Well that hadn't worked very well. At least he didn't think it had, how was he supposed to tell anyway? However it had worked or not, the mass of vines still seemed as angry as ever (as if hitting it with herbs was going to make it any -less- angry, really, who's idea had this been anyway?)
Sheridan was searching through the pages again, his tail twitching as he jumped away from one particularly aggressive vine. This was not going to end well, was it?

Sheridan raised a brow as the vine that had been lashing in his direction quickly jerked away from him and whipped in the opposite direction. Interesting, he had not expected that. Apparently that one had worked, he thought. Still, he maybe could have sympathized with the plant, he didn't like his tail bothered either...
Back to the book (where was the damn professor anyway?), searching the pages once more. That last one had worked, but maybe something else would work better, he wanted out of this damn greenhouse. Ugg, why was it so hot in here? The air was heavy and thick, he much preferred the air cold, dry, and thin; it was getting hard to breath in here.

Everything seemed to move so fast for the manananggal. Everything seemed to happen at once and all Tess could think to do was remember to keep her wings flapping. When it became apparent everyone was heading into the greenhouse, the winged vampire braved the foliage to help as well. The instant she entered, a stray leaf smacked right into her face, and she instinctively let out a high-pitched squeal of surprise, her hands instantly rising to her face to swat away at the offending piece of greenery.

As the fairy looked for their illusive teacher, a squeal caught her attention and she rushed to see whom had been caught this time, only to see that it was Tess whom seemed to be swatting at something, a leaf by the looks of things.
Watching the other student though made Astra feel a little uneasy. Worried for the others safety, she looked over the plants again and then fought what she was looking for - Ash bark. Even though the plant needed a verbal spell (and a object to place said spell on), it might at least help the winged vampire to keep calm.
"Here tess, hold onto this" she held out the plant for tess to take if she desired, then flew back towards cause of all their problems, still holding enough of the plant to peg it at him. As to what it would do? she wasn't sure, but she just felt like throwing something.

Another flip through the book revealed more ideas that Astra could use against the plant, and she sorted through the plants until she found the one she needed, which was a plant called valerian. It was supposed to be a cure all drug, but it could be dangerous when mixed with other things. And considering all the items that had been used against steve...
Upon throwing her plant at steve, it seemed to be very potent against him. Finally, she was getting somewhere!

When Tess' vision was foliage-free, she set to work in search of Steve and the other students. Of course, there was the challenge of maneuvering through the plants in the greenhouse with large wings as hers. She couldn't really fold them. Sorry, no, Tess was not about to crawl on her arms. Concern for other students or not.

Hmm, that one had been quite effective as well, not as much as the first, but still quite satisfying.
There had to be something else in this book that would--ahhh!! And thus Sheridan learned a very important lesson, when moving through a greenhouse full of angry vines and various other plants, LOOK WHERE YOU ARE GOING!
His attention having been focused on the pages of the text, searching through the herbs for one that would work, Sheridan had failed to notice the very large plant in his path. That was, until he tripped over it and when sprawling across the floor, landing rather awkwardly as his book flew from his hand to land several feet away. Ow, that had hurt, okay, next time pay attention.
A scramble for the book, he chose an herb from the page that had fallen open. Let's hope this one works.

This greenhouse was larger inside than it looked from outside. Tess could hear the other students but she couldn't find them. It will occur to the manananggal (much much later) that she'd been flying around in circles. Jack damn it, the others probably would have been able to deal with Steve by the time she even finds them at this rate.

Awkward as that had been, the herb he had chosen seemed at least as effective as the previous one had been. Though now he was starting to wonder just -what- effect this was actually having. For that matter, how was he even sure it had been effective in the first place? He was becoming painfully aware of just how little he knew about plants.
In any case, Sheridan was at least more aware of his surroundings and watching where he was stepping. His tail twitched, watching the mass of vines from the corner of his eye as he searched the pages of the text. Wait, why was he doing this anyway, why couldn't he just freeze the damn thing, plants didn't like to be cold right? Then again, the professor (wherever in Jack's name he was) probably would not have appreciated that. Sigh, seemed he had no choice but to search the book.

That one had been fairly effective as well, though not as much as he had hoped. Sigh, he was getting tired of this game and annoyed with the fact that their professor had yet to make an appearance. Hmph, maybe the plant had eaten him.
He was also started to wonder where the other students had gone. It seemed Mandy had managed to free herself from the plant, but the dragon was growing troubled by the fact that he had only seen a few other students since entering the greenhouse. He was liking this less and less...
The plant wasn't eat him! He hadn't survived that infernal island just to be eaten by some plant back at the academy!

The plant was improving, but perhaps the extent of its assumed tummy troubles was worse than anticipated? Could heartburn count as a burn?...
Let's try something for severe burns, then! More and more page-flipping back to the earlier pages of the textbook, Levi came to Alder. She found something under what once looked like a table that resembled the picture. It was small...but might do? Flicking her wrist during another tailbounce, Levi got the herb where it needed to be but...no reaction at all was visible. Was anything accomplished there?

That had been rather...unsatisfying. Sheridan made a mental note to not use that particular herb again. Clearly simply guessing was not the answer, he'd have to be smarter.
He was running out of herbs and, to a lesser degree, out of patience. He was not liking the absence of his classmates and was beginning to grow more concerned for their safety than about the possibility of being eaten by some plant. Or maybe he was growing more concerned about the later, after all he had no way of knowing the condition of his fellow students.
Right, he'd have to start looking around for other students while he was searching for the right herb to use on the plant. To that end he walked in one direction, one eye always on the mass of vines and green that was Steven, the other searching for any other sign of movement within the greenhouse.

"Anyone? Hello? Where are you guys?" Maritess called out, ducking low in time to avoid getting entangled in a low-hanging vine. She still had no idea where anyone was or where this Steve-creature was lurking with that poor student. Maybe she should try flying a little higher? Surely there weren't any other sort of creatures lurking in the tops of the plants, were there? Maritess was going to find out soon enough...

What she thought was one plant was actually another. This was due to the fact that the vines were getting more and more wriggly as more students began to arrive and have at the mass of green. Mistakingly, in her haste, grabbing the Zebra Wort, Levi took a shot; it was good! ....

Maritess carefully flew upwards, keeping both her eyes and ears open and alert for any actual signs. There was some rustling in the distance, and she flew towards it. Hopefully, hopefully, it was the others. Except no. No, it wasn't them. She was beginning to feel panicked. What if, what if she got lost in the greenhouse? FOREVER? Forget Steve. Forget her classmate (she didn't even see who it was that got snagged)! WHAT ABOUT TESS!?! It became obvious that she needed an adult. She needed their professor!!!! "Oh Jack, Professor Cadmus!! WHERE ARE YOU!?!?!!" she shrieked out loud. It was more rhetorical than anything, she wasn't expecting to find their teacher in the greenhouse. Plus, maybe her classmates might hear her distressed cries and actually help her locate them.
