GM Event Day 3

exclaim Event More Homework Time <3

Cadmus was content with his students attempts at fishing.

"Though everyone has had all too much luck with fishing I believe we should continue with the fishing. We have enough fish to tide over Steve. Now this shall be for you guys. In addition I still have more of the potion to help perk you guys up."

He grinned pleased with his students.

((Yay, prize! My minipet profile is here.))

Malodore took a fishing rod, examining it carefully. It seemed a bit inefficient, relying on a single hook-point with which to extract an entire creature from the water. Oh well. It expertly impaled the bait on the hook, then leaned against the rails, leaning out over the sea and slowly unwinding the line into the water.

Before too long, something tugged on its line! Malodore made a startled noise and tugged back, pulling with all the (somewhat meager) strength it possessed.

"Miss No Mouth?" Belladonna inquired of Jericho, however belatedly. "Is she well? I don't know her altogether too much, but she seems very nice!" Or something along those lines. After catching her fish and realizing another little cup of potion was waiting for her, the witch decided it might be time for a break. Although she didn't mean to, she nearly threw her pole down and bolted over to the cups, grabbing one and downing it in quick succession. It didn't do much, but it at least did something and that was more than enough.
"Fishing for us?" Hmmm, that wasn't entirely what she had planned on. Feeding Steve was one thing, eating the fish was another. "Well, I don't eat meat... So if I catch anything someone else can have it..."

The witch grabbed her pole up again, casting it into the ocean with a little too much fervor as she nearly lost her grip on it. Enthusiasm only sometimes was a bad thing...
"BD?" Belladonna questioned as she waited for a tug, turning to Whisper. "Well, I have never heard that one before... Most people just call me Belladonna or sometimes Bella, but I prefer Bell. But you may call me whatever you wish! BD is... Different! And different is good!" A small chuckle escaped her as she reclined her line, watching the waters intensely and hoping for a fish. "Do people call you Wisp, then? My boilfriend's a wisp you know. Very nice fellow. Quite fancy him! Hee hee!" Perhaps it was divine intervention, but Belladonna was not allowed to go on a rant about the various fine points of Daisuke's character for she had a catch. With a number of shouts the witch pulled up the fish, marveling at how different it was from the first. "Second time's the charm I guess?" She turned to the group, holding it up. "Is anyone REALLY hungry?"

"..Yeah that's her," he replied to the witch. While Riley indeed had no mouth, he wasn't really sure if the nickname was really a good one, "She's a very good friend of mine. My best one, actually."

Hearing that they would now be able to fish for themselves, Jericho's eyes lit up. Oh, if only he could have kept that one fish for himself. Grinning to himself, he paused as he saw Amrita's bait fly towards Yui out of the corner of his eye. Well... he supposed she was still... a fish.. sort of.

Shaking his head, he went and cast his line once more. Some time went on without any sign that anything was biting. However, it wasn't too long before he felt something pulling. Eyes lighting up at the idea of catching himself some dinner, he grabbed his pole and began to reel it in. This one seemed stronger than the last by quite a bit, and the dragon struggled as he tried to yank the creature from the sea.

"Come on..." he growled as he planted his feet at the edge of the boat to try and give himself more leverage. His wings flared out and gave a few powerful flaps to help propel himself backwards as well. The battle seemed to last ages but the red was determined to prevail. With one last full body tug, sliver sheen flew from the water an flopped onto the deck. It was huge!

"I'd take you up on your offer Belladonna... but I think I'm covered here," he beamed.

Malodore's first catch was quickly dwarfed by the sight of the monster Jericho brought onto the deck! "Excellent catch!" it called out, waving at the dragon as it secured its own fishy donation to their rations. It only hoped it could do as well, given practice!

Once it had stowed its first catch, the plague doctor baited its hook once more. Some of the other students had done a different sort of movement with the pole, sort of flicking it outwards to pay out the fishing line? Malodore decided to give that a go...

... and stumbled forward as the hook tangled in its coat, tripping itself up. The plague doctor ended up in a heap next to the guardrail.

