Mada nodded, "right, so a market place is needed, as i recall there is one to the south, less than half a day's walk away." she smiled at that, "i've wandered this area for quite a while so i know a bit of the land and layout. though this is the first time i've been too this city." she turned south at the next corner and head that way, humming softly. when Lucas lit up the area so that there wouldn't be any shadows to help Charlie, her smile widened. they were already acting like companions, helping each other out and she loved it.

(( Lux your avis always make me jealous oAo )) Grey eyes scanned the area, but when the shadows shifted around him he paused, his own shadow elongating, making the teen literally jump and try to back away from it, and it was gone. Had he fallen asleep? In a panic he took out his knife again and looked at the other two, noticing Lucas's smile and paused, breathing heavily. What? What was going on? Why were they smiling? He the fear was replaced with caution, looking around before feeling a warmth through his hat. Looking up he gave a frightened yell, blade ground through the light before he fell, trying to scoot away from the thing that was following him. A pain in her hand make him stop moving, looking at the small cut before looking forward, the light gone. What... She looked up again to spot it hovering there, swinging his blade through it again before dropping his arm. It was just, floating. Carefully Charlie stood, not wanting to hit the thing with her head, but it seemed to rise in time with her, quickly removing all the shadows nearby. It wasn't a nightmare, at least not yet. Gray eyes moved to the two smiling idiots, glaring at them. "Not without warning." And turned around, continuing to walk while spitting into her own hand, removing the dirt from it. She'd nerly stabbed herself because of them. Thought it was a nightmare. Were the lunatics trying to make her kill herself? But now she knew what it was, she wasn't afraid of it. She would not give her nightmare the satisfaction.

Lucas Balmore Luke stepped forward to help Charlie but then the other got up and seemed to be clam again. He did not intend to scare him, Lucas then looked to the others hand and noticed that he had hurt himself. He opened his mouth to say something but didn't and looked to the ground as he walked. He caused him to hurt himself by startling him, he most likely wouldn't accept any help that Luke offered now. "Sorry, next time I'll let you know." he spoke in agreement with the other. ((I'm sorry ;< but thanks? ))

Mada's eyes widened when Charlie had his little fit, much like earlier when he'd stabbed himself in the leg. she was glad he wasn't hurt too badly this time, "sorry, sweety. didn't mean to scare you." she walked forward and slipped her hand into Charlie's wounded one, healing it with that brief contact. she nodded to him and then let his hand go, ranging ahead and looking about. "oh-since we are traveling together you don't need to buy any veggies or fruit when we get to the market. i can take care of that-speaking of which. do you mind helping me look for a place that looks like it gets a lot of sun and a fair amount of water where lots of plants are growing?" she always looked for places like that

Charlie was not liking the ball of light, his mind kept on trying to relax, but he was not going to lull into a false sense of security, looking up and around for the shadows, only to find none. She tensed again when Mada's hand slipped into hers, making sure the other was wearing gloves before allowing the contact before she slipped away again. Mada was certainly bustling with energy, enough for Charlie and Lucas, and speaking of Lucas. "I don't like skin on skin contact." He said, slowing down to walk beside the man. The only parts of skin showing on the hermaphrodite were her hands, neck and face, and her ears if you really wanted to touch those. And Mada was twittering around again, her pink pigtails swaying back and forth as she walked. How old was she? She had bows in her hair. It bugged him, deeply. A place for plants to grow, well that could be anywhere, and considering water was scarce, it had to be somewhere with shade. "I wasn't even aware there was a market." He muttered. She'd always scavenged for food or cans, catching animals and figuring out which plants were edible. He felt really behind on survival, but then again he'd avoided civilization. Oh, that was right, Charlie avoided it because of contact. Entertained by his shoes he thought a moment before speaking. "You two can go up ahead to the market, I'll walk around it and look for a place. How far ahead are we walking?" He asked toward both Mada and Lucas. Lucas had been tired, and Charlie could walk for a few days before deciding to take a break due to sheer exhaustion. As a priestess, her job was to help people so no doubt she would take up a lot of time in the market just helping and curing people. The average person walked a mile an hour, and because Mada was carrying a bag, Charlie had his own small bag attached to his hip, and Lucas was again, exhausted. He predicted another mile or two before they took another break. (( I have writer's block for pirates /dies ))

Lucas Balmore Lucas looked to the other when he said that he did not like skin to skin contact. This confused Luke for a moment but he shrugged it off, if Charlie had personal boundaries he would respect them. Both their attentions were back to Mada who was ahead of them, the female seemed so much like a little kid at times. Lucas got the feeling that these two strangers were special in a similar way that he was, with unique abilities. He looked back to Charlie with a questioning face as the other said he would go around the market. Did he not like others? Again, Lucas did not question the others motives, he knew that everyone had their own secretes, and would keep them to themselves or reveal them when they saw fit. Luke then looked to Mada. "Ok, how much farther to the market?" he asked as they continued to walk. ((Thats ok))

Mada cocked her head to the side and looked at Charlie, "that's ok if you don't want to go, hun. but make sure to not abandon us, ok? cuz' if you try to i'll only stalk you." she winked and then peered around a building, "darn-" there had been plot of land, but it was covered in metal rubble. not good for growing plants. "how far? oh-let's see...." she looked around, and then gauged how fast they were walking, "about an hour-give or take a few minutes. all the real good places to camp around it are taken by the people who run it, but they stay close so if we rang out a bit we'll find a place to sit for a bi-AHA!" they rounded another corner and she found a good plot of land. "perfect! who wants apples?" she could feel there was a water source under them which was just what the growing plants would need. she dug into her bag and pulled out a thick pouch of apple seeds. "stay back a bit, ok?" she hummed as she moved, planting the seeds at an almost super human speed, finishing with the small plot of land quickly. "Now, grow, grow, GROW!" she chanted childishly as she spun in a circle around the area. sure enough, with every time she said it, the seeds became sprouts, then saplings and finally full grown trees already bearing fruit. Mada turned to her companions and winked, "just call me Johnny Appleseed."

The teen caught Lucas's curious stare, and he gave a blank one back before looking forward again. He really wasn't jumping at the chance to be in a possible hustling bustling marketplace where elbows were bumping elbows and baskets bumping kidneys. If it was the empty sort of marketplace you were analyzed until the seller was positive they had your entire history down to a T. He never cared for them. He was fine with his can of beans and whatever food he could find. Lizards could be quite delicious if you cooked them properly. Mada would stalk her? That actually put her on edge, she'd be stalked? It didn't fit in well, had she followed a crazy person? Then again, after everything that had happened, a lot of people had gone insane, Charlie one of them in the beginning. But she was fine now, for the most part. She still had goosebumps from her nightmare, and the lack of shadows still wasn't helping, hand brushing at the ball of light in hopes of getting rid of it. God those pigtails, bounce bounce bounce, who grew their hair so long in this sort of world? And now she was talking about apples. Ditching might not be so bad, but as the sprouts grew, and grew, and grew, an idea hit Charlie. Just the smallest of ones. "We don't have a lot of supplies, especially not for three people." She started softly, reaching up to pluck a red apple and looking at the skin shine in the light. Pressing a nail into it she waited, pulling it out and watching the smallest drop of juice leak out. "We can trade apples at the market for supplies, or we can show them the water source and let it develop into a city." It was Mada's job to help people, wasn't it? And then he hungrily took a bite, saving the juicy, sweet flavor of a fruit now foreign in this land.
