Aww, and now the elf was back on her good side. It was trying to bribe them! That was more her style. That is no doubt why you are more intelligent than your brethren, little creature. She coo'd at it. But unfortunately, we have no need for wealth. We seek only one thing.
She bent in, reached out, and plucked a single hair from it's head. A single word hissed out menacingly. Data.

Jericho's eyes lit up at the words 'name your price'. It sparked the draconic nature within him. It could probably be seen that he was actually considering saying something, but then his hopes were shot as Riley spoke. "No need for wealth?" He asked with a furrowed brow, "Oh."  "Peppermint seeds, of course. We aren't," he looked pointedly at the trio, each in turn, " heathens." Von Elferson sniffed at the purple beast, letting out a loud shriek when she retrieved the single bit of hair from his head. His eyes narrowed and turned as mean as a JOY-filled creature's could. "You may take my hair, you my soggy my clothes or ... or cut off my arm! -- which, by-the-by? I'm left handed. Right then, where was I? -- Ah, yes." Hair! Yes, yes, that would be a fabulous sample... "Perhaps we could contain it in a pen of some sort? A cage, perhaps? Even a trash can could do..." It reached down and tugged at the top hat, trying to wrench it off the creature's head to get at the lovely hair below.

Riley held up the strand of hair, investigating it thoroughly. It glistened supernaturally, and smelled of peppermint and happiness. It utterly repulsed her.
Here, darling. Take this from me before I lose my lunch. She held the strand out to Malodore, before getting down and gently sliding her tentacle up to tug on it's jacket. The fear of touching it had long past.
I want to see what it's made of. Do you know what you're made of inside, little creature? Or shall I check for you? Her expression was oddly pleasant.

Jericho thought about this for a bit. "If I break your fingers, would you still feel that way?" he asked. Right now he wasn't going to be plucking hairs from the elf. He'd leave that science to the other two. He could easily rough up the guy, however. HP: 36 Damage: Status:

Malodore released the hat and accepted the hair, sniffing at it suspiciously. Surely... surely it wasn't wearing cologne? Was it? Terrible little creature. "Mia cara, if you could... intimidate him a touch more?" it said, looking avidly at her for a moment before returning focus to the squirming little elf.

Riley's shoulders lifted as she chuckled darkly, clearly pleased to be asked for such a thing by Malodore. So pleased was she, in fact, that her response was a little nudge into the plague doctor's mind, her version of kissing barely brushing against it's mind. Then she returned her attention to the elf, her tentacle prodding against it's dapper little jacket, trying to needle it's way in.
You did not answer my question, creature. I ask again, do you know what your innards consist of? I will be happy to open you up and see for myself, but I would love to hear your thoughts first.

"JACK DAMMIT!"The smack to the head didn't hurt much but it did well to anger the already cold and irritable dragon. Some smoke billowed out through his lips before he stepped closer and grabbed a hold of the elf's left hand and squeezed hard. Very. Hard.

"I could simply flay it," Malodore said, tugging free a sharp feather and holding it over the elf. "But I fear the proper scientific procedures would prove too invasive and result in dissipation. Such a bother..." It sighed at the waste. "Well... Jericho, my friend, might I ask for my original request?"
It opened its beak in a smile, then snatched the hat away and took a big step back.

As far as she could tell, Malodore was right - there was no real way to get into it without it popping away and losing everything. Still, she'd managed to not only take a sample of its hair, but get a feel for the body as she poked it. She managed one final prod, before finally backing away, giving Jericho some room.
It was very nice to meet you, little intelligent creature. I am only too sad that I will not be devouring your brains this evening. If you return to your home when you disappear, perhaps I will see you again one day. Then, perhaps, I will rectify this loss.
She wiggled her fingers playfully at it.
