Tris Tris smiled slightly as Harumi agreed to his request, pleased that his ploy had worked. The Ditto nodded in agreement to her warning that it would be a harder attack than before, paying it some mind but not too much. Even though his form was that of a Wynaut right now he was still far older and more experienced than she was which gave him an edge that she wouldn't have for quite a while. "Show me what you can do," he said with a grin, standing patiently and watching as she raced forward toward him yet again, only this time not intending to stand there quite so defenselessly. He figured that she'd have guessed something was strange by now so he was ready for whatever twist she could throw at him.
When she got close enough that she would soon be within arm's length, the Eevee jumped up into the air to Tris' evident surprise. However, unfortunately for her clever plan, Tris was always expecting the unexpected and knew just how to adapt accordingly. When she landed behind his back, Tris spun around in time to have her Tackle hit him head on instead of to his back. "Good one!" he said to her, even as she hit him, his grin intensifying and eyes narrowing slightly, "My turn now." His arms had come up in a defensive position, and as the Tackle hit him full force, the feeling of dull pain from where it had hit coursed through and transferred to power, intensifying as he pushed back in a straight on shove that, provided it did what he intended, should send her reeling back from the blow that his Counter had struck. Just because she was young didn't mean he held back. Riley Riley watched, impressed, as Stark scarcely slipped past his Swift Attack. The attack came so close to hitting the Absol more directly that it would have irked him if the attack had been much more than what it was, a demonstration to get his opponent to reconsider his prior assessment. The Eevee's amiable smile was this time met by a grin of his opponent's own, although the latter's was almost of a menacing sort. Riley was undeterred, expression never faltering and never letting his back be turned to the Absol as the Dark Type circled him in a manner not unlike a predator stalking its prey. If the Eevee minded one way or the other he certainly wasn't showing it, instead he stood up straight and tall, looking Stark in the eye and met the Absol's malicious grin with a pleasant look of his own. He wasn't afraid in the slightest and he wanted Stark to know it. An opponent held power over you if you were afraid of them, just as fear kept an audience captivated.
At Stark's compliment, Riley touched a paw to the brim of his hat in acknowledgment of the praise. "I try," he returned smoothly, "What good is fight without any sort of excitement?" On the word "excitement" Riley let his paw fall from where it touched his hat and a trail of sparkles followed it as it returned to the ground. The gleam in his eyes never faded and he awaited the Absol's next move eagerly.
When the fire began to glow in Stark's maw, Riley needed no more warning to anticipate what sort of "trick" the Dark Type was referring to. Eyes glinting with something akin to amusement, the Eevee smirked as the fire flew toward him, keeping just out of its direct path, although he couldn't keep from getting singed a bit by some of the sparks. Still he kept his cool despite the intense heat from the flames and, rather importantly, kept his cloak and hat from falling victim to the flames as well. Riley found himself cut off from where Stark was by a semi-circle of flame that would either have to be circumvented or run through, neither of which was desirable with the Absol surely plotting something on the other side of the flames although he couldn't quite see to make certain of that. Nonchalantly the Eevee smiled, calling out through the fire, "It seems you do have a trick or two," he called through the blaze, "But every good magician knows an escape trick, now don't they?" The Eevee's eyes gleamed slyly and he touched a paw to his hat yet again, a soft glow enveloping him. Stark would find the selfsame thing happening to him and in an instant the Baton Pass did its work and the Absol would find himself standing where Riley had been before while the Eevee meanwhile turned back to face the flames where he'd been moments prior and waited to see how Stark would react.

