Keiran stared around himself as more people turned up. More hunters, in theory at least. What… what were they doing? Flirting? Fooling around? Painting useful supplies gold? Did none of them realize the potential, and highly probably, gravity of the situation? Did they all think they’d been called back for some sort of party?
…if this truly was for a party, heaven help someone, he was going to be pissed.
But this behavior… this was absurd. Were they all rookies gallivanting before their first mission, still waiting for their first taste of what was truly to come? No, couldn’t be, even new trainees had seen things that they knew, or ought to know, needed taking seriously. And it was precisely at that moment of thought that Mark leaned up to him. Keiran scowled (more deeply) but refrained from taking a step back despite the smell. He’d smelled worse after all, and was certainly not impressed by this particular man’s attempts at being aggravating.
“Oh? And does that mean you actually finished your mission instead of returning ‘immediately’ as ordered?” the man asked, taking a few steps after Mark as he began to walk away before stopping. He was still trying to charge his weapons after all, he wouldn’t neglect his own preparations. He opted instead to let his voice raise enough to remain clearly heard, “Or are you just that proud of the fact that you neglected to bring anything to facilitate your own personal health and hygiene and were thus unprepared for your mission?” Keiran snapped, the cigarettes themselves weren’t something he was pleased by either, less for the rumors of them being cancerous, if any of them lived long enough to develop complications from smoking then good for them, and more for the general dwindling of health.
Didn’t they cause shortness of breath? Surely his stamina was the worse for the things, and if Em were asking for one on top of the other things the, admittedly pretty enough that she mustn’t have been on too many missions, girl was apparently looking for… He might’ve suggested they go off somewhere and leave the rest of them to do actual work, if it weren’t for the fact that they clearly needed to do preparing themselves. He threw Em, and her would-be suitors, a highly disapproving look, but luckily Velda seemed to beat him to scolding before she left herself. The hunter gave a short nod of agreement as the woman walked away, finally there was a small ray of hope that someone else might at least be attempting competence.
Prepare. Yes. That was very important, probably of the utmost importance, though he’d be better at preparing if he knew what they were supposed to be preparing for. With another scathing glare for the group who’d been fooling around, Keiran returned to his place at the recharging station to make sure everything there was at least doing what it was supposed to do. It didn’t hurt to double-check things, what would hurt was more along the lines of failing to catch a problem in time…
… who was throwing things on the ground? Keiran glanced down at the hat, then at the woman who picked it up and… crammed the grimy disgusting thing back onto her head. Ugh. Hygiene might not be easy to maintain on a mission, but these people didn’t even seem to be trying. Sure he might have had some stubble himself, shaving was not as much a priority as working weapons were, but at least he’d showered. “That smell is a lack of personal hygene, by no means to be confused with 'victory' as some idiots apparently might have you believe,” he informed Heidi rather irritably, adding, "And you might want to learn how to get dressed before you go out." At least she seemed to have showered though. Maybe he ought to lead the rest of them in a group field trip so they could learn what ‘showers’ and ‘washing machines’ were and the proper use of such things. Honestly. There was just no excuse for being disgusting enough to risk potentially getting sick, could they take this seriously or not?

Reuben eyed Remy for a long moment as if gauging if he needed to drag her off and put her to a corner until she cooled down again like he used to do with his daughter when she had temper tantrums but decided against it. The bee in Remy's bonnet would probably go away after a bit of training.
"Gee, Darlin', course I'm gon' train. I was just waitin' on you," he laughed cheerfully as he picked out the dummy closest to Remy and her dummy then summoned up his weapon - a folding chair.
He knew what happened with Remy and her evening of indiscretion but could do little for her except offer her a shoulder to lean on and an ear to lament to when things got a bit much for her. Reuben started to smack his dummy about with the folding chair.
After a couple of thwacks he looked over at Remy, "Ya wanna get somethin' to eat in a bit?"

The moment Becca opened her mouth to scold him, Cody was behind Lex, using him as a meat shield.
A friend would take the bullet for him right? Doesn't matter if it was literally a bullet, RIGHT?
"Such a kind offer. Sadly I'll have to pass on it." He answered seriously, making it look as though this was some life or death decision. Which in his case, it was.
It lasted maybe a minute before he broke out into a grin again; slapping Lex on the back.
"Duunce, my man, that's because you can't outshine a woman. Take Becca here for example," He started to point towards her, before he instinctively re-directed the direction he was pointing to, to her face. "she's got me beat, can't even compete, am I right?" He paused, before ducking behind Lex even more. "You're not going to shoot me for compliments now are you?" He asked, trying to force a worried look on his face, but failed to when the grin refused to fade away.
The grin which only grew wider when Lex started to complain.
"Dude, am I supposed to feel bad for you?" He asked, chuckling a little as he plopped his head on Lex's shoulder and answered Becca.
"Would you rather we changed?"

