Clearly stoners, had to be stoners. Those blood shot eyes, the obvious aloof behavior. Had to be, the cashier said to himself, eyeing them suspiciously as he keyed in their order. But would they pay? Hell, if he had any sort of indulgence in humor he might take the girl up on the offer of paying an exceptional amount of money for their food.
But he really wasn't witty, more on the note of having a stick up his a** and really just wanted the two away from him. With a few more taps on the screen and a grand total, he blandly told the duo "Forty two, twenty." And nothing else, and waited.
Sheldon simple stood there for a moment, processing the amount in his head for a moment. He visibly rocked back and forth where he stood, and about on his second 'forth' rotation he simply blinked and pulled out his own wallet. His motion for his money wasn't as impressive as Ellie's but he silently shuffled through some of his bills for a certain amount.
There was no way he was paying for the whole thing, and he still had half a brain not to let her pay for the rest of it either - even though somewhere in the back of his mind, he recalled she owed him one for nachos some months back. So, he plucked her wallet out of her hand, he geared himself for protests and punches but he simply pulled out the rest of the amount and added it to the pile of crinkled bills he had already placed on the counter.
"Tacos." Was all he said in the process, after some minutes of silence.

"HeeeeEEEEEyyyyyy..." One moment her wallet was in her hand, and the next it had vanished. Unfortunately for Sheldon, Ellie had actually managed to figure out where it went to. Her eyes slowly followed the blur and eventually fell upon the green-haired boy's hand. At least he had already pulled out the cash necessary. "...that's miiiine..." In a clumsy fashion, she reached out to grab her wallet. She missed the first time, her hand passed and hit the edge of the counter instead.
"...miiine...." Once more she went for her wallet and this time she actually got it. She then tugged lightly in an effort to reclaim her property.

"It wasn't like I wasn't going to give it baaaack," Sheldon replied as he took the change from the guy behind the counter. Maybe that he wouldn't have shared with her, after she had barged in on his order and made it gigantic. If Ellie didn't finish it all ..... well, he probably would. Man, he was hungry.
Which made him eye the man behind the counter, who seemed to glare slightly as he placed a plastic number in front of the duo. "It's a large order... we'll bring it as it gets done." He dryly told them.
"Right-o," Sheldon replied, missing the sneer in the tone of the other guy as he picked up the placard like it was a precious piece of treasure he had discovered in a little chest in a dungeon. Hell, he even hummed the little Zelda tune when he had it high enough and he carried it thusly while he shimmied his way towards a table.
They were all pretty much empty but the boy took his time with picking out which seat the duo should sit in. They were going to sit in the middle, he decided, and sat down in one of the chairs. The number was placed at the edge with care.

She seemed to fumble slightly with her wallet as she returned it to its proper place in her back pocket. Then, the blonde turned and oafishly seemed to make her way to the table Hobbes had selected, flopping herself into a chair.
"...whaaaaaaat... what's that tune?" she asked before laughing out pretty loudly for what seemed like no reason at all. Ellie was familiar with certain video games, but alas, Zelda was part of the nerdy category for her. As if her head had grown quite a bit heavier, she set it down, cheek squishing against the table.
A sane person would have probably noted the table was probably filled with germs and strange diseases. However, that wasn't what Ellie was thinking about.
"If I don't get tacos in mah belleh... I'm gonna diiiiiiiiie."

Ellie didn't know that tune either? Sheldon nearly fell over in his seat, his mouth open in awe. "Reeeeeally?" He questioned her, flabbergasted as the ending of drawn out word soon morphed in him humming the theme song to Zelda. He put a lot of emphasis on a few of the notes, hoping the tune would ring a bell to the blonde across from him.
It was a few minutes of that tune, which to many a fans of the series would probably say was getting destroyed by the likes of Sheldon Hobbes, before at least a bit of their large order finally reached them. It was the nachos at first along with two large cups - as they had forgotten to grab them as they left the counter. "We'll bring the rest in a bit." The King Taco female employee smiled, obviously not the person who has not served them. She seemed to be in a better mood.
Sheldon eyed Ellie for a moment, still humming as he slide one of the nacho bowls towards himself. Grinning from ear to ear, he picked up one of the cups and used it as a poking tool against her head.

If there was any tune that would be making its way to Ellie's hazy mind, it was one from Oliver Twist.
Food, Glorious Food, la la la la la la
She didn't really know the words, so that's when you faked it, even in her head. She lifted her head up, promptly unsmooshing her cheek (though it was now quite red from the smooshing), and taking in the sight of the first onslaught of food. It felt quite scant in comparison to what she had been expecting, but it probably had something to do with the fact the tacos were what she had really been waiting for.
"Stop tryin'!" she grunted at her companion's humming. "It ain't gonna do ya any good... I don't know it!" With that, she swiped the cup that had been used to poke her head (which she could have sworn felt very squishy at the moment) and set it down next to her spot with a firm hollow KLUNK sound.
The most important matter was about to be taken care of. The two remaining bowls of nachos were moved immediately in front of her. Grabbing the most cheese drenched of the bunch, she opened her mouth and almost seemed to inhale the lonely chip. "Where th'f*ck have ya been all my life, nacho chip?" With a lazy grin, she stood up and began to make her way to the soda fountain.

Tragic, Sheldon though from Ellie's lack of knowledge on perhaps one of the greatest game series ever created. Perhaps he should attempt to kidnap her one day and make her play through one of the games. Haha.. kidnapping. That would be awesome. His face held a far away smile at the notion, at his own personal little joke. Aaaa.
The sound of the cup hitting the table brought him back with a start and he silently watched her get up for get a drink. Crap, he should have asked her to get one for him as well! Urg, that meant he would have to get up. His eyes grew wide and sad looking, and he gripped one of the remaining cups in his hand and watched the blonde as she filled her soda. Puppy dog eyes all the while.
Never mind another Taco King employee came by with another offering of food. "One more," she muttered and went back to the kitchen. Not bothering to ask or even acknowledge Sheldon's begging eyes.

