so many people around, particularly as some of them were watching them. She released Tae's shirt as she asked that question. She didn't care where she got to ask whatever was on her mind, so long as she got to ask. She couldn't here though, not with so many people. perhaps the reflection pool, or the field where no one could watch her? She didn't like looking this embarrassed about anything, let alone in front of Tae. There wasn't much to be done at the moment though... she was simply too nervous.

{{O.o.c:// Victory of Life}}

It was done. The students had been sent away, and Kalay had been left in the silence of the classroom for a short while before having left to wander the halls. Today was a free day for all students, no classes being held, which meant Kalay was free to do whatever he wanted. That usually meant sleeping in the field. As usually, soft padding could be heard behind him as Carbuncle followed obediently, as always. The two were silent as they went, walking down the walkway to the recreation center. It was a tall building, as where most of the out buildings, and had various attractions for students. The one that interested Kalay the most happened to be on the second floor, but there were many things on the various floors for people to take interest in. As the floor layout was different than the main building, the second floor of the main building actually leveled out to about... the seventh floor of the training center. It didn't go much higher than that.

Time passed as it always did, the day going on peacefully as students went about their way, various SeeDs coming in and out as they saw fit, some to congratulate the new comers. It was all peaceful, much to the benefit of everyone, particularly those in the infirmary, where Kalay knew his sister should have been. He had seen her in the white clothing, but he had not stopped her. It was her day, not his. She could do as she wanted in his eyes and it would be alright. She had at least that much respect from him. In the recreation center there was a great deal of noise, mainly students training for various things, some even SeeDs simply training to pass the time between missions. There were not many SeeDs in Winhill Garden though. Most of them, Kalay included, were instructors. They were all SeeDs, but they were given a special place in the Garden as those that students looked up to and learned from. Becoming an instructor wasn't easy... that much could be seen from Lisanna who tried so hard in the last mission. Kalay remembered his well enough...

"Careful, I can't directly help you should you pick more than you can chew." Kalay warned, kneeling next to the archer next to him. Behind him, two others lay in wait. This was a small squad. They were on a simple mission, a instructor on standby, watching Kalay's discussions and actions with the team. He had not directly helped at all during the mission, simply watching and offering support information, explaining things as they went. He was good, the instructor had to admit that. For someone new to the standings, he hadn't given a single piece of advice that would be considered bad. Still, his carefree nature was troubling... the mission had gone well, the students finally reaching their target, a T-Rex. Kalay watched as the girl raised her bow and fired. The tricky part of the situation was not the T-Rex, but the monsters around it.

A flash ahead. The mission fell in shambles, the archer had drawn more than she and her team could take. The instructor had moved to help when, to his surprise, Kalay stood protecting the students, breaking the rules blatantly to keep them alive. The report for the mission had been given to the headmaster, a note attached saying while Kalay had broken a rule, he had saved the lives of the students. It was with that, Kalay was accepted into the ranks of instructors.

Three resounding crashes in less than a few seconds. This was Kalay, in the training room of the recreation center. It was a virtual reality type room, though real enough to hurt when you got hit hard enough. Kalay had never understood how such a room could be made, but he had heard rumors that the headmaster had contacts that not many could hope to reach. Three more crashes resound as Kalay struck with his short sword. He was nimble and fast with that short sword, not to be toyed with in the slightest. Still, he backed from his target as he spun the blade, readying it as another target formed in front of him. He wasn't sweating yet, but he was tired. He struck without warning again, this time landing a glancing blow and skipping to the side as the 'illusion' swung it's blade at him. He couldn't really tell the form of what he was fighting, but that was because he hadn't set a form to fight. He assumed it was humanoid, but he couldn't be sure really.

While this display of speed was taking place, in a dark corner of the room a strange figure sat, eyes watching the moving blur known as Kalay with what appeared to be enjoyment. No noise was made from the figure that was of on it's own, and the only real visible sign of it in the darkness was it's strange eyes, a ruby red, it's hair to dark to determine it's color. Still, the figure watched with joy as Kalay moved. Whoever it was seemed to greatly enjoy the moving figure.

