She frowned slightly. "Can't say that I do.. What effect? Did I do something?" She looked rather lost to it all she'd trained to be polite and lady like and also trained to be tough and protective of those she holds dear.. but beyond that.. she was very naive.

Illarion shook his head and laughed, "No...not exactly. And yes, in a way." For a moment longer he looked at her, "have our feelings changed at all?"

She blinked a few times. "But what did I do?" She tilted her head off to the side, her breath catching in her throat for a moment. "Our feelings? You mean.. from friends to something more...." She trailed off not daring to meet his eyes in a more demure sort of way.

Her face burned red with embarrassment as she stood and turned from him. "I don't know what you're talking about stop giving me cryptic answers." She knew he wasn't but she just wasn't ready to face it herself yet that she might actually think of him more fondly.. as something more than just her friend. Huffing a small sigh, she stamped her front hoof in slight irritation. "And what if they have? would that change anything?"

For a moment Illarion's face went blank, then his face filled with joy as he buried his muzzle in her hair close to her ear. "Really, truly? You feel something for me?" His voice is a low, urgent whisper. "You can't possibly think that it wouldn't make a difference..."

Her eyes widened for a moment as she felt his muzzle in her hair and breath against her ear. "If that something feels like a more fondness than just friendship and a pang to be closer to you.. then yes.. but.. this feeling .. it confuses me.." She frowned some. It was hard to describe the feeling she had and what it was like, an event that would have often gotten a glare, stamp of the hoof and her walking away when trying to discuss it with her family but for now, she'd have to try not to let her temper get the better of her.

Illarion closes his eyes gently, "Can you explain to me, just try? How does it make your heart feel? Do you feel happy by it or sad? I want to know--everything." He rubs his muzzle in her hair again as she seemed to not be bothered by it.

She took a breath and let it out slowly. "Well.. I guess a little of both?" She blinked. "It's lke.. a tug at my heart.." Though their are two strings which tug at it this way. She thought to herself. He wasn't to only male that had caught her eye with smooth words it was this that confused her the most.

"A tug is good though isn't it?" He looked her in the eye. It was a good thing right? That meant she felt something GOOD for him, which was definitely a lot better than her first reaction.

"I suppose.." She looked thoughtful as she fell silent. Her eyes seemed to almost glaze over as she looked deeper within her own mind for a moment longer. Closing her eyes she shook her head some, trying to clear her muddled thoughts.

Her eyes opened at his words. "No... I was trying to clear my head.. To make sense of something." She frowned some. "I didn't mean to make you think that I was blatantly turning you down.. The thing is.. I find myself in a most estranged predicament... Sadly. My heart isn't just tugged one way... it is this which confuses me most.. How two so terribly different individuals could effect my feelings so." She looked down at the ground. It was the truth, she owed him that much she couldn't give her heart to either male unless she knew for sure which tugged at it most and it would be cruel to let them think otherwise.
Giving a small sigh, she stepped away from him some. "I understand it you don't understand and would rather forget the whisperings among us. Really I couldn't blame you but I couldn't lead you to think that my affections were soulfully yours... It just wouldn't have been right." She felt like the world at that moment was cruel and in it's own way... unusually bothersome. To present a mare with such feelings for not one.. but two. "After all.. we just met and I'm not sure if either of these feelings are just the fancies of a silly mare who had two stallions show interest." She was trying to think logically, make some sense of the situation she'd found herself in.

Illarion watched her intently, his eyes glowing oddly as she spoke. The subtle look that was taking his breath away. "Maybe, did you think...that maybe you're worth fighting for?" He wanted her to know that. Surely, she realized that. "If I have to prove it. I'm not walking away. I want to try this. I want to see...where this goes. I'm not walking away, I'm not scared. "Only time will tell."
He murmurer lightly as he brushed his nose again her skin. "You're not like anyone I've ever known.

She choked something out that sounded oddly like a harsh chuckle. "I might be unlike anyone you've met so far... bu maybe some day some other silly mare crosses your path and you find you like her better..." She frowned. She felt oddly jealous at that moment.. knowing that in time their paths might lead the separate ways. It wasn't a feeling she'd often felt.. and she wasn't sure she liked it. Jealousy lead to darker things after all.. didn't it?
