She smiled as Mot laughed. “Ah…yes…more like she nagged Mother…and Mother did not want to hear it anymore so she relented…She would always be hovering though, definitetly.” Hel perked up as Mot offered to sing for her. “Really?” She echoed. “…I would like that…a lot…but later, alright?”
Hel was in chatter box mode apparently.
The ghoul giggled as Mot described the stunts his mother would do. “Such an unruly scareling you were.” Hel teased, and trailed off for a moment, thoughtful. Seems she was about to jump the random topic train. “…Hey…Mot? What…do you want to do when you graduate?”

Hel seemed so excited. That made Mot happy. "I will then. Later." If Hel wanted to chat, that was fine. Lullabies could come later as long as she was in bed.
Mot smirked playfully at her comment. Why yes, he was unruly.
The question was out of left field. Mot remembered her asking something similar a long time ago, and he wasn't able to answer properly. But now, as time had worn on, Mot had come to a conclusion about how he wanted his future to turn out. "I want to become a boogeyman." He answered straight away, looking sure of himself. "Not just a bottom tier grunt. I want to climb the ladder and change things. One day, I want to be the one calling the shots."

Where as Hel seemed to be relaxing earlier, she was wide eyed and alert now as Mot answered her question…with such confidence and self assurance as well.
On the inside…Hel felt lost. Damn it.
The look in her eyes, despite the inner self turmoil, was one of awe and appreciation for Mot and his goal, though. “…I think that is a very admirable and honorable goal, Mot.” She murmured. “…Halloween needs someone like you to do that.” That’s what she truly believed and felt. “…The system…it does need to be changed…” If the Boogeymen’s action as of late was an indicator. Hel let out a soft, amused sound. “…With your skill over words…I think the future is very promising.”

Hel was being very supportive. And flattering Mot a lot. His ego puffed up, as did his chest. He'd already felt good about his goal, but now he was feeling even better about it. "It's all about embracing what we're good at, right?"
He looked down at Hel again with a smile. "How about you?" He was very interested to know what Hel wanted to do.

“…Right.” Hel agreed, and was hoping Mot wouldn’t ask he—
Jack damn it. She needed to change the topic, and quick. She didn’t want to tell Mot that she had no idea. It was embarrassing.
Her mind kicked into a bit of a panic now, as she mentally scrambled for a question before too much silence lapsed after his question. Sadly, the first thing she blurted wasn’t exactly something she would have asked if she wasn’t panicked. “You think you will get married one day!?”

Left Field.
Again.
"Buh..." Mot stared down at the ghoul, his face turning red. "I.. I don't know." He answered hesitantly. "M-maybe..? It's hard for me to imagine right now..." As a 16 year old boil, marriage was the last thing on his mind. All he wanted to do was play with guns and hang out. You know. Teenager stuff.

Hel suddenly felt even worse.
Damn, she should have thought about a different question, because at Mot’s answer she felt even more alienated. She imagined marriage rather well for her age…maybe too well. The questions she was getting on GroanSpring helped to facilitate it as well…and then there was that one conversation she had with Mot regarding proposals…
What did one day mean!?
Suddenly she felt like she was strangely getting her hopes up for no reason.
Maybe she was just tired.
Maybe.
“…Oh.” She replied lamely.
He didn’t want to marry her!?
Her mind was getting carried away…she…she needed to….be better! Yes that was it. Make Mot want to marry her.
She was ill, and feeling really warm. Still, she felt like an odd ball and like she had lost the game.
Hel sighed deeply.

Hel seemed disappointed, and he felt like it might have been his fault. "Ah.." He stammered, looking for a way to make it better. "It's just.. I never thought about it and...just... not soon?" He'd completely forgotten about the Groan Spring debate. Completely.
He rubbed his face, trying to soothe it all over with words.
"I don't even know what it would be like." His own parents were a weak example of marriage.

Hel would remind him.
“…You…you forgot about our conversation on GroanSpring.” You know…about proposals…and one day. Mot…forgot. Mot forgot.
: C
“…It would be an adventure…” She murmured. “…A good one.” She hoped.

. . .
Oh crap.
Mot looked full of guilt. He'd forgotten something like that. "Oh.. right.." He felt like the worst boilfriend ever right now. "One day.." He repeated, rubbing his neck and blushing. "I mean.. most people do it, right? One day.."
An adventure? Good? Mot thought about it. Marriage meant starting a family, right? Was that what it was? Maybe that's what it meant.
Mot thought silently, before nodding. "One day. If and when I'm ready, I'll get married one day. Probably not for a very long time."

“…I suppose most beings do….I…suppose it is not for some…” She glanced up at him, her brows knitting, before she looked off to the side once more. The reaper fell into a sulky silence for the time being.
She didn’t know what she wanted to do when she graduated and she still wasn’t reassured by Mot’s one day comment, man, life was just so hard. Poor Mot. His ghoulfriend came from a different type of culture. With high expectations. Hel seemed ready to move on from the topic though. “…Are you going to do anything special for your birthday?” That was coming up in a little less than a month…

Crap. What a touchy subject. Sometimes mot felt like he and Hel were from different worlds.
The subject change was welcome, and Mot shook his head, looking rather sheepish. "No.. It's just a birthday, after all." Maybe not as much as Hel, but Mot was also feeling down, simply for feeling so alienated from her. Did she have different expectations for them?
"No big deal."

Hel’s brows knitted further.
“…It is not…just a birthday.” She muttered. “It is another year that you have been in existence…that is really important.” Them Nordic cultures loved to celebrate things like this. “…It is a bit deal.” Hel latched onto this topic eagerly. “…I will make you dinner.” Like a good wife.
“What would you like?”

Birthdays were exciting as a child, but got steadily less awesome as he got older. "I suppose.." He murmured softly. Mot wasn't feeling all the important at the moment. He was a bad boilfriend... In his mind.
Really Hel? Offering food?
Mot looked torn. He liked Hel's cooking, but he was still not crazy about food in general. "Um.. that steak stuff from before?" Mot asked uncertainly. He'd liked the taste of it when she had him try a bunch of small samples.

Mot didn’t look excited at all.
: C
Hel failed.
“…I..it is your birthday! We…er…you…can do whatever you want…ya?” Oh this was miserable. She was like an angst-ridden teen…oh wait…she was one. Lame. Hel rolled until she was facing the wall now. “…H..hey…you um…do not have to stay if you do not want to…I am sure you uh…have plenty of books you can read and…I…would not want you to get sick either…” She murmured lamely. “…I promise I will not go anywhere.” Giving the poor boil a way out. Maybe she’d go to sleep and wake up and it’d all be better in the morning.
