Cyrilla stared on in abject horror as the questions continually spilled out of her friend's mouth. As if the growing concern about her friend turning into a human hadn't been enough for the day (thankfully the professor had quelled such concerns), but now he had... DETENTION?
When the professor wasn't looking she punched the boil's arm, giving him a look that read "What the jack are you trying to do here?" The defeated look on his face, though, made her reconsider hissing at him to keep his mouth shut for the remainder of the class... it kind of looked like he was going to stick with that route on his own. "Er... well I thought they were good questions." she half-heartedly whispered to the Lost Fathom's Leviathan.
"Maybe detention won't be... so bad." though she wasn't sure she'd ever want to stick around in Savage's office.
Cyrilla was certain, at this point, to simply keep her lips shut.

It wasn't as detailed as she hoped it would be, but it was a response and so for a while Sammy simply sat back and listened. She flinched at poor Merope though, it seemed like questioning certain things would swiftly land one detention around here.
"Just one more; Humans evolved and moved onto land and stuff, when did we first interact with them? Did we chase them even back when they were fish?"

Savage grin grew even wider as her head slowly turned to Sammy.
"Why do you think Humans went to land in the first place," Was all she said. There was a knowing glint in her eye.

Okay. Savage? Awesome. The glint in her eye and the wicked grin was enough to win the young ghoul over for the class. She made note of that statement and continued to lean forward to see what Savage would bring up next.
Glancing briefly at Riley she flashed a thumbs up and a nod; a general approval of the class thus far.

"Ow!" Merope hissed to Cyrilla as she punched him, dropping his pathetic why you so mean act to look at Cyr questioningly. He shrugged in response to her look. How was he supposed to know that being ignorant landed him in detention? Merope sighed unhappily. He would need to remember to stay after class though.
He nodded to his friend's statements. "I thought they were good too," he confessed, "Guess I'll have to meet up with you'n'Aymet later, yeah?"
Merope fell silent after that, keeping silent to avoid further detention time. Or try to, anyway -- chances were, he'd have another question sooner or later.

... Malodore did not have any more questions. Absolutely not. It sat up as attentively as it could manage, spine ramrod-straight, pencil at the ready for more lecture. Yes. More lectures and fewer detentions!

"Sorry." she sighed as the boil hissed in pain. "And yeah, I guess so. There goes tonight's plans." her nose wrinkled up. Not that their plans were much more than playing video games and coming up with random plans to toy with certain people in the school.
Not that those plans ever came to fruition, really. For the most part, they were pretty lazy when it came to actually going through with their ideas. Either way, it was an interruption in routine, and that was a bother. Though it was becoming more common considering how often Aymet kept landing there.
Cyrilla's head turned as one of the ghoul's in class asked their professor another question. She listened, seeming to enjoy the professor's answer. that was a good question too. Though she still didn't clearly understand what the other students were doing differently than Merope. Maybe it was because they were only asking one question at a time instead of half a dozen.
Who knew.

Whisper returned the gesture received from the boil to her right, though her grin was rather large. She was quite happy that she possibly wouldn't be so alone after all. Though whether or not she would use her usual stalking tactics outside of class was still undecided. After all, she didn't want to put all that time into acquiring a new friend if they ended up being boring and no fun. Unfortunately there was no more time for contemplation, the class was starting to pick up speed.
Her pen must have been moving the speed of light to catch up to all the questions and answers she had missed. Whisper tried her best to think of something impressive to ask, after all she didn't want to seem daft. However, that was how she was beginning to feel. Everytime she would think of something interesting to say, she would either forget part of it or jumble it up in her mind. Would she get a detention for being quiet? Unlikely, but you never knew around this place.

Riley's attention was absolutely focused once the word detention was uttered. Oh. Ohhh no. Not again. Was this teacher handing out detentions so freely? The excitement of the class waned - even after finding out that humans dried up and mummified without water, she couldn't shake off the dread of another detention. She fell silent, catching Sammy's expression and nodding in approval. Yes, the teacher was awesome. No, she didn't want detention. Conflicted by this, Riley decided the best choice was to absorb information silently. Clearly Professor Savage had a lot to teach them.

