Through what came flying at him wasn't an attack of claws but mud as the Sandshrew literally carved up dirt from the ground threw it .....as the clod of sand and grim few at him as the pokemon smiles.
This was her territory, so she knew where every piece of sand was and even what it contain. For desert pokemon had to go to the bathroom somewhere as she literally sent the dung flying for the pokemon's face.

[ (16-6) + (6-7) = 9 DMG ] -1 to SPEED
The Larvitar hadn't been expecting that and the dirt, dung and other stuff in the soil completely hit him. It actually stung because there were stones mixed in and sliced cut all over him. They were little but there were a lot and blood began to spill. He was enraged for once as he glared at the Sandshrew. The pokemon charged forward, his blood spilling forth on the ground aiming for another Bite attack!

::The Cherubi went to run forward, but Jasmine instead stepped forward there, she turned herself round, placed her back against the oncoming winds, she bit down as she looked to the Cherubi:: Heal yourself before protecting me!
::She stanced herself, let her take the blow... she grunted herself to withstand it::
::And the Cherubi was wordless... she was right that he faced a disadvantage, he needed the power to fight her...::
::He brunted himself ready, he braced and held with her protection, he felt the sunlight still streaming through the forest as he would begin healing himself with Morning Sun!::
::Jasmine just gritted her teeth, they had to work together to make this work!::

There was only one problem....this forest itself only appeared at night ....as the moonlight would shine. The artificial sun he created was enough to only heal a little of the pokemon's strength ....if Jasmine was to hold out against the pokemon's attack it was hard to decide as the counter ...made the Vullaby turn her eyes away as the gust actually cuts into her ....before moving away ...leaving the damage done to the girl as the Vullaby screeched her anger at it all.
Her eyes blood red as she open her small wings, and placed both feet apart.
Cherubi gains ...2 hp

Through the sandshrew had come with that in mind that she wouldn't lay a claw upon her opponent in defense, and she was a sandshrew of her own code. She smirks lightly as the blood, she knew that it was heavier and with what was in that muddy pile she imagine those wounds stung like something awful. Her arms were behind her back as she seems to dance backwards and out of the way of his fangs.
She wouldn't allow herself to be bit, and she wasn't going to let this little offstart off so easily as she prepared her own claws this time. She would teach him about respect, and then both that sorry excuse for a trainer and her pokemon could leave this island with their tails between their legs.
She was smiling at the thought.

The Larvitar's eyes flashed as he saw his opponent easily dodge his attack. What was wrong with him for this battle? He shook his head slightly as if trying to clear it.The wounds on him were hurting but he ignored it at the moment. Concentrate, concentrate. Ryuu couldn't let this pokemon win- he just couldn't. Things just really weren't going his way. He waited for the pokemon to come forward, aiming to move in the opposite direction that his foe charged, watching carefully to avoid the attack.

This time his guess would be right as the sandshrew came at him. Claws ready as she tries to slash him with her claws. A move that before had been easily reflected ...though she thought to herself, if this was going to end ...she wanted it to end with her claws dug deep into her opponent's skin.
She wanted it to be over with by her will and power alone ....as she declares lightly to him.
The Scratch that had failed before ...she knew in her heart wouldn't fail this time.

::Jasmine grimaced, a red streak had opened, her cheek was cut open, as well as up her arm... she had given an opportunity at least... she gazed back with her own red eyes to see the Vullaby blinded by the artificial sunlight...::
Cherubi, now!
::The little grass type ran out from beneath her legs, Tackling straight forward to try and take the Vullaby's legs out from under her!::
::They had to make a good show if they wanted to see off this vulture, make sure there wasn't any meal to be had here!::

Through the bird surprised would actually jump as she flapped her wings. It wasn't enough to get her into the air, but it was enough to get her over the Cherubi as the pokemon lands on the opposite side. Her eyes narrowed, as she turns to face the little pokemon.
Traitor to their kind ...a wild pokemon didn't protect a human.
She clack her beak loudly as she open her wings once more she flap them to together with a resounding boom. She was using Gust again, and this time it was aimed at the Cherubi.

The Larvitar just barely made it out of the way of the Sandshrew's attack. The claws were merely an inch away from his hide as he slid to the left. It left him breathless for a second, but with his head pounding with a slight rush of adrenaline. He turned towards the Sandshrew letting the anger and pain fuel his attack as he charged forward. This time he was going to land an attack on the pokemon that managed to evade him. His mouth was open ready to Bite and latch onto the Sandshrew and teach her a lesson!

::The Cherubi's attack was lacklustre, it just wasn't enough... he'd been bested by Lindbergh in one move... there were sudden flashbacks coming into it all...::
::But as he almost prepared for the worst...::
Leave him alone! ::The girl bellowed out, as something heavy and metal was swung in a wide arc!::
::The bleeding girl stood, her eyes as blood red now as her wounds, something had awakened in her, her crutch was wielded as she went to drive the thing back and away, stop it any way she could!::
::At her encouragement, the Cherubi rushed aside, looking to use the girl's distraction to avoid the blast of wind and try and find another way to help!::

Once more there was no defense as she skips backwards ...to try and let those teeth pass by her. Though she didn't fail to note the speed of the pokemon as her own rage brew underneath the surface at the fact that her claws had once more failed to tear into her opponent.
She wanted him in pieces and she wanted it now. Though she had to smolder that rage as she skips backwards and away ...hoping to let those teeth pass her by.

((Ouch, this is not your day ...the dice goddess is pissed. Quick sacrifice a Mareep or two))

There was no other conclusion as Jasmine was further injured by the attack. The winds ripping into her further ...as the pokemon laughs lightly as she found the meal she had been looking for. With nothing else for her to have to worry about she side steps the girl as she walks to the body of the Cherubi and start to actually eat it right there and then afterall.
Her winds had cut into the human enough ...she knew it wasn't always necessary to cut one's prey in order to make it want to die ....as she dug her beak full into the dead Cherubi and started to fest.
It was over, the pokemon's bravery had only gotten it killed. For Bravery wasn't the way that creature here lived, and now Jasmine was left with a choice ..sit there and continue to watch it, or move onwards.

The Larvitar was lucky as all the anger, frustration and pain had fueled the attack and he bit down harshly on the Sandshrew's tail. Blood actually came from the Bite attack as he backed away, glaring at the pokemon. He started waddling away, watching her as he did. Ryuu needed to know which way to dodge as he tried to weave left and right to avoid the oncoming attack.

::Jasmine was actually blown back, but she clutched the egg safely, she cried out as she hit the ground, something in her leg popped as she lay there momentarily, shaking as she tried to sit up, but the sight that would greet her made her want to be unconscious again::
::The Cherubi had never stood a chance::
::She thought of it more...::
::She gazed the Vullaby and her eyes faltered, between the rose red and the pink... she wanted to get rid of the Vullaby, she wanted to at least give the brave Cherubi a proper burial...::
::But she held the egg close to her...::
::She needed to move away, slowly, painfully, it was only due to her crutch she could manage it, nearly falling through the growth as she tried to move onward... she would return to bury what was left... but for now, Lindbergh was counting on her::
::She couldn't sacrifice her pokémon for her own morals::
... ::The words couldn't come out, tears dripped down under her poncho to the egg... first Lindbergh... then the Cherubi...::
::How many more would die for her this day?::
...I'm sorry. ::She mumbled, pushing herself, gritting her teeth, rest could wait for the dead, she had to keep moving, to find her own way to survive::