Tae took a step forward her mouth open before stopping feeling a tug on her shirt. Blinking she turned to look at Ellale who held her shirt in her hand. Her red eyes watched the young girl a little warily. She wasn't really acting herself today, but perhaps Tae was just over looking things. Though there was obviously something on her friends mind. She waited for a moment before saying her name to prompt her to continue. ”Kitten?”

Worry for the other started to crawl into her skin as she saw that Ellale's cheeks were a nice rosey color. Either she wasn't feeling good or she was blushing. Blushing about what Tae didn't know which was why she was feeling a bit worried that it was the other.

The two stood in silence for what seem like a long time before Ellale began to speak again. As she listened to her she stared for a moment, silence stretched a bit longer between the two of them. She was nervous of whatever it was she wanted to ask. A small smile etched her lips as she nodded, though Ellale wasn't really looking at her. Glancing back at who was all else here she could talk to them later.

”Sure. We can go walk outside.” Taking her hand she headed towards the elevator and slipped in with a few of the other students taking it down to the ground level. She stood in there silent knowing that whatever it was that Ellale wanted to say she wasn't going to till they were out of ears reach of everyone. A ding and a lurch of the elevator later the doors opened letting the students out.

So where could they go with no one else around? Outside was as good as any place. Tae still held Ellale's hand taking her pass the reflection pool and outside. She drew in a slow deep breath once they were outside. As they walked Tae waited for her friend to speak, she wasn't going to rush her because she knew that whatever was on the girls mind made her nervous which in turn was starting to make Tae nervous.

Releasing her hand she hooked arms with her glancing out at the grass and the field that stretched out before them as they continued to walk. It was a very nice day out. One wouldn't have thought anything could go wrong here. It gave a sense of peace, with the sun shining high above without a cloud to be seen. A light breeze kissed their cheeks and brushed through their hair as it tossed it back behind them as they walked.

Her name, or at least what Tae called her. It was soothing. "Kitten." It was such a simple name to call someone. She didn't know she was causing Tae to worry, but then again she wasn't even looking at Tae, she couldn't bring herself to put her eyes on the woman. To her surprise though, Tae smiled though in response and took her hand, nodding as they started away. Ellale didn't look up though, she kept her gaze down as Tae pulled her along, the two getting the elevator with Maia and Clay, before reaching the bottom floor and exiting. Tae didn't stop though, she pulled on Ellale's hand, inviting her to follow, and the girl did, never once looking at Tae while Tae watched her. There was one moment, for a brief second, that Ellale glanced up at her friend, but averted her eyes quickly. It was so simple, so why was it suddenly so hard? She couldn't understand it. Days ago when they had been staring at death, she had wanted to say it, so why not now? What was different...

Ellale didn't even realized they'd gone outside until she felt the cool breeze no her cheeks. The girl looked up suddenly, staring out at the grass in front of them. It was really... beautiful. It was just passed mid-day, the sun starting it's descent, and the shadows of the building casting about with their dark shapes. The weather was warm though, pleasantly. It was quite perfect like this... and considering all that happened just a few days before.... she couldn't complain. This was perfect, and lovely. So lovely... so was it enough...? Ellale took a breath as she glanced over at Tae as Tae linked arms with her, the two watching the grass. Ellale watched her for a moment before averting her gaze as she shifted, pulling both her arms around Tae's, almost as if she were hugging that arm softly. It might have looked strange, considering Ellale was still facing forward, but... it felt comfortable to her.

"The Ball is tonight..." She said softly, almost as if she were talking to herself, though clearly Tae was right next to her. She was hesitating a lot today, that much was clear as she held Tae's arm. Her eyes looked out onto the grass for a while before she slowly blinked. "I really want to ask someone to the ball, but I'm really nervous to do so. I like them a lot..." What was she going on about? Was she asking Tae for advice? Maybe that was the case? "I like them a whole lot... they caught my attention when we met. I've kinda been confused for a while though... trying to decide if it's right for me... to be more than friends..." She was rambling, that much was clear now. Was Tae even sure what was going on? Honestly, Ellale wasn't thinking as she spoke, she was just talking, as was what she usually did. Who knew if she would actually get to what she wanted to say. That was a good question.

