User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Only partially suppressing a smile as he heard Raziel apologize, Ellion shook his head. "No, it's quite alright. It would be just as wrong for me not to forgive you. You've been through a lot here on earth, I understand that, and I'm sorry for taking my feelings out on you. It's just..." he hesitated before continuing. "I've always tried my best to treat angels with the same respect I would treat other humans, especially those who live in this house with me. However...despite my best efforts I always feel their odd stares when I pass through the marketplace or visit one of my customers' houses. I know they look at me and think of me as any other human, much like you did."

Staring into the bottom of his teacup as he thought, Ellion continued, "The worst is always that there is nothing I can do in those situations. In my own house I can do all in power to make the angels comfortable and well-provided for, but what can I do to prove myself to those I meet only in passing? Nothing at all it seems..." Shaking his head once more, Ellion forced himself to smile for his guest and took another sip of tea.

Listening to the sharp clink as he set the cup back down, he again said, "I apologize for my rambling. This is not the time for me to be venting my troubles, and I doubt it will help you either," he noted, thinking once more of Raziel's need to recover and regrow his wings. "Why don't we talk about something less gloomy...how about...hmm." He furrowed his brow as he attempted to come up with a subject that they would be on equal ground in. While it seemed the angel had read many books before, he doubted they had read too many of the same texts considering the difference in where they came from, and it seemed there was little else they had in common.

"Well, what about yourself?" he asked, thinking it best to start with the basics. "Why don't you tell me about yourself, like what you like to eat and what kinds of things you like to do other than read books...and feel free to ask me anything you'd like to know. I'd be more than welcome to set your mind at ease about myself if I'm able." Raising his cup to his lips after he'd finished speaking, Ellion felt the steam from the shallow pool of tea remaining at the bottom well up and brush his nose before draining the last few drops.

User ImageRaziel looked quite surprised when Ellion told him everything is alright and that it would be wrong not to forgive him. As the man continued to explain though Raziel understood why the man was not doing as he had suggested. He didn’t quite agree with the man’s reasoning but he could understand as the human’s reasoning. “No you were right to say what you did, without your say so I would have continued to treat you unfairly.” Raziel said giving a soft apologetic look.

“It would only be fair for them to assume never having known you that you are the same as the humans that claim to own them.” Raziel explained when Ellion said he felt the stares of the other angels he encountered in the market place.
“What you do here is more than any angel can expect to get in this current world, I’m sure the angels in your care are quite thankful. Although I have not shown it I am thankful for you saving me from the place I had been and allowing me the chance to heal.” Raziel said softly he too staring down into his drink. “There is really nothing you can do really to prove yourself to the others outside of your care but declare yourself to be against what humanity has been for the past few years. It wouldn’t be recommended either.” Raziel continued to explain. Raziel smiled when Ellion apologized for his rambling his golden eyes holding a small bit of amusement. He shook his head when the man said the ramblings were not going to help either of them. More amusement came forth as Ellion tried to change the subject.

“Myself?” Raziel questioned. What would be interesting about himself that the human, Ellion would want to know. “Well I guess I have a bit of a sweet tooth, sweet things are always appealing to me.” Raziel admitted softly almost embarrassed. “I like the sunlight, and I like learning about things, anything mostly. The other angels called me a scroll worm because the easiest way to learn things is through the books in heaven. I’m not very good at summoning a watch glass.” Raziel commented his face falling. Learning about earth would have been easier if he had been any good at a watch glass but he wasn’t so he read horribly out of date journals.

“What about yourself, what do you do beside manage the angels you buy and sell. Are there any other humans that you know of that are like yourself in many respects in taking care of the angels in their care?” Raziel questioned he wanted to know if there were other angels close that were being taken as well care of.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Relieved that Raziel seemed understanding of his outbursts, Ellion smiled and nodded. "Yes, I understand. I suppose I'll just have to do my best to set an example for other humans...although I must admit that, despite my financial success, I'm not one of the more popular faces in local circles. Quite honestly I think most people consider me an oddball." Chuckling lightly, he added, "I really can't blame them. I suppose I am a bit eccentric. I mean, even now I'm sitting here in my own room having a perfectly normal chat with an angel over tea and sweets. That's something I'm sure not every human can say they've done. Pity; it's rather nice."

