"D..Desmond? Desmond!?" Mitsu's voice was shrill with fear smelling the burning flesh and hearing what sounded like food being thrown into a hot frying pan. Clinging desperately to the vampire as he went down on his knees she didn't want to let go as he loosened his grip. Tears were already streaming down her face as he cupped her cheeks, her wide eyes frantically searching for a way for them all to escape. There was nothing.
But the man seemed desperate to keep her from leaving....if she ran would he follow? Could she buy the two of them time to get away? Desmond didn't know, but there really was no escape. Not for her. She wished she had told him, warned him but she never dreamed anything like this would happen. Naive she was to think she could keep this from him and now he was severely hurt.
'I love you'
Those words almost stung as she began to sob. "I love you too." He had tried to hid the sad tone but it still sounded like he was telling her for the last time. Like a parting word before they never saw each other again.
Shakily Mitsu stood to her feet though all she wanted to do was wrap her arms around Desmond and comfort him in his time of pain, but he wanted her to run so she would. Turning on her heels she started to talk off down the alley, her tears nearly blinding her vision as she ran.
Ginji drew back the weapon after a few seconds of letting the pain settle in for the vampire. It had brought the blood sucker to his knees so it would be up to the girl to escape on her own, which surprisingly she did. About to take off after her that's when Ginji felt the blade slice through his side. The knife glided through his flesh pretty easily but again instead of blood an almost tar like substance started to seep from the wound. It didn't make it far before the liquid start to move and retreat back into the wound.
Swinging around Ginji struck out at Shun with one of the bladed sides of the cross, gripping the middle firmly to ensure a good strike. Not hesitating long after he again pursued Mitsu's retreating form using his shadows to bring him closer to avoid running. Reaching out he gripped the back of her jacket bringing her to a dead halt. "I'm afraid you can't go. He wants you to see this."
Mitsu hadn't expected the man to get to her so fast. Though she shouldn't have been surprised, she had witnessed him jumping all over the place, but it still caught her off guard. She started to struggle against his hold but that's when his voice finally rang a bell. Such a time for realization to kick in when she was trying to escape. Her movements stopping completely she looked back behind her, wide eyes trying to figure out what was going on. "G...Ginji?"

Shun saw his attack be virtuously in effective, but he never really had time to really try to figure out how to get around that the first time he had witnessed it. He was about to follow up a strike when he heard Desmond and Mitsu proclaim their love for one another. Faltering at that, he felt his strength seem to just drain away.
As a result, he ended up taking the Wolf's hit pretty hard. Letting out a cry, he staggered back with a gash across his chest. The wound itself still didn't seem to be what was on his mind. There was a deeper pain he felt that seemed to make the injury seem like a papercut.
He knew their feelings for one another. But it just.. hurt to hear it.
A lot.
Watching Mitsu as she ran, feeling a deep sorrow to know he'd never hear those words from her.
Dropping to one knee and dropping one of his knives, he had a fairly empty look within his eyes. He heard her say her brother's name... this Wolf.. it couldn't be.. The assassin figured it didn't matter all that much at this point.
".. Just finish me already..." he uttered.

As Mitsu left him to do what he had asked, Desmond's hands fell to the ground and clenched the debris beneath them. All the pain was overwhelming. The pain on his back and in his heart.
He knew he needed to get up. If only to give that guy one good hit that would let Mitsu escape. Maybe if he and Shun were lucky, they could take down this a*****e.. At least cause him to retreat.
Until his rival decided to just give up, that is. Anger began to take the place of self-pity as Desmond forced his damned legs to stand. His steps were unsteady, but somehow through sheer determination (and being pissed off), he managed to charge (... Though it was more like a forceful limp).
His fist aimed at the back of their attacker's head, he planned to give this douche more than a headache. When Mitsu questioned the attacker's identity, Desmond couldn't deny that 'Ginji' sounded familiar... But in fight or flight mode, names had no meaning. There was just somebody labeled 'dangerous', and that's who needed to go the ******** down.
"Shun, you great big p***y, get up!" Desmond shouted angrily, glancing back for only a moment with blue eyes aglow. "You gonna just roll over and die like the insect I always thought you were, or are you gonna be the a*****e I knew you were and fight?!"

The wolf seemed to tilt his head a little at the name though he didn't make a reply. Instead he tightened his grip on Mitsu's jacket and wheeled around to face Desmond as he charged forward. The boy was obviously slowed, though still rather fast compared to a human. He heard the fist moving through the air coming toward him and was quick to duck out of the way before it hit. Even injured he was certain the vampire could land a pretty hefty blow.
Drawing back the cross blade, the wolf readied to strike but Mitsu started to struggle again trying to reach for the weapon. "No! Stop! Ginji listen to me!" But he didn't, through her fruitless effort to grab his arm or the weapon he managed to slip free, thrusting the bladed tip toward Desmond's midsection.
Meanwhile the shadows at Shun's feet began to shift and sway, a pair of white void like eyes staring up at the assassin from between his feet. Tendrils of black started to creep up from the ground trying to grab hold of the boy's legs to hold him in place. The substance that was surrounding Shun was very similar to the 'blood' that had been oozing out of the wolf's wounds, an inky almost tar like liquid.