& & & & ( Blue & Jay & Vertigo & Jo(e)y & Saraph )Easy now Joey, you don't want to hurt her too bad...it was a friendly competition, after all. He was going to start to let go of Anastasia, though it seemed like she had it taken care of...before he had time to react, the green eyed Audino was being pushed away and upwards by an Air Slash, scrambling briefly for balance in the air before landing on the ground, right on his back...more notably, his fluffy butt. Talk about pain in the arse.
It was time to put some strategy into this, though just pounding stuff was okay with him that wouldn't exactly fly here. He looked right at Anastasia, arms crossed as he tried to stand taller. He closed his eyes, when they opened they had a sort of shine to them. Just what was he going to do...
The Audino smile and winked at her, moving his arms so his paws met and formed a small heart. He moved his paws forward and then let them come apart, going to his sides. Small shimmering hearts stood in their place, and about five of them flew towards Anastasia. They began to slowly spin around her, though their speed increased with every time that they went in a full circle. If she didn't get out of there fast, she'd get stuck in his rather girly Attract!
Blue scratched at his neck, "Actually we're a new-ish team...I myself am actually surprised at how quickly our team grew. I'm sure our captain is as well" Or maybe she just hadn't noticed...she got along well with most of them, she didn't seem to mind it.
Jay glanced up at Desdemona, ask and you shall receive. "I tore up my pawpads fighting some Houndour. My cousin made me wear them so they could heal properly" That was Jay for 'I got them because I kick a**, now piss off'
You'd think a Vulpix that sweet-looking wouldn't be able to overpower you that easily. She was really scary sometimes... :: :: ✗ Basilisk :: Ren :: Jonah ✗'Smiling makes the heart happy'. It seemed like he would be stuck with an unhappy heart then...meh, he could live with that. He'd been doing good so far anyways. Still alive, at least. But what could he say to the kid? "Well...well, theres nothing for me to smile about, though. I can't just smile for no reason..."
Ren looked around, Era and Eon...that could be anyone. She couldn't single out a single person that seemed to look like they fit the name. Hopefully, whoever the two were, they would make themselves noticeable soon...Ren herself not hearing the Pikachu calling Phiones name.
Jonahs wings went up instinctively to block the powder snow, the ice wedging itself in the cracks it formed in his wings. Normally he would attack again but...he felt...tired...
Ren picked up on this immediately. She pulled her attantion towards Basilisk, "Do ze cheer bevore he loozes" Basil looked away from her, "Never" if she had hands, she would have facepalmed. "Do it, or I vill show everyone zat picture vrom christmaz" she threatened. He glared up at her, "You wouldn't" "I vould"
Hesitantly, he got to his feet, taking both pom poms in hand as he gave Ren the death glare. He was gonna do it, he was gonna really do it...and then he turned around, arms crossed as he glared at Ren. "I'm not doing it" "you zuck"

Harumi
Harumi growled a slight bit and jumped back after her attempt at a sly tackle attack. Damn, she was counting on that working! She was definitely not counting on the Counter that came afterward, either. She knew she had to think quick as the Wynaut pulled back his arms in order to give enough force to do a bit of damage. For a moment, Harumi felt time slow down just a bit to allow her just a second more time to think. Her poofy tail gave a single flick, and then the idea came to her. Flaring up all over her fur, the Eevee's tail suddenly fluffed up to almost twice its size. She took the biggest step to the side she could and wheeled her rump around, bringing that large target right in front of Tris for the Wynaut to hit. However, most of what her would be hitting would be nothing but fur. There was always the chance, though, that he could slam that attack right into the base of her tail, which would hurt like a b***h. Aiden
Aiden gave a groan and stood up. "Uuuugh, oh well... If I don't get to fight, might as well look for hawtness~" This was how the Umbreon's mind ran, you see. Fighting, sex, food. He was a man's man, it seemed. Except... This man's man had hips that didn't lie... The Umbreon then began to trot off on his quest for tail.