"Kai seemed to like sunlight too," Ellion mentioned off-hand, remembering the female's assertion that the youngling would need proper time in the sun to grow. Although he'd never spent much time outside as a child himself, Ellion knew that plants needed sunlight and that many animals enjoyed a good deal of it.

"Summoning a watch glass?" Ellion asked, a bit confused. Thinking about it for a moment, he asked, "Do you mean something like a looking glass or a telescope?" Having never heard of the term before, he could only gather from what the angel said that it would allow for seeing great distances, and so assumed it was a looking glass. "I believe I have a looking glass somewhere in the library. There's a section with things like maps, a globe, and a sextant...I wouldn't be surprised if I had an old looking glass around there, if you're interested," he offered, wondering if it was something Raziel would be interested in.

Taking a moment before answering, Ellion said, "Well, I read a lot as well. In fact, I believe I spend more time cooped up in my library than I do in the rest of the whole house, not counting sleeping at night. I do trade in things other than angels, so there's a lot of paper work to be done if I want to keep my finances straight. On top of that I need to go around and visit clients occasionally, both for work and just to socialize. It's important to keep a good relationship with clients, even when they aren't buying, so that they'll come to you first whenever they happen to need something. Quite honestly, my work takes up a good portion of my life," he admitted, hoping it didn't sound boring or pathetic.

When asked about other angel keepers, Ellion wasn't sure what to say. "Well, no one I know of treats them the same way I do," he admitted, but continued, "A few of the people I know only keep one or two angels and treat them rather like spoiled pets, although I'm sure you would consider that demeaning. I refuse to sell angels to people I suspect would mistreat them, so you can assured that my customers are respectable people. For the most part they keep them around the house as ornaments or maids, so they treat them well enough to keep them looking nice."

User Image“We are alike in many ways it seems then.” Raziel said giving a small smirk. He had never thought that he would have much in common with a human but here one was that seemed to have many similar likes and problems from his life style as Raziel did. “No I suppose you cannot but I’ll bet they know nothing about the angels they keep in their household and those there would escape at a moments notice should they have a chance.” Raziel continued.

“Sunlight is a precious thing to us, the warmth of it strengthens us. Under the sun we feel I guess what humans call a feeling of being enlightened. If we were underground we would be weak and nearly defenseless. In the sun we know how close we can be to the sky and our home.” Raziel explained as best he could. He knew the explanation did not do anything the justice it deserved but he just couldn’t find the words for it.

“Looking glass? Telescope?” Raziel questioned just as confused about the things Ellion spoke of as the human was of his watching glass. “Globe, sextant?” more words that confused the angel. “I would be quite interested but I believe we are speaking of different things. A watching glass is not really a glass its more a sphere of magic that allows us to watch something going on here on earth or around our home.” Raziel explained. “Its not terribly hard to create but I have never been good at things like that, its why I stick to reading scrolls. Its easier for me to learn of earth that way.”

The blond angel listened as Ellion described what he liked to do and what he did on a daily basis. Paperwork sounded interesting but Ellion seemed to think less of it, Raziel supposed he would have to experience it himself. “Relationships are important in any community, be it plant animal, human or angel.” Raziel agreed. Raziel nodded understandingly when Ellion said none of the other angel keepers that he dealt to took as good of care of the angels as he did. He understood no human was the same but many had a lot of similarities. “But all still steal our feathers.” Raziel said with a sigh. He couldn’t get past that one thing.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show."Indeed," Ellion agreed simply, thinking it funny that they could have such a civil conversation with one another despite the current affairs. "I suppose," he said with a blank face at the angel's next comment, however, not knowing how much to take as criticism and how much was simply a statement of fact.
Despite their mutual understanding, it seemed as though there would always be a hint of awkwardness between them, as they were certainly not on equal terms socially.

