Kryl looked at him, "What do you think on the issue? Is love a real possibility?" She tilted her head to the side as she smiled at him. She of course believed in love. Her mother and father had a real connection, a love that was so profound, so overwhelming that it was a little sicking to watch sometimes. But that could be because they are her parents.
"Or do you believe love is just a sweeter word for lust?"

Tony snapped out of his pensive mood and laughed, shaking his head. "Oh, I certainly believe in love! When you're as chummy with lust as I am, you can feel that little void inside you. The one that whispers something about how lust never satisfies you for long, and keeps up its siren call. Oh yes, I certainly believe love exists.
Do I believe I'll find it?" Tony shrugged. "Now that is the real question. I honestly don't know. When you always do what you've always done, you always get what you've always got. And baby I-," he smiled at Kryl, "-haven't changed my ways in a long, loooong time."

The phim vixen looked down at him and cocked her head. She was intrigued by his explanation of love. Though she had never felt that void before, she also had never experienced lust. So perhaps it was that she had never felt the void because she couldn't sense whether it was there or not. Kryl decided that she needed to have more experiences in her life.
"I have never lusted....or loved anyone that was not in my family. I do believe it is possible to love someone though."

"Well of course it's possible to love someone, you just admitted you loved your family," Tony said, grinning with humor. "It's actually very easy to fall in love. Maintaining it, that's the hard part. With family you've got blood to tie you together, so it's a bit easier.
With someone you met there's usually an initial spark. The spark always dies though, and the trick is to make sure you have something deep enough that you can still call it love when the spark's gone. Otherwise your relationship dies with the spark."
He scratched his head, thinking. "Am I making much sense? I could elaborate more on the whole spark thing, if you need me to."

Kryl looked at him, "You know what I meant...to love someone that you are not related too. It is a different kind of love I am told." The phim stopped and listened to the rest of his speech. The things that he was saying did make sense to her, at least as much as they could with what little she knew of romantic love.
"You seem to know a lot about this. Does that mean that you had this...spark before and it died?" The female looked at him interested. She couldn't help it. The only foxes in love she had ever known were her parents. And that was yucky.

Tony laughed and shook his head, though not in any kind of denial. "Have I felt a spark before? Babe, I've been seeing sparks since I was old enough to be called grown-up. Heck, I see sparks right now."
He gave a short chuckle and shrugged his shoulders.
"You'd be surprised at how easier feelings can muddle with your mind. Doesn't take much to decide you're attracted to someone." He expression turned pensive. "After that, it's kinda like this weird, complicated dance. Sparks don't always die.....in a simple manner. I mean some do, but most seem to try to muddle up you life somehow. Introduce complications."
The pensive expression was gone, and Tony laughed again. "But hey, soon as the next spark shows up, no matter what you went through before, you're always tempted again." He took a few steps closer to Kryl. "Funny how hard it is to resist, even when you know things are probably gonna end badly."

Kryl listened to him, then took on a serious, but slightly sadden expression. "But....isn't that sad." The phim looked down at the normal male, her wings adjusting behind her back, fluffing up slightly, before once against folding against her back.
"I mean....you feel a spark...truly start to care for someone and then...the spark just...goes away?" The vixen shook her head, "I don't understand....what if you really love the person. Can the spark still go away?" She was of course thinking about her parents. They had been together a long time, and they seemed to genuinely love each other. Would their spark die someday? The thought was so disturbing that she shuddered.
"I don't want a spark if it means that I can't stay in love with someone for the rest of my life....and I want to truly be in love one day....with my mate..."

Tony rubbed at the back of his head. Wow, this coversation had taken a turn for the slightly awkward. Feelings weren't really his thing, especially talking about them. Truthfully, that was. He was the master of deflecting when it came to the subject.
But it looked like he'd kinda goofed and upset Kryl a bit. He hated seeing that cute face so upset! He quickly tried to come up with a way to cheer her up while still making sense. And truthful. Deities, if he lied now it could totally end up damaging the female!
Mentally he made a note that if he fixed this and managed to cheer Kryl up, he was not bringing up feelings and romance again...
"It's not sad, not really. I mean," he paused, trying to find words again. "Maybe going at this from more of a nature analogy would help. Go with me on this. Let's just say that sparks equal love.
Love is sorta like a temporary madness. It erupts like an earthquake and then subsides. That spark, that initial attraction we tell ourselves is the start of love, imagine that being the start of the earthquake, and when it subsides you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots have become so wrapped around the other person's roots that you just can't imagine ever being without them. Because that's what love is. Love's not breathlessness, it's not excitement, it's not a bunch of promises of eternal passion. That's just being "in love" which any of us can convince ourselves we are."
Tony paused, looking very embarassed at the huge speech he'd just given. He rubbed at the back of his head, looking off to the side. "Dunno if that helped any or made it worse," he said, chuckling softly to cover his embarassment.

Krylaris looked at the male as he spoke, listening to him very intently. Though she was not wise in the ways of love, what he said did seem to make sense to her, therefore she accepted it without proof. Naturally it seemed like common sense so she simply decided to nod to him.
"I believe that I am understanding this 'love' better now. It is very different from the love I have for my family....It is very...strange to me....thinking of sparks......and windy roots entwined. But i believe I see what you are trying to say."
The phim smiled at him softly.
"Coming from a male that seems to not aspire to find love, you seem to know a lot about it. I think that secretly you might be a hopeless romantic Tony." Kryl leaned down to nuzzle the male, in thanks for explaining things to her so clearly.

Tony leaned into the nuzzle Kryl gave him a bit farther than she probably meant, so that he was pressed right up against her. He laughed and winked at the Phim. "Who, me? Well I'm very romantic. I could show you just how romantic if you want...," he trailed off, giving her a teasing side-long glance.

"I am not sure how you intend to prove that you are romantic, but I have to say that the idea intrigues me." Krylaris smiled down at the normal softly, trustingly. She had never really considered herself a naive vixen, but she was far more innocent to the ways of love then she had originally thought. Perhaps she should have gotten more instruction from her parents when she was younger, because now being around Anthony she found herself quite perplexed with his behavior. He was flirting, that was obvious. But whether deeper feelings had emerged she could not tell.

Tony tilted his head, wondering how sincere Kryl was being. He was sure she was a guileless a creature as he had ever met and was being completely honest with him, but she also had this air of innocence about her...
"How 'bout we take it slow for now? Saaaay a walk, just chatting?" His gaze was serious. "You seem like a nice girl, not some player like me." He smiled. "Love games like what I play don't really seem like they'd suit you."