.::Stark::.Stark grinned, nodding at the Eevee's praise, but still maintaining a wary stance- he wasn't sure about what this "magician" was capable of, even behind the barrier of flame. He flexed his claws impatiently as he awaited Riley's next move. At the mention of an escape trick, however, Stark grew somewhat nervous. There was something devilish in how he said it. Stark prepped an attack, awaiting what he assumed was a counterattack, when he started to glow with a soft light. "What--?" was all he had time to utter before the world lurched around him. He looked around, and realized he was on the other side of the flames. He glared through the flames, baffled, at where Riley now sat- where Stark himself had been sitting moments before. He narrowed his eyes, then smiled, a far more genial smile than before. "You're just full of surprises, aren't you? I have to say, I'm impressed! You really know your stuff!" The air in the room suddenly shifted, an ominous wind blowing throughout the field. Stark's grin took a slightly darker cast, though his admiration for the Eevee still won out over his ferality. "I think you'll find that I have some aces still left to play." The air suddenly rippled around him violently, whirling in a vicious tempest around him. He laughed as he launched the wind, slicing through the inferno and the ground as they passed. He stared straight at Riley, flashing a savage grin as he launched a volley of Razor Winds at the magician. Magic your way out of that, if you can, he thought.

Era As Era raced down the bleachers her heart pounded furiously, faster than it would have normally even accounting for her speed, although even that was less than it could have been thanks to her hurt arm. There was something that was driving her that she wasn't entirely certain of, this feeling that she needed to be down at the end. It was inexplicable really, there was just something there that wouldn't let her rest until she found out what was there. Luckily there were plenty of paths to take on foot that made her way relatively clear, she didn't want to disturb her fellow onlookers if at all possible. She picked up snatches of conversations that were taking place here and there, but her concentration was elsewhere and that took up her focus. When at last she reached the opposite end of the bleachers, Era paused for a moment to catch her breath, likely looking very strange to anyone who happened to be over there. As she tried to steady her heartbeat, Era looked down toward the ending battle section.
As it was, there was little to be seen down there currently. The battle was intensely heated, quite literally, by a sea of flames that engulfed one side of it and made what was on the other side rather difficult to make out. As her eyes trailed down to the field, it looked like...an Absol was standing on the visible side? She couldn't really tell, the heat from the flames distorted it into a silhouette but she was fairly certain that it was an Absol. The Pikachu turned her head, putting her good paw to it in quiet frustration, what was she thinking? Of course there wasn't going to be anyone who she'd know here, there had been no real reason for that mad dash, just a weird feeling, maybe fatigue was getting to her. As she prepared to head back, with far less spirit this time, her eyes glanced over the battlefield one last time and she froze as her eyes caught the shadowy figure standing on the opposite side of the flames. Now it looked achingly familiar, the appearance of one who she'd been missing for a long time. Her heart caught in her throat, she turned back to the field, eyes glued to the figure that stood there now. He looked just like... Riley Riley smiled as Stark complimented him yet again, it was nice to be able to show off a bit after being helpless for so long. There were countless scars that were now hidden under his close-cut fur that had been in patches after the Judgement had hit him. It was a daily thing for the Eevee to thank his lucky stars that he was even alive at all. The lightning had come within mere millimeters of his heart; had the situation played out differently he most certainly wouldn't have been here now, he would likely have been a forgotten pile of ash. The thing that had saved him was his necklace, the enchanted sun-shaped charm hanging from his neck even now and glinting in the firelight. It had shone with his will to live, and an Endure to end all others had kept him clinging to life. Now he was here at this contest, pitted against this Absol and fighting at his best and Riley felt gratitude even as the mood suddenly shifted and the Eevee readied himself for Stark's next ploy whatever it might be.
