She nodded nervously, looking up at the man briefly, then quickly down. When they reached the lake she stepped back, nodded to it, and faintly smiled. "There." Ah! She was such a failure at being friendly. Blushing, the vixen moved to sit under the trees, not thirsty, and watched Pan for a second before looking away.
Her eyes focused ahead, sighing in content relief when a familiar ghost walked past. See... these were the ghosts she was so used to. Not that frightening one from before.

Pan walked by her and murmured "Thank you." before continuing on down to the waters edge. The water looked crystal clear and refreshing. He bent down and lapped up some of the water.
He turned back to look at her and watched as she stared off into space laying under a tree. He softly walked up to her and laid next to her.

When Pan moved beside her she looked over, tail wagging briefly. "Pan." She whispered, looking down. "Your name reminds me of Pandora. Do you know the story behind it?" She asked, head tilting to the side, flipping her tail to fix her hair.

Pan looked at her and smiled a little to see her tail wag. It made him feel good. His ears twitched when he heard his name and gave her his full attention. "Pandora? No I don't know the story behind it. Would you mind telling me?" He asked softly.

Nodding, she looked to the side and flicked her tail.
"Pandora was made by each of the gods, given gifts from each by her traits. She was created from the earth. Given a box to protect that held mankinds all evils, and hope. She opened it out of curiosity and, frightened, closed it before hope could escape, releasing plaques and misery but not hope itself."
She looked over at him, smiling softly. "Though I never thought you were like her. Just that your name is similar."

Pan was listening intently to the story about Pandora. After a moment he asked "Why didn't she open it and let hope out as well?" He didnt understand why she didnt release hope when she had accidentally released the other two. It might have helped the world some if she had.
"Yes I see the similarity in our names."

"She didn't know hope was in there." Was her response, head shaking. Watching the male she flicked her tail around her, head lowering. "When are you going home?" She whispered, slightly sad. She didn't want to see him go....not yet, though he had to go eventually.
There it was, that feeling of hurt again. Of course he would leave, he would go home and she would be alone again. She was a freak, a strange being with an ability that deemed her worthless. Deemed her frightening, deemed her repulsive. She was repulsive. That was her being. She saw the dead and even then sometimes she wondered if they were even truly there. Maybe she was just seeing things. Maybe her head was screwed up.
What she wanted the most wasn't to hear the ghosts. Wasn't to find someone like her. No. What she wanted the most was to make it go away. At first she had loved the ghosts. They were quiet, she was quiet, a perfect match. No. Then Pan entered her life. She was broken compared to the perfect man. She was disgusting beside him.
She was filthy.
Her desire for him to never leave was selfish, for he should not have to be stuck with this freak. He had already been put in danger, already forced to encounter a poltergeist because of her, and what if there was no ghost? What if she was the one freaking out over nothing and he had simply watched her spazz, wondering why the hell he was near her. What the hell she was doing... staring at her like she was a freak.
What if she was crazy? That hurt the most... Her eyes flicked to watched the male, the perfect man. She was lucky to even know him she realized. Her head whipped to the side, shoulders withdrawing closer to her. "Maybe you should go home now."

"That is very unfortunate isn't it. I hope things got better for her after," Pan said a bit sad. It all sounded very depressing and tragic. He nudged her cheek trying to lighten the mood but was knocked a bit off guard by her next comment.
"I didn't really think about going home not that I really have much of a home. It's just a place here or there that I stay at for 2 weeks," he said softly. His ears dropped some. "Do you want me to go?"

"It's probably best you do go home." She grumbled back, ears flicking against her head. "I don't think it's a good idea to be near me for to long." She added softly, shaking her head.
Filthy.
She didn't add more, content with what she had just said. She wasn't going to say more or she'd risk taking it all back. She wanted him to stay, but she knew better.

He watched her for a moment going over in his mind what she just said. "Why do you think its a bad idea to be around you? If you wanted me to leave because you didn't like my precsence I'd surely go but I find nothing wrong with you so again I ask why."

"Because I'm gross." She sputtered, head shaking. "I see weird things, and right now... maybe I'm just crazy? What if they aren't really there? What if.... what if I was mental, Pan?" Her eyes looked up, frightened. What if he ended up hating her? Then she wouldn't have any living friends again...
She'd be alone again..

Pan shook his head, "I don't think your gross in fact you come no where near being gross." He told her in a matter of fact way. He honestly didn't see how she could be gross. "Yes the things you see are odd but you aren't the only one that see's them so that doesn't make you mental and seeing that in general is odd and I seen that black thing to. Probably not as well as you but it was there. You just get to see the friendlier ones that the rest of us dont," He told her with a smile.

As she listened, her head raised, watching him. Slowly, she lowered her head, blushing. "I'm... not weird?" She whispered, her tail flicking around herself. He really was special... he didn't judge her. He didn't hurt her, he just stayed beside her and cared for her..
"Pan." She whispered, head raising. "Come visit me again?"

He shook his head. "No not weird, Unique but we all are in our own way. Its what identifies us from everyone else,"He told her sweetly with a smile on his face.
"Of course I'll come and visit you," He told her kissing her cheek.

Blushing brightly at the kiss, Lainy looked to the ground, nodding gently. "I-I'll be here." She whispered, tail draping around her form tightly.
She... she hoped he kept his promise. She just wanted to see him again, the first man to ever accept her for who she was... She... She found herself almost praying he'd return.. Yet she wouldn't blame him if he didn't.
