It took the monster horse some time to appear, having rummaged through the room in dim light for something to sweep the shards of glass into one of the corners. His feet were calloused and used to sharp rocks but all the same, it'd be safer for the others if he did this. When his face appeared through the broken window, he was grinning in satisfaction over the offending barrier's destruction. He definitely felt better after hitting something and having said something actually break. "'M fine! And the place 's empty!" he called out to the others as he carefully picked out the few flecks of glass that caught in his mane. His face was relatively unharmed, a few nicks here and there though his arms clearly suffered the brunt of the impact. Cuts, thin and numerous but thankfully shallow, marred the tanned skin of his forearms and elbows. Even his bahag suffered a few tears from getting caught in the jagged glass.

"'M gonna go see why the jacking door won't budge," he declared before disappearing out of sight.

When she felt him let go, she dropped as expected, landing on her feet at an odd angle, resulting her to flail on the spot before regaining her balance. Well, that sure was elegant. Blushing, she decided to distract herself by retying her hair; besides, she wasn't about to risk having her hair tangle up with the leftover glass on the window!

As she was about to point out that she had only passed out because she went back into the fog even though she was already worn out to look for him, she realized that he had already gone to grab Charlie... Which worked out, really. She doubt he would understand her logic, and it would probably exhaust her to reason with him.

And being dragged around didn't sound fun at all.

She walked cautiously over to the broken window, peeking in as she allowed her eyes to adjust to the dark... And was that mold she could smell from outside? She cringed, making a face before checking the base of the window for any sharp edges that might hurt anyone who might be trying to enter.

"Petro? Ah, good to see that you're in one piece... Uh..." She stared at his torn up loincloth and mentally face palmed; as if he wasn't not wearing enough already! She would fix it for him, but... Ugh, so embarrassing! She then frowned, noticing that his arms had several cuts in them from ramming into the window.

"You should ask Malodore to look at those!" She gestured at his arms before nodding; it would be good to check if the door could be opened from the inside... That would save them all so many problems!

Malodore immediately went to Riley's side, wincing at the sight of the injury - that was a bad one! And it didn't have all that many supplies on hand, honestly. "This could easily become infected, if it isn't already. There is discoloration within the wound that looks like it could be infection," it murmured. "I would advise..."

...

It stared at the tentacle. Possible infection, serious damage. It had nothing to sterilize the injury with. Stitching was required, but stitching it up with infection inside was not a good idea. Not at all. There was, however, one method of brute force sterilization that they did have on hand, thanks to a certain dragon...

"If the infection is or becomes severe, cauterization," it said, slowly. It wasn't ideal, but it was a better plan than sealing in potential infection. "Quite frankly, given our current resources, the only course of action I can see in the event of severe infection is amputating the tentacle above the wound and then cauterizing the stump. But all I have to cut with is my tail-blade. It's not exactly an perfect solution." Stupid school rules that had not permitted it to bring all its tools on the boat!

It did glance towards the lighthouse at the sound of breaking glass.

Furrowing his brow at Malodore's diagnostics, Jericho looked at the tentacle some more. It definitely didn't look good. Aside from that, he wasn't sure how it would affect Riley to lose one of her tentacles like that.

Not only that, but their solution sounded like a painful one. Amputation and burning the stump? Ouch.

"Well... If it's cauterization you need I could do that part. The flame from my sword would work for that right?" he frowned. If not, he wasn't really sure how they were going to pull that off. As far as he knew, none of the others had any firey abilities to offer.

"It would, yes," Malodore said, nodding at Jericho. "But it may not be the best solution. We may find useful salvage inside the lighthouse, or a way to contact others who may have supplies. It may be best to wait for now. Impromptu surgery is a rather drastic step." It gave the offending tentacle a frustrated look. Nothing could possibly be easy, could it?

(( HI THIS IS A PROXY POST FOR CHOBI BECAUSE SHE CAN'T ACTUALLY POST ON GAIA RIGHT NOW <333 ))

Being let down on to his feet again made Charlie frown. He was enjoying the ride. Little did the demon know that he'd been carried by Riley for a good amount of time as well. And kicked by Mac. Charlie didn't need to know the details of the last part.

"... But I like being carried," The demon pouted at Sheridan but before he could put on the 'why Charlie needs to be carried' sad face Mac had grabbed him and now they were headed over toward Lizzy. Charlie's little legs did their best to keep up with Mac. It was a good thing Mac had grabbed Charlie because the little pink haired demon had a terrible habbit of 'disappearing' as far as being part of a group. Who knows what sort of trouble Charlie would have gotten in to if he was left to his own devices.

The atmosphere around Riley , Malodore and Jericho was enough to make the demon curious enough to catch his attention. Charlie had no idea what was going on between the three of them but it looked gloomy and depressing which caused the demon to frown deeply. Though , honestly, the little demon wasn't sure why.

Coming up on the group with Aksaja, Sharra noted that apparently, they'd also gotten the window open...er, well, all right, so open was a very loose term. It served as a way inside, if naught else, and it seemed that the equine boil...Petro, if memory served, had been the one to go bashing his way inside it. Grand. Well, looks like they'd have to follow him through the window if they wanted to get in.

