As always, Professor Tailor paced the room while they worked, watching them and grinning hugely, amused by some efforts and impressed by others but always giving the impression that he was laughing at them and never -- not even once -- stepping in to lend a hand when they struggled. Several of the students seemed to be struggling more than others, or not really putting the effort in, and that made his grin fade and flicker out. He took a moment to take note of those who hadn't finished their work and then stepping back to the front of the class.
One loud clap rang through the room to stop any lingering conversation and draw all eyes to him. He grinned out at them again, rolling his shoulders and sweeping a hand over his own hair. Briefly, Professor Tailor entertained the idea of concocting a costume of his own, but decided he might be embarrassed by his efforts in comparison to some of theirs.
"Look around at your transformed classmates! Take a look at what was most successful and what was least." He paused to let them peer around in a circle, his posture relaxed, his own eyes hidden behind the solid black of his glasses.
"Some of you have excelled. I'd like everyone to take a look at how Riley and Malodore have taken advantage of their natural traits and enhanced them instead of trying to change them entirely; the completeness of Christof's construction, taking advantage of his own shape; Jack's commitment to his role, even if he hasn't really bothered with much of a real costume." He raised an eyebrow over his lenses at that, pointing at Jack-B. It was a little critical.
"All of you have done a very good job taking advantage of what you have. I see quite a few monsters: understandably the easiest to mimic, since there are so many options, but I appreciate the mummy efforts as well. And Calder..." He paused for a moment, considering, and then made a noise. "Good use of natural abilities."
"It's always best to use what you have on your person as well as what you have in front of you, and to dedicate some effort into getting in character. I hope you all learned something from this." And with that, class was about finished; he gestured vaguely toward the pile of things at the front of the room, and offered them a softer flash of a smile.
"Put everything away. For next class, I'd like everyone to bring in five items you have around your dorms or around the school, that could be used to accent a disguise. Also come up with some creative way you would use it to change your appearance." He rolled his shoulders, and then went to hunt through his desk for bags to get the place cleaned up.
"We'll talk more about acting next class, because this is also an important part of changing yourself. But for now, you can all get out of here!"
And with that, they were dismissed.
((I'm going to try to get the next class written up for Feb 17, so be ready with homework around then!))

Malodore opened its beak in a smile at the Professor's praise - that made it worth being dressed up in an awkward array of wooden swords! It glanced in Riley's direction and tried to think at her, subtly - It seems we have done well! One more step towards world domination? it added, trying to fit a sense of teasing into the thought.
It was already pondering what it would do for homework as it carefully untangled itself from Riley's concoction.

Despite the teasing, Riley looked triumphant. Malodore, every step I take is one step towards domination. She purred, reaching up to disentangle the wings from it's long shoulder spikes. Careful, She murmured gently, lifting them up before removing them. Wouldn't want a wardrobe malfunction.
She helped it with the other wing, before she began pulling off her own outfit. The wig absolutely came first, followed by the bra. Her tentacles unfurled altogether, and she shook her head, running her hand through them. That had been.. a touch uncomfortable. A soft vibration of thought emitted from her as she released them, clearly pleased at how it felt to be free again.
Her mind wandered to the assignment, and she found herself coming up empty. There wasn't much in her dorm that she felt she could use for a disguise.. except the extra cloth she had stashed away from when she was sewing her skirt. That was only one thing, though.. five? Could a book be used as a disguise? She knew she would have quite a time trying to figure out what to bring.
She removed the other pieces of her costume slowly, leaving the bandages for last. She tugged on one of them around her arm, quirking her head at it. Hmm. She held her arm up, turning it around as she inspected it. I kind of don't want to take these off. They make us match.

((Hey guys!! I'm trying to revamp how classes work a bit, to make them more 'stand alone' and easier to manage both for me and for you guys, so I'm actually reworking a lot of stuff. As a result, this might take me a little longer, but I'll try to get something new up soon!))