"If this is Ginji, Mitsu... he isn't the brother you knew anymore..." he mumbled while not moving from his position. His voice sounded pretty listless at the moment and he didn't really make any moves until he heard Desmond speaking to him. Insect.. a*****e.. did it really make that much of a difference? There were far more than the two who wished him alive that wanted him dead.
It was strange how a few words could shatter his will to fight. He picked up the knife he had dropped but he didn't get up. The tendrils that held him down were a part of the reason for that. He was trying to muster his will, but it was really hard to do so. It felt like his heart was weighing down his entire body. The bloodloss probably wasn't helping with that feeling all too much.
The resolve he had moments ago had all but disappeared.
"I'm sorry Mitsu...," he said quietly. He didn't want her to have to see him die. Closing his eyes, he teleported once again and slowly stood now that he had freed himself in the meantime.
Being a little further from Ginji, he launched one of his switchblades at the Wolf before making his way towards him. His movements were slower than usual due to his spirit not really being there with him. Still, he wanted to try and distract him.

Desmond... Had really expected that to connect. Figuring that the universe would've done the common courtesy of letting him connect one last hit before he died what he assumed would be a painful death...
Stumbling a little, the vampire was caught completely off guard when he felt something rip through his middle, practically setting his insides on fire.
He didn't think anything could've hurt worse than a cross to the back.
He was sadly mistaken.
For a moment, his eyes stayed wide. He didn't want to look down. He didn't want to see exactly where the hit had landed out of fear that he might've experienced more pain from the sight. Instead, he looked at Mitsu. The girl he wanted to save.
... The girl he couldn't save.
Slowly, he began to slide back and off the blade. His body couldn't stand the fiery pain that now occupied him as a whole.
Desmond wanted to say something, because he had a feeling they would be his dying words... But he couldn't even open his mouth. It didn't happen like the movies, did it? You weren't automatically handed a minute for a long, heartfelt speech. You just...
His eyes closed right before he hit the ground, creating a loud 'thud'. He didn't move. He didn't breathe (obviously). He just... Laid there. Motionless, except for the streams of old blood flowed out of his weak body without a thought or consideration to the owner.
It looked like he was dead.

"Desmond!? DESMOND!" Mitsu practically screamed when the vampire took that last blow, his eyes drifting closed before he fell to the ground motionless. "No! Desmond! Get up! GET UP!" Her heart was pounding so hard in her chest it felt like it would break her rib cage. Struggling against Ginji's hold Mitsu only managed to gain her freedom when Shun's blade landed in the wolf's forearm. Tearing away she fell to the ground next to the vampire checking him over, but there were no signs of life to check for...there never were. It was like the nightmare Mitsu had, Desmond falling asleep and never getting up again like it had been magic keeping his cold body animated and it suddenly left him.
Mitsu just wanted to bawl her eyes out at that moment, the feeling of loss overwhelming, but the sound of crackling ice made her jerk her tear-stained face upward. The arm that Shun had struck was covering itself in a thick layer of ice, long blade like extensions forming off Ginji's hand like three eighteen inch long claws. Wide eyed Mitsu turned to see that Shun was heading toward them and for an instant time seemed to slow, a mass of thoughts running through Mitsu's head all at once.
Desmond was gone, her brother wasn't who he used to be, and her best friend was running to his death. She had no idea what was plaguing her brother to make him act this way but she hoped it could be fixed and Shun...she just...she couldn't watch him die. Not after what had happened to Desmond.
Jumping to her feet, Mitsu got between Shun and Ginji heading toward the assassin hoping to push him out of the way. Ginji had already drew back his new weapon ready to strike and as with the theme of luck for the evening, Mitsu wasn't quick enough to avoid being hit. It was hard to say what was wrong with her at first. Her movements suddenly stopped and she lurched forward toward Shun like she had been shoved. Hands reaching out for Shun's upper arms she tried to keep some distance between them, though it wasn't apparent why until she was closer.
The three blades of ice had completely run her through, they were mostly clear so hard to see until the blood started to seep from the wounds they had made. The blades had pierced her upper chest and by their positioning it was safe to say they gotten her lungs and possibly her heart. "S...Shun. Shu-" Blood started to leak from the corners of Mitsu's mouth as her eyes grew steadily duller. Her legs were growing weak and Ginji could feel the girl growing heavy against his blades. He had been instructed not to kill her, but what could he help if she jumped in the way? Withdrawing his blade with a downward swipe, it seemed to add injure to....injure as he left three wide gashes down Mitsu's back.

