Lillie let out a sob. She was just like Yuri trying not to cry. She knew that life that could have been was now gone and she wasn't getting it back. She couldn't protect her child. She failed Yuri and the baby. She turned to her husband and started to cry into his chest. She hated these gross feelings that took her over. "I'm sorry." She whispered to Yuri.

▬Yuri § Solotov▬ Yuri put his arms around his lover and shook his head. "Don't...it's not...your fault..." He said, his voice having to fight against the sobs that threatened to silence him. Yuri felt utterly useless. He couldn't forsee it happening, he couldn't keep the baby alive, he couldn't prevent Lillie from having to experience all of this. "Why...why us? What did we do to deserve this?" He thought, mentally cursing at any and all deities that may have had a hand in all this.

Lillie knew that she would have to stay in the bed for a day or two with antibiotics being put in her ever couple of hours. She didn't want to tell Yuri what else she learned, but she knew that she couldn't keep it from him. "They told me that there is a strong chance that it'll happen again." She told him. She wasn't sure if she would ever have children now. Maybe it was just best that she didn't try. The doctor picked up what Lillie was saying and cleared up how likely it would happen. "there is a 25% chance." The woman clarified.

▬Yuri § Solotov▬ Yuri's heart thudded loudly as he heard Lillie speak, closing his eyes slowly when he heard the doctor clarify the actual chance. "That's still 25 percent too much..." He thought, just trying to slow his breathing and calm himself down, he felt upset and angry and every other possible negative emotion to nobody in particular, but none of it would change any of this. He thought back to Lillie's words. Would they even try to conceive again after this? He knew that recovering from this sort of shock psychologically would take months, even years, who knows if and when they'd be ready.

The doctor thought carefully about saying anything. She only knew the information that she had been given about Lillie. "The doctors believe that it was a chemical reaction. Meaning she was exposed to something before the miscarriage took place." She didn't them to totally give up hope, but she wanted them to know that it could happen again. "What children both of you end up having will be healthy." The woman added trying to counsel the couple.

▬Yuri § Solotov▬ Yuri listened as much as he could between thoughts, slowly turning to face the doctor, his eyes were a little more bloodshot now. "Exposed...to...to what?" He asked hoping it would at least shed some light on somethig if she knew the answer. Or at the very least, if they did ever try to have another child in the future they would know there'd be something to avoid. The doctors' final words were a little comforting, but it wouldn't be enough to lift the mood of the situation.

The doctor didn't know how to answer the question as to what Lillie was exposed to. "I don't know what she was exposed to. There are a thousand possibilities. It could of been anything. An allergic reaction, a chemical, cat litter, even Lillie's own body could have had a hormonal reaction.." The woman answered. It was going to be hard to find out what happened.

▬Yuri § Solotov▬ "Oh..." Was all Yuri could respond with, a small part of him saddened by the fact that they didn't even know what it was that cause the miscarriage. He looked back to Lillie and ran the back of his fingertips gently against her cheek. He didn't know what she was thinking, if anything at all, or how well she was handling all of this on the inside. {gotta go, cya some other time ^^}

The psychologist helped Lillie's emotions a little with the facts. It didn't help make her totally feel better, but it did comfort her. "I think I'll be okay. It'll just take a while and some subjects may be off limits for a while." the woman told her husband. She was going to need him to do somethings for a while. "She'll have to stay in the hospital for another day or two after that she'll be able to go home." The doctor added for what their future may be like for the next year or less.

▬Yuri § Solotov▬ Yuri gave a small nod, talking about what happened didn't seem like a good thing to bring up anywhere. Turning his attention to the doctor, he nodded. "Alright..." He said softly, turning once more to Lillie. "I think it's best that you get some rest as soon as possible...I'll head back to the apartment for tonight, then come back here as soon as I can." He told his wife, taking her hand and kissed it gently. As much as Yuri wanted to make sure she was doing okay, it wouldn't help if he stayed here and kept her awake when she could be recovering instead.

The doctor smiled at the couple. "Don't worry much about her. I'll be here if she needs me and if something goes wrong I'll call you right away." the doctor told the husband. She was going to keep her promise.

▬Yuri § Solotov▬ Yuri looked over at the doctor and nodded, offering a weak smile. "Thank you...I really appreciate all that you're doing." He told her. Giving Lillie a small 'hang in there' kiss on the cheek, the elf stood slowly, wiping at his eyes quickly before he started to make his way out the door. {me too >.<}

