Derra gave a smirk at the anticipated reaction. He had to contain himself though by her question. Most people would take it the wrong way but he knew what she meant. " Well, I'm not much of a fantasy reader but..." He walked over to the end of the aisle and pointed at some shelves. " This are the most checked out fantasy books. They set em up here since most students find these books the best to read." He told her with a smile. In his head though, all he was thinking about was of how to go about drawing blood from this girl, and a good amount as well. " Are you new here?" He asked her.

Ray smiled at Adelia, it was good to know that she wasn't the only one who was anti-social. The blush on her face slowly fading. "Normally, my brother...is the one who...likes to talk. I....will...chime in every so often." Ray said a little bit less awkwardly. Graves was always so talkative and more likely to make friends with people. Though she was getting a little more comfortable around Adelia. Hopefully she could gain something from this girl or at least have a common ground with her. Though most of Ray's interest was about Adelia's wings. They were white and looked soft, much different then her's.
Ray watched as said wings fluttered. They were so much more graceful, mystical, and lovely. Ray's on the other hand, were harsh in movement and her feathers weren't as fluffy and soft looking. Not know much about other creatures, so Adelia was new to Ray. Ray didn't even know much about her own kind. It didn't help that growing up her mother didn't do any thing that was religious. Only once did they go to church and it ended with them calling Ray a devil. Needless to say, they never went back. "I..bet..."
Part of the problem with Ray and religion was that her instinct was to disrupt and cause problems for any said religion. Didn't matter what religion, she could help herself. "I could....see why people would stare." Ray said to Adelia. "Not like mine." Ray said mostly to herself, as she pulled her eyes from Adelia's wings to her eyes. "this might sound....strange, but what are you?" Ray asked calmly as she cocked her to one side, a very curious look on her face.

Adelia laughed cautiously as Ray explained her anti-social type behavior. "I can completely relate. My friend...um...well, really my only friend thusfar does all the talking too," she replied feeling a bit more confident. The girl she was talking about hardly shut up. She was the only human she had spoken to since she ceased to be one. Nicole made her wonder if all humans really were that annoying and if she was once an annoying human as well. Delia felt some of her social skills coming back.
Adelia wondered why Ray kept looking at her wings. Sure, they were different from what one would find on any of the other students, but Ray's staring seemed to be of a different sort of disbelief. A sort that seemed more curious than demeaning. "Well, um, I used to be a human, but well, ever since my murder, well, I've been an angel," Adelia explained calmly.
A few weeks ago, she would have regretted talking about how she became what she was now. Then, it was still an open wound. Her death wasn't really that bad. It was quick really, but the fear was terrible. Not to mention watching while everyone she loved thought she was gone from them forever. That was part of the reason she was only friends with Nicole. The other lied in the fact that she really hadn't tried.

Ray chuckled lightly at Adelia's experience with a chatty companion. Mostly Graves had gotten more talkative after he died. Ray rationalized that he wanted to talk because there wasn't a reason to not talk. A 'life is short' mentality. Although Graves would keep himself cooped up in a room for days at a time with his books, blood and whatever food there was in the fridge to entertain himself. So he wasn't all that social, but much more than his dear sister. "Sometimes they make things more interesting." Ray said, thinking of all the times Graves' talking goth them into some 'situations'.
Ray listened as Adelia told her that she was human, but had been murder. Ray's face fell a little, barely registering that she said she was an angel. Murder, word she was familiar with, more than what angel meant. Ray could take a guess at angel meant, but at the moment was up for it. "I'm sorry...if i had know i wouldn't of asked." Ray said sadly as she fiddled with her claws nervously. She moved her talons a little, causing them to click against the floor. Ray's outfit hid the fact that she was a tengu quite well, but didn't allow for her wings to be 'out'. "Dying really sucks..." Now Ray felt guilty for staring at her wings, it not like Ray hadn't seen wings before.
(there are some funny parallels between our characters....)

