Bane just rolled his eyes skyward in a silent plea for patience.
"Deities help me, will you just knock it off? I'm not a brat and I'm not a thing. I'm a Daeva, and this happens to be my home you're invading."
Multi-colored flames flared up around Bane's paws, scorching the grass and lending a burnt smell to the metallic tang of morning fog. He glared at Freya. "And unless you wanna drown in the pull of the tides that's going on right now, you're gonna need this thing to get you back to shore."
Growling softly, Bane abruptly turned around and stalked into the grove, heading into the island. The flames died down as he walked, as did his flare of anger, though a dose of it still simmered as grumpy thoughts chased each other around in his head.
Seems like the Deities didn't answer his request for patience...
((The brat reference is just him remembering Aoi calling him that. He's feeling a touch sensitive atm XD ))

Aoi didn't follow Bane, instead glaring at Freya. Jerking her head towards the way Bane went, she stalked off to a tree and leapt into it, resting her paws under her head.
"Might as well make nice, or you can't get home." With this, she closed her eyes and went to sleep.
Huffing, Freya grumbled at the vixen that was in the tree, shaking her head. Fine... Heading after Bane, she broke out into a sudden run, letting out a sharp: "Wait!" Rushing faster, she found him. "Wait. Please."

"What," Bane barked as he paused, turning a glare at Freya. He closed his eyes and sighed through his nose, and his facial expression relaxed. When he next opened his eyes their expression wasn't as harsh as it had been.
"Apologies for snapping, social skills have never been something I needed before. What," he repeated, in a gentler tone of voice.

Huffing, she shrugged the apology off. "I'm used to it. Aoi was never a social one, either." Pausing, she grumbled to herself, eyes narrowing. "I'm sorry for being a b***h, I suppose. I'm not used to anyone being near Aoi. If anything, she was the one that shoved others away. She rarely sticks near someone, and it pissed me off." She shrugged, tail flipping. This brat was someone she'd normally not apologize towards, but Aoi took an interest in him, even if she denied it. She might as well attempt to play somewhat nice.
"You two are a real piece of work. Natural hermits. Don't you have any friends?"

"None that you would count as such," Bane said, with an air of exaggerated patience. He'd never really understood the whole thing with friends. He had all the company he needed in the small animals that lived on his island, the orchards, the land, the very ocean itself. Who could have asked for more than that?
"You say it like it's a bad thing," he added, resisting the urge to quirk an eyebrow at the vixen.

"It is when you start stealing other peoples friends." Ah, that again. Grimacing, she sucked in a deep breath, opening her eyes to view the other. "I need to stop that. No, it's not a problem. It's how Aoi and I live." Shrugging her shoulders, she briefly fretted over the fact that Aoi may stay at the island for a little longer. She seemed to like it here, and worse of all, this island was the perfect way to seclude herself from people, and Aoi was on a constant search for the perfect place to hide. Once again she grimaced, biting back harsh comments that wanted to snap out.
"I'd like to leave as soon as possible. I don't like islands." She admitted, tail shuddering, though the rest of her stayed put. "It's the fact that I'm most likely many miles away from others that bother me, and being surrounded by water."

"That's why I live here," Bane said, a note of amusement creeping into his voice despite himself. Apparently he didn't live far enough from the mainland, if these two normal vixens could swim out here, but he didn't voice the thought.
He also had to resist the urge to comment about Freya's insistance that he "stole" her friend; more like her friend had press-ganged him into her collection of anti-social hermit friends.
But that would have started a new argument, and Bane's headache was only just starting to fade, so he let it drop.
"Well, I suppose having wings helps," he added to his island comment, after a moment's pause. Said apendages rustled on his back. "We can leave any time you wish. Of course-," he raised an eyebrow, "-if flying bothers you more you just have to wait for the tides to change later in the day."

"I don't mind you flying." She grumbled back, shuddering again. If he dropped her, so help god she would go for his wings. Probably claw them off if she could. If not, she'd claw other things...
"I'll say goodbye to Aoi, then you can kick me off this island." She mused, glancing over at the 'Daeva. Without asking for a response or if he'd like to follow, she padded after her friends familiar scent. Even if she was beyond pissed they were still best friends, and Freya was stupidly loyal.

Bane shrugged and yawned, letting Freya go off on her own so she could chat with Aoi in privacy. This wasn't out of any real vestiges of chivalry; he just didn't have anything to add and didn't want to be a rallying point to more drama.
For that matter he wondered if it might be best to do as he'd threatened and dump Aoi on the mainland as well. Again he dismissed the thought; she seemed tenacious enough to swim right back and make his life a living hell for even daring to do so. That was the excuse he told himself anyway, and he didn't try to look further for any other reasons for his reluctance.