One hidden fact about Ellie was that she was not a caffeine fiend. In fact, she tended to avoid such things when out. Considering how much energy she had to start the day off without a cup of coffee, it wasn't really necessary for her to get a caffeine buzz.
So when she came back with a pink colored drink that definitely was not soda, it might have been a surprise to Sheldon, as if he unlocked an achievement in a video game.
"F*ck yeah... food!" She grinned, also ignoring the green-haired boy's silent puppy pleas. Sitting her butt down in her chair again and nearly spilling her pink lemonade, she grabbed a taco and began to chow down like a food-contest pro.

He was going to have to get his own drink then, Sheldon realized with sadness that blossomed in his eyes. But... if he left, she might eat all the food on the table. He had seen her eat at the burger joint and when they had even first met.
His portion of the food was doomed. But he mustered up some courage deep down in his hazy mind, "you eat my half, I keeel you!" He added ashaking finger for good measure, pushed himself out of his seat and to the soda dispensers as quickly as he could. Unlike his companion who would survive off a very pink drink - which he would need to comment on when he got back - he needed caffeine... and lots of it.
"You have a very pink drink!" He called out to her, surviving the journey back to the table. Sad but true, he was out of breath. But hey, food was still there and another tray was on its way.

"Ya don't have half. I ordered 2 times as much as you, Haaawwwwwbbes!" It didn't matter that he was wandering away from her. In fact, as he wandered off, she hollered that at him, as if trying to call him a coward. If anything was commendable, it was the fact that Ellie could still do math while under the influence of illegal substances.
Without any hesitation, she was stuffing tacos in her face and devouring them, maybe taking a minute at most per taco she had. She had already eliminated 2 by the time her companion returned to insult her drink.
"At least mine ain't brown. Like poop!" She sniffed out and proceeded to work on taco #3, just as the Taco King employee returned with the final batch of food.
"Do you need any sauces?" she asked.
"F*CK YEAH!" In all of her grace, Ellie spewed out a bit of the contents in her mouth as she spoke with her mouth full of food. "Tha' hottah, tha' bettah!"

"I still paid for haaaalf," Sheldon retorted as he settled himself in. He already had a few chips in his mouth, but he still had the decency to cover it while he spoke. Not like someone who littered the ground with crumbs.
"I see why you order so much, half of it eeeends on the flooooor." Yup! He totally figured it out, and he was mildly proud of it even though he hid it with the consumption of a few tacos. He waved his hand, passing on the sauces. Sauces made food complicated.
"The pink would do great with your rainbow bike."

Sauces were handed to Ellie in little packets, the girl seeming to be a bit more startled now that she had gotten gross chunks of chewed taco shell on her. The next taco soon enough was doused in the sauce.
There were some things that were forgiveable, and some other things that were only forgiveable while Ellie was doped up like this. And then, there were things that, no matter what state Ellie was in, it would never be okay.
Forcing down the current mouthful with a rough swallowing motion, the girl glared at Sheldon. "No."
She stood herself up almost sluggishly, then grabbed her drink, which was still nearly full. She held it over the head of green hair, then turned the cup over, dumping her cup of lemonade on his head.
"...pink looks better with yer green hair."
One could hear the employees of the fast food place screaming in the background.

Well. Aside from the sounds of horror coming from the counter area of King Taco, there wasn't much else to be heard. All Sheldon could hear, besides the screams of anguish, was the dripping of pink lemonaid by his ear and the slow descent of a few ice cubes sliding their way off his head and onto the table.
It was eerie how calm he was from what Ellie had done. Though, he twitched a little from the sudden cold from the drink. Oh god, he could already feel it getting sticky, but he didn't complain about any of this, "but it doesn't even look pink anymore." The green of his hair had taken over and -
- oh god, Sheldon jumped right out of his seat. "Ice cube, ICE CUBE" His arms flapped about like a wild man, at times reaching at the back of his shirt. An ice cube had gone down the back of it. It was cold and wet and slimy... and wet and cold! "GAH!"

Having finished up with her point, the younger of the pair sat herself down in her chair again and reached for the nachos. She pulled out several cheese-doused chips and stuffed them in her mouth as if she hadn't done anything just now. Her aim and precision wasn't as good as it could have been, and she easily got a decent amount of cheese on her lips, almost forming a cheese mustache.
It was only when her companion began to flail in that manner she always found freaky that she seemed to take notice of him again.
"Haaaaawbbes... yer freakin' out man!!!" She pushed her chair back as if to try distancing herself from the boy, but she took her little packet of nachos with her.

It was going down further, further! Sheldon was panicing like he had been suddenly contaminated with some flesh eating virus, pulling at the bottom of his shirt hem while he bounced around and flailed, hoping to disloge the ice cube that had leeched onto him.
Really, with all the movement and energy he was putting into this he was mostly melting the thing, along with the few that had remained on his persons and weren't flung from his hair. It still felt wet though and cold even if the ice cube was finally gone. But his limbs settled, even if he was still twitching a bit and he looked down upon Ellie with irritation. "Not cool!" No pun intended.
The few employees were also not finding the situation pleasing. One had to restrain the other from launching at the duo like a howler monkey while another asked those two if they should get kicked out. Another one was simply sighing as she went to get some cleaning supplies.
