Thayne had hit Layren right in the face. The look the purple Phim sent him was priceless. Layren looked like a drowned rat! Thayne cracked up; he was laughing so hard he couldn't get out of the way of the tackle. "Oomph!"
Thayne sputtered and flailed until he righted himself. Poking the top half of his head above water, he raised an eyebrow at Layren. "What happened to not over doing it?" He asked, before splashing the purple Phim again and laughing.

The tackle was soft yet definitely had a force behind it and just for good measure because thayne laughed at him Layren splashed him again when he surfaced careful not to make it too hard for the sunset phim to breathe.
“Revenge overrules taking it easy.” Layren admitted. “Besides I didn’t tackle you as hard as I had planned thus its still not overdoing it” plus it would help Thayne get his mind off being sick. There was a saying out of sight out of mind right?

Thayne shook the water out of his eyes again and grinned at Layren. "Revenge! What did I ever do to you?" He squawked, knowing well the answer. Still...he raised both front paws and splashed Layren again. "Ha! Take that!" He said chuckling and trying to flounder his way back to the bank.
He knew he was never going to make it, which caused him to giggle harder. The giggling, of course, made him flounder more and slow down even further. Still, he couldn't help it; Layren was his mate and he was playing. Thayne felt all kinds of content even if he was about to get thrashed in a water fight.

Layren decided that Thayne’s question didn’t deserve a response and just glared at him. Then Thayne had to go and splash him again. Well that was it, there was really no holding back this time. Who cared if Thayne was sick, he could suffer later or Layren could make him eat more plants.
Then the sneaky little sunset bug decided he was going to try and make a break for it. Now that wasn’t very nice trying to get away from the scene of the crime. Layren speedily moved after him and pounced him into the water now that they where in the shallower side that allowed him to do so. This was followed with another splash when Thayne resurfaced.

Thayne could hear Layren coming up behind him and the sunset Phim flailed harder, trying to get away. It was not to be, as they both knew and down went Thayne under the water again. Kicking strongly, Thayne resurfaced with a laugh and shook the water out of his eyes, spraying Layren.
Turning to the purple Phim, Thayne smiled widely, looking extremely goofy with his wet hair falling in his face. "That was mean, Layren." He pouted before smiling and pouncing on Layren, dragging them both under the water all over again. "Gotcha!" He said, the end of the word turning into a gurgle.

Layren briefly wondered if Thayne was really trying to get away and finally decided on some combination of attempting to make it look like he was trying to and actually trying. One should never giggle during a water fight, you had to wait until afterwards as to keep up your advantage. Layren wiped the excess water off his face again and stuck his tongue out at thayne.
“So you laughed at me, I can’t help what I look like when I’m wet, therefore everything was fai-” He started before thayne pounced him under water again. Layren set an unamused stare at his mate when they where underwater. He frowned as a turtle suddenly passed them. Oh not the aquatic wildlife was laughing at him.

Thayne popped back up and paddled the rest of the way to the bank and heaved himself up. Still laughing uncontrollably, he staggered to a nearby tree and plopped down trying to catch his breath. He smiled widely at Layren. Silly mate. Thayne thumped his tail happily. He was absolutely drenched, but he didn't mind in the least.

Layren finally pulled his own self out of the water and just for good measure glared at the turtle and then back at thayne. Since the air was a bit chilly because it was storm season Layren shook off the excess water not caring he was going to fluff up for a few seconds. He could always tackle thayne again, even though on land he probably wouldn’t, the sun set phim really did have to take it easy.

Layren puffed up like a dandilion. A dandilion with paws and a sour expression. Needless to say Thayne cracked up again. Surging up, he bounded over to Layren and sunngles his cold, wet fur into Layren's puffed up dry-ish fur before giving Layren a lick on the cheek. "Thanks for taking care of me." He chirped happily.

Layren glared at the offender again and figured he should stop glaring for a while and just sigh. He didn’t want to get permanent frown lines so early in life and the glares didn’t seem to affect Thayne now at all. “Gah you got me all wet again, and you know you shouldn’t be laughing either you puff up just as bad. However I suppose a form of welcome is needed so…. Your welcome.”

Thayne grinned, too happy to be repentant at a glare, and bounced around a little. "I do puff up. Watch!" He said before shaking vigorously, sending water flying everywhere...including Layren. He poofed up and waggled around like a wiggly dandilion thing. A rumble from the sky above them had Thayne looking up. "Come on, Layren. Let's go home before it rains on us." he said, wagging his tail.

“Yes like I said you poof up as… mrgrrfrp” Layren cursed and let out some colorful language before uping his glare at the sunset phim. He knew he had just told himself to start sighing but this… this was definitely worthy of a big glare. “Now I’m all wet again, fine fine lets go home then” he stated still cursing under his breath. Stupid poofy mates that thought it was funny to get him wet again.

"You're not all wet, you big baby. You're just a little wet." Thayne said, licking Layren's cheek before flouncing out of reach. Maybe it was true, that phrase about laughter being the best medicine, because Thayne felt much, much better. "Come on, my sour mate, lets go home or it will rain and you really will be all wet." He reiterated, bouncing ahead on the trail, purple tail waving gaily behind him.

“Yes but I am wet enough to earn you a glare” Layren pointed out still frowning although he began trailing after thayne none the less. Come to think of it when did they start staying at that cave permanently? When he had gone there it was to eventually get rid of thayne, perhaps and just to visit to make sure everything was in order. Ah well it was a nice enough place to live he supposed. A lightning flash went across the sky. “Well I could do without all the storms though”

"You're going to be more wet if you stay out here any longer." Thayne said over his shoulder, cheekily. Tail waving jauntily, Thayne lead the way back to the cave and ducked into it. He supposed it wasn't really 'home'. But it was Layren was home, and this was where they were sleeping. As far as Thayne was concerned, 'home' was therefore extended to the cave.
He poked his head out a bit and grinned at Layren. "I think it's just the time of the year. We had one just a couple of days ago. Or was it yesterday?" He tilted his head before shrugging. Didn't really matter to him.