Pausing, as he was about to go sticking his head in around the shattered shards of what once had been a perfectly acceptable window pane, he noted that there was some to-do about the general vicinity of a mindflayer of his acquaintance. Frowning, he came up on Maladore, attempting to peer around it in order to see what the commotion was about. "What's going on?" He murmured, to anyone who would be willing to answer him on the matter. There had been a lot of unanswered questions, however, and so the boil was currently on the verge of investigating on his own. Ah Jack, it seemed as though Riley was injured...and currently, the dots didn't quite all connect for him that their little tussle of before had been the cause of the wound. After all, adrenaline had wiped a good portion of the details away in a wash of panic.

Sepheran smiled softly, or at least attempted to. He was a little worn out from his fight earlier, but he nodded to the group turning his head to Lizzy's direction. "It's alright, I understand, wouldn't want you guys attacked like I was, besides I was able to find my way back," he stated.

"It's not alright, they left you, left you, left you behind~"

Sepheran shook his head slightly before he felt arms around him pulling him into a tight hug. Sepheran had been surprised at first before hearing Arachne's voice. His shoulder ached slightly but he wrapped his own arms around her giving her a gentle squeeze back. "It's alright really, I'm capable of handling myself...and I always have Liannan to help pull me back to my senses. It's a good thing you stuck with the group, it's safer that way," he added before turning at the lighthouse as everyone shuffled in.

Something bugged him though, his head tilted up for a moment listening to Liannan explain things. "Where should we go Arachne? We can go with the others, but I have a strange urge to check the ladder going up..." Sepheran comment his head still tilted as he spoke.

'I still feel terribly guilty.' Arachne felt strangely comforted and even distinctly happy after the hug - but that was quickly replaced by the ever present nerves at being in an unknown place where everyone around her had gotten attacked.

'I'm really really glad you're okay.' she added, smiling at the boil, and nodding at Liannan.
'I'm glad she is with you. She is a good, loyal companion.' she turned with him, a hand reaching out to fit snugly around one of his, as she had done before they got seperated.

'I don't know, if it's really cramped in there I think it would be best if everyone didn't enter the same way.' she looked at the ladder, plagued with doubts, but she didn't want to cut herself climbing into the broken window either.

Nodding to the doctor, Jericho made a face at the tentacle once more before looking at the broken window Petro had made. Well, that was the easiest route to take now, and he wasn't too keen on splitting up just yet. Walking over towards it, he saw that it lead into a kitchen of sorts. They might just be able to find some useful first aid things in there.

"Well, no need to keep waiting around I guess," he said, "Just watch out for the broken glass."

Carefully, he crawled on through and moved away from the window so that others could come by as well.

"There might be some things in here you could use, Mal."

Sepheran took Arachne's hand when she reached for his and nodded lightly trying to be as reassuring as he could knowing the ghoul was very scared, even he was, but he was a boil and as such he should be the one to be brave in these types of situations.

"There seems to be stairs going down too if you want to try another route," Sepheran added hearing the hesitant in Arachne's voice. Either way they should pick one, and he doubted they would go to the kitchen since it was already packed full with the others who went before them.

'I will trust your instincts..' she said softly. She was hesitant about going inside full stop to be perfectly truthful, but this had been their destination and where else would they go?

'I think we should climb the ladder and enter the attic window.' she said, with a little nod, feigning much more of a determined attitude than she felt.

Arachne looked at the ladder and then back at Sepheran.
'Should I go first?'

The trouble with an injury at a time like this was, of course, that there was no real time to deal with it. She reached out and cupped the side of Malodore's mask with her hand for a moment, before resting that hand on it's shoulder.

You're right. We'll deal with it later. I've managed this long, trust me. I can make it to the end.

It was true, Riley hadn't so much as let out a whimper of pain since they'd discovered the injury - she couldn't even feel it anymore. That was mostly because the tentacle and all the nerve endings around it were now dead, which meant the likelihood of amputation being necessary was high - but who was keeping count? It wasn't important right now.

She gave Sharra a soft glance. The last thing she wanted to do was drop guilt on him right now, so she shook her head. Just a scratch. Don't worry, I'll be fine.

Something much more important was happening. Riley turned just in time to see Petro slam into the window with brute force. She regarded the scene, hearing his friends cry out in worry, but her expression didn't seem worried. It looked much more impressed.

I like him. Riley announced as she headed to the window. She lifted her leg and crawled through the window, dipping her head in to keep from slicing even more tentacles open on the broken glass that hung from the edges. Petro, remind me to spend more time with you when this is all over. She murmured to him privately once she was inside. I like the way you handle a problem. Head first.

Malodore nodded, then followed Riley through the window, also taking care to avoid the broken glass. Fortunately, its thick coat protected its legs from being scratched up at all. Once inside, it looked around carefully, eyes narrowed.

"Kitchen, looks like..." But the plague doctor's hopes for useful salvage were dying quickly. The entire place was redolent of mold and mildew, fouled by age and neglect. Poking its head carefully into the front hall, it was obvious the rest of the floor was in similar condition. "What a mess..."

Sepheran nodded softly. "Alright...though I don't know if my instincts are warning me or telling me something so stick close..." Sepheran stated lightly. Hearing Arachne as about going first he shook his head releasing her hold to step up to the ladder to go up to the attic window. "Let me go first to make sure it's sturdy enough," Sepheran replied as he placed his hands on the ladder and began to climb up.