Shun saw Desmond go down, looking rather motionless. He looked more dead than he normally did, and the assassin wasn't sure what to make of it. Wasn't that what he wanted? To see the vampire gone for good?
.. Yes and no.
Yes because of his personal selfish desires. No, because he knew it'd devastate Mitsu. Even so, he didn't linger on that image as he kept running towards their attacker half-heartedly. Would she be as hurt if he were the one in the vampire's place right now? He had his doubts..
Bringing back his weapons he was ready to strike out at Ginji, but a flash of white got in his way. He kept moving forward, but his arms came to a halt and his eyes widened as he didn't understand what she was trying to do. Then he felt something icy stab into his body. Staring at both Mitsu and Ginji, it dawned on him what had happened here, and with horror he saw blood leak from her lips as she struggled to speak.
Falling with her, his arms reached around to hold her, and he could feel the gaping wounds in her backside.
"N-no...Mitsu..."
He was beginning to taste his own blood in his mouth and he felt his strength slowly ebbing as well, but he knew he didn't take nearly as much damage as the girl. Out of desperation, he uttered an incantation lowly, and the blood that was seeping from his body turned to a dark whispy mist to enter into hers through her wounds. The assassin was already bleeding profusely so it seemed as good of an idea as any... especially if it meant potentially saving her. He didn't care if he bled to death... she didn't deserve this.
"M-mitsu... please..."

Mitsu's mouth continued to move but there was no sound other than the gurgling of blood rising in her throat. Reaching up a hand her fingers just barely touched Shun's face before her strength gave out, her body going limp in the assassin's arms. Dull eyes that had been staring at his face were suddenly looking no where as her head fell to the side completely motionless. As her body grew still so did her heart beat until it finally pumped one last beat and fell silent.
Not sure what to do now, Ginji took a step back. He could hear the girl's last struggles before she fell still. This was a conundrum if there ever was one. He had killed the wrong person and he was unsure how his master would take it....and there was something about it.....nothing had bothered him up until now but there was something about this girl that left him feeling....He really couldn't think of the word. It wasn't happy or angry. It was something like sad but that word didn't quite cover it. There was an aching feeling in his chest he couldn't understand and he placed his hand over his heart like he had been stabbed.
Before the feeling could progress further the wolf started to back down the alleyway. He needed to make a report and figure out what his next move should be. Until then he would leave the assassin for another time.

Shun stared into Mitsu's eyes in disbelief. There was a certain chill that ran through him when she went limp with those unseeing eyes. He had killed enough people to know what death looked like.
"No... N-no..."
His voice cracked as he couldn't believe this was happening. The mists continued to enter to body as a part of him wanted to believe she could still live but... he likely wouldn't be able to lose enough blood for her to come back at this point.
A wave of emotions washed over him, and out of the corner of his eye, he saw the Wolf retreating. Sorrow and disbelief turned to anger in an instant. Gently, he rolled the girl to the ground before shakily pushing himself to his feet. Another incantation was said and soon his form appeared to be less solid.
"You... b*****d..." he said through gritted teeth. The pain from his wounds vanished with the spell and his remaining knife took on a reddish glow.
"Don't you dare... just walk away. Not after killing her," he hissed before teleporting to a point closer to Ginji. Once he touched the ground again, he launched himself at the Wolf more quickly than he had done so before to try and slash him across his backside.

What a lovely night. For the first time in weeks, Riyo had been able to leave the confines of her dorm... Wearing a disguise to throw the press off. She'd thrown her hair up in a pony tail and a fluffy white cat hat. Didn't exactly go with the weather, but she always wore a jacket or long sleeved shirt anyways. The rising heat really didn't bother her.
"Lets get some ice cream guys." She said to her two companions with a smile, spotting the parlor just down the street.
But something caught her eye as they were walking. A dark figure beginning to leave the alley... Was it weirdo time already? Hopefully he wasn't some kind of flasher.

As the hooded figure left the alleyway he heard Shun yell out after him and turned just in time for Shun's blade's to cut into his abdomen. He knew Shun was quick, especially with his skills but he seemed to be on a different level than before and now they were out in public...in the light. The black tar that seemed to be his blood splattered against the ground, almost instantly coming to life and going crazy. It didn't seem like the substance did very well completely separated from the wolf's body because it grew still shortly after and just made an inky puddle on the concrete.
Taking a leap back from the assassin, a blade of ice formed in Ginji's hand which he used to lash out at Shun. For the time being he knew where the boy was but if he moved too much he would be lost. The large amount of sound in the area from the crowd and traffic was confusing and using his sense of smell wasn't always accurate. He needed to get away or this wasn't going to end well on his behalf.
"Sure, ice cream sounds good," Klyde smiled. Sweets always sounded good. He was headed in a straight line for the ice cream parlor, their...other companion barely on his mind. While he tolerated Blade a little better due to Riyo's constant...'encouragement' he still really wouldn't consider the boy a friend.
The parlor well in sight Klyde only paused when Riyo seemed to catch sight of something. Looking over he too spotted the man coming out of the alley, quickly to be attacked by someone from behind. "Holy s**t!" While he had done a fair amount of dirty deeds he had never really witness anyone else in action.....especially when it almost looked like stunts for a movie. "Hey, isn't that someone from school?" Klyde asked pointing toward Shun.