Adelia shrugged. "You speak as though you've had experience," she said a bit more coldly than she would have liked. I suppose it did at first, but then I discovered flying and how awesome it is. It doesn't make up for the friends I lost though." She didn't want to sound could, but it just came out. She felt bad for sounding that way.
The angel felt bad after hearing Ray apologize for asking. It wasn't like it was her fault for being curious. "Don't be sorry, you didn't know," she smiled, trying to lighten the mood. However, that was hard to do if the topic one was discussing was murder, and even harder if the murder had been of one in the conversation. It wasn't Ray's fault she had been in the wrong place at the wrong time, or that she had once been highly inquisitive and adventurous.
(indeed...it's a bit odd. should be interesting to see where this goes)

Ray looked away, not sure if she should said how many times she has died. She also was unsure of telling Adelia about her wings, but Adelia had shared with her so she should share a little. "You can't see them right now. But yeah, the first time i tried to fly.....i landed on a shard of mirror." Ray said as she pointed right near her heart. "It pierced right here....." She still wasn't looking at Adelia as she told all of this. Ray didn't want to look at Adelia because she was kind of reliving what happened after that point. Ray looked back up at her, a sad smile across her face.
Ray pulled her claws away from her chest. "Alright, it just i've never meet another with wings..." She said with a blush returning to her face. She was more embarrassed by the fact that she didn't have her wings out and didn't want to frightened Adelia.
(yes it should be interesting)

Adelia imediately became even more curious about Ray once she had started talking about flying. As far as she knew, the other girl looked like another human, something which she once was, but wasn't any longer. "That must have sucked," the angel said softly.
She hardly realized what Ray was talking about, but she did want to know what she was. Could this girl fly without wings? Or did she have some other, secret power that allowed her to fly without them? Whatever it was that Ray was, Adelia wanted to know. "Flying?" she sounded a bit shocked. "Um, not to seem rude or anything, but since you already asked me, how can you fly?"

Ray nodded sheepishly, it had suck. she was just glad that Graves had been there to help, though Ray wished he could of handle it differently. Her blush seemed to dark as Adelia started to ask her about being able to fly. "ummmmm....yeah i can fly...." She scratched the back of her head. "It's kind of hard to explain." Ray's mind was trying to think of how best to show her. She could make them come out, but it would destroy her kimono and leave Ray out a top. As much fun as running around with nothing would be, Ray figured out a better way of telling Adelia.
Ray carefully walked closer towards Adelia, her talons clicking as she walked. "i can't explain it right this second, but i can show you, Delia." Ray said as he leaned down to to pull up the bottom of the hakama pants. Under the large flowing garment was a massive clawed crow foot. The large talons that were like polished onyx. Feathers covered most of her clawed foot, they shimmered a dark purple and green. "I can fly, cause i'm part bird....we're called uhhh......Tengu." Ray said with a unsure smile. "My brother...found some sort of....spell that allows me to hide my wings...." Ray was kind of nervous talking about Graves and his spells. Knowing spells is one thing, but the other ability he has should be kept secret. Just so as not to be abused by the wrong people. Plus it wasn't her place to tell her brother's secret.

Adelia wondered what Ray meant by saying it was hard to explain. Sure it was hard to explain just the ability to fly, if Adelia's wings weren't out the entire time, she'd probablly have a hard time explaining too.
Her eyes grew wide as the girl pulled up the bottom of her pants. She would have never expected the bottom half of a girl who appeared to be human to be like that of a crow. "That's pretty cool," Delia said in amazement. "Sometimes I wish that my feathers were a darker color like yours. Then they wouldn't show if I had gotten anything on them." The angel never really had been a fan of white, and often wished that she could dye her wings some other color, but every time she tried, white feathers would come out and replace the ones she had colored. "I can understand about wanting to hide them. People must give you a hard time," Adelia said thinking about how Nicole was. She always used to ask the angel if she could give her rides or to borrow them. The silly human didn't understand that they were actually attached.

