Fleur laughed. "Perfect sense." She paused in stride briefly to make sure her bearings were still good. Satisfied that they were on the right path, Fleur picked up her walk again. "It should be just a little further." The cliff was Fleur's favorite place to sit and think.
Fleur's smile grew as they broke through the trees to see the cliff and its perch, a large rock near the edge. "Come look." It truly was a beautiful view, in Fleur's opinion. While there were some trees, most of it was flowers, of all different colors and looks. And when the wind blew, the colors seemed to blend, the flowers danced. It was so peaceful. So calming.

Kol came up beside Fleur and spotted the view below. "Oh wow," he breathed softly, slowly sitting down next to Fleur. If was like he was afraid if he spoke to loudly or moved quickly the beautiful tranquility of the moment would be shattered.
"I bet the view is just as spectacular when it's only grass, if you've got a wind going," he murmered quietly. "It would look like the ocean. Especially at night lit up by the moon."

Fleur smiled. "I never thought of it that way before." Maybe she would do that one day, come out here at night when the moon was full and look out at the flowers. Or perhaps she'd stay out here today until the sun set. Who knew?
"Any way it looks, its always so peaceful here. I hardly see any large creatures here. Mostly butterflies and some birds. It's like its a sanctuary for small animals." Which was why Fleur never went down into the flower field herself. She was more than happy to just sit up here and watch.

Kol shook his head in disbelief. "I can't believe that something doesn't take advantage of this," he murmured. "A weasel, perhaps, or one of those small breeds of foxes. Maybe even permakits. With the grass and flowers so thick, it would be easy to go unseen."

Fleur was silent as she looked out at the field. "One of these days, one might do that yes. Or it could have happened before, or even now. I never go futher than this, so I could have missed other creatures." Her gaze turned to the sky.
"Its just so peaceful here that I hate to think of others coming to live here and there be possible fighting and what not." She looked back at Eshkol. "It would destroy the magic of this place."

"All magic is seated in illusion," Kol said softly. He turned his head to look at Fleur, and laughed softly. It was a sad kind of laugh, the kind that admits something one would rather wish they could deny.
Kol turned his gaze back to the field below.
"Break through the illusion, and you break the spell. Sometimes it's nice to keep believing in the magic. It's like a balancing act, closing your eyes just enough so that things don't lose their wonder, but keeping them open enough so you aren't rendered blind."
He fell into a pensive silence as he watching the rippling grass below.

Fleur stared at Kol for a moment. "You know, you might just have a calling. Settling down and letting foxes come to you for advice." She looked back at the field.
"I like to think of magic being based on belief. And if that belief gets shattered, there will always be something else to believe in. The magic would never truly die. It just transforms and becomes something new."
She pointed at the flowers. "Like those. Every year when it gets cold, they wither and die. Yet every spring, they come back. And they never look the same. Kind of like life."

"Ah, but they're still flowers. A rose will always be a rose, even if they wither away and new ones grow to take their place. Once an illusion is shattered, or a belief is lost, they're gone forever."
Kol scratched his head, thinking. Finally, "I can't really think of a flower metaphor to go with it that would make sense. All flowers grow back eventually, when beliefs and illusions can't." He chuckled.

Fleur didn't know what to say to that, so she just stayed quiet. Everyone had their own beliefs and ideas about things in life. There was no need to continue a conversation on that path when it was obvious they had different ideas. Fleur supposed that was why she lived so far out where she did. Outside of CeeCee, and Kol, Fleur never saw another fox. She could be here and believe what she wanted without other foxes trying to put their beliefs onto her.
Or was that a bad thing that she lived alone without any company? Would it be better for her to travel, meet others, see what they thought about life? Would she be considered naiive for her way of thinking, for believing everything happened for a reason. That she didn't have to get angry or sad about when something happened?

Kol seemed content to sit in silence for awhile. He was lost in thoughts of his own.
It had been some time since his visit to Reisa in the city. There'd been moments where he thought perhaps he and Reisa would be something more than friends, but in the end they couldn't overcome the gap between their personalities and preferred living styles.
It had opened up a can of doubts inside him. He'd thought Reisa was "the one". When you found "the one", wasn't love supposed to overcome all doubts and uncertainties in the end?
But it hadn't happened like that. So was love wrong, or had Kol been wrong?
It had changed him though. He didn't flirt like he used to, questioned himself and everything else more.
The illusion of the magic of love had cracked for him. It was only cracked though, not shattered into pieces beyond repair. But it was close. If he failed again, the magic would be gone forever.
Kol glanced at Fleur out of the corner of his eye. She believed in magic, and that if one belief broke another was there to take its place. He looked back out over the field. Could he take a chance? Should he take the chance that this female could help mend his own shattered view of magic?

Fleur stared at the sky, watching the clouds as they drifted across the sun. Just like she and Kol, no two clouds were the same. Was that why she was having an enjoyable morning? Because she was with someone else? Because she was able to have a decent conversation? Because he was different than the few foxes she talked to?
With CeeCee it was always talk of play or trying to get Fleur to do something she didn't want to do. With Kol, Fleur's eyes could be open to other things. He already had her thinking about traveling, seeing other places that she never knew about.
Speaking of traveling, Kol said he was simply wandering. "Where will you go from here?"

Kol didn't answer immediately.
"I'm not sure," he said slowly, looking at Fleur. "I thought about....maybe going home for a bit. I haven't seen my parents since I grew up, or any of my siblings. But I don't really know if I wanna go back right now."
Most of Caledonia was all coupled up. It would be tough going home and seeing all the lovey dovey pairings. But no way he was gonna actually admit that...
"I guess...I would pic a direction that looked the most interesting and head that way."

"If not now, when? Why put off till tomorrow what could be done today?" Fleur looked down and adjusted her arm warmers. "I mean, it has been so long already hasn't it? So much might have changed. There might be more to meet there. Or maybe those you did know have come and gone."
Only once she was satisfied with the way her accessories looked, even if she was simply fidgiting, did Fleur look at Kol. "I mean, I know its not my place, but you never know what's going to happen tomorrow, much less in the next few minutes. Something might happen to where you might regret not being there sooner."

"And what if I regret ever going back at all," Kol countered, voice a little husky. He cleared his throat, embarassed, then continued. "I mean what if you're right, and every single thing I know has changed. What's the point? Go back and see my parents? I mean my family was never that close, my sibs and I just kinda drifted away."
Or finding worse, but Kol didn't voice that thought aloud. No good going completely morbid, he'd only depress himself and Fleur. Instead he just shook his head. "I guess if not now, then when I know I'm strong enough." He managed a smile, though it probably looked half-hearted. "Guys don't really put this out much, and if anyone asks you never heard it from me, but we can be more fragile that we look."
((I think your next post puts us on page six. Do you want to wrap the RP up, keep going until it hits a more natural stopping point, or kinda continue this over into a second RP if we're interested in them as a couple.))

Fleur nodded. "There is that. But we can't always be living our lives based on 'what ifs'." The female shrugged. "Like I said, it's not my place; and I surely can't tell you what you should do. It's your life. It's your family. You know them best." Fleur laughed softly and leaned in a little closer to Kol. Lowering her voice, "I promise I won't let anyone know you dared share a secret of the males."
Fleur stood up and stretched. "Even if you don't go back home, I suppose you'll be leaving soon?" Not like he probably planned on stopping here in the first place. To think though, that a chance encounter could bring about so much. Fleur had a lot to think about tonight, when she was trying to fall asleep. She welcomed it.
((I'd say kinda continue into a second rp. I still gotta add you on Skype, but we can hash it out more there))