"Kalay seems okay with it... but I don't know about my mother... she might not approve..." She seemed to be getting to whatever it was she wanted to say. Whatever it was, her voice was getting softer, her tone more... worried? Something was seriously bothering her. That much was clear. And then, she finally asked, focusing her yellow eyes on Tae's red. "Tae... will you go to the ball... with me?" If Tae thought for a moment this was a joke she was wrong. Ellale's eyes were almost pleading as she looked up at her friend. She was asking something crazy, or at least most people would have seen it that way. She had just admitted to liking Tae, rather clearly. She was blushing, but she looked like she was tense as well. She had plenty of reason, after all. Her request wasn't exactly... normal. She was clearly serious though, her eyes making that clear. She was actually terrified. What would happen if Tae said no, what if she was disgusted with Ellale? She was risking a lot at the moment. And in her state, her body a wreck and her mind a mess, she really was at her weakest, asking something she'd be nervous to ask at her strongest.

"Please..." It was the final plead. She really was on a limb at the moment. She was just waiting to see if the wind pushed her away, or gently flowed.

Tae was a little worried about the no eye contact that she was receiving from Ellale. Clearly there was something that was going on with her and only time would tell her what that was. They had come out here for a reason after all. There was something important on the other girls mind that she wanted to share with her. Tae felt honored that Ellale would confide in her this way not really knowing what she wanted to say in the first place, but that didn’t really matter much to Tae. It was the fact that Ellale felt comfortable enough to speak with her about it. However, the silence that stretched and the lowered gaze she was getting, it only served to fuel her unease. What was it that had this girls tongue silent and nerves wound up?

They stopped after a short while of walking, if was far enough from the building so that no prying ears could hear them and should someone seek them out they would have enough time before they would come into hearing range. So there the two stood gazing out at the grass as if all their worries could be taken away on the wind that blew by. It was a nice thought anyways. After a moment she glanced down at Ellale just as she’d averted her gaze away from her wrapping both arms around her own in an embrace that looked like she was hugging it. It was enough to bring a smile to her lips.

She wasn’t in any hurry so she didn’t mind standing there in silence. Besides it would just mean that the two of them could share the peace the place gave off a bit before Ellale pulled enough courage to speak of what she wanted to tell her.

Tae almost missed the soft words that Ellale spoke but didn’t move to interrupt her. Indeed, the ball was tonight. She had forgotten that it was until they had announced it earlier. She blinked for a moment and glanced at Ellale from the corner of her eyes. Ellale found someone she really liked and wanted to ask them to the ball? Well, that was nice to hear. It both made her happy and a bit sad, though she wasn’t really sure why it made her feel a bit sad. It almost sounded to Tae that Ellale perhaps wanted some advice on how to ask this person that she liked… a lot. First thing she would need would be a name. Maybe it was Lloyd? Though, she never got that feeling when the two of them were talking at Ellale had that sort of feeling towards the boy. She bit her lower lip a little as she remained quiet. Why hadn’t she confided in her to begin with if she was confused? Perhaps she could have helped Ellale relieve some of the pressure that she knew that sort of feeling could cause.

Her lips twitched a bit. Kalay’s opinion would mean a lot to Ellale, at least that’s what Tae believed. After all the two of them were rather close like she had been with her brother. Thinking about him pained her slightly but she was able to mask the feeling. Though, upon the remark of Ellale’s mother she gave a light frown. Mothers, and more so fathers, could be rather harsh of their children’s love life and who they dated, who they liked, and the whole works. Tae was lucky to have understanding and supportive parents. If Tae fell in love with… her thoughts melted away as she gazed down into Ellale’s yellow eyes. Surprise flickered in her eyes and almost disbelief. Had she really heard her right? ”Are you serious?” Though she’d barely gotten the words passed her lips when her friend spoke pleading with her eyes. It touched Tae and made the pit of her stomach feel all warm and fuzzy that Ellale wanted to go to the dance with her.

