Looking up at him, he looked away, blushing. Well... he hadn't...expected that... When the paw ran through his hair he leaned in closer, just slightly.
"I don't care what you call me..." He whispered, looking away and pawing at the ground. "I'm still sorry... I shouldn't have lied to you." He let out a huff, head lowering onto his paws once more. Russ... he didn't deny that it was girly but he didn't make fun of him, he was really...special..

Russ tapped Ryu on the head gently. "Hey hey hey now! You already apologized. I'm really okay about it alright." He laid down to where he could be eye level again with the other male. Besides, rest would be good for him, and laying down accomplished that.
"I mean, its fine if that was the only thing you lied to me about. After all, we all have something we would prefer to keep to ourselves, whether by not saying it at all or coming up with a lie to cover it." While Russ wasn't okay with lying, as in all the time not just once, Russ also knew that there were some facts in a fox's life that might cause others to make fun of him or her. And if the name Lilac was such a thing for Ryu...then Russ couldn't be mad at him.
He actually couldn't stay mad or be mad at him anyways. He was just too adorable!

Smiling at the male, he winced as another pang of pain went through him, snugging into Russ. Well....time to take advantage of the male being there... Snuggling sounded nice. He had given up on trying to pretend he didn't like the male, just a little. The purple male whimpered, at least the stomach gave him one thing, the chance to snuggle with Russ.
Looking up at the male, he frowned slightly. "Maybe we shouldn't be so close...it might be contagious."

Shouldn't be so close? But...Russ liked Ryu right next to him. Russ liked having the other male rest on his shoulder. But if that was what Ryu wanted...Russ understood. Ryu didn't want him getting sick. And Russ appreciated it.
"All right." Russ stood up and smiled down at the purple male. "You get some sleep. I'll see if I can find something you might be able to keep down alright? We can't have you becoming worse simply because you weren't able to eat."

Watching the male get up, he whined. He really hadn't wanted him to go, but he didn't want the male to get sick, he was right. Nodding softly, he wagged his tail once, got up, and grew the nerve to do what he had wanted to do forever. Kissing the males cheek, he smiled before going back to the comfy bed, flipping his tail under him, groaning slightly with pain, and closing his eyes.
Yea, he was probably pushing it, but.... hell. He didn't care.

Russ stood in shock for the longest moment, staring at Ryu. Had he just...kissed him? Yes it was on the cheek, but it was still a kiss! Russ shook his head. As much as he would love to believe that Ryu meant it, the other male had to be delirous or something. Russ's luck never was good enough to allow him to find a male to love.
But...what if Ryu had meant it? Could it be possible? It was a possibility to explore when Ryu was all better. For now, he had food to go look for. But what? Meat would not be good on a sore stomach. The thought of meat caused another idea to run through his head. Ryu said that he felt sick shortly before he left. That really had not be that long after they had eaten some of that deer.
Could the sore stomach be a result of bad meat? If so, meat was out of the question, for he did not want to make Ryu worse by thinking about the deer. Which left vegetation. Some where around here there was bound to be bland tasting fruit...right?

Ah, Russ left. Lilac fought the urge to open his eyes, he was supposed to be trying to sleep, but.... He had an idea why his stomach hurt at this point. Meat. He had never eaten meat and then eaten all that... Oh, that made sense. He hadn't eaten anything other then the meat and some berries beforehand...
One eye opened, just once. Sadly, Russ was far gone at this point.... Hn. He hoped he would return soon, he wanted to snuggle again..

Russ blew out the deep breath he had filled his lungs with. How hard was it to find the perfect berries for Ryu to eat? The ones he had found were too sour or two sweet, even to hard to eat yet. How could he get Ryu to feel better if he couldn't find the right berries?
Russ stopped short. He had been going by what his tastes were. Just because he had thought that one berry might be sour, didn't mean Ryu would. Ryu lived in this area. He must be used to the berries and like them right? With that, Russ hunted down a large leaf. Carrying it in his mouth, he went back the path he came from, picking berries here and there, placing them in the leaf and then rolling the leaf to where Russ could get the sides in his mouth and not spill a single berry.
Pleased with himself, Russ made his way back into Ryu's den, where he deposited his finds in front of the male. He then moved back a few inches, in case the other was still asleep.

The sound of pawsteps caused Lilac to look up, eyes blearily blinking sleep from them before spotting the berries. Flipping his tail and pulling the berries closer, the purple male folded his paws and merely sniffed the berries then laid his head down.
"Did you eat?" He asked him, looking up at Russ. "I don't want to eat if you haven't.... that's rude. I could share or get you something since you got me food..."

Russ waved off Ryu's worry. "Hey now, I'm taking care of you remember? Once I know you'll be all right, then I'll take care of me okay?" He laid down across from the male, head on paws, looking Ryu in the face. "So go ahead and try some if you feel up to it. You need to keep your strength up."
Russ's tail swished behind him. "I thought maybe berries would be best for what ailed you. I didn't think meat would be so good to try right off the bat with your stomach aching. Didn't want to make it worse." He hoped the berries at least wouldn't make it bad. He'd feel horrible if they did.

Nodding, he approached the berries, beginning to eat. "I'll get better." He said, glancing over at the male. "I'll eat more meat until it doesn't hurt, then we can eat together." Watching Russ, his ears flicked, head turning to the side and away.
"Maybe I should get sick more often..." He muttered to himself lowly, blushing slightly. He didn't mind this, having Russ with him and caring for him... It was really nice.

Russ's face fell. "So it was the meat." Stupid, stupid Russ for insisting that Ryu learn to hunt and eat. It was his fault that this happened. His...If he was by a wall or tree he'd bang his head against it. Never mind that he'd look stupid and hurt himself. It was better than him being okay while Ryu was suffering.
It made his heart lift though, when Ryu said he'd get used to the meat. Just so they could eat together. Did that mean that he didn't blame Russ? That he still wanted Russ with him? And eating together....Russ shook his head. No. It couldn't possibly lead to more. No way. Ryu had changed his name to something more manly. If he did that, there was no way he could like another male.

"Russ?" He looked over at the male, tail flicking side to side in a happy motion. "If I get sick will you always come make me better?" He asked, watching the male.
"Every single time?" It was clear he was considering getting sick, glancing around the den and then outside. Hrm. "Because, if I am going to get used to meat it'll hurt for a few times, but it'll be better when you come to help me~"
He turned to look at Russ and smiled.

Russ eyed Ryu. The male seemed happy that he had become sick. And was he honestly going to intentionally get sick again? Just so Russ could take care of him? Sure, Russ now understood that until Ryu got used to eating meat he'd probably have the same issue he did today, but wouldn't it get better little by little?
"As much as I'm flattered that you think I'm such a great healer, surely it won't be as bad as it was today." Russ grinned. "Besides, you don't need to make yourself sick just so I would stick around." Heck, if Russ had his way he'd stick with Ryu morning, noon, and night.

Watching the male, he whined softly and set his head down. Fine, he'd have to deal with taking Russ out into the metal forest then. Briefly he looked away. Would Russ be disgusted if Lilac... showed interest in him?
...Probably. But still... He flipped his tail over Russ', moving closer to the male, even slightly snuggling into him. "Fine fine. I'll settle with showing you to the metal forest." He mewed quietly, tiredly.
