Leathery wings brushed against the fur on his back as Kashet shifted slightly. He was silent for a couple moments, enjoying this moment of peace, before answering Kyra's question.
"I am probably used to it more than those new here," he agreed, "but no one can withstand being in the full fury of the sun for long without shelter of some kind, not even one born and bred here. The rest is simply achieved through time."
He did wonder from time to time what would happen to him if he ever left the desert for an extended period of time. Doubtless he'd have to reacclimate himself to the heat, but would forest weather be as much of a challenge to him as desert weather possibly was to Kyra? It was certainly an interesting thought.

Kyra laughed, "True. i don't think that anyone could survive in the direct sun for very long. it wouldn't be a very smart thing to do now would it." She shook her head as she stood up and stretched out her wings. "I think it would be best to move to another location." She looked over at the male. "I find myself hungering for a good piece of meat and some fresh water."
Kyra cocked her head to the side, "Are you a solo hunter or would you mind going together. Either is fine with me."

Kashet looked thougtful, scrapping at the rock and pack earth under his paws while he aligned his thoughts aloud. "It is useful to have another along, in order to hunt larger game. Antelope and the mountain goats are very little challenge, but mules can be annoyingly protective of their herdmates and wild oxen and camels are far too big for me to safely take down on my own. I could not eat a whole one before the meat turned in the sun, however, so it has never mattered much before."
Kashet blinked, his gaze focusing on Kyra. "If you would like to attempt to hunt with me then we can try. We should make plans before we leave though, since we have never hunted together. What we should like to hunt, and how we will proceed. In the case of a larger animal, the best strategy would be for one of us to strike a chosen target, to disorient, while the other comes in after for the kill strike. It depends on what we chose."

"You are very detail oriented...." Kyra looked at him thoughtful as she smiled, "Well I would like to differ to your opinion. Since this is your home you would know better then I would. All I ask is for something warm to sink my teeth into. I do not much care what it is." She shrugged her shoulders nonchalantly as she looked at Kashet. "What would you prefer to hunt?"
Honestly it made little difference to her what she ate, Kyra had never really been a picky eater. But she however was looking forward to the hunt. She enjoyed hunting very much, and the idea about being able to hunt with Kashet sounded even more pleasurable to her for some reason. Though she didn't have any idea why.

Kashet chuckled. "By necessity. Mistakes lean more toward the fatal specturm out here." Ruby-shaded eyes looked out over the desert thoughtfully. "How hungry are you? An antelope might be just big enough for both of us to finish without having to worry about other predators." He smiled lightly at Kyra. "I don't know how tired you are, but I think a nap after eating would be nice. Especially once the sun is all the way up. Of course if you've got somewhere you need to be afterwards," he added, trying not to look like this bothered him and not sure why it kinda did, "I can point you in the best direction to take. Spots where are oasis' on the way."

"well...." Kyra listened to her stomach rumble, "I suppose that I am hungry enough." She chuckled as she looked over at the colorful male, wondering mildly what his children would look like with so many colors to work with. Suddenly though she realized where her thoughts had taken her and she snapped out of it. What was she doing? Thinking about this male's children's. It was the most ludacris thing in the world for her to do.
"I do not have anywhere to be presently." Heat rose to her cheeks and she forced herself to avert her eyes from Kashet's. "A nap sounds....nice right about now." She shuffled her feet nervously. What was the matter with her, why was she suddenly so anxious around him?

Kashet smiled sympathetically; he'd been up all night as well so he knew how Kyra felt, though unlike her he'd be planning to be up, and more than once a month usually was up all night. It was cooler, even if there were no thermals to help him fly.
"Then let us make haste. As soon as we fill our bellies we can sleep off the meal, content and sheltered from the worst heat of the day." He walked to the edge of the cliff and threw himself off it, plummeting for a moment and then unfurling his wings with a snap, heading in the direction of the nearest watering hole where prey tended to gather.
He had noticed Kyra's blush, and her averted gaze, and while he flew he puzzled over what it could mean. Was it nothing more than sheerest flattery to himself to think that Kyra might have found him interesting?
((If you want in your post you can do a time skip to after they've made their kill, and even up to them flying back to the cliffs if you want. If not then I'll do a mini skip in my next post.))

Mini Time Skip After filling her belly with a fresh kill, she had followed Kashet back to where he said was coolest to take a nap during the day. She was exhausted from staying up so late, maybe even from all the talking since she was so unaccustomed to it. But as tired as she was, she could not fall asleep for the life of her. She had these butterflies fluttering around inside her stomach, and every time she looked in the direction of Kaset her stomach flipped. What in the hell was wrong with her?
She must have caught a cold or something. Her mind refused to shut off, and all she could think about was the male that was laying not two feet from her. What was he thinking about? What was going to happen when they woke up?