Freya padded ahead, glancing about as she attempted to view her best friend. Aoi's glow illuminated a few branches above, shifting when Freya moved under the tree. Dark eyes peeked from the branches, claws digging into the tree.
"Did you make up?" Her voice was teasing, low and amused. Freya choose to ignore her briefly, focusing on her claws and cleaning them before responding.
"What ever are you talking about? We were best friends from the start." Freya grumbled, though this was enough for Aoi to know the other had. Light eyes met dark, and Aoi leapt from her branch.
"I'm going home. I know you don't plan on coming along, but you better come back to see me soon. Hell. You better not stay here." Aoi merely grunted in response, dipping her head down to nuzzle her best friends cheek.
"Yes, honey." Aoi teased, again, given a rough but playful swat across the face. With the exchange of nuzzles and goodbyes, Freya left the only person she was kind to and drug herself back to Bane, ears back.
"If you drop me, I will murder you." Freya warned, settling on her haunches. She saw glowing from the distance move, Aoi was watching. Tempers must be held.

"You'd have to swim out of the ocean and catch me first, but threat noted," Bane said, resisting the urge to roll his eyes. "And word to the wise, if I drop you cause you hit or bit me, you have no one to blame but yourself." He raised an eyebrow pointedly; he wasn't fooled, he knew there wasn't a truce so much as the female knew she couldn't do anything right now and was biding her time until the appropriate opportunity presented itself.
He didn't wait for her reply, but moved forward purposefully. The sooner he got this trouble-maker off his island, the happier he would be. It looked almost as though he'd walked right on top of the her when he stopped, made some movement like he was rearing, then his wings were spread wide and beating at the air.
Bane launched himself into the sky just as suddenly as he had moved. Tucked up underneath him was bright speck of green, visable even as they gained height. He had his front paws wrapped around Freya's chest, holding her body to him, with his back paws bracing her so she couldn't slid from his grip.
It was very awkward, and a far more intimate form of travel than he was sure either of them were comfortable with. Thankfully the flight wouldn't be a long one.

"DEITIES!" Freya yipped as he hit the skies, ******** this s**t! She was about to squirm, stopped as she realized what that would cost her. Screwing her eyes shut, the vixen muttered snarls and growls at the male, though she kept them quiet and toned down. She was going to die, she was certain.
God damn, Aoi knew she would be this scared! That little minx! Opening her eyes once, she very quickly regretted it, exploding with curses and growls before closing her eyes once more.

Bane growled softly under his breath. He wasn't a transportation service, he was doing this vixen a favor! She should at least pretend to be grateful.
The sight of land was probably highly welcomed by both of them.
They weren't high up; Bane had only been in his steep dive for a couple seconds before he was flaring his wings to slow them down, and flapping them to come in for a gentle landing. (And not the rough landing the vixen deserved!)
He let her go as soon as he was sure she had her balance. "There. Please don't come back to my island, I'll drop Aoi off here when you want to visit."
As Bane whirled around and hurled himself off the cliff, going into a steep dive then snapping his wings open at the last second to soar over the waves, he had to admit that maaaaybe he was just as grumpy and almost as rude as Freya.
((One more post from each of us and this roleplay is offically at the minimum length it needs to be :3 I think we can wrap it up in a couple posts *nods*))

Aoi flicked her tail lazily as she spotted a brown figure flying off, smirking lightly. Ah, he had gotten rid of Freya so fast? She wondered how much hell Freya had given her, though kept this thought quiet. He probably would end up kicking her off if she started pestering him about Freya, and honestly, she had no desire to leave, yet. She liked it here, and perhaps she enjoyed his company. Perhaps. She wasn't about to admit it.
Freya grunted back at Bane before he left. How would he know when she wanted to visit, anyway? She hadn't liked what he said, as if he was allowing Aoi to stay. Why? She didn't see the need for it, besides, Aoi belonged with her. Still, she allowed him to leave without much hassle, padding off.
Aoi stayed in her tree, one paw draped lazily over the limb, awaiting Bane to probably find her and snap at her for allowing Freya to come along. It was amusing, she had to admit, their banter that was. One again, she was keeping her opinions to herself.

Bane spotted Aoi easily from the air. She hadn't moved from the spot she'd been in when he'd flown Freya off, and she was still giving off that blue glow of hers.
He landed a few feet away and busied himself with folding his wings against his back, pointedly not looking at the vixen. Slowly he began to walk towards her tree, still not looking at her. It was only when he was almost directly under her that he stopped and looked up, pink eyes narrowed.
"You and the angry one better work out a system of communication, Firefly. If she comes swimming back here to bother me again I'm dumping you both into the ocean by the mainland." He snorted softly, a handful of bubbles appearing at his feet, as he thought about the unpleasant prospect of angry females hounding him.
He silently started walking away, further onto the island, his image quickly vanishing into the trees he so carefully looked after.