And I Don't Want The World To See Me,
Seated in the main lobby of the hospital, a certain princess looked a little worse for wear; cuts littered her face and what one could see of the rest of her skin. One sleeve of her plain black long-sleeved shirt had been torn off at the elbow, the other in tatters; one could clearly see both tattoos on her upper arms. Her hair was pulled back from her face, in a messy pony tail, chunks near her face hanging loose. Seated next to her was a very silent and unhappy looking Icarus; Rina had been exploring the less pleasant parts of the city when she had been jumped by a gang. Being the sort she was, the princess had refused to run and had instead taken on the strange group; it became obvious quite quickly that they weren't normal humans, but that was hardly going to stop her. While the princess had taken a decent amount of damage in the fight, she had only been equipped with a moderate amount of knives that day, she would have been in fine condition if it weren't for the one with the gun.
The princess liked guns well enough, but they were hardly fair in what had originally been a knife fight. If it weren't for the hole in her side, she wouldn't have bothered with calling her brother or going to the hospital. As it turned out, with the bullet still in her body, her brother was unable to heal the wound himself; the prince had forced his sister to the place they now sat after treating her side to the best of her ability. A nurse approached, indicating for the two royals to follow him.
"I called Andrew and told him what happened." the prince spoke for the first time since they had arrived at the hospital as he stood to follow the nurse. His expression didn't change as his sister whirled on him in a rage.
"You did what?" the princess demanded, one hand still pressed firmly to her side where she had been shot. Noting the discrete spark in her brother's eyes, Rina's glare intensified. "You b*****d." she snarled, spinning on her heel to move after the nurse. She had only taken a step before she began to sway, blood loss finally catching up to her. In one fluid motion, the young prince stepped forward, scooping his sister into his arms and moving after the nurse at the same time. He seemed oblivious, or uncaring, of the blood leaking onto his person. He didn't speak as they moved quickly down the hall towards the OR.
After leaving Rina in the hands of the surgeon, who would remove the pesky bullet, Icarus was hustled back to the waiting room to wait. He had argued viciously, attempting to bribe and blackmail his way into staying outside. Rejected, it seemed the doctors here couldn't be bought, he sat impatiently in the closest chair to the OR; a lady had been sitting there earlier but had vacated when the young man hovering by the doorway wouldn't move.
'Cause I Don't Think That They'll Understand.

He'd receieved the call from Icarus while preparing a T.V. dinner in his dorm's small, but effective, microwave. Discarding the plastic-wrap, his left hand searched for the ringing cell phone along the counter top while his right pressed the numbers needed to cook the tray of food. Successfully flipping the phone up, he placed it to his ear to hear the voice of Icarus.
Usually, one could describe Andrew as a calm man with very little issues in the world to cause any sort of disruption. His days as a college student held few surprises and any that did worm thier way into his life would generally bring good news or exciting trips. He had little stress, a family that was stable and relatively wealthy, and a girlfriend of five years whom he cared for deeply.
Perhaps that was the reason he was so distraught over the day's surprise. Rina, a seemingly bright princess and woman, had gotten into a fight. That alone wouldn't have been so terrible, but she'd allowed herself to stay and be shot. Keeping as calm as he could manage, he listened to Ix's explanation while simultaneously grabbing a jacket and keys, leaving his roommate to wonder why food had been left in the microwave.
After fifteen minutes of driving, a luckily cancelled plane ticket, and a short bus ride, Andrew was at the Captial City Hospital. Once he'd found the waiting room closest to the OR, he gaze swept across the area until resting on Icarus' sitting form. A few more steps brought him to the chair beside him, where he sat down quickly, already asking questions. "How's she doing?"

And I Don't Want The World To See Me,
Glancing up as Andrew entered the hospital, the prince's gaze was cold and blank. "I'm quite certain she's fine. I could have healed her myself were it not for the chunk of metal in her abdomen." he finally turned to look at Andrew, cold rage clear in his eyes. "It won't kill her, but I might." the prince knew his little sister was fine, at least for now. "Only incompetent and uneducated halfwits could botch the surgery." he glanced up, having sensed the woman hovering in the doorway. "The surgery is finished." he stated, no question in his voice. The nurse, who seemed slightly uncomfortable under the prince's cold steel gaze, nodded. Icarus stood, waving a hand at Andrew to indicate that he should follow. He silenced the nurse's objection with a single look, stopping himself and forcing his diplomatic expression and demeanor to return.
"This is my sister's boyfriend. As you can see, he's quite concerned and would be most grateful if allowed to accompany us." the nurse, not quite convinced, glanced at Andrew. "You see," the prince continued, lowering his voice as if embarrassed, "I am quite uncomfortable in hospitals and would genuinely appreciate you allowing him to accompany me." finally, the nurse gave way and off they went. Dropping back to walk beside Andrew, the prince's shoulders were rigid despite his more pleasant air. "They had to take blood from me. It wasn't much, so I'm sure it's more precaution than anything." glancing at the young man beside him, the prince feels a faint sense of camaraderie between them; both somehow cared for the idiot that was his sister. How she had ever managed to start dating a sensible man such as Andrew was beyond him. "I'm sure she's quite alright."
The nurse stopped outside the door, indicating for the two to enter. It seemed she would wait outside, and after a quiet exchange of words, Icarus entered the room. Crossing it in quick, purposeful steps to the bedside. He said nothing, levelling a gaze at the young woman sitting upright in the bed. Neither spoke, and eventually the brother sighed and moved to sit in a chair situated mere feet away.
Glancing up at the sound of footsteps outside her door, the princess prepares herself for the worst. Rina returned the look her brother gave her, not backing down just yet. When the prince sighed and moved to sit, she blinked in obvious surprise. That had been far easier than she had thought, and she did her best not to look at the blood stains on the older Windstorm's shirt. She opened her mouth to ask a question when a noise caught her ear and she turned back toward the door, noticing Andrew for the first time. The sylph closed her mouth, opened it to speak, then closed it once more. She watched him carefully, her expression cautious. "Andrew? What are you doing here?" she asked, genuinely confused. She didn't remember her brother telling her that he had called her boyfriend, and she wondered just how he had gotten there so quickly; her sense of time had been lost while unconscious.
Oh, What Did I Say? εїз