Listening to Raziel's explanation of their need for sunlight, Ellion said, "Well, both plants and animals need sunlight to remain healthy, so I suppose it isn't so odd." As he thought about it, however, Ellion realized just how many differences there were between humans and angels other than their social statuses. Chief among them seemed to be their attitudes; the angels were much more emotionally reserved, at least from what Ellion had seen of them. In fact, it made it difficult to sympathize and understand them, and he wondered if that had anything to do with the bad blood between the two races. After all, humans were very attached to their own emotions, and rarely found themselves able to attach themselves to others without some kind of emotional involvement. For most of his life, however, Ellion hadn't been overly fond of other humans, and he had long admired the traits which angels possessed that he had never found in another human.

Noting the angel's confusion, Ellion explained, "They're all navigational implements. If you want to see how they work, I've got some in the library. I'll show you one of these days, if you like. Honestly, though, some of them are a bit outdated. Still, they make nice ornaments from what I've found." Listening to such talk of magic was confusing, although he'd known already that angels possessed it. Still, trying to imagine such attempts made him furrow his brow, and he asked, "Is magic easy? Is it similar to physical strength in that the larger the task the more tiring it is? I've never heard much about magic, since humans can't use it."

Hoping he had not aroused Raziel's suspicions with such a question, Ellion said with a chuckle, "Well, plants don't really have relationships in so many words, though I know they depend on other living things for certain needs. But yes, relationships in general are important to any society. At the jab about feathers, however, Ellion said, "Well, I don't," with a shrug. "It's like cheating at a sport; it takes all the fun out of trying if you just wish your way to happiness. Many people call me old-fashioned for it, but I refuse to use feathers for my own gain. In fact, the only time in my life I've used a feather was to find you, and that was given to me as a gift from one of the maids here after I helped her and the other angels with an issue they were having." Purposefully not mentioning what had been the problem, Ellion hoped that Raziel would come to see him in a more favourable light during his stay.

User ImageRaziel looked a bit guilty when Ellion did not respond to his comment about humans not knowing much about his kind. He decided it was better that the man had refused to comment on his words because he realized that maybe his own kind had not given the human race a chance to know them. Glad for the subject change when the went on about sunlight Raziel gave a soft upturn of his lips.

Raziel watched the man think for a few minutes wondering if he was wondering about the same thing as himself. Wondering how life was going to be for him now that he had agreed to stay in the human’s dwelling while Kai was allowed to escape back to heaven. It had been a reasonable trade and in truth it gave him something to fight for to keep him on the path of light. He supposed life so far hadn’t seemed so bad with the human, fresh food and the lack of physical pain being brought down on him made him much more comfortable. Then it seemed that the man had so many interesting things, it was just the ache in his chest of Lucifer’s calling for him to fall promising things that Raziel did not know if he could give or not.

The angel was terribly confused by the things Ellion described. “Navigational, you mean you don’t know instinctively where to go? You have nothing to tell you what you seek is in a certain direction without help?” Raziel questioned yet even more surprised. “I would very much like to see these devices if I may, I do not want to possibly cause harm to something you may need however. “I suppose maybe it is different for your kind. Magic has always been gifted to us so if you have never experienced it, it might be difficult. It would explain your need for devices that tell you where to go. It seems a bit of a shame your kind cannot use magic, I swore I read something that said there were humans that could use it.” Raziel continued puzzled by the new turn of data.

Raziel looked to Ellion with his green eyes widening almost comically. The human; Ellion, thought using angel feathers was like cheating at a game. Raziel couldn’t believe and yet he did, the angel that had brought them food didn’t seem to be missing any feathers. “You used a feather to find me?” Raziel questioned he felt surprised and suddenly very grateful to the man. He had no idea why Ellion would care to find him but he was grateful, extremely so having. Ellion did not seem to be like the other humans he had encountered.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Smirking a bit, Ellion though it odd that something so simple would come as a shock to a being so enlightened as an angel. Did they really know so little about humans? "Well, we may know where exactly we want to go, but we can still get lost along the way if we haven't travelled the exact path before, and even if we have, we may have forgotten our way. We have no internal compass or mental map other than what we remember seeing before. So usually people need maps and compasses to show them where they're going. The other instruments I have are for navigation at sea, which is even trickier, since there are nearly no land marks to go by out there. I've never personally been on a boat, but the fact that people have made careers of such things boasts how complicated it must be."