Kashet landed behind Kyra, taking shameless advantage of the fact that by letting her go first he got to see and excellent view of her flying and landing. She was in great physical shape besides being attractive, and it was a pleasure watching her.
He tried to hide that from his face though, knowing some females didn't appreciate being oggled.
"I know I could use a nap, and I'm sure you're feeling the same way about now," Kashet commented, smiling a little and ruby eyes amused. He saw all the tell-tale signs of someone content and sated, and ready to take a nap.
He led Kyra into a cave, set in the side of the mounatin with that convienent little ledge they'd used to land on. The inside was pleasantly cool compared to the rising heat starting up there there, though not so cool that they'd wake up with stiff joints. A thick layer of sand coated the floor, surprising good sleeping material; it could be shaken out of fur and it didn't bother Daeva wings the way it might a Phims.
Kashet paced over to his favorite sleeping spot, a little dent in the stone floor filled with sand and showing previous use. He blinked sleepily up at Kyra, already tired. "Pick any spot you'd like to rest in."

Kyra looked back at the male and held her breath as he smiled. No male had ever held this much sway over her, and it unnerved her that Kashet could make her insides melt with a simple smile. No matter how stunning it made him look. The daeva needed to get her emotions under control before she made a fool of herself in front of Kashet.
"Mm..." She nodded her head, "Yes I would very much like a nap." Kyra followed him into his cave and watched him lay down in the indent in the sand, obviously that was his usual place to sleep. Looking around the inside she chose a space toward the corner of the room. After circling a couple times, she curled up in the sand and placed her head on her front paws. Taking one last look at the male across the room, Kyra noted that he was already asleep so she closed her eyes and succumbed to the darkness that claimed her.

Kashet didn't stay asleep for too very long. By nature he was awake with the sun with the exception of a nap to get through the hottest part of the day, and slept when it vanished. Full moons were the only exception, when he stayed up all night. He'd probably feel tired for a good part of today, but at least he'd sleep well tonight in the sun-warmed sands.
For the moment he laid there drowsily, listening for any sounds of life outside (None, it would have taken a whole herd of beasts for the noise to reach the cave) and to the gentle sound of breathing coming from the corner.
His eyes opened and he just lay there, staring out into open air at the cave mouth and listening to Kyra's gentle breathing. It was a little startling at how natural it felt, not at all like she was intruding or crowding him.
As he lay there Kashet's mind wandered further down the trail of Kyra. How long was she going to sleep, compared to him? Nap or sleep all day? Was she going to leave when she woke up? And what was he going to do? That was the big question, and one that actually scared Kashet a little for all the things that it implied and the threshold he stood at where all sorts of changes awaited him.

Unaware of the eyes watching her, Kyra slept her normal six hours before she slowly started to wake. it was a slow process, that usually included her opening and shutting her eyes for a good fifteen minutes. Finally with a big yawn she forced her eyes to stay open and looked around. The instant she did, Kyra felt her blood run cold. This was not her den.
The fog of sleep however soon started to clear and she remembered that she had followed Kashet home. Being able to breath again, Kyra cocked her head to the side in the hopes of catching a glimpse at said male only to find him staring at her.
Instead of being disturbed by it however, she smiled.
"Good morning Kashet. You must be an early riser. Did I sleep much longer then you did?" She stood up and slowly started to stretch the kinks out of her muscles.

"Depends on how long you've actually been awake," Kashet responded, smiling slightly. He'd been watching Kyra's entire waking process with amusement. It had been kinda cute in the way that babies were cute, and it was a welcome distraction from the uncomfortable feeling rooted firmly in his chest. Speaking of, though...
"So, what are your plans," he asked, internally cringing but knowing it was best to get the question out there and out of the way immediately.

"Only a few moments." She responded, then blinked in surprise at the question. "Oh well..." Kyra settled her wings and sat there looking at him.
"I hadn't really thought about that yet." She tilted her head to the side and tried to gauge his reaction. Did he want her to stay? Was he asking because he wanted her to leave? Tch, there was just no way to read his expression. He masked it perfectly so she had no idea what he was thinking.
"It really depends on a few things...Namely you." Kyra watched him closely.

Kashet turned his gaze down to his front paws, playing with the alabaster flames licking harmlessly around the fur by intensifying and subduing it in an attempt to keep his expression passive. It was the only way to keep himself from blushing a bright enough crimson to match his eyes.
"I rather enjoy your company. If it is not a bother to you I would...very much like it if you chose to stay."
He felt himself cringe a bit mentally. It didn't seem like nearly enough to say, but it would look silly if he tried adding more onto it now. Even if he tried it felt like his throat would catch on the words.
