Cold.
The first thing Riley realized when she hit the water was that it was colder than anything she'd felt before. This was mind-numbingly uncomfortable, and she sank with immobility from shock. She could see the wavering image of the moon as it winked at her from the surface of the water, getting smaller with each moment.
Then, as her body adjusted to the temperature, it kicked back to life. She swiveled and kicked, swimming effortlessly back up to the surface and breaking through.
Then, the sticky mist enveloped her once again, and she welcomed the cold water instead. She bobbed up and down, watching Red's ship as it sailed away.
Oh hell no.
Powerful kicks and determined strokes began pumping her towards the boat, desperate to keep up. She couldn't quite make it there herself, but if someone could throw a Jackin' life preserver..

It all happened so fast. Junko never got a chance to even try saving Riley from getting thrown, gasping as she was suddenly grabbed and then..wait! Where did she go?! "Riley..? Riley! Where did--" SPLASH!
And then Red was yelling. Wait..student overboard?! Junko bolted up toward the deck and looked around frantically until she saw Riley in the water. Oh no! Life preservers? What? Huh? Oh! These things...o-okay! She threw one out to Riley...
It missed. Terribly. Junko pouted and pulled it back up.

Seeing as she wasn't on the boat during Desu's appearance, Riley has no idea there is a search for a phone. She also doesn't accidentally find it, as odd as that would have been. She is, however, still waiting for a lifering.

Things were moving a bit too quickly for the monster, what with going to cabins then coming out of cabins and now - now! someone was overboard! Chuppi watched as several other students did their best to try and throw out rings to help the person and she grabbed one of her own, effortlessly tossing it out.
Of course it didn't reach Riley, but she could always reel it in and try again. The only problem with all of this?
They were out of food.
Things were going to get bad.

He had been about to say something, though what that was he could not recall at the moment as he had been interrupted by...something. What the--
The dragon's eyes widened as something surrounded Riley, she was lifted off her feet, and then--
"What the--"
His words were cut off by the sound of a splash, which was quickly followed by the yells of their captain. Overboard?
Scrambling, he raced from the room and up the stairs, shortly on Junko's heels. Riley?! How did she get in the water?! He shook his head, analyze later, life saver now!
Well that was very unsuccessful, clearly he had forgotten to account for wind speed. He would have to pull the line back in and recalculate.

Sheridan had no idea what the strange girl was going on about, what was she saying? He blinked, what did she want? She...wanted them to go into Red's room? Was she nuts?! Red would skin him alive, and then there was the matter of Riley overboard...
A peek in the door was all he dared, he was so -not- setting foot in that room. If he couldn't reach whatever it was the trick or treater wanted from here, well, someone else was going to have to find it then.
Back to the life preservers! Wait...why couldn't he just fly out there and catch her that way?

You can try to save Riley more than once. Just be sure to post an RP pose along with your attempts. You can only enter Red's cabin once, however.
And yes, Riley, you can continue to try and swim for the boat. 8D ))

Serious swimming occurred. The adrenaline rush was exhilarating. Riley was glad that it was she who'd been thrown overboard, rather than a lesser physical student. Junko, for example, might have already drowned by now.
Riley, however, was easily performing the backstroke. Oh look, fishes~

It was only after Chuppi reeled in her life ring that she noticed the strange girl motioning towards Red's cabin, wanting something from inside. The chupacabra looked around for a moment or two, debating, when she finally walked over and thought about entering. Going into the teacher's cabin was a very bad, very bad bad idea, but Desu-chan looked like she needed something just as bad.
So, naturally, Chuppi took two steps in before looking around quickly and backing out. She didn't see Red's phone, not that she was looking too hard, and she shook her head at the Trick or Treater before heading back over to help out Riley. If they didn't do something soon then the Demon might drown!
If only Chuppi weren't so hungry . . . .