Hearing about magic, Ellion merely shrugged. "I suppose. I have to wonder though if it would make people better or worse off morally. Would the added power go to their heads and cause more war and greed, or would the strengthened sense of self reliance and worth calm their spirits?" he muse aloud, interested in what the actual outcome might have been. "There are some humans to claim to be able to use magic, but it has always been exposed as mere trickery. There is some fiction literature which also has humans using magic, but this is simply fantasy, a willing suspension of disbelief by the reader for the sake of enjoyment," he explained, wondering how much angels actually knew about human affairs.

When Raziel mention the feather, Ellion was confused, but explained, "The female angel told me that the young boy had a teacher who had likely already arrived here on Earth and that it was your job to teach the boy everything he needed to know. For his sake, I decided to locate you, considering the female's warnings that any mishandling in the boy's upbringing might have dire consequences. Neither of them knew where you were, however, and there was no way I would have been able to ask around at every place that sold angels, so I used the feather I had been given not long before. Luckily it worked just as well as I would have expected it to, and we retrieved you without incident."

Wondering what Raziel made of all this, he finished with, "I'm just sorry that we couldn't have gotten to you sooner. You've suffered through a lot it seems..."

User Image“You mean you don’t automatically know where to go when you search for something…. Its so strange but then again my kind is quite used to it. It is something all angels have as soon as we are made. I wonder what it would be like to get lost and not know where you were going to end up. It might be fun…” Raziel said with a bit of amusement. The idea appealed to him. To never really know where he was going, it sounded more than fun, it sounded adventurous. “I suppose you use the items to find your way when you want to find your way after you have gotten lost though.” Raziel said puzzling the thought of the navigational devices once more. He would need to see these things the humans had created to help them with finding their way.

“I think it might depend on the person on what they would do with magic should it be granted to them. You humans seem to be quite strange in that. I could only hope that it would not go to war efforts. Magic was never truly meant for that, it was to make life easier. Maybe that is why not many humans seem to show it now…” Raziel said frowning. “Disbelief is caused by the need to prove that things exist, to be able to hold it and feel it. For example weren’t my kind not truly believed in until we descended to earth and you were able to capture and control us?” Raziel continued. “My point is that you may not always be able to prove something is there but most of the time it certainly is, maybe just beyond your reach.”

“It is true should Kai have been mishandled it is quite a good chance that he would have fallen. It is quite easy for adolescents to fall which is why they are supposed to remain in paradise until they have matured.” Raziel said nodding when Ellion explained how Azrael had told him about needing to handle Kai carefully. “I was underground which is why they were unable to locate me, should I have been above ground they would have found me easily. Under the ground is a demon’s domain. The sky is an angel’s domain and the surface of the earth is our neutral ground.” Raziel explained. “While it is true I suffered in that place and will continue to have to recover from it there was nothing you could have done to get me earlier. You came as soon as you were able, I am thankful for that, and to you for wanting to find me. Surely I would have fallen without a chance if you had not come. While I was there I felt and heard many of my kind fall.” Raziel shivered as he remembered the screams of the falling.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show."Yes, that's it," Ellion said as the angel finally seemed to understand. As it was, there must have been even greater differences between their two races than he had originally thought.

Shaking his head the next minute, Ellion explained, "It may be fun for someone who could always find their way, but for humans it can be very dangerous to get lost. Get lost in a city and you risk getting murdered, robbed, what have you. Get lost in the forest and you stand a good chance of getting eaten or dying of exposure. Get lost at sea and, well...that might be the worst of them all." Thinking it off that anyone would ever willingly get themselves lost, he added, "I suppose you would do quite well in a maze race, though, if you could know which way to go. In any case, we use the tools to ensure we never become lost in the first place. Most travel is either for pleasure or business. If you're on vacation, you certainly don't want to waste your time and money wandering around some random road, and if you're off for business, there isn't a moment to spare. You've always got to do your best."