Bother.

"Best friends are nice." The witch mused almost to herself, re-baiting her hook and casting it out into the ocean once more. Though she didn't like the idea of killing a harmless creature, she did enjoy the action and found it infinitely soothing. Perhaps that was why she kept at it even though she had already caught a few fish. "She's dating... Mr. Beak and Hat over there, isn't she?" Turning to point at her Malodore, the witch noticed he was caught. "Oh! Are you alright Mr. Beak and Hat? Do you need some help?" Without waiting for an answer she propped her pole against the deck and trotted over. "Here, let me help you up. I do not think you were around for introductions! Shall we all do it again?" Here she laughed to herself, offering him a hand. (Or, well, she presumed it was a boil but she had been wrong before.)

Now that she was away from her rod, Belladonna had the oppurtunity to notice that Amrita was having trouble too. Though they weren't getting along as well as she wanted, it didn't stop her from tossing a helpful question her way.
"Do you need help too? I do not think Miss Yui is a fish! Hee hee!" But before she could finish saying anything, her pink saw her pole dragging itself across the deck and hiking up onto the railing. A loud shriek issued from the witch and she pounced on the thing, suddenly shouting. "HECATE, THIS IS HEAVY!!" Doing her best not to be drug overboard, the witch placed both her feet against the railing and pulled with all her might. It wasn't fair that Jericho was a dragon and had his wings with him at all times to help pull giant fish from the water! After much tugging and pulling a great deal of screaming Belladonna managed to pull the biggest fish she had ever seen halfway onto the railing. Dropping down onto the deck she hoisted the fish over, panting and smiling widely.
"I do believe I win!"

"Ah, grazie," Malodore said gratefully - it could have untangled itself, but it was a bit easier with help. It took the offered hand and got to its feet, then bent down and wrenched the errant hook free from its coat. "And my name is L.C. Malodore - please, call me Malodore-"

And then she was gone, shrieking away after her own line. How very odd...

[if we have to rp the roll just let me know and i'll add it]

"Well then, BD it is. It's cute, so it suites you." She gave a nod and a smile. "Yeah, you could call me Wisp if you'd like. Some do, so I don't mind at all." When the ghoul mentioned her boilfriend, Whisper listened intently. "Really? I've never met a wisp before. He seems nice, and if you like him he must be. Maybe you can introduce me when we go a shore."

Whisper watched BD rejoice over her catch, and clapped when she saw the fish. "Wow! That's pretty big! Good job. We should be just fine when it comes to food for the next while."

She then turned her attention, to the rest of her boat mates. For the most part fishing seemed to be hit and miss. At least she wasn't the only one who was doing poorly. It made her feel a little better about her failure, but at the same time she just wanted everyone to succeed. Even if they only caught a tiny fish, it would still be something.

After such a large fish, the witch was feeling rather exhausted (She certainly wasn't one for physical labor of any sort) and decided it might be best to take a pause for now. She hoisted her fish over to the pile, flapped her hands about to make them dry and moved a suitable distance away from the pile before flopping down onto the deck. Since it was made of seaweed it was at least partially softer than a normal ship's deck and she had no problem laying sprawled out, her face turned up and her eyes closed. Rest was also not something she was incredibly fond of, so while remaining seated, Belladonna sat up to watch the others with their fish.

"Thank you! That is so kind!" She replied to Whisper, touched that such an adorable girl would in turn pay the favor of finding her also adorable! "You haven't met him? (Here she gasped) Oh you must! He's a perfect gentleman and very kind and friendly too. I do so hope we can all be together when we land on shore..." For a moment she looked out over the water, considering the possibility of being so close to land. Things were going well so far, but she didn't really put much hope in them going well for the entire trip.

"Please do excuse my sudden interruption Mr. Malodore!" Her running around and shouting probably seemed rather odd to the very calm Plague Doctor. Assuming that was in fact what he was, Belladonna wasn't entirely sure. "I like your hat. And coat. And the beak is rather nice too!" Paying compliments to people was fun!
