"What do you mean, 'what?'" She replied, trying feverishly to get rid of the grin on her face that refused to subside. She cleared her throat and managed to dull it down to a small smile, easily disguised as a friendly gesture, and pulled out Odette's pokeball and recalled the Pidgeot. "We were having a lovely conversation about battles and coordinators and names, don't you remember?" Of course he didn't, but he didn't need to know that she knew.
Zeus blinked curiously at Lucas, then at Claire, before he shrugged sleepily and climbed up his owner's right side and perched himself on her shoulder. There was no way he would go back into his pokeball.

"No, I--" he looked down at his attire, "--was sleeping. Went to bed. Pajamas and everything. ...Right?" This was fairly distressing. He was well aware that he had random lapses in memory, and he was used to finding himself in different places than he remembered being, but something about the whole situation seemed... off.

"Really?" She said, raising her eyebrows slightly. "I was in here training Zeus and Odette when you walked in to exercise, and you most certainly were not wearing pajamas when you walked in." Poor Lucas, but this was actually quite amusing. The fact he'd looked at her for confirmation made the situation all the more sad-but-amusing.
"Well," she said, "perhaps you did go to bed, and you're just dreaming? That happens a lot, you know, where you're asleep and suddenly you're somewhere entirely different. It feels completely, utterly real, until you suddenly realize you're dreaming. I think that's where the old phrase 'pinch me, I must be dreaming' stemmed from," she said with a shrug before walking over to pick up Odette's backpack. Once she had it slung over her right shoulder (Zeus was quite displeased to share his perch with a bag), she headed for the door. "Goodnight, Lucas. I'm sure you'll wake up in the morning, in your pajamas and in bed where you left yourself. Dreams are funny like that, aren't they?"
She couldn't help but smile at the situation, before she paused halfway through the door. "Goodnight, Luke," she said with a small smirk, then disappeared into the hall.

Dreaming? That was... weeeeeeird. But plausible. Or so he assumed. Who was he to doubt the wisdom of the almighty Dream Claire? He watched as she turned to leave, bidding him goodnight... twice? Wait, since when did she call him Luke? Or maybe Dream Claire had always called him Luke. Maybe he talked with Dream Claire all the time. He never was very good at remembering his dreams.
He would stand in the gym for a while longer looking somewhat forlorn before finally deciding to head back to his room. As much fun as jumping off the building sounded, he wasn't feeling like a particularly adventurous dreamer.
Lucas would indeed wake up the next morning in his pajamas in his bed, but he would have a strangely vivid memory of the dream from the previous night.
