What does your soquili leave as an offering for the wishing star? Woven basket scraps from the baskets of her now fully-grown foals. She's kept them for a special occasion, one such as this.
Short IC Response: Sabelle was thoughtful for a few moments after she'd carefully placed the scraps of woven grass down at her feet -- Bear's, Badger's and Phoenix's, respectively -- her beautiful foals. "My mama's gone," she whispered to the star, staring down at the scraps that sat with such purpose at her hooves. "My mama's gone. 'fore she died she told me to find my brother." She shook her head, vividly colored curls shimmering in the soft light of midnight. "I didn't even know I had one, but I guess I'm.. I'm just tryin' to make things right. I'm tryin' to do what she asked, and this is the only way I know how. Rafe thinks it's kinda silly, but he doesn't understand. His mama's still alive." Nudging a piece of Bear's basket, she snorted softly. "I think he'd like to know he's an uncle. I think he'd like to know mama's gone. My brother, I mean." Resolutely she closed her mouth, staring at those tattered basket shreds for a long moment before she turned around and left her offering there in the silvery light of the star that shone brightly in the sky.

Tell the wishing star a little about yourself: I haven't been in this world long, but already I feel the desire to share it with someone. I'm loyal and brave, and want nothing more than to show it to someone and make them feel as though they can rely on me for anything.

What does your persona or your soquili leave as an offering for the wishing star? Kinna walked slowly up to the altar, head lowered and eyes half closed in a mixture of humbleness and shame, a small stem of a plant jutting out of his small muzzle. He was certain that others had offered extravagant things to make their wish come true, but what could a single, young wolf offer that would please a star? He had no gems or fancy things, but he wished to offer something straight from his heart.
Reaching the foot of the altar, Kinna paused and scraped the dirt with his paw, making a small hole. As gently as he could, he tilted his head sideways and placed the stem's end in the hole, moving to quickly push the dirt back into the hole with his paw. Standing in the dirt and looking only slightly droopy was a strange branch festooned with leaves, the space between the dainty veins marked by natural slits. As a slight breeze ruffled Kinna's fur and caused the droopy branch to lift slightly, the slits opened up like a newborn's eyes. letting the wind pass through them and filling the air with a delicate whistle. Wheeeeeee! Wheeeeeeoooooooo! Sitting down solemnly, Kinna lifted his muzzle to the heavens and began to howl, trying as hard as he could to match the trilling sounds of the whistling leaves. He put all that he was feeling into this, his very own song; the loneliness he felt at seeing other familiars happily bonded with a Soquili, the fear that such loneliness might be his destiny, and ending with the hope that his dearest wish would be granted and that he would soon meet a Soquili with a need to match his. He wasn't even sure if the star could hear his song, but he tried with all of his might to make the howls carry.
When he finished, Kinna lowered his muzzle and breathed a breath of thanks to the wishing star before turning and scampering into the woods, leaving the small branch to sway in the wind, the whistling leaves holding the song in the air long after the hopeful wolf had gone.

What does your soquili leave as an offering for the wishing star? The lavender colored cloth that is draped around her neck and back.
Short IC Response: What does you soquili ask/tell the wishing star when he or she comes to ask to find their relative? Light green orbs looked towards the sky as she caught a glimpse of the star as it shot quickly through the darkened night sky. Lorelei stared at the sky for a moment, a puzzled look feel upon her delicate frame. She had heard about this rare occurrence though only though of it as mere superstition. A star that if you make a wish and if your lucky enough your wish will come true sounded quite ridiculous and unrealistic to her though it seemed her curiosity got the best of her. Perhaps it was true and that somehow, this single star can actually grant wishes. If this was true, well there was defiantly one wish Lorelei was willing to ask: She would wish for her baby sister back. After having her herd being invaded by a mix of races ranging from cold, evil regulars to bloodthirsty and merciless kalonas, it seemed as though her baby sister was the target in this attack; thus being kidnapped. After that night, Lorelei had never heard of or seen her sister. She had went through sleepless nights wondering how her sister was, going out on endless searches trying to scout out her whereabouts but failed in the end. To this day, the memories still haunt her and she never has given up hope on finding her sister, though in her heart, she knows that her sister is long gone and that her demise was done by the hands of her heartless kidnappers. Sighing, Lorelei moved quickly to where she last saw the star. It was time to put this supersition to the test and see if her wish would come true or not. "Oh dear Wishing Star," she said softly as she shifted back and forth uncomfortably. She found it kind of strange that she was talking to a star but she wanted to see what the hype was all about. "I offer to you the cloth that I wear in exchange for my one wish." She untied the loose cloth that draped around her neck and placed it in front of her. "I ask of you, wishing star, one thing. Please listen to my wish. I wish for my baby sister's return. I just want to see her smiling face once more after all these years. I want to know that she is alright and that she had escaped the prison in which she was trapped in for all these years; and I just want to know that she is looking for me as I still am searching for her. I just wish for her safe return and that we can be together once again; just like how it was when we were kids... " She heaved a heavy sigh and closed her eyes as she turned to walk away. All she could do now, was just wait.

