Amelia Frances Joan
Amelia burst into the room, a paper in her hands and her shoulder bag barely balancing on her shoulder. She hurried to the front of the room, handing in her paper just as her shoulder bag fell to her elbow, nearly making her drop it. "I'm new--well, to your class. I just signed up a few minutes ago." It was a little more than that but Amelia didn't feel the need to mention she'd gotten lost on her way from the Headmistress's office. It was as if Professor Sing cursed her every time she left--she ALWAYS got lost after visiting. Though it was much more likely she was distracted by her thoughts. Governments Ancient Greece was divided into many city-states, each with its own type of government. A great philosopher of the age, Aristotle, separated the various governments into four categories: monarchies, oligarchies, tyrannies and democracies. Mainly, the governments began as monarchies, then transcended down the list. Though each city state was different, some not becoming tyrannies or democracies at all. A monarchy is a government ruled by one person, the King, excluding Sparta who held two kings, usually brothers. An Oligarchy is ruled by several people, instead of one, but it still didn’t hold the opinion of the entire population: only the rich held any say. A tyrant is usually a member of the rich, who frequently gained power from the poor. They rule similarly to a king, but do not have the backing of a birth right. Athens is given the right of creating the first democracy. This allowed every citizen (which merely included free males) a right to vote.
Rome was set up with a senate, a group of rich decision-makers, and two consuls. They both had to agree in order for anything to happen. The senate would advise the consuls, and though usually they took the advice, they had to decide on their own what to do. Again, women and slaves were not allowed to be a part of the Senate. Still, Rome attempted to allow its poorer folk make large decisions by tribunals. Though still all men, they selected the Assembly and had the chance to veto things that affected the poor. Finally the assembly was created for all free men to be heard and to have a vote, though the rich’s voice still outweighed the poor.
It is through a combination that England’s government is created. It includes a Monarchy, however the power of the Queen is lessened, as a Prime Minister, the head of their senate, called the Parliament, worked. This is referred to as a Parliamentary Democracy. Two Parliaments, the House of Lords and the House of Commons (from which Prime Minister comes from) share power. Though in this instance, the House of Commons holds the most. The Greek and Roman ideas have spread throughout the world, giving all citizens an equal vote in their governing bodies. First Year Ravenclaw

Gryffindor Prefect Sparrow----Gryffindor ----3rdyear Gryffinclaw Quidditch Captain And Seeker Sparrow nodded and said, "Gracias Professora." Sparrow still thought she did terrible on her assignment, and she wanted to redo it, but it was too late for that and she wondered if she had just made a fool of herself by trying to speak a little Spanish. She shrugged it off in her mind and went back to her desk collecting her stuff to head out and get some studying in.

Catalina stared at the frantic girl that entered the room like a whirlwind. Eying the paper thrust before her, Catalina saw that the girl was far more prepared still than a few of her early students.
"Buenos dias Amelia. Me llamo Professora Constanza. Your paper seems to be in good order. You may be excused until the next lesson," she mandated.
Glancing in Sparrow's direction, she called, "Hasta luego." Who said the British could not properly speak such a romantic language as Spanish?

Ghaleon Elmerast, Ravenclaw, 2nd Year
The muggles had so many stories it was rather difficult to track down one that had the same or similar moral to a wizard one. Ghaleon hurriedly finished his assignment and left it on the professor's desk. He wasn't the type of person that enjoyed showing the classroom his work.((PM'd the assignment))

⒩⒜⒯⒣⒜⒩⒤⒠⒧ ⒲⒜⒭⒟ - 2nd year (Uh.. I have to go or else we'll never have a History teacher xD) She didn't need to feel embarrassed, Nathaniel was already banging himself in his mind for even asking that. Curiosity killed the cat but he was glad he did ask her. "Your mother was a muggle ? Seems like we do have something in common. Although I'll stay silent about yours choice of idioms." Nathaniel felt relieved. Sometimes, muggle-borns had a hard life at Hogwarts. What if people knew the last wizard in his family was over a century old ? Of course, times changed. He didn't know anyone who'd take advantage of that. Except a slytherin or two but he hadn't heard of them in a while.

||xD No biggie. Later!||
Ginelle nodded. She was actually pretty glad that they had something in common. But, unlike Nathaniel, she knew almost nothing about her father, so she couldn't really say much about him. But it was still cool that they came from a muggle parent at the least. "Well, it was the only thing I could think of... Heh. Can you think of anything better?" She was a bit more relieved that she didn't have to be so secretive of her life around him now. He probably was someone who understood. Ginelle's father died when she was two years old, so she hardly remembered him, but she lived with her mother, who refused to tell her anything about him. Ginelle sighed just thinking about it.

Amelia Frances Joan
Amelia blinked at the teacher. She'd just said something in a foreign language. It was before she was dismissed with a good job. What was it? For a moment she just stared dumbfounded. Then she thought. Buenos dias Amelia. Me llamo Professora Constanza. The second part about llamas had to be an introduction. Buenos dias just sounded good so maybe it was just good? She knew some French; she couldn't speak it, as her family had been posted there when she was little, but she could understand it. She glanced around the room. She'd never felt so clueless, when she thought she'd done a good job on her paper. Sure, she'd rushed and didn't look anything up really. She thought she'd remembered stuff. But what did she say? Hoping to ask Sparrow (who seemed to understand her) what it meant later. Turning around on her heel, she sneaked out of the room, though she'd been dismissed she hurried away, hoping next class she'd understand a little more.