Reuben had saved Remy from her own temper quite a few times in the past, and it was highly likely that he would be doing it again in the near future. Remy was often too hot-headed for her own good and so it was probably a good thing that she had Reuben around to keep an eye on her. Hesitant to use her chains on a damned dummy, Remy lashed out with a booted foot, slamming her heel against the immobile thing. It felt good to release a little pent up frustration, and she took to slamming her fists into the dummy as well. A few long moments passed before she glanced over at Reuben. She'd always thought the weapon he'd bonded to was a little hilarious, but it suited the huge guy. "Might as well. Ain't nothing going on around here aside from a**-grabbin' and kissyface." She sounded disgusted.

Marsh was not averse to being hauled closer by Em, even if Miyako was making pointed comments about mold in the back of his head. He just grinned like an idiot. "I didn't have any plans," he said. Too many people? The hell there were. Three was just fine with him. He flinched a little as the edge of the spray of water got him as well, and grimaced at Henry. "You could spray him," he suggested, pointing a thumb at Mark. "He could use a shower." Though the guy had slipped Em a new smoke, which was probably a good thing. Nic fits weren't pretty on anyone. Right, Em had asked another question. "Life division," he said. "Been in the field for a while though." He blinked and stared over her shoulder at Lowe, trying to communicate telepathically through sheer force of will. Dude. Dude. She wants in your pants, don't argue with the lady.

Becca glared at the two. When she thought she was safe from their shenanagines, Especially Cody, she let her hands fall. Her eyebrow quirked as he used Lex as a meat shield before smiling, that hadn't changed either.
She appreciated the silent motion of Lex holding Cody back, in case the man decided that copping a feel was worth more then his life. That being said she just sighed and shook her head. Serious demeanor with the two? Totally lost.
"Inspiring words from you Lex, you constantly surprise me with little bouts of wisdom." she didn't mean it to come out so sarcastic but in truth, of the two men, Lex had always seemed the one with a level head, regardless of his passive aggressive yet sarcastic behavior. "I've heard even hunters lose that when they've been here too long." She sombered. The reason she took mission after mission was so she didn't have to think of losing herself. She kept her mind and body exhausted so she didn't have to look back at what she had already lost in the end.
She quirked another eyebrow at Cody's pointing, starting at her chest and then to her chest before flushing. "Perhaps if you didn't sound like a damned fool, I wouldn't be tempted to shoot you. You have a odd way of..." She stared at him before rolling her eyes, "I suppose not, At least Change I mean, If anything, when you anger me enough, I can use you for Target practice." She looked at all the other hunters around before looking at the Runic ones.
She really had no qualms with them, as any means nesscary to get a mission done.
Vee spoke quietly as he observed them with her, oddly serious. He quieted down.
"I wonder why they brought all of us back here." She thought out loud, stepping closer to the two men she had bonded with as well. "I don't like being with all the hunters here." She wasn't the clingy sort but she was also the sort who preferred small groups or herself for a mission. The reason she bonded so well with the two men because they made a small group themselves.

Boys, boys, boys. Em was in her element. She thought Lowe was cute, the way he didn't get what she meant by party. Sweet. Innocent. The poor thing would probably actually expect a party, if it came down to it. She laughed, but her eyes sparkled when Marsh declared his division. "Hey, me too! Sweet, maybe we'll work together." Marsh seemed nice, and at least he wasn't clueless like Lowe. All in all, Em's new friends seemed like a fair bunch of boys. She was sure she liked them all. But off in the not so far distance, she saw someone she liked more. Remy looked so serious beating on those training dummies. She hadn't seen the girl in forever, and that made Em sad. Sad like this. ): That's real sad, folks. She leaned her head back against Lowe, and kept Marsh close, while she watched Remy train. "Isn't she pretty?" Em asked no one in particular. "That's my friend Remy over there. She's so fiesty. It's probably why she's still alive." That's right, they were going on another mission soon! Velda's ominous words hadn't brought Em down, but it reminded her just how easily this could all end. As usual, Em took that as an excuse to live life to the fullest. Her eyes turned up to Marsh, since he was in front of her, and she grinned. "When the clock strikes twelve, I'm going to do something really stupid. I've been planning it for like, ever. But see, that's what you gotta do, you know? Something special, even if you're out on the field. You should bring a noisemaker or something. Or just piss into the wind. Anything that makes a mark on the new year."