Oh it seemed the classroom was growing even more tense by the second. Savage knew the unexplained detention for Merope must have seen unfair to most of the students. Most of the students wouldn't understand though. Boats and Leviathans almost needed each other so it was heart breaking to Savage to hear Merope not knowing what one was. Savage clapped her hands. " POP QUIZ" Oh how she did love to say that. The chart flew back up into the ceiling as quickly as it had fell in front of the chalk board and Savage was passing out quizzes like lightning. She was like a kid in a candy store passing out each quiz with a joyful sadistic grin perched on her lips. " NOTES UP! And take your time filling out the chart." Savage wandered back to her desk and picked her boat book back up. Hopefully that would keep them busy for at least some time. ((OOC: Either draw in the missing stages are type them in. Make your answers as lawltastic as you want or as to the book as you want. Copying exactly what the chart was before and getting every answer will not get you brownie points. This is for fun. : D ))

A pop quiz? Already? Wait...they were supposed to be taking notes?! Oh no, ohnoohnoohno. Cyrilla shot a worried look at Merope, before glancing down at the quiz. OH! All they had to do was remake that chart she'd put up for them? She could do that! Easy!
As she pulled out a pen, she thought about each stage. She then looked at the quiz paper again, and stared blankly at it as everything left her brain. Jack damnit, she inwardly groaned. She should have been paying more attention to what the professor had been saying.
Whatever. She could do this.
She knew for a fact that the stage before man was a seamonster. Because she recalled she'd been scared Merope was suddenly going to come down with a case of humanitis. So, to commemorate that, the dracolich doodled in a little Merope in that spot.
Staring at the other two, she frowned. There was something about... something... and... MONKEYS! Yes monkeys! Not thinking much about it,she starting drawing the top of a monkey..partway through this, she remembered that they were supposed to be in the water. Okay. She stuck a fish tail on it and labelled it clearly "Mermonkey". As that's exactly how that worked.
Finally, she stared at the post gooball stage, and furrowed her brow, deep in concentration. Something watery...smaller than mer monkey of course...hmm. Well, when she'd lived in the water, sometimes she'd bite into shrimp... and they were small, and in the water.
Clearly they started as shrimp. Shrimp were pretty cute, maybe they should have stayed that way.
There. She was both done, and pleased with her answers. Win win!
She added stink lines to the human, just for her own benefit.

...What ? She'd thought her question was okay ! Wasn't this part of human history ?!
However, when detention flew out so easily, she became quite decided that question time in this particular class would not happen anymore. Maybe she'd get to ask Malodore instead ?
Hn.
She turned a bit to look at him with one risen eyebrow on her face. Clearly she'd need to catch him after this class.
'Can I ask you questions later.' was all she got to mouth before quiz time began and she had to turn again. She glanced down at the chart, and then at her sparse notes. She could do this... right ?
She really didn't want detention. That didn't sound fun at all.
There were notes about fish and monkeys and... Oh, damn, she'd missed one, hadn't she ?
Oh well. That was only one part. She could just do... whatever looked logical. Right ?
Though she had no idea why anything would want to go from sea monster to sea monkey.

As their Professor's answers to questions got steadily more aggravated, LW hunkered down in her seat a little and was glad she had Gabe sitting next to her. Her tail curled even tighter around her legs while the she-wolf stared at their Professor. Alright. No more questions. She didn't dare ask. Noooo way.
Wait. Pop quiz?! LW just wanted to let her head fall and slam against the desk at this point. She had yet to decide if she was enjoying this class maybe a little...or if she could make it out the door before anyone caught her. It was a stretch but she was a fast little wolf.
With an internal groan and a slight jump when the chart rolled back up, she accepted the sheet from the Professor and blinked at it. Oh hey! She could do this. If she remembered it all correctly. Maybe.
Pulling out her snake pen and started filling in answers. AKA: LW began to doodle.

Drawing. Why did it always have to be drawing? First the Botany class, now this.. Riley did not appreciate classes that highlighted her weaknesses, and she most certainly could not draw to save her life. She was infinitely pleased to hear that she was allowed to simply write out her answers for this quiz, at least. She had no notes to put away, simply recalling the chart from her mental storage and writing out textual equivalents to what the pictures had been.

It was not as 'cute' or 'creative' as she was sure drawing would have been.. but she would not draw unless forced.

It was a good thing that Myr had actually been paying attention, and he closed his notebook, although not before taking another quick look at his chart. It was simple enough, and he scribbled pictures onto the quiz paper. They weren't the best, and Myr knew it. Art wasn't exactly one of his strong points.