Ray was a little surprised by how Adelia reacted to her leg. Her body responded by flexed Ray's talons a little. She wasn't really sure why Adelia liked the color of her feathers. Her's were as pretty, if not more, than Ray's feather. "The feathers' color are more about camouflage than anything, but i guess that's true." Ray said having not really thought to much about them other than protection. Mostly what Ray knew was threw instinct.
Ray gave Adelia a curious look about people giving her a hard time. Mostly they lived where no one else was, but back when they were in foster care the kids were horrible to her. "Yeah, just a little bit. also to make room in our dorm room." Ray said. "Though Graves would like if i get use to walking around with my more human form. I can't walk real well on just plain feet. Some thing about them aren't that stable." Ray laughed a little at the thought since Adelia was human and was more use to feet than Ray was.

Adelia laughed along with Ray at the comment about feet. "I know about that, I'm pretty clumsy on mine, and I had no choice about using them for a long time," she managed to say through her snickering. She hadn't been the best with balance before she had been murdered, and she was fairly certain she hadn't gotten any better in the time she had gained her wings. She hardly used them for much, since she didn't want to seem clumsy. After all, she had never really heard of a clumsy angel before, and although it would make her known for something, Delia wasn't sure if that was what she wanted to be known for.

"Really? I would think you could use your wings to keep your balance if you started to fall." Ray asked, still kind of laughing. Ray was one to talk, sometimes even with her bird feet she would fall. Ray was having fun with Adelia, she was glad that she had came over to talk to her. This was the most fun she had had.......since that game of tag. 'Oh, I wonder how Justin is doing.' She blinked a couple of times. Ray was trying to not cry at the thought, at least she could blame it on the laughing. "If you want, when I'm wearing something better, I could show you my wings." Ray said wiping under her eyes and smiled at Adelia.
A man walked down the hallway, twirling the feather. He headed into the library, hearing a few people taking. Six only took a quick look, seeing the two girls talking. He didn't think much of it, two dames chatting away. He decided to not ask them, since they would probably be of no help to him. Shrugging he wandered out of the library, not really caring about the fact on of the girls had wings herself nor the conversation they were having. "....god damn angels." Six grumbled to himself as he scratched the right side of his face.

Adelia laughed along with Ray at the comment. "I suppose..." she managed to say through the laughter. The girl was surprised that nobody was telling them to quite down with the loud laughing that the two of them were doing. Once she had calmed down a bit, Delia thought about what Ray suggested. "I think that I would like that."
The angel looked up as she saw someone down at the end of the hallway. It looked like a man carrying a feather. Adelia couldn't see the color, as she only saw this out of the corner of her eye. She could have swore she heard him say something about angels. "Who was that?" Delia asked out of curiosity as she pointed to where the man had been. He was nearly out the door by the time she got the chance to say anything.

Ray's laughter slowly died down to a chuckle. It felt like it had been a while since she had laughed like this. With a stranger no less, although by this point they were at the very least acquaintances or even friends. "Alright, i can pull that off then." Ray said with a warm smile. Ray blinked a few times and turned around. Seeing a fleeting color of blue and a dark jacket. "I...i...i Don't know." Ray said with a touch of nervousness, but there was something else to it. "I didn't get to see who it was." Though this made Ray curious as well as to who had walked in so suddenly and left as quickly. 'I wonder who that was?' Ray thought to herself.
All that could be heard was the clicking of boot heels and a slight whistling from said stranger. "There's a lot of creatures here, it almost like finding a bird in animal pile." Six said to himself, calm and interested in what else this 'school' has to offer.

Adelia smiled as Ray replied to her comment about seeing her wings. She thought that it would be nice to see a different style of wings other than her own. After all, everyone was different. At this point, Adelia was glad that she had decided to pay attention to her surroundings. It had not only shown her that not only putting her foot into the metaphorical water could actually not be harmful, but that she could meet new people. People that she could eventually get to trust...even if they weren't human.
The nervousness in Ray's voice concerened Delia. The angel couldn't help but wonder if the Tengu had something happen that would cause her to be concerned about the strange man. "I didn't really get a good look at his face, but he had a feather in his hands," she said, not sure of what else to say.
