Ryan looked at Sebastian, trying not to laugh. All he could think of was how little kids stay outside when they had to go and just jumped around. A smile broke across his face, and he just couldn't hold it any more. Clutching a near by tree, Ryan shook with laughter, choking on his tears from the pain in his lungs from not being able to breath. Finally catching his breath, Ryan wiped the tears away. Looking back at Sebastian, another round of laughter shook his body. Why is this so funny? Even if his outside appearance seemed to be childish, inside his mind, Ryan was calm and together.

Sebastian quickly arrived in the body infested ruins. There was no one in sight, or at least no one that was alive. "Valik!" he called out. He climbed on top of a pile of rocks and other rubble, trying to look through the smoke the ashes left behind. "Valik!" he called out louder.
Valik lay on the stone ground, trying to answer Sebastian. All that came out was moans. Sebastian continued searching for him, still calling out to him. Eventually, he saw Valik's dark hair and clothing and he knew it was him. He rushed to his side and observed his wounds. Blood covered his body, and there was a gash in his stomach and more on his arms and legs. His lips were dry and dehydrated. Sebastian carefully scooped him up in his arms, and dashed back to his shack.

Sebastian lay Valik on the guest bed next to Boothe's. Boothe opened his eyes and looked over at his little brother's bloody body. Tears flooded Boothe's eyes, and his stomach bulged.
Sebastian quickly tore off Valik's remains of a shirt and threw it to the side of the room. He retrieved two rags from a tall barrel filled with water and began washing the blood off his body. "It's going to be okay, Valik." Sebastian said soothingly.
Valik's breath was shallow, and he was gasping for air. A large hand was on his shoulder, Boothe's. Boothe sobbed lightly. Valik noticed a strange girl at the door. She was intriguing to him. Her blonde hair seemed to glow in the dimmed shack, and her eyes left him in awe. He snapped back to reality as a the gash on his stomach suddenly started to sting. He screamed in pain and gritted his teeth, trying to stay quiet. He breathed hard through the pain.

Valik's eyes darted open. Though his eyes weren't green, they were black with a red tint. His jaw clenched as Selia entered his mind. Something was trying to push her out of his body.
Sebastian threw the bloody rags into the barrel and took the one from Ryan's hand. He applied pressure to the deepest gash, which was on the left side of his stomach. He poured more liquor into it. "Yeah," Sebastian replied, still focused on Valik. "Restrain him. Something's making him go crazy." Sebastian glanced down at Valik's arm. His veins were popping out of his arms and the color was off. It looked silver. Sebastian ignored the image and continued to treat the gash. "Selia, can you take off his pants? There are gashes on his legs." Sebastian said in a quick tone.

Boothe began to sob harder. He hated seeing his little brother in pain, especially when he couldn't do anything about it. He was supposed to protect him, and he would never forgive himself.

Valik struggled against Ryan, making the veins in his neck pop out as well. He let out a moan, that almost sounded like a growl. Sebastian stopped with the liquor and took the cream. He carefully spread it in the gash and around it. The wound was so deep that muscle tissue was showing. As he finished with the cream, he slowly took his hand away from Valik's body. "How did you not die?" he said in a confused tone. Valik didn't answer, just continued to struggle against Ryan. Sebastian got back to work and began mending his leg wounds.

Sebastian looked at Valik's expression and squinted when he noticed his eyes. Acting like he saw nothing he went back to the gashes on his legs. "You're going to be alright, Valik. It's okay." Sebastian said.
Eventually, he finished mending the many wounds. Sebastian wiped his bloody hands off with a wet rag and tossed it into the barrel. He explained to Boothe and Valik that there will be many scars, but Valik will be fine and heal within a week. "Though the gash on his stomach is strange. I've never seen anything like it before. But I'll look in my mother's medicine books and records." he sighed. He had worked on Valik for three hours, now it's nightfall. Sebastian let out a deep breath and ran his hand through his hair.
By now, Valik was much more calm. He still breathed strangely, like a dehydrated dog. Sebastian placed a bottle of elven water in Valik's hand.
Sebastian rubbed his eyes. "There are extra beds. Um, up the ladder." he pointed to a ladder bade of thin sturdy logs that led up to the next level. "There's only two beds. You two go up, I have research to do." with that, Sebastian went into the next room, which held his mother's medical records and the books she wrote herself.
