The enthusiasm building up was just so exciting (and is distracted Shehk's nose from the painful rotting stench), her tail wagging to the point where if she was in less good of shape, it might have gone flying off. Good thing it was held on quite nicely.
"Enthusiasm makes everything work out. If you've got the enthusiasm to be a FEARleader, you'll be taught much more effectively and you'll overall do a better job." Shehk said, grinning. The spiderpom happily munched away on one of the insect spookies it was given, clicking and chittering away. "That's part of why these lovely ladies.." she motioned her arm around to show she meant the spiderpoms, "Are here. Because they're standard use for FEARleaders and if they spook you, might be something to work though."
Shehk grinned, carefully taking the filled out sheets and moving them to the bottom of the clip-board stack, for the sake of neatness and knowing where everything was.

"I think you would make a wonderful FEARleader, too," Syb said to Ash a bit hesitantly. Would she be ignored again? "You both will!" she added with a smile to Muka, since she was positive HE wouldn't ignore her. "Oh, how I hope to be able to come to school," she added, hugging her bag of spookies to her chest. "It seems like so much fun!"

Cady meandered leisurely down the hall to the next booth, which seemed to have quite a crowd. She could just see the sign marked 'FEARleading' above the heads of the potential students mobbing the booth. Those must be some really good spookies.
That was a little surprising, considering the stench coming from that area of the hall, but the mystery was soon solved as she noticed that the group of people were decidedly NOT crowding around one portion of the booth- the side where a rather large and lumpy zombie stood, presumably reading the signs taped to the wall in front of him.
Cady shrugged. She'd do just about anything for spookies. With this in mind, she slipped into the booth area, perilously close to the boiled-boil. "Hey there! I see you've already got some spookies. I bet they're really good, after all there are a lot of people here and they all seem to be eating them. Say, did you know you smell? Like, like A LOT. I could smell you down the hall, and I thought it was the spookies, but I'm glad it wasn't." She added cheerfully, "I've never seen a boil with REAL boils before. Haha, get it? Do you name them? You should, although there are a rather lot of them so I guess it would be hard to remember."
She had a thought, suddenly. It only hurt a little. "SAY! Can you read? What do those signs say?" She asked, while absentmindedly reaching out for a yellow bag of spookies. His smell was honestly so bad it had wrapped it's way right back around to kind of fascinating. She wasn't sure she was brave enough to try to eat around him - her stomach might revolt - but she could stand to converse with him, at least for a little while.
Looking around at the rest of the crowd, she noticed what appeared to be ANOTHER patchwork person. "HEY! You! With the stitches? Have you been to the fitness booth? Because there's a very sweet boil over there who is all sewn together too and he is just the nicest ever, although I think he could use some help because wouldn't you know his mouth is sewn shut? You should stop by sometime, I think he would appreciate it." She nodded sagely. Cady; the matchmaker. Or at least, friendmaker. Right.

Couple of hours. Right . . . Not staying for that long. Even someone as sour as Hurley didn't feel like inflicting his presence upon someone for that long if he could help it. Best to see all the sights and all that sort of junk.
So he really, really didn't mean to zone out like that. He guessed it might be something in the less than stellar brain.
Of course when he got out of his little reverie, he found someone chirping away happily at him about his . . . his boils? Hurley blinked owlishly, and noticed the ghoul had, oddly, the tail of a scorpion. "Er . . . no?" he answered simply, not having thought of such a thing as - as naming the Jacking things. He gave something of a quirky smile. "Think the skin's a rental house - they come and go too much for me to get attached. But, uh . . . Yeah. I can read."
No questions were asked about her illiteracy.
He indicated each line with a thick finger as he paraphrased. "Basically if you get a spookie bag, later on they'll hold a drawing for some prizes, like a chance to go on a date with one of them FEARleaders. Speakin' of . . ."
He turned back to Shehk, who was entertaining several others of varying degrees of enthusiasm. Certainly Hurley thought the patchwork ghoul and banshee could fit the FEARleader bill. "Hey, er . . . Sheh-something, right?" He had bad memory. "Sign says you got special dietary needs on there. Happen to have options to show for me?"

"Seems you are quite the match maker, cousin," a purring voice behind Cady giggled as an arm came around her shoulders. The Sphnix was glad to have someone like Cady around her, she felt at least a bit like her family was around. She missed her home but she knew she had to work on her monster FEAR skills. Tari smiled at her fellow ghoul as she looked over the candy. She purchased an orange bag of spookies. Then she looked to her friend again with a smile.
"So you thinking abuot joining the Fearleaders?" she looked to the booth. She wasn't sure she wanted to be the on the sidelines if they had sports. She'd rather be passing the ball than shaking the pom poms.

Shehk's insides were doing more flips than would be seen at a FEARleader practice when Hurley turned his attention onto her again, her lips tightening a bit.
"It depends on what your diets contrictions are." She leaned back over the booth again, nearly tossing her rear int he air (no panty shots today!), before pulling out another bag and holding it up. "These are safe for canid consumption, for example." she pointed at her ears for emphasis. "I'm a Pricolici so what I can eat is severely limited and I can get sick from food easily."
It was a good thing she liked squirrels so much.

"Hmm." He figured canines could eat whatever the heck they wanted - then again, that was probably why there was a Ghost Dog around the house . . .
By him, the scorpion-tailed one (What were those called again? Jack . . .) was joined by another visiting student, this one furrier. Were they related? She did call her "cousin". Knowing full-well the question wasn't posed towards him, but deciding "what the hell anyway", Hurley injected an answer. "Aw yeah. Excited ghouls, short skirts, candy? What's not to love?" he said with a small sweep at the booth.
And then back to Shehk. What was he about to say again? Er . . .
"You, uh . . . Oh yeah!" Hurley lowered his voice a bit. "You got anything good for sensitive stomachs? I get killer indigestine if I'm not careful. Pass me a bag of something like that and I'll be outta your nose, miss."

