Felix Silverlight CP: 15 HP:24 "...Ah.." Felix nodded, listening to Kaito's explanation about the Nara. He shrugged, dropping the little lifted flap of the sheet back onto the bed, over the dog who seemed to be sedated... or just asleep at the time. Felix was sort of thankful for that. "..Well, see ya around Kaito." Felix nodded to the boy on his way back out of the room, closing the door behind himself properly and walking back down the hall from the direction he had come. Felix reached up, placing his chin into his hand as he thought about everything so far... from what he could tell at least, it seemed that the dogs would make prime candidates for Ninja trained pets at least, being thorough at using their chakra already in a wild state... It was all starting to make sense. The dogs were setting off the traps in the forest because of their unnatural chakra presence, perhaps the traps were being tricked by that fact into thinking the dogs were people, and causing the pack harm as a result. But the traps could not just be re-programmed, Felix speculated. Even if it would not target the dogs after that, there would be a new loophole in the defense system of the forest, and an 'actual' ninja trained dog would be able to easily penetrate the defenses then... It was a hard lot for the dogs now, from what Felix could figure. Felix knew of course, that his original mission parameters had been to capture or kill two of the wild dogs, with the emphasis on capturing one of them, and he wondered if this new information changed anything... perhaps he should be bringing medical supplies with him to the forest this time...? He was a little unsure of himself though, because he did not know how highly the village would honor these dogs, or if they really wanted them dead. So he determined to just head back out, and hope to run into Rhaim while he was out there for more instructions. "...Thanks for the help." He waved to the two medic's in the front of the building once more on his way out. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Felix returned to the forest and set out from his starting point, with the instructions on the scroll once again... heading in the same general direction that he had been before, to the best he could figure at least. He was on the lookout for Rhaim, and/ or any wild dogs now. If he was following his original mission, then he needed to kill one more dog. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ( Awareness(3) + d20 = ~ )

Back at the camp site of the operation there was no change to the area. Nothing at all to indicate that the goal of the mission had changed. However as Felix began his search again from the area he spotted a very familiar looking canine with a utility pouch held in its' teeth. Unfortunately the dog was a considerable ways off through the woods, out of throwing range for certain. The animal appeared to be doing the exact same thing that it had been doing the first time the Genin found it. It had its' nose buried in the ground sniffing vigorously.
The dog is 2 Sneak posts away and 1 sprinting post away. Cannot move and attack in the same turn.

Felix Silverlight CP:15 HP:24 "...Miss me buddy..." Felix crouched down at the glimpse of his adversary canine, speaking under his breath while he smoothly drew a Kunai from his belt. He knelt in silence for a moment, watching the dog and gauging his distance to it as accurately as possible. Felix knew his speed running over land, walking, and sneaking... three different paces, and guessing at the end result, he would need to move a certain way to get to the dog without it panicking an fleeing. He wanted his senbon back at least though... so he would give this a shot. ..What are you searching for.. The question passed through Felix's mind softly, as he even padded that, trying to move as silently as possible through the shrubbery and forest. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ((stealth(4) + d20 = ~))

The young dog continued sniffing about on the ground sporadically. It was generally shifting in the direction away from Felix, but not so much that it was greatly increasing the distance between them. Its' ears did not perk up, its' hair wasn't standing on end, and it never looked up. Obviously it was still oblivious to the ninja's presence.
Felix is within throwing range. 1 Sneak post to be in Melee range. Cannot move and attack in the same turn.