Quickly rolling to the side, Shun just felt the ice blade run lightly against his side. He didn't know the extent of the damage due to his lack of pain at the moment, but it didn't matter. I just gave another outlet for the shadowy mist to flow out of towards the fallen girl. The assassin was bent on vengeance in any case.
Coming out of the roll, he burst from the ground, leaping towards his target. As he drew near, he lunged to try and stab Ginji with his one knife.
"Yeah that sounds good to me," Blade agreed. It was still a little awkward being around Klyde, but he was at least tolerant of the guy. He just didn't pay him a whole lot of mind if he could help it as he walked with the others towards the parlor. As they drew near, he too saw some movement out of the corner of his eyes and he was exceptionally surprised at what he saw. For one, he saw Shun going at another guy with a knife... and he didn't look too healthy despite the moves he was making.
The other thing... was that the guy with the wolf tail looked really familiar. The use of ice just cemented who it was.
"That's... my roommate... and that's the guy who stabbed me over break!" he said with surprise. Was this really happening?
"You might want to hold your breath Klyde... it looks like they're both bleeding quite a bit.."

"W-what?!" Riyo shouted louder than she meant to, looking inbetween Blade and the mysterious man. She recognized Shun, but only because he had come to pick up Mitsu a couple of times.
The smell of blood started to hit her nose... It was... Overwhelming. But it wasn't just Shun's. There were at least three different types...
One of them was old blood.
Slowly, Riyo's gears started turning, a look of absolute horror arising in her face as she realized the implications that fact had. Starting off in a mad dash, she headed for the alley as fast as she could, completely ignoring the dispute. If her theory was proven wrong, she'd try to help Shun but...
But it wasn't. Oh God it wasn't. Her eyes couldn't believe what she saw. For a small moment, Riyo stood completely still and watched Mitsu's body, waiting to see signs of breathing. Signs of movement...
There was none. "MITSU!" She screamed at the top of her lungs, running to the girl without hesitation. "Oh Christ Mitsu-" Riyo immediately grabbed hold of her lifeless friend's shoulders to shake her. For a moment, she thought about trying CPR... Until she saw the gashes that ran through her entire body.
Slowly... Riyo stopped shaking her, the realization that she was dead starting to take effect like a viper's poison.
"Y... You're dead... Aren't you?" She asked, her voice cracking as her crimson eyes stared into a dull reflection.

Klyde was about to hold his breath like Blade said but a familiar scent caught his nose before he could. Passed all the blood there was another scent, someone he knew. "********! Riyo!" Without hesitation Klyde followed behind the feline into the alley ignoring the commotion for the time being.
When he got to the scene he was rather shocked at what they found. He was no stranger to death and gore but by god. "Sweet Mother Mary." And then his eyes settled on Desmond whose scent he had caught before. "********! Desmond!? Desmond?" He would have comforted Riyo, it didn't take a rocket scientist to know she was going to be upset, but right now his friend was laid out in an alley and considering how Mitsu looked he feared the same.
Coming to a sliding halt next to Desmond he looked the other vampire over to access the damage. It looked like he had lost quite a bit of blood and the wound in his stomach looked .....disgusting. Like he had been lit up. "Desmond?" Klyde tapped the side of Desmond's face rather hard with his hand. "Hey, wake up buddy. Come on." He tried to keep the panic from his voice but how did another vampire tell if another vampire was permanently dead? They didn't, they were in as much mystery as anyone else.
As one imagine Riyo's shaking got her no where, Mitsu's body just jerked around lifelessly until she finally stopped, though for the wounds it didn't look as though Mitsu had bled as much as she should have. True there was still a growing puddle but it was small, not like it should have been.
Ginji just barely managed to move to the side, still taking a sizable cut across his arm. It was when he moved to the side that he tilted his head back and realized he had lost Shun. In all the noise Shun was as good as camouflaged in plain sight and the wolf was nothing more than a sitting duck. Head moving around quickly he couldn't even get the slightest indication of where Shun was...but he could sense where the alley was.
Making a beeline back toward the darkened alleyway Ginji knew he stood a better chance in the shadows. He had back up, he could move, and most of all if need be he could escape.