At the mention of aces Riley's expression brightened considerably even as the wind picked up to dangerous speeds. Aces he says? the Eevee thought, staring Stark's maniacal grin down with a pleasant one of his own even as he did, I'll show him what an ace up the sleeve really is. As the Razor Wind attacks were sent flying his way Riley went unnaturally still, eyes closing and breaths steadying. It was almost like he'd fallen asleep so calm and unperturbed did he look. As the wind drew close, suddenly the Eevee began to move. His speed was quick and deft and he raced through the winds, eyes shut but moving as if he saw every move. As a matter of fact, he as good as did so. The Detect that he was using made him capable of sensing the places that were safe as opposed to those that were not. When he arrived on the other side of the barrage of Razor Wind attacks, the Eevee's eyes opened with a smirk. "A good magician doesn't have to see to be able to predict what will happen," He said to Stark, glancing idly at the Absol as if the feat he'd attempted had been nothing.
"Now then," the Eevee said, ruffled from the wind but certainly nowhere close to defeated, "You mentioned something about having aces left to play..." Riley's eyes sparkled as he lifted a paw, cards suddenly springing up all about him, "Mind if I use one of my own?" As suddenly as they'd appeared the majority of the playing cards dispersed brightly leaving only one in the Eevee's paw. In another instant he threw the Trump Card, backed by a Secret Power that made it difficult to avoid as it moved quickly, backed as if by the same wind Riley had previously avoided. Stark would have to move fast to get out of the way of this: the ace of clubs and the beginning of Riley's winning hand. Tris Tris' eyes widened in surprise as Harumi sidestepped his counter, causing the attack to hit where it would be least effective. Still the Ditto followed through with the move, pushing until he connected with some sort of thing that wasn't fur. He couldn't tell exactly where it was considering how much fur there was but the point being that he'd connected with something. Without waiting for a reaction to his attack Tris doubled back a few steps from the Eevee, panting a bit; Wynaut's bodies really weren't meant for evasive maneuvers. "How are you faring Haru?" he asked teasingly, "Need a break?" Take a hit, give one back, that was the way a Wynaut's game worked and that was what he was playing at. He was ready for her attack whenever it came. Phione & Eon Phione's face took on a pouting expression at Basilisk's response, crossing his arms quite childishly, it seemed like the Snivy just didn't get it. "Basil, not need a reason!" he protested, "Just smile!" The little Water Type didn't understand at all how someone could not smile, it just didn't make sense in his mind. Everyone smiled now and then, even if they didn't smile a lot. Everyone was happy sometimes, everyone. As the ghost lady and Basilisk argued about some sort of cheer, Phione sulked quietly to himself. He didn't really feel very cheerful anymore, he wanted Era or Eon here to agree with him, to tell him that everyone did smile. "If Basil won't cheer he should smile," Phione piped up, looking slightly indignantly at the Grass Type. He wasn't trying to be sulky or annoying, the child just wanted reassurance, he was beginning to fear that maybe the snake-like Pokemon really couldn't smile, which made him sad.
Eon hurried through the crowd, beginning to dread that Phione had somehow ended up down in the fighting arena. The Pikachu was seriously worried, if that had happened there was no telling what state the little Pokemon would be in once this was over. "Phione where are you..." he muttered through clenched teeth, panicking more than a little bit. Then, suddenly, the Pikachu spotted a familiar shade of blue in the crowd. Sure enough, when he looked closer it was Phione himself. He was with a strange Snivy and Misdreavus who Eon had never seen before, but that was irrelevant; what was important was that he had found the little Pokemon. "Phione!" he called out in relief, causing the little Water Type to turn around, face lighting up at the sight of Eon. The male Pikachu raced forward and wrapped his arms around the child in a hug, "Oh, Phione, thank goodness you're alright." He nodded to the Snivy and Misdreavus but said nothing, taking a moment to hug Phione close and breathe again; it was alright, it would be alright now.