Smiling knowingly, Ellion said, "Yes, I suppose that's true. Different people have very different hearts at times. It would depend on the individual what they would use such power for. I do caution, however, that in wrong hands it would lead to the utter destruction of peace as anyone knows it." Trying not to think of all the different ways humans might be able to ruin the earth and society were they ever given magic powers, Ellion considered his own beliefs. He was not a particularly spiritual person, but he had to agree with the angel's assertions.

"Yes, I suppose it's true that most people considered your kind the stuff of lore until the first angels descended to earth. You can't really blame anyone for wanting proof of something, can you, though? I mean, if people didn't require proof, anyone could go around claiming anything they liked for their own gain, regardless of the impact it might have on others. That would be almost as dangerous as magic falling into the wrong hands as we mentioned." Wondering if angels all trusted each other so easily that a demand for proof had become so foreign, Ellion began to understand why their races had so boldly clashed during their first encounters.

Thinking on it for a moment, Ellion asked, "You mean to say demons are real as well? I've always been aware of those in the hearts of man, but I must say for all the angels I've seen, I've never actually seen a demon. Are they all evil?" Not wanting to sound too interested in what was surely a difficult subject for the angel, the nobleman continued, "Perhaps it is fitting that such humans as those who held you captive lived in the demon's domain."

Falling silent for a moment, Ellion pulled out his pocket watch and checked the time. Looking a bit surprised, he chuckled. "We've been talking for quite some time now, it seemed. I'm surprised, I hadn't noticed the time flying by. Well...I suppose I should leave you to your rest. Just a moment," he added before going out into the hall and calling upon an angel servant to take away their dishes. Coming back into the room, Ellion explained, "I've got some business tomorrow, but I'll have enough time to see you again in the afternoon. I'll have one of the other angels check on you in the morning and bring you meals until I'm back. Once you're feeling better, you're welcome to the library. Well...good night," he said with some awkwardness, not entirely sure how to handle such a situation.

Returning to his own room, Ellion prepared for the night and sighed, feeling more tired than usual. His time with Raziel had made him think too much, and his head hurt. While he knew it was important for them to be on good terms, he just wish he didn't have to be so on-guard when speaking to the man. After all, they appeared about the same age, though he would have bet a good deal that the angel had lived far longer than he. Settling down for the night, he only hoped his guest would loosen up after a few days in the mansion.

User Image“You humans make everything so complicated with your greed.” Raziel huffed almost pouting when Ellion told him that humans were murdered, and robbed when they had gotten lost. As the man continued to explain more things that could cause him problems should he get lost in different areas Raziel felt his hopes dashed. “Do your people ever take the time to sit back and watch the flowers grow?” Raziel exclaimed throwing his arms into the air. “you want to use magic to harm each other, when you get lost you have to be afraid of those around you instead of feeling free enough to seek help. Why do you do such things to yourselves?”

“There is no peace here with how you live your lives. Peace does not involve the enslavement of another race nor fearing your neighbor. Peace does not mean having to rush through every moment of your life trying to get something done. There may be times for such action but not constantly.” Raziel tried. Looking out the balcony towards the sky a sad expression over came him. “This is not how things were meant to be, Lucifer’s fall was not meant to be.” He said softly.

Hearing Ellion speak more the young teacher turned his attention back to the man. “Belief in something that you cannot see, touch, taste or smell is something your kind encounters everyday. There is one sense if you just used it, you would know the things you cannot see, touch, taste or smell are there. If you listen carefully enough you can hear the wind whisper, the earth groan and the water cry. Even the animals speak, but you don’t try. Your kind thinks them too stupid or inanimate unable to speak as you do. While they do not speak words, they do speak.” Raziel explained smiling; he resisted the urge to lift a hand into the small breeze that entered the room. “If you use common sense you would be able to tell who was lying and who wasn’t. You have instincts for reasons.” Raziel argued more.