Felix Silverlight CP:15 HP:24 Felix knew he was in range now, and could try a throw with his Kunai... and so he knelt down where he was, resting there silently. He knew that by throwing this, he risked loosing the dog entirely if it decided to run at the sound. Then again, it could very well become angry and sprint in attack at him, and so he drew his second Kunai, holding it in his left hand while he raised the first quietly above his head, taking steady aim at the canine. After a moment though, his arm lowered, and he decided it was not worth the risk... if he could just get a little closer to it, his chances of turning this battle were more in his favor. Felix slipped his second Kunai back into his belt and proceeded forward as quietly as he could, crouched down so as to not attract attention from it. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ((Stealth(4) + d20 = ~))

The dog still made no noticeable shift in its demeanor as the ninja continued to sneak up on it. Its' back was to Felix and its' face was still pressed as close to the dirt as it could get with the boys' pouch in its' mouth. It padded on slowly away from the boy, zig zagging as if it wasn't entirely certain which way to go. There were no sounds of other dogs in the distance. In fact there were no sounds at all other than the sniffing of the young canine. The which should have tipped the dog off, but did not.
Felix is within melee range. If grappling make sure to add a Strength check. Awareness checks cost 1 post to assess the situation and will not cause the dog to spot Felix or get any further away from him.

Felix Silverlight CP:15 HP:24 Felix paused in his movements, quiet as a shadow... and rather proud of himself for sneaking up on the dog quite this well, at least, to this point. Though... he noticed the silence around himself and felt that something may be a little off with the situation. Of course, it could just be 'himself' that was causing everything to go quiet, then again... that would be giving himself too much credit if he was wrong. Felix was crouched like that, one leg before the other as his body was tensed like a coil, ready to spring on the attack... yet he took a small moment to assess the situation, trying to make sure his conditions were perfect if he could. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ((Awareness(3) + d20 = ~))

As Felix sat still to gather the atmospherics he didn't hear a sound other than the dog. There was no other movement as well. However it was fairly obvious that it was all because of the boy being around that the normal creatures of the area were in hiding. While he was sneaky enough for the clumsy mutt, the residents of the area wanted nothing to do with him. The pause also brought to light a thought to the boy. The dog was likely unable to find the scent it was looking for because the pouch with human scent was held in its' own nose. This smaller animal was by no means on the same level as the previous one he had met.
While the dog did not seem very certain, it was definitely headed somewhere.
Felix is within melee range. If grappling make sure to add a Strength check. If just following the dog use Stealth.

Felix Silverlight CP:15 HP:24 Felix cocked his head a little at the silence of the area... though he could discern no other interference to his current situation, which was a good sign, it still showed that he needed improvement as a Ninja, which was just a lesson of life. After watching the dog for a moment, he did indeed realize that it was sniffing around for something... and by now his curiosity was peaked to an irritating itch, like an itch you get in the middle of your back and cant scratch it no matter how hard you try. Or one that is under your skin. Thinking about itches, Felix had to reach up and scratch his nose a little... smiling faintly at the metaphor. Felix moved forward as quietly as he could... hoping that he could follow the dog to wherever it was searching for, or 'whatever'. What could possibly be so important to a dog? Felix wondered curiously, a... bone..? ...Or just food of some sort perhaps... though he had to admit that this dog was much... cuter? ...than the other one... he was still slightly irritated that it held his pouch of senbon, but thankful that it seemed to enjoy it so much, especially if he had to kill the poor creature later on. Oh god.. was he becoming sentimental toward it now?! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ((Stealth(4) + d20 = ~))

The dog picked up its' pace slightly as it seemed to find the scent it had been looking for and set out after it. In a very short while it came to a clearing that was rather well lit from a hole in the trees above, allowing a wash of sunlight. Laying in the light was one large canine, much larger than the first one that Felix had encountered, a dog about the size of the first one the boy had engaged with, and three small ones just large enough to be no longer called puppies. All five of them were torn up, bloody, bruised, burned and missing large patches of hair. There were no sounds coming from any of the animals including the one that Felix had trailed into the area.
The closest to the Genin was still the one holding his pouch.
Felix is within throwing range. 1 post required to get within melee range. Not close enough to assess the dogs in the clearing.