KataraThe moment the water relented Katara sprang forward like a spear. Blinded by the water in her eyes she snapped at where Oliver had been before he dodged aside, and thus obviously caught nothing but air. Shaking her head to throw off the remaining water she turned to focus her eyes on the Poliwrath, now fully armed again. This didn't deter Katara at all from simply throwing herself at him, razor-edged wings beating as she attempted to simply land on the Poliwrath to pin him down. She did not fear his knives, not with her armour. Rozul "No fair why do you get to be the head!?" "You were this entire time it's mine turn!" "But I'm not done yet!" Rozul seemed to be distracted, as if he wasn't paying attention to his opponent. In fact, said Pikachu seemed to collapse...weirdly, so that he was flailing on his side again... moments before the Fire Spin hit. The Pikachu, well, caught on fire. The skin began to burn unnaturally fast, and something burst out of it. Two somethings. Rojo && Azul "Look what you've done now!" "It's not my fault! You're the one who threw me off!" "We said that I'd be the head!" "You said that! I wanted a turn too!"Faran seemingly forgotten, the plusle and minum promptly jumped onto each other in a ball of flying sparks, biting and scratching.

ImitiThe two fireballs still in the air suddenly veered off to the side and burst harmlessly against the barrier when Finian declared his surrender. "Alright. Here, let's go get you to the first aid station." It seemed to him that Finian's injuries weren't actually serious. As such, Imiti's healing abilities weren't necessary. However, it might not be a good idea to leave a Guild member bruised all over. OliverOliver stood his ground as Katara bore down on him, then stepped to the side and lashed out with a knife. The knife glanced off the Skarmory's wing and broke, doing exactly nothing. His other knife he brought forward in a desparate attempt to parry the still oncoming wing. One complicated moment later he was on the ground, directly underneath one of Katara's feet, his hands keeping the talons from puncturing his skin. Let's see, any way out of this without--no, didn't look like it. The wings were too much of a threat. "Alright, you win."

 Solaris
Solaris had hopped off the stage before the fights had even begun, choosing instead of rest under the canvas at one of the stations. This was boring. He didn't want to be here. At least he wasn't working, but other stuff would've been better. If his Aunt hadn't told him to do this he would've left a long time ago. The time dully passed by and the Espeon eventually looked at the small hanging clock that kept the time marked. Well... It was late enough now. He could end this. With a quiet crack, the Espeon disappeared and a few moments later a loud, pre-recorded message erupted from a few speakers around the field. It was Minerva's voice. "Good job, everyone. I hope you've all enjoyed your time today and I hope that the bonds you have forged today will grow as your experience no doubt has. I thank you all for coming. The services and tables that were established will remain open for one hour before closing. Should you need water or medical attention, please seek it immediately. Stay strong, all of you." The message cut off, suggesting that it was the end of the event.
-----
And of course, with the end of the event, comes rewards! Whoooooooooooooo! Regardless of whether or not you put anyone in a fight, everyone gains Three mission points Additionally, for every person you put into a fight you gain A TM of your opponent; this may be any move from that pokemon's natural move list. And of course, there's some rewards for good posting! Everyone gets tokens, though some more than others. Tokens Hunter - 8 Red - 6 Cherry - 6 Ahkmill - 5 Cassady - 5 Rich - 4 Kyle - 3 Punx - 3 BBC - 1
Remember that this list is skewed a bit! Some of you posted much more or less than others and got more or less tokens accordingly. Don't dig into it too deeply!
In regards to Tom: You may take Jolteon (for Aiden) if you wish since Conners never posted. In regards to Hunter: Plusle TM or Minum TM, not both. However, with that all said and done, it's not entirely over yet. This thread will be moved (Likely to the Palace subforum) where you may complete your roleplays as you desire. You may either write them forward as if this post happened after the fight ended, have the fight interrupted, whatever.

Faran Faran watched his Fire Spin hit with a yip of joy, alright he'd hit Rozul! It didn't take long though for his jubilation to turn into fear as the Pikachu began to burn. Oh Arceus what had he done!? The Pikachu's skin was being eaten away by by the flames, and the Vulpix watched, completely mortified. "Rozul!" he shouted out in dismay, "Don't move I'll...I'll find somebody to help okay?" The Vulpix looked about anxiously for anyone who might know a Water Type move to put it out, but there was no one he could see from here, he'd just have to run. Faran prepared himself for a run and was just starting to race off when, to his surprise, two figures popped out of the burning Pikachu.
The Vulpix skidded to a halt, nearly toppling over so quickly did he try to stop which succeeded in him falling head over heels on his face. Spitting out some dirt that had gotten in his mouth, Faran turned around to face the ball of sparks that was tumbling on the ground, making out the two figures to be a Plusle and Minun, and a rather familiar pair at that. "Rojo and Azul?!" he said in utmost shock, bounding over to them, "When did you guys get here?!" Faran was trying to comprehend it all, and it left him totally baffled; Rozul the Pikachu had been fighting him, and then suddenly Rozul was gone and Rojo and Azul were here, what could have happened?