“Certainly demons are true, come Lucifer’s fall they exited the hearts and melded with souls of dark men. It is a rumor that the first demon was a lover of his. Once again you fall into the thoughts of seeing is believing. They are there they just do not want you to see them, but if you listen closely you can hear them whisper dark words. The beckon you to do dark things, kill, harm, lie and cheat.” Raziel said shivering. “They were there while I was underground, and with me when you first brought me here. They whispered to me that it would be better to fall, that it wouldn’t hurt so much. It would hurt less than the pain I had felt at that moment and during the torture.” Raziel continued. “I don’t know if all are evil, I thought they were trying to help me when they spoke to me.”

“It is quite late.” The angel agreed. Raziel was unsure if he wanted to rest even though he knew he should. “You need not worry about me if you are busy. I should be able to move on my own tomorrow for shirt periods of time. I think I shall visit your library.” Raziel said giving a nod. “Maybe peace find you in your sleep.” He bid goodnight. Once Ellion had left Raziel lay down allowing his eyes to close and sleep to claim him and his energy to work at healing his body once more.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. The next morning, Ellion woke even earlier than usual, and found the only thing on his mind to be the otherworldly guest sleeping just down the hall. Despite their mostly genial conversation the previous night, Ellion couldn't help but fel that he had left Raziel with a bad taste in his mouth. Unfortunately, work was called to him, and he had no choice but to push such issues to the back of his mind until he returned home later in the afternoon.

As he left for his meetings, Ellion hoped that the two angels he had left in charge of caring for Raziel did a good enough job and did not speak too ill of the humans they had encountered. Of course, there was nothing he could have done to sway them either way, and he didn't wish to make any false pretenses when it came to either Raziel or the angels under his care in general. Regardless of what they thought of him, he could only hope that his only fairness and kindness towards the angels did them some good.

***

Later that day, when Ellion finally returned home, he left his coat with a servant before hurrying into his study, needing to finish up his reports for the day and get some things mailed before it slipped his mind and he became too preoccupied with his guest.

Sitting down at his desk, Ellion pulled out a small stack of papers from a drawer as well as a pen and ink well and began his work. It was tiresome to have to do all of the paperwork for his business himself, but it was an important enough step that he would trust no one else with keeping it in order. Of course, he knew just as well that there were plenty of capable people who would gladly work for him, but Ellion had always preferred to do as much work on his own as possible.

As he sat silently at his desk, pen tip scratching rapidly back and forth across the papers, Ellion was completely absorbed in his own world, unaware of his surroundings and wanting only to finish the day's accounts. In mere minutes he had finished and sealed several envelopes with important documents. Neatly filing the rest away into the same drawer he'd taken them from, he rushed out to hand the envelopes to a servant with the order to have them mailed immediately before returning with a contented sigh to his study.

Breathing in the comforting smell of old books, Ellion flopped down onto a couch closer to the first set of shelves and closed his eyes. Leaning his head back, he let his mind wander as he drifted back and forth between consciousness and lightly dozing.

User ImageRaziel awoke as the sun rose the next morning, he was tired but he was always awoke at that time. He sat up with a groan, his body ached but he could already tell he would not be as immobile as the days before. He would be able to move but only small distances before his body gave out and he needed to rest. Moving from the bed he decided some direct sunlight would help him.

Raziel walked to the open balcony and sat under the awakening sun. Raziel was able to watch as Ellion left his home and went to whatever it was that he had to do. Raziel felt a bit disappointed that the man left without saying goodbye but he knew he would be back. Resting in the sunlight and soaking up the warmth and energy from the sun for awhile Raziel decided that he could make it to the library. The walk was pleasant, this early in the morning it was quiet and he passed no one.

Raziel remained in the library all day, he had fallen asleep for awhile after reading something. When he had awoken however he had gone back to reading the many books he found in the library. He was barely aware of when Ellion returned except by the sudden rush of people moving around the home. Raziel determined it was best to stay put until things had settled down.

Raziel waited until such a time where there was very little movement through the house to go and search out Ellion. He found the man dozing in a study. Approaching the man he gently shook his shoulder. “It is not good to sleep in such a place. Perhaps a bed would be more suitable.” Raziel suggested.