Lena
As no one was speaking, Lena decided to take her turn to say a few things about herself. I’m Lena, a fourth year Gryffindor. I’m a great fan of Quidditch and I love magical creatures, especially dragons. She didn’t really know what else to say about herself so she ended her sentence with a smile and got out a quill and some parchment, guessing she might need them to take notes or accomplish an assignment if they were given one. When their first assignment was announced, Lena got a muggle magazine and leafed through it, glancing quickly at random pages until she found a nice dress. She observed the dress closely and began to write her essay. In about fifteen minutes she was done and walked up to the teachers desk. I'm done, Professor. Here it my essay. She said, handing Professor Constanza what she had written. She went back to her desk, waiting eagerly to know what the teacher thought of her work.

Wizarding and muggle fashion are two very different types which include many different kinds of clothes. The dress I have chosen is very different from wizard robes; they have many differences.
First off, this dress shows a lot more skin then wizard robes, as it is short sleeve, the bottom of the skirt is at the knees unlike ankle length robes and the neck line is low. It shows off a person’s shape and curves much more then robes, as robes hang away from your body, but this dress hugs your body’s shape.
The sleeves and bottom of the skirt have layers of clothing which create a kind of design, a bow is tied around the waist and the skirt includes a few folds, whereas wizards' robes are usually plain and simple. In conclusion, this dress is very different from wizard robes.
I would definitely wear this dress if I had it. First off, it’s very nice looking, the lovely sleeves and skirt edge and folds, the nice bow and the great blue. I think I would look good in it, it would show my curves and shape, unlike wizard robes which make me seem like a wide pole with two fat sticks for arms. It also seems very comfortable, the material ideal, soft and light. There would be no sleeves in my way, like wizarding robes, which I am constantly pushing up the sleeves. If I had this dress, I would wear it very often.

Catalina surveyed Lena's essay. 'Very well thought out,' she mused. "Gracias," she said softly. "Everyone is excused until the next lesson, which will be given on the third." With that, she waved her wand at the blackboard, which was immediately wiped clean. (It's alright Sparrow. At least I saw it when I was grading!)

Lena
Lena smiled as she noticed Professor Constanza seemed pleased with her work and left the classroom as she announced the lesson was over. The first day and assignment had been great, very interesting, and it had made Lena realised just how different muggle and wizard fashion is.

As the last students left, Catalina breathed a sigh of contentment. The first lesson had gone well, and she was pleased with the work she recieved. Locking the door behind her, she started toward's the headmistress' office to award some long-overdue house points.

Catalina returned to her classroom and enchanted a worn-out piece of chalk to write the new lesson on the blackboard. Her dark curls dancing, Catalina puckered her plump lips and stepped back to read her handiwork. Quote: This week's lesson is a follow-up to what you learned last week. It tests your practicality and the understanding you gained during the previous lesson. It is due abril 8. First years: Last week you learned about the Greek and Roman influence on muggle governments. Today you will draw a picture of a day in the Ministry of Magic, showing how the Greeks and Romans influenced what we use to control the institutions in the wizarding world. If you feel your art skills are not up to snuff, you may submit a list of differences and similarities between the Ministry of Magic and the Greco-Roman form of government. Second years: Last week you read muggle children’s books. Recall the elements that they all had. There were moments of fantasy, morality, and talking animals. Today you will partner up and write your own muggle children’s stories. Extra points may be given if you find a way your illustrate tale. This is due by the end of class. Third years: Last week you learned about the muggle phenomenon known as “photosynthesis”. This week you will explore the school grounds and find three examples of plants that had good environmental conditions, and three that did not. You will either make a drawing of each, or submit a chart that names, describes, and identifies what went right or wrong with the plant. Fourth years: Today you will be testing your knowledge of the previous lesson in which you compared casual muggle and wizarding clothes. Today you will be creating your own muggle outfit to wear. This outfit should allow you to blend in with a crowd of muggle and disguise you. I have several different types of fabrics, needles, and threads for you to use. The cutting spell is “Incidio.” The stitching spell is “Suo”. Use these to complete your outfit, which you will be modeling at the end of class. (Either dress up your avatar or embed a tektek design.) Fifth years: Today you will be testing what you learned last time about muggle songs by creating your own. Your song must have a message that can be understood by both muggles and wizards. It should have three verses and a chorus. This is due at the end of class. Sixth and Seventh years: Last week we learned how to send letters in the muggle post. This week we will examine the proper ways to make telephone calls. Muggles rely on telephones to contact each other over distance. It is a way to carry on a conversation without meeting face to face. Today, you will select a partner, go to different ends of the castle and use the spell “Remota conversatione” to communicate with each other. Be sure to speak clearly into the tip of your wand, not loudly. When you are finished you will both write an essay over how your conversation went, and what etiquette you can surmise you must use when speaking on the telephone.

Sparrow got into the room right before class started. She quickly took the seat and noticed a new assignment on the board. She sighed inwardly. Looking around for plants didn't seem much fun, but then she noticed that they could draw them once again. This lifted her spirits and she wondered where she would look for the plants on the grounds.