.::Stark::.Stark couldn't help but be impressed. He wasn't even angry at the Eevee for dodging his attacks. It was just that plain cool, how he did what he did. Stark watched, ready and waiting, as Riley dodged his Razor Wind barrage so effortlessly. Stark had seen Detect before, but never used so naturally. This kid was good. Stark grinned as Riley mentioned the "aces" comment- that one was put in purely for the magician's benefit. True to his predictions, the Eevee summoned a Trump Card attack, which then flew at abnormal speeds toward Stark. He'd never dodge it in time... ...If he were intending to dodge that is. Stark grinned, and with a flick of his thoughts, slashed the card in two. The card fluttered in two halves to the ground, almost pitifully, as Stark looked up at the Eevee. He grinned, all pretense of disdain or disinterest gone now- he was genuinely enjoying himself. "You know, it's not every day I meet someone as close to my own skill level as you. You really are a step above the usual crowd." He smiled fiercely, but still almost in a friendly way. The air rippled around Stark, as though he was radiating intense heat. "So let's cut the crap and get this show on the road, shall we? I wanna see the best tricks you got, 'cause brother," he said, his voice rising in volume and intensity, "I ain't holding back any longer!!" With an intense roar, Stark sent a barrage of Psycho Cuts at the Eevee, the air howling around them as they sliced through toward their target. The preamble was over; the show was finally on.

Riley Riley watched Stark cut down his card without so much as blinking in surprise. He'd gotten a feel for his opponent by now and didn't expect anything less of the Absol. This fight's loss of his weakest trump didn't bother him in the slightest, the cards weren't exactly normal in any sense of the word and would return to their normal state immediately after vanishing, which the card that had been torn in two did upon contact with the ground. It was entertaining to have seen the Absol go through such a 180 shift in opinion, Riley found to his pleasure that he didn't seem to be seen as a child who was playing with fire anymore, but rather was being acknowledged by Stark as almost an equal. "Why thank you," he said, touching the brim of his hat (which was remarkably still in place) in a respectful gesture, "I'm happy to be told so." The Eevee was to modest to flat out state it to be true, but there was a sense of accomplishment that flattered him at being told such by as vicious and intense an opponent as Stark.
When the Absol's tone escalated, Riley prepared for something big, grinning with an excitement he hadn't been able to feel in a long time. The thunderous roar of his opponent rung through the air and the onslaught of Psychic attacks raced toward him, but Riley was ready when they came. The Eevee's eyes glistened darkly as he watched them come, waiting for the opportune moment; he couldn't hit the Absol with some of his best since the other Pokemon was a Dark Type, but that didn't mean those moves didn't serve a purpose. Riley touched on the Psychic energy that he harbored within him and, ask the attacks drew close, let the Stored Power release. The shimmering power came out in the form of small white birds, unlike any Pokemon really, which shot out every which way to meet the Psycho Cut attacks head on and cause miniature explosions of Psychic where each attack had been before. With all the distraction of that, the Eevee's position blurred again as he used his method from the beginning of the attack to travel faster than would be expected to get him nearby Stark, where he attempted to hit the Absol with an Iron Tail before bouncing back, regardless of whether the attack hit or not. A knowing sparkle in his eye, Riley grinned. "Careful which way you look," he said as a teasing warning, "Chances are I'm where you least expect."

KataraKatara probably just leaves. She's not into formalities or talking to her opponent, or any sort of social contact really. Rojo && AzulRojo and Azul stopped fight momentarily to both look at Faran, as if they had just remembered he was there. "Hi Faran!" "Hi!" The two scrambled to their feet to run to the Vulpix. "We came for the tournament because it sounded fun!" "You were so awesome Faran! You were all WOOOSH and then BAM and then-" "What did you think of us?" "We were awesome too right?" "We're team Rozul!" "Nu-uh! We're Team Azo!" Cue staring at each other angrily.