What does your soquili leave as an offering for the wishing star? With a swish of his short tail and a careful look around, Akaaru bows his neck to rest a single red-tinted feather from his wings. Not because of a selfish need to keep his trinkets, but because for the life of him he could not honestly think of anything better. With this, he thought perhaps the fabled wishing star might understand the bond he once shared with his brother, a bond that promised he would give his wings to see his brother safe. And just maybe, it would help the star link him and his brother and bring them together again.
Short IC Response: Akaaru had spent the last year living nearly in secret, keeping to himself while seeking out his younger brother. He had heard many others whispering recently, about a star that seemed to shine a little brighter than normal. From what he had been able to gather, this star had the power to grant a wish. An alter had been set up and not only where the humans making wishes, but the Soquili were too. It took hours for Akaaru to gain the courage to approach the alter, and doubt still nagged him as he made his offering. But he was running out of means to find his brother. In his mind, he could see the eyes not unlike his own. The dark coat shot through with the rainbow's hues. The blackened mane that he always envied for fuller fade of colors. He could hear the laugher, and the heavy hoofbeats of a race for something or another that barely mattered but made all the difference back then. But when he opened his eyes again there was nothing. Only him, standing before an alter where many others had come made their wishes. For what, he knew not. He knew every wish was important, and he hoped that they would all be granted. But the emptiness he felt standing atop the hill under the starshine alone begged him to silently plea with the star to help him first. To help him in the right direction at least, if it couldn't lead him directly to his brother. "I don't know if what I've heard has any truth behind it, but I beg of you star...Help me find Enko. My one and only wish is to be with him again."

Crouching near the river's edge deep into the night, the Kiwani shaman peered up at the winking star, it's distant light reflecting dimly in her eyes. It was a rare and mystical sight to behold, and the woman held no hesitation in reaching for its rumored blessings. Clasping her hands, she spoke earnestly. "Night Guide, I humbly implore of your great and wise blessings. It's been a fortnight since the Predator's attack, and our village is making slow recovery. However, each night the lady Unicorn mourns for her beloved at the borders of our tribe, and her cries haunt our hearts." The woman paused, as if to let the silent night fully absorb and contemplate her words. "If it is in your power, I beg you. Make not the Unicorn a widow, and reunite her with her beloved." For the shaman woman also feared that the anguish of the lady Unicorn would be an omen upon their tribe. If there was any hope to be found, she prayed it was in the Star above.

Reaching into her traveling pouch, the shaman pulled out a small and frayed basket tether, and placed it into the river. "Here is all that remains of their infant. Her lady's heart weeps for this too, and I hope offering this item can appease her wounds. Please take it and use it to bind together their family once more."

A-About myself? Well, I, ah . . . Yes. Feels a little funny to talk to a star of all things, but . . . Locals and all that; must have some sort of magic. Or, ah, what have you.

Myself! Yes, about myself. I am an owl of simple pleasures, most ostensibly concerning obnoxious, multi-syballic remarks dehors of most cogitations -

. . . Ahem. >>; Let me attempt that once more.

I revel in stimulating conversations, the warmth of someone else beyond my feathers, and loathe to dumb myself down for beings who cannot comprehend my speech. Otherwise, I am a useful eye in the field and have a knack for finding things of interest when prompted to search. Unfortunately, both are hardpressed to be found when one is alone! And thus, in my . . . curiosity for trying new means of finding friends, I beseech you, star, to find me a reasonable companion.

And no, I am most certainly not desperate. :<

6.) Metal ("While of smooth quality, it leaves a metallic odor and conducts temperature too well for my tastes.")
7.) Dirtiness ("If there is one thing I would pride in my companion, it is her tidiness. Not the stench she produces.")
8.) Rain ("If I want a bath, I will clean myself! Rain also makes it harder to hunt.")
9.) Bright colors ("I would prefer the first thing that draws me in is a winning personality, not the fact that her pelt would make me gouge my own eyes out.")
10.) Crossbreeding ("You do not see owls running amok with ravens! I cannot understand why any creature would mix with another species.")

What does your persona or your soquili leave as an offering for the wishing star?
I will be earnest when I say that I have nothing or worth to offer. I would hate to leave my latest catch on this hill, half because it is already mostly eaten, and half because I doubt that a star such as yourself will have any means to use the critter. I could leave a feather, but that is so easily blown by the wind; and yet I would hate to ask so much and leave you nothing!

But I have a solution. Yes, I will offer myself as the offering for now. I am nocturnal, after all, and do not mind staying the night and offering my intelligence and forth-right personality as company.

Later, perhaps, I will think of a different offering that I can compensate you for suffering my long-winded tongue.

What does your soquili leave as an offering for the wishing star? A wreath of red roses like that which adorns her, made from the roses plucked from her tail.
Short IC Response: Stepping up to the spot where so many before her had come to ask for things and leave offerings, she gently laid a wreath of red roses on the ground with all the other offerings. One thought had been on her mind more these past months than anything else had been what with the attack on her herd and everything else. A heavy sigh escaped her as she looked up at the star remembering her father's face, or trying to to the best that she could.. so long ago had it been since she'd left home to wander about on adventures and she hoped that her parents were still out there some where maybe searching for her still. " Star.. bright and beautiful, full of grace dancing so high above us. I wonder if father is out there seeing this very star as he looks for me.. Please if he is.. accept these roses I plucked from my tail and help him find his way to me." A single tear rolled down her cheek as feelings from memories past clung to her heart. "I have much to be thank full for father.. Your little girl's grown with children of her own I only wish you were here to see them.. meet them and help guide me to keep them and my herd safe.." Giving a soft shake of her head.. She tore her eyes from the star and turned to leave. "Some day... I hope we can all see one another again..."