Cady grinned enthusiastically. HE COULD READ! Maybe she could deal with the smell if it meant she wouldn't have to try reading things herself. "Thanks! A date, huh? Aren't those like a kind of fruit? They're awful small to share."
"Also, if you rent your skin, you should probably charge more because it seems in high demand. What do boils pay for rent anyway?" She looked confused. Renting your skin? That was really weird. Sarcasm was not a language Cady was fluent in.
As the boil turned back to what she assumed was a FEARleader, she was surprised by the arrival of the sphinx from the cafeteria. She didn't seem to mind the friendly contact, and instead focused on the question, answering after the larger boiled-boil did.
"Oh, well, you know, I don't know. I mean I bet some of the tricks would be fun to do but I think I'd rather be IN the game. Right? I might get bored and like forget to catch someone, and that would be terrible. Besides, I am no good at being a ghouly-ghoul," she admitted. It had never really been her thing. The formal-ish toga and sandals combo she wore today had been her guardian's choice of clothing. Dress to impress, she'd said.

"Oh I quite agree," Tari gave the boil who mentioned ghouls and short skirts a wink before turning back to her manticore cousin. The two looked somewhat similar, save for Tari's longn black hair and lion tail. She laughed and nodded at all she was saying. Her cat eyes danced at the mention of actually playing the sport instead of being on the sidelines. She stretched out her wings before pulling them back against her.
"A ghoul after my own heart. I play Roughby back home so I'm not much of a ghouly-ghoul either. I bet the two of us could really make a good team! Manticore and Sphnix! Those boils wouldn't know what hit them," she laughed and turned to the boiled boil.
"What about you?" she turned to the boil who had been talking to Cady. "Oh, and I'm Nefertari by the way. Just call me Tari."

Sin smiled charmingly at Krovi and held her hand out while she tried not to wrinkle her nose at the nearby foul smelling zombie. Oh Sin had learned a lot of tolerance towards other races, which was probably the only reason she hadn't said anything rude yet. Her perceptions of the world had subtly shifted as she interacted with her fellow students and saw other demons learning to embrace (figuratively and literally) other races as well.
Sin glanced back at Shehk and offered a matching grin with a nod.
"Our new cheers will make you guys do backflips..."
She made sure she had a little space and then tucked in her wings to perform a sudden backflip. Thankfully she had already warmed up so the move wasn't too much of a strain. To the untrained eye it looked effortless, for those who knew what it took to manage a flip like that from a still standing position it was obvious how much the team worked.
The succubus gave Charlie a little wave recognizing him from her exclusive demon party. The long sleeves had left trails of punch in a few placed and she and Alcie had been forced to actually apologize to the cleaning gnomes for it.

Chun Mu approached the FEARleading booth. While she still walked, or floated, around the humans, she had heard of such things as cheerleaders. Maybe FEARleaders were something similar? She didn't know, but it didn't matter. MuMu thought she should get to know as much about the school as she could. She actually had cursory thoughts about maybe joining the FEARleaders if she could, for she did have some dancing skills to help her along. But the thought of talking to many boils made her feel uncomfortable.
She bought a orange and white spookies bag and looked inside. The spookies actually looked kind of appetizing, more so than the cafeteria food, at least. She couldn't wait to turn intangible and get rid of that slush. That would have to wait once she left the open house, as the visitor's pass would probably disallow her to do so. MuMu looked around the booth some more.

Shehk paused for a moment before offering the same bag she was holding out to Hurley without even hesitating. "If my 'I can't eat cookies, cakes, chocolate, most sugar and most anything beyond blood and raw organs' insides can handle these, I'm pretty damned certain yours will be able to as well." she said.
There was no doubt in her mind that it was going to be the case. Because seriously. She was a dog at stomach, afterall.

Muka tangled fingers with Ash and giggled crazily with her. Oh yes! He liked this banshee thus far. She seemed to have a similar sense of humor and always was in a good mood. She also seemed very popular. His father would like that.
When the laughter died down more people found there way over. Muka kept one hand wrapped with Ash's but also threw his other arm around Sybaline. The strix was very happy and very comfortable. Even the awful smell couldn't spoil his mood. "We'll stay in touch of course." It was premature, the open house wasn't going to be over for quite a while, but perhaps he didn't have many friends at home?
Some feline looking ghouls with wings came chattering over and mentioned another patchwork. "OH SYB! Another patchwork!" She was the first he'd met that he could remember and only knew what he'd read. Most patchworks, from what he could tell, didn't get to go to school.

"Another one?" Syb asked, her eyes widening. "Oh how wonderful! I hope he's a student, he's a student, right?" she asked the girl who had called over to them. "Oh, his mouth is sewn shut? That must be troubling, but there's probably a reason, right? I wonder if he'd tell me--oh, he probably can't, can he?"
She was so torn now! One part of her wanted to bask in the glory of FEARleaders and-- "Oh! That was AMAZING!" she said, cheering loudly after Syn did her flip. "Absolutely amazing! I have got to learn how to do that!"

Shehk certainly knew how much had to be put into the maneuver Sin pulled off, clapping at the show her co-captain had put on.
"Very nice, Sin. Very very nice." she beamed. "You've improved on doing that a lot since we started off. Everybody has come a long way since we all started. I have to do a lot of work just to have more things to teach everybody." The pricolici laughed, shaking her head as she did. Not in a 'NO NO NO' shake, but more mirth.