Felix Silverlight CP:15 HP:24 "..Huh.." Felix whispered under his breath, coming into view of the clearing and spotting the group of canines below. He was taken aback at first, and contemplated fleeing for real, he knew that many dogs, and the large one in particular could easily tear him to shreds if they spotted him... and so he made sure to move with care through the forest, trailing the one holding his pouch still. Something was wrong about the other dogs though, and Felix moved in to get a better look at them, and still see what his trailing dog would do with the situation. He wondered if they were family, and perhaps the little guy was part of this pack or something. As he drew closer, Felix could see that the dogs were it a terrible situation, burned and torn up, missing patches of fur. What in the world could have done this? ..Another Ninja perhaps... Felix wondered if Rhaim had taken care of this particular group, and he felt slightly bad for them though. As much as Felix hated the dogs for the one who attacked him that night, he could 'understand' them... and he felt badly none the less at their death. Felix was in a dilemma now... and he was trying to mentally build up the guts to step forward and attack that dog now... he knew he didn't want to. The mission said to kill it... but he did not want to kill it, did he really have to? ...Felix wondered at his own sentimentality now.. killing a monster such as the bigger dog from the other night was no problem.. especially when it was sick and attacking him madly.. but this docile... adolescent pup? Felix's grip tightened on his Kunai as he could not throw it. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ((Stealth(4) + d20 = ~))

Being in the clearing so near to the other dogs must have given the dog with Felixs' pouch a reason to be more alert. All at once the animal threw its' head over its' shoulder and stared directly at the Genin. It seemed that the canine did not expect to actually find anything though, as it jumped back startled and dropped the utility pouch between itself and the nearest injured dog. The which happened to be the largest one.
The dog that Felix had been tracking was positioned in front of the pack of wounded dogs. It crouched down as it had before it leapt at Felix to grab his pouch earlier and growled at the boy. The entire body of the canine was shaking visibly. There were still no other sounds to be heard.
Felix is within melee range. If grappling make sure to add a Strength check. To assess wounded dogs from a distance use Treat Injury (-5 for distance).

Felix Silverlight CP:15 HP:24 "...Aww..." Felix clenched his eyes shut as the dog spotted him. It was now or never, he could either throw his Kunai and hit it, or he could straight up try and attack it. Neither of which seemed very appealing to him at the moment. But now he had no choice... did he..? He noticed how the dog crouched, as if ready to spring just like before. The only difference was that now Felix held steel between them, his Kunai lifted defensively. He knew that he had no experience dealing with animals, and his chances of it understanding his intentions were a far cry away... but he felt he had to try. Felix backed up slowly, lowering the Kunai to his side and lifting his open hand calmly, as if to tell the dog that he was backing off. He really did not want to kill this dog, he rather liked it by now, and he knew that there was no way he could fight off a whole pack of them anyways. It was just being intelligent. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ((Handle Animal(0) + d20 = ~))

Despite the angry growls of the canine facing Felix, the other animals laying in the clearing did not move. They didn't so much as flinch, twitch or otherwise so signs that they were alive let alone aware of the boy. Meanwhile the lone protector of the group was still snarling as best it could at the retreating ninja. It made no effort to chase after the boy, but even Felix would be able to tell that it had more to do with the state of the dogs behind it than his own ability to convey his intentions.
Felix is within throwing range. Sense Motive check can be used to see if the other dogs are attempting a sneak attack. To assess wounded dogs from a distance use Treat Injury (-5 for distance).

Felix Silverlight CP:15 HP:24 Felix sighed, reaching up to facepalm for a second with his free hand, and then glide it back over his head, through his tousled black hair. He was upset, but there really seemed to be no way around it... he would have to kill it now, or at least knock it unconscious and then take it back to the village. But they already had one dog from him that had been tested on for anomolies, and they didn't want anymore... the mission said that he 'had' to kill it. Felix wished in this moment that he was on a real team... that he had friends to back him up, or a sensei to tell him what was right in this situation... what he really wanted was a leader to 'tell' him to kill the dog, because he felt he did not have the courage to do so himself. Felix frowned, eyes honing in on the one protecting dog once more... he had to give it points for courage, as he was twice its size and a ninja, and it still seemed to be wanting to protect the rest of the dogs. "...I'm sorry..." Felix whispered and reached back with his right hand, shifting his weight to whip it back around front and hurl the Kunai. He reached down with his left hand, drawing the second from his belt. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ((Attack Ranged(5) + d20 = ~))
