“I think she might listen.” Well it wasn’t a ringing endorsement from De at least he was optimistic. He licked his mate’s cheek when she said she’d talk to his mother. Who knows the two might even end up friends. When Yuna took of hunting De did as well. He met her by her kill with three rabbits of his own. “No all of this is more than enough… and I think I’ve been out hunted..” He smiled at his mate and offered her the three rabbits to carry while he prepared to drag the deer.
Hael shifted around a bit feeling fidgety and uneasy for some reason. She hoped De came back soon, just sitting here as a ‘guest’ was driving her nuts. She hated it.

Yuna smiled and before she took the rabbit she looked at her mate. "I guess the student has surpassed the teacher, yes?" She went back to where Hael was. She would allow her to eat, before 'talking'. She dropped the rabbits between herself and Hael and sat down. "Go ahead and take what you want Hael.. De and myself will eat whatever is left." She sat close to De and watched Hael.

“I suppose that you have. Or maybe you’re just so beautiful the deer was dazzled that taking it down wasn’t a problem.” He winked at his mate before hauling the deer for her. When he got there the rabbits where between Hael and Yuna. Neither female looked all that thrilled and De felt a cold shiver run up his spine. This was not going to be a pleasant meal.
Hael didn’t even notice De come back she was too busy looking from the rabbits to Yuna. The girl was willing to let Hael pick her meal first? Somehow she had expected Yuna to be more.. vindictive. She smiled and picked up the smallest of the rabbits. “You young ones should make sure to eat your fill.” She finally noticed De and the deer. She laughed. “Though I suppose that won’t be a problem.”

She started to feel the tension between them lift, but only a little. Yuna herself wasn't that hungry, her stomach was too unsettled with what was a head of her. She walked closer to Hael and sat next to her. "If you don't mind, Hael. Would you go for a walk with me. I'd like to talk to you. Woman to woman." She glanced up at De for reassurance. She took a deep breathes. She could do this.... Right?

Smiling at Yuna out of the corner of his muzzle De gave his tail a quick little flick for assurance. He knew the two would be ok. Or at least that’s what he kept telling himself. More than anything he wanted his ‘changed’ mother and his mate to get along. He hoped they could do so, if not for the current generations’ sake then for the future. What if Hael and Yuna hated one another and Yuna had his kits. What would their family be like then?
Hael frowned as her appetite died a miserably quick death. “Very well.” She responded not with anger but still quite cooly to Yuna. She stood up and prepared to follow the wingless vixen on a walk to ‘talk’. Hael gritted her teeth and expected the worst.
(De stop worrying and man up.. Yuna's tougher than you. and Hael needs to lighten up. *is ranting and muses, feel free to ignore.*)

Yuna started down the edge of the lake. "Ok... how to start this..." She sighed and looked over at Hael. "First off, I love your son more than anything, besides my own parents and family." She looked down at the ground. "I want you to be part of that love too..." Great dieties she was sounding like a sap... "Because I know you love your son more than I ever could... after all.. you are his mother." Her eye diverted back to Hael. "Well anyway... I just wanted to let you know I'm not trying to steal him away from you.. .and I want you to be a second mother almost... If you understand what I'm trying to say." After they were a good distance Yuna sat and let Hael take in what she was saying.

Making himself useful De tore apart the deer so that he could make sure everyone got enough to eat. He sighed and looked at the sky wondering if he would have to break up a fight.
Hael made a small strangled noise before launching herself off the ground at Yuna. All of the tension that had been building up in Hael was now released in the more unexpected of ways. She surprised even herself as she found herself wrapping the vixen in a hug. It wasn’t a hug and rough bear hug, but rather the tight embrace of a long lost friend. She didn’t know how to say that was exactly how she felt, but Yuna had nailed it. Much of her had been panicking that she would be cut out her son’s life as he got a mate. She felt tears in her eyes and let go of Yuna very embarrassed. A blush covered her cheeks and for once Hael looked truly like a phim an not like a harping mother.

At first Yuna didn't know what was happening, she cringed and tensed thinking Hael was going to attack! Then she relized it was a hug. She hugged Hael back, shocked that it worked... But It wasn't a ruse. It was the truth, and had been for the longest time. "How bout we head back to De, I bet he is worried." She laughed and was blushing too. Everything seemed right. She was happy, estatic even.

Each passing second was pure torture to De. He could imagine various scenarios in which his mother and his mate hurt one another. Either physically or emotionally. He started pacing not fast, but definitely agitated. His wings where flustered and his tail was fluffed.
Hael laughed lightly. “I’m sure he’s worried we killed one another by now.” Still Hael hadn’t said anything about what Yuna had mentioned she felt obligated to do so even if it was embarrassing. “I’m glad he picked you as a mate… Yuna.” With that said Hael started back. She had finalized in her mind that De and Yuna were a couple. And strangely she was ok with it. And she had that damn deava to thank for it.

"Thanks Hael" Yuna beemed and walked at her side. She could already see De pacing from here. "I think you were right... look." She pointed to her mate in the distance. She laughed and ran foward and pounced De and snuggled into him. "I'm sure you can tell how it went." Laying on him he looked into his eyes, tail wagging furiously.

Unable to keep pacing once Yuna had pounced him De smiled and chuckled at her comment. “Yes I can see how it went. I’m so glad you two can get along. So be honest not as bad as you thought?” At this point her heard his mother’s laughter and he looked up.
“Ha! If you were so confident we wouldn’t have caught you pacing like a fox with their tail just being stepped on.” She winked and Yuna and then moved over to the food to settle down for a nice meal with her family.

Yuna laughed as well and agreed with her mother-in-law. She wiggled off of De after stealing a kiss and took a spot by the food. Now they can eat with out tensions and feeling slightly sick. Then Yuna realized something... "Wait until Yugure hears about this." She grinned at the two.

Smiling ruefully De kissed Yuna and let her get over to the food. He chuckled at Yuna’s comment. “He might not believe you. He’ll probably ask if I took you flying and dropped you on your head.”
Hael blinked at Yuna. “Ah yes your father.. I had forgotten about him. Mmm… Well we can all go pay him a visit later. I think he’ll be quite surprised.” She giggled mischievously and looked down at her food to dig in. “But first let’s eat!”

Yuma wagged her tail. "If that were the case I'm sure he would have a slight vendeta against De." She chuckled to herslef, her dad... sooverprtective, but she loved him no matter what. "I'm sure he is at home with momma." So they could definatley stop by after eating.

De shuttered at the thought of more family fighting. He was a pacifist by nature, and all the fighting with his mother was scary enough. If Yuna’s dad got mad at De well then De might as well just crawl in a hole and die. It would be easier to deal with. “sssccccarrry!”
Hael blinked mid bite. Yuna’s mother? Why had she never thought of Yuna having a mother before? She had always been so focused on who the girl’s father was that it didn’t matter who the mother might be. She silently promised herself that she would be extra nice to Yuna and her mother to make up for her earlier … transgressions. With that settled Hale went back to eating.
