Once that fiasco was over, Hel was laughing loudly again, so pleased that Xiu had boldly sang and danced with her this time around, and reached out to grasp the Baku’s good hand and give it an affectionate squeeze. “We went out well, friend!” She commented happily, and then stretched. “But ah, I think that’s enough singing for me tonight.” Hel chuckled and then flopped down to sit on the edge of the stage, giving a loud yawn as well.
“Don’t let me ruin the mood for any others who want to sing, though!” There would be no leaving for the reaper yet, not while Xiu was still here.

Squeezing Hel's hand back, Xiu laughed brightly. "We did! Thank you Hel--that was a lot of fun." She probably wouldn't have even given it a chance had the Valkyrie not pulled her up. She gave the ghoul a one-armed a hug and then drew back, following her back to the couch.
"I think Roch is next!" She chirped, gesturing towards the mic and looking towards the reaper boil.

"Alright," Roch said, heading for the stage and grabbing the mic. "One last song," he said, flipping through the book quickly before typing in the number. He looked at them both, a little smile pulling at the corner of his lips. He hurt, sure. But he felt jackin' good, all at the same time. Sugar, We're Goin' Down started up, and he pulled it off pretty well, if he said so himself.

“It was a lot of fun, indeed!” She returned Xiu’s one armed hug happily, and then flopped onto the couch.
The reaper watched as Roch took the stage once more, and found herself lightly bobbing her head along to the song. Once again, Roch delivered beautifully, and once he was finished, the ghoul leapt up from her seat to give the punk reaper a standing ovation. “Bravo, friend!” She was grinning as well.

Xiu stood up as well, beaming at Roch since it was the only thing that she could do. "You really are talented!" She chirped, wishing that she could clap as well. In the end, she settled for wagging her tail. That got her point across too, right?
"Thank you for letting us use your karaoke booth, Roch! Though looking at the time..." She had just intended to swing by for a few minutes to patch the reaper up, but she had ended up staying over far longer than she intended. Not that she regretted it--it was a lot of fun, and she was always happy to see Hel too!
She had better get going--that homework wasn't going to finish itself! "I have to run, but thank you guys--both of you!" She reached out to hug Hel again, and without hesitating, turned and gave Roch a one-armed hug as well. Drawing back, she looked up at him, her voice firm as she spoke. "If your wounds open up again or something, go to the nurse, or at least call me to let me know, okay?"
Knowing Roch, Xiu didn't expect him to comply but...at least she tried, right? With a small grin to both reapers, the baku retrieved her medical kit and head towards the door. "See you two later!"

"Yeah," he said. "Bye," he added as she left. "Cruel. So... jackin' cruel," he muttered quietly once he was sure she was out of hearing distance. "And you!" he added, turning on Hel. "Why'd you help her turn the dagger?" he demanded, looking like a little boy that'd been betrayed by his new best friend.

“ Aww, I am sad to see you go friend, but I understand.” She returned the Baku’s hug, and watched as she hugged the punk reaper. Hel gave a wave. “ Have a good evening, Xiu!” She watched as the Baku went through the door…and then looked dismayed. Oh snap, she forgot to ask Xiu what she wanted to tal— The reaper started as something vibrated from her tunic pocket, and she dug around until she found her phone. Oh wow, she was carrying that around today? Amazing. Oh a text! She flipped her phone open and looked at it: Xiu Text Hel, can we meet up sometime? I didn't get a chance to talk to you about that...thing I...wanted to talk about. Hel replied: Hel Text I was wondering! Yes of course, just let me know when and where, I am free anytime. She closed her phone, slipping it back into her pocket, and startled once more when Roch seemed to round on her. The valkyrie grinned a bit, looking sheepish. “ Turn the dagger?” She questioned, “ Roch, you can’t be upset! You know you would have been just as adamant about Xiu receiving the proper treatment if she was bleeding all over her couch at night too.”

He just looked at her. "Yeeeah, but I--it's--that's--I just..." He was bright red by this time and pouting. "How the hell am I gonna get over her when she's like--like that?" he complained. "It ain't fair! How can I NOT get mixed signals when she's so jackin' worried about me? And I know she's like that with everybody, right? But..."
He let out a frustrated hiss of air.

The reaper listened with a tilt on her head, drumming her fingers on her knees.
“…Ah…I can see what you mean.” She murmured, a bit amused at how flustered the grim reaper was becoming about this. “You are right though…she’s very dedicated to all of her friends…and I think there should be comfort in the fact that no matter what happens, she will always be your friend, and that you are fortunate enough to have met her and have her in your life.” Woah…where was Hel spouting off such mature words? Who knew.

He gave her a dirty look. "Do you REALLY think I wanna listen to that line right now?" he said. "You, of all people, should know just how pathetic that sounds from where I'm standing."

Hel made a face at the dirty look she was getting.
“If you’re not going to listen to the line now, Roch, then when?” The ghoul questioned. “When will be a good time?” She made another face. “Pathetic? No, pathetic is losing a good friend because you let yourself become too distant and withdrawn from them…”

He sighed. "Yeah," he said as he turned away from her. "Yeah, I know." He shoved his hands in his pockets, his shoulders slumping. "I just... I just need a little longer," he said quietly. "Just a little longer."

The ghoul pushed herself up of the couch and meandered towards the punk reaper so that she was facing him. Hel rested her hands on her hips as she stared up at him. “…I think…it’s okay to hurt…and I think if you explained it to her that you just needed some time to yourself…I think she’d understand.”
Hel nodded her head. “Xiu is a very good ghoul. She’d understand.”

"But... y'know, it's easy saying stuff like that to you, but sayin' it to her? I don't--Yeah. You know what? I'm gonna take the exam, and get into year two, and I'm gonna go home for a bit. She'll accept that as an excuse, right? Then it won't be personal, y'know, about her."
But it would be. Mostly.
"And I miss them," he added with a little twitch of the lips. "Bones, Mrs. Wheedle, Fang's in the pokey, sure, but the other guys aren't. I need... I want to see them."

She listened to Roch’s plan, and then gave a nod of her head. “It’s…not as bad as it could be…” Excuses…excuses weren’t good…but she could see where Roch was coming from, definitely. Heh…going home. Would she go home after her exam…should she?
“Ah well…if you miss them, then go see them.” Hel agreed with a nod. “Take that time to recuperate as well.”