Junko blinked and turned around when she heard a strange noise, staring at the ghoul in the pink kimono. What was she...what did that strange symbol mean? She looked torn, looking between Riley and the kimono-clad ghoul. What did she want? Why was she...showing off her phone? Junko just stared at the symbols and blinked. Red...had a phone? Since when did Red have a phone? Red didn't even look the type to have a phone. Red having a phone was horrifying, because that meant she could terrify you from anywhere she got service. If they got a hold of that phone she couldn't make anyone's life miserable. It was a genius idea, and clearly this was what the Trick or Treater wanted.
A glance was cast toward Red and then the other students throwing life preservers to Riley. She'd be right back. Just go in, get the phone, come back. Riley wouldn't miss her too much, right? She wouldn't notice...Junko...Junko left to go find something better! Yes! That was totally it. It was all for Riley's sake. She nodded to the trick or treater and stepped back away from the edge of the ship, her eyes on Red as she stepped back..back...and back some more until she was at Red's door.
She took the chance.
She went in.
And promptly ran out. Junko had seen something. She'd seen something horrific that could not be unseen. She just took her place at the edge of the boat again.

It had only been after his first through that Sheridan thought of the fact that he had wings, he could fly. So why hadn't he just flown out to snatch Riley from the water and carry her back?
Oh right, that was why, the fog, it probably wouldn't be a good idea to fly out there and get them -both- stuck in the water, but that didn't stop him from using his wings to get a little lift right? Maybe if he were just a little higher he could get the life ring to her.
And...no, he missed again. He hauled the ring back in by the rope, this was not going well.

After this evening, Riley might consider joining the swimming team, with how strong her strokes seemed. All of that exercise and running had honed her body to it's maximum capacity, and she hadn't even realized how close she was to the boat until she practically slammed into it's side. She stopped, and the boat surged forward - she just barely managed to grab a line hanging from it as it flew by, and then scaled the boat.
Powerful steps brought her closer to the edge, and with one last heave she flipped head over heels and landed with a thump on her feet. Straightening out, she pulled a hand through her tentacles and squeezed slightly.
Then she saw a few students heading into someone's cabin. She took special note of it. See if she saves you, next time you go overboard!
Well. That was.. surprisingly refreshing.
Her eyes widened slightly, and she stuck her hand down the back of her bathing suit - and pulled out a large, wiggling fish. Ew.

Well then, there was really no point in trying to save Riley now that she'd managed to make it back to the ship all on her own. The Chuapcabra felt bad that she couldn't have been on any use to the Demon, not that she expected herself to be, and she twiddled her fingers together as she stood watching and waiting. Perhaps it would be in her good interest to go back to the cabin and fetch out her Thermos, seeing as she'd left it on the floor in the bunk she was sharing with Sarias - no, Sai, as she was supposed to call her. It also occurred to the monster just then that she hadn't answered any of the questions directed to her over the past while and so. . . well, she ought to do it. It would be downright rude for her to do anything else.
It took Chuppi a moment or two to find Sarias out amongst the students and she paused before her, bobbing her head down. "I'm sorry for not answering your questions before - allow me to do so now Senorita Sai. My names is Temes but most call me Chuppi, I am a monster and am a Chupcabra. We are strong, small monsters with heavy quills and tails." She paused for a moment, talking rather quickly as so to not waste
Sarias' time. "We can paralyze with our eyes and with our screams, and I can only eat blood. All else will make me ill."
She trailed off in her thoughts and after a moment spoke again. "Though I am worried with our current food shortage. . . . "

Riley was back! She was safe! Junko cheered and hurried over to the mindflayer, hugging the life preserver. "You're okay! I'm so gla--" She stared at the fish that Riley..fished out of her bathing suit. What...the Jack? Well! Alrighty then. Junko hugged the preserver a little tighter, feeling fairly guilty for leaving. She had only intended on being there a second! Riley was her top priority, but she had a hard time saying no to requests.
She had honestly looked for something to help Riley while looking for the phone. That may be why she saw unspeakable horrors.