"Ah, don't worry about me. I often doze off here after work, it's no harm," he assured his guest before setting himself back up straight and patting down his hair. Offering the seat next to him, Ellion asked, "Did you find the library all right today? And how are you feeling?" Regardless of the fact that Raziel was an angel, Ellion regarded him more as a guest of the house than a servant or anything under his possession, and he made sure to act as a proper host would.

"Please forgive that I did not find you sooner upon my return. Work was rather much today, even for me, and I'm afraid I had more to deal with here. It seems to have worn me out a bit...but that's never anything a nap hasn't fixed for me," he added, wondering if angels took naps often, if at all. Fixing the collar of his shirt, Ellion checked the clock on the wall before saying, "My my, I seem to have slept nearly an hour away. Still, dinner is a while off. Was there anything you wanted to do in the mean while? Ah, you mentioned before about wanting to see the navigational tools...if you're still interested, I could show you their use now?" he offered, hoping to keep the angel entertained enough to alleviate some of his suffering.

Gesturing to a door on one of the walls, Ellion commented, "This study is actually adjacent to the library, attached by that door, even though they both also have their doors to the main hall. It's much easier, you see, when I need reference materials and such to simply walk through. It leads to the rear of the library, anywhere, which is where I keep such things, fittingly. Speaking of which, were you able to find materials to your liking? The place is rather large and, I admit, perhaps not the best organized. When you know where to look, however, you may rarely find yourself disappointed."

User ImageRaziel gave a soft smile as Ellion smiled to him. “If you’re sure no harm will come to you in such a state.” Raziel said. The angel took the seat as it was offered to him. Sitting down with a small sigh he relaxed. “I found the library just fine, there are so many things to explore so many wonderful things to read.” Raziel said smiling; he remembered the hundreds of books that he had never seen before. “I feel sore, and I too fell asleep in a chair for sometime while visiting the library.” The angel admitted partially. He wasn’t going to tell Ellion that he couldn’t walk far without getting dizzy.

“You are a busy man I would not expect your company so soon. I waited until things calmed in your house before I came to find you. I didn’t want to disturb your time to relax either, if work was difficult today I can let you be and return to the room or library.” Raziel continued to speak. “You would show me the navigational tools now?” he questioned excitedly. He had wondered all day where the man kept such things but felt uneasy going to look for them or messing with them.

He listened as Ellion explained that his study was connected to the library. “I doubt I could find myself disappointed for many months to come there is so much in your library that I have never seen. To be honest I only saw the front of the library before I was caught up in three different books.” Raziel said giving a soft blush. He couldn’t help it, he loved book, he loved gaining the knowledge.

I like to read for long periods of time when I'm in the mood, and thus it's important to have a comfortable place to recline." It pleased Ellion to know that Raziel had found enjoyment in his library. Certainly if he could keep the angel's spirits up and show him a good time, his wings would appear white once more.

"No no, not at all. I'd been rather looking forward to your company," Ellion explained with a wave of his hand. He certainly didn't want the angel to think he might be intruding upon his time. "I would love to show you the navigational tools, if you like," he said with a cheerful smile, standing and waiting for the angel accompany him. "They're nearer the back of the library, closer to where this door opens up," he explained as they stepped through the door that joined the two rooms. The back of the library had a small section for maps of all sorts, a large globe, and a few tables with an assortment of different odd-looking instruments.

As he went through the table, explaining what each of the objects was called and what it was used for, Ellion subtly observed the look in the angel's eye. There was a hopeful glimmer there that reassured him that they would be able to get along just fine. After the first few, he asked, "I do hope this isn't boring you," wanting to be sure his explanations had not become too long-winded. He had a habit of rambling on whenever he found great interest in a topic. Continuing with a slightly more subdued tone, Ellion waited for them to be done before asking, "What do you think? For someone who can always know where he is...I suppose it seems a little excessive to have so many different tools for determining location. Still, even those that are now obsolete still hold great historical significance."