Alfaz was laughing in Lowe's head because even if the youth didn't understand, the weapon certainly did. He was abandoning his demands that they go dig through the nearest set of grounds and garbage cans, instead focusing on getting Lowe to understand that Em likely wanted to bang his brains out and that was a very, very good thing.
".... ...." It was hard for Lowe to figure out what to say. He'd never really hit on a girl before but Marsh seemed to know what's going on, so. . . well. "I'm fine if we're following the golden rule."
THAT'S MY BOY.
Hopefully he got his point across in as few words as he was offering. Also his view of Remy was kind of blocked by Em, not a huge loss?

Reuben was fairly zen as far as temper went. His face often held happy and friendly expressions and only darkened on the off chance someone did anger him then he looked downright fierce. Right now he was somewhere in the mix of friendly and fierce mostly because he was training and talking to Remy.
More hitting with the chair. The urge to perform a suplex on the dummy was rising.
Then Remy spoke up and he was flustered, "Ah..yeh, yer right. A lot of that goes around," he mumbled as he unsummoned his weapon and just kind of batted at the dummy with a large hand, "but maybe there ain't as much at the caf."
He's right. There's probably more.

Marsh looked over to where Remy was training and agreed, "She is pretty." He hoped that Em was as straightforward as she seemed and wouldn't get weird about the guy she'd been hitting on looking at someone else, even if she'd directed his attention that way herself. Girls could be odd like that. He laughed at her declaration that she was going to do something stupid at midnight. "Maybe I'll just kiss the nearest pretty girl," he said, and smiled playfully. ... Lowe had apparently caught on. Marsh stifled a laugh. "It's a good rule to follow," he said, trying to sound serious and completely failing. Miyako hoped that her human at least had protection charms, if he was going to do something stupid. neutral

Remy paused in her thrashing of the dummy, turning to glance at Em once more. She narrowed her eyes when they met Em's, and the barest flicker of a smile danced across her lips before she noticed that someone else was staring in her direction as well. One of Em's boytoys. Go figure. Some things never change. The smile was doused, suffocated and banished from existence before Remy snarled and snapped her arm out, reaching for Reuben's thick arm. "Lets get outta here. I'm ******** famished." Gritting her teeth, Remy tugged Reuben along, passing by Em and her entourage on the way ******** feelings. This was bullshit.

"A'ight," he said as suddenly there was a Remy on his arm and tugging him along which was easily done since he walked along otherwise he'd be a mostly immovable force. As they walked past a group of others he nodded his head and gave them his usual broad smile as they passed.
What? There was tension? What tension? What? It was eminating mostly from Remy? Psshh. No such thing. Reuben was with a well behaved little lady.
"I'm hungry, too. Think they got meatloaf? Never as good as m'mama's but hey it's food!" he chattered along at Remy as they walked.

"Well then I'll try to be near you when it hits." Em smirked up at Marsh, her nose pinching playfully. Lowe had seemed to catch on, and not only that - cool with Marsh coming along? She was so very happy to meet these lovely new people. She bent her head back and gave Lowe a big smile. "That's so nice of you! Sharing is caring, after all. You're a good guy, Lowe." She reached around with one hand and gave him a warm hug. "We'll have ourselves a fun party tonight. I promise. But right now, I have to catch myself a runaway-" Even as she said it, her eyes were on Remy, and as she started to walk by, Em snuck out from between her two new boys and grabbed Remy around the middle, pulling her away. "OH NO YOU DON'T, you think you can get away from me without a hug? Fat chance!" She snuggled her face right into Remy's chest, before peeking back up and pressing her forehead against the other girl's. "Are you gonna visit me tonight, babydoll, or are you still mad at me~" Her last few words were said in a childlike voice, trying to sound far too cute about it.

Remy let out a loud 'oof' when she was pulled back, dark eyes locked on Reuben's face. For a single stunned second, Remy allowed herself to enjoy the feeling of Em's arms locked around her, allowed herself to stare down into those pretty eyes. She hazarded a glance back at Reuben before turning back towards Em only to have the girl bury her face against Remy's chest. whatisevengoingonRemy's lips twisted in a frown before she jerked back, immediately crossing her arms over her chest. "I ain't visiting you tonight, Em," Remy grunted. Had she been speaking to anyone else, Remy would've shoved away and maybe thrown a punch. But this was Em, and despite the lack of reciprocation as far as stupid ******** feelings went, Remy wasn't going to plant her fist right in the middle of Em's face. "Looks like you got yourself plenty of ways to keep yourself occupied." She narrowed her eyes at the other girl before disengaging herself and turning towards Reuben. "Let's go, Reuben," Remy hissed under her breath. ((Remy is beating a hasty retreat!))