It took a couple of seconds longer than it should have for her to register everything that Ellale had told her. She announced to her that she had strong feelings for her. From the moment that the two met Ellale had really liked Tae. Thinking back on it certain things started to become clearer to Tae. She wasn’t sure how long she stood there staring at the other girl in silence. Blinking she gave her a warm smile her other hand that wasn’t linked with Ellale’s moved to rest on top of the other girls arms. ”I would love to go to the dance with you.” Her smile widened even further at the thought. Tae had begun to like Ellale in the same manor, though she wasn’t sure when she had. She did know that her feelings for the girl became crystal clear a few days ago and when she’d awoken in the infirmary earlier that morning.

Riyel "The Quiet One" Vicaria

Now I think I understand
How this world can overcome a man
Like a friend we saw it through
In the end I gave my life for you
Gave you all I had to give
Found a place for me to rest my head
While I may be hard to find
Heard there's peace just on the other side

Not that I could or that I would
Let it burn under my skin, let it burn

{Current Theme Song: Dear God- Avenged Sevenfold}

Riyel didn't say anything to anyone. Rather, he kept quiet as the Headmaster began to speak. What information he felt was necessary he kept close to heart as he listened to the wisest man in all of Windhill and kept his mouth shut, not that it was hard. As the man ended his monologue, Riyel merely bowed his head towards the man in respect and finally turned away, looking up into the ceiling. You are not alone... What the man said rang out through Riyel's head but deep within, Riyel doubted that little piece of knowledge. He really did. A deep sigh rang out from the now SeeD operative, well hopefully things could turn better from all of this. Especially the fiasco that had happened on that last mission. Hell, even Ifrit wouldn't initiate contact with him as he usually did....so he did feel rather alone.

With that concept firm in his mind, Riyel walked away as soon as everyone else had. What was he going to do? He honestly did not know but something would come up. With that, the thought of the gym entered his mind and off he went. A thought to stop in his room and pick up a few things sprang into his mind but he tossed that aside. He was just going to go to the gym and perhaps work out...or something...he didn't have an honest clue.

I hope it's worth it
Here on the highway, yeah
I know you'll find your own way
When I'm not with you

So tell everybody
The ones who walk beside me, yeah
I hope you'll find your own way
When I'm not with you tonight

On the way to her dorm, Sophia was thinking of what she should do for the night. At first she thought she should read but the book she was reading had been destroyed at the final exam. She cringed as she thought about how she would have to go pay the library for ruining their book... or well destroying it. Besides she would be too excited to read all night. She just became a SeeD. One step closer to her goal, what shes dedicated her life too. Never failing a mission, living up to her parents. Maybe she should write about it all. The exam and how it felt to become a SeeD. She froze in the mission though... she wasn't proud of herself for it so it wasn't something that should be worth writing about.

”Vinginshy!” Sophia froze with her hand on her doorknob. She slowly turned around. Crap Nona is going to yell at me for not going to the ball. She thought as her eyes layed on the pinked haired girl running towards her. Sophia slowly let her hand drop as she looked at Nona who was standing there quiet and uncomfortable. Sophia blinked a bit confused but didn't say anything she didn't want to push what Nona was doing. ”Can I come in?” Sophia looked a little dumbfounded. She blinked a bit and nervously put her hand on her doorknob again. "Uhm.. Sure" She said softly and opened her door finally. "Come on in.. Make your self at home." She said as she walked in and left the door open for Nona. "Just give me a sec.. I need to clean my face." She stated as she walked into the bathroom and started the water in the sink. She cupped some water into her hand and gently threw it in her face. Taking in a deep breath after, she opened her eyes and slowly looked up at herself in a mirror. "Not a dream.." She whispered as she splashed one more handful into her face then wiped it with a white cloth hanging beside the sink. She fixed up her hair then walked out and looked at Nona standing in her room.

"So whats up? Are you going to the ball tonight? Lloyd will be there." Sophia blushed when she realized she brought up Llyod for no reason at all. She uncomfortably shifted her weight and sat down on the edge of her bed, leaving room for Nona if she wished to sit with her.
