She considered then nodded. "Alright, but only for a few minutes, and the first hint of slime on my feathers and I'm gone!"

"I'll be right behind you," Sonja assured the other female before turning her grin on her constant companion. "Well Aydan, you feeling brave today?"
"I'd feel better if we weren't going headfirst into danger," the stallion said lightly.
"Then how would you have us go into it?" Sonja laughed diving towards the inky water and foggy marshes.

Valika spiraled down a bit more cautiously, not for fear of what lived in the swamp, but because of muck.

Aydan landed beside the females, frowning slightly as his hooves made a squishing sound as they sunk into the marsh, "Velika might have had a point about the swamp."
"If we're just reasonably careful," Sonja said stepping lightly over the ground. "We should be more than fine and get so see some new sights along the way. What could be better?"

"A little water fixes everything," Sonja said cheerfully bounding from dryish spot to...somewhat dryish spot. "So we found the mud and the sludge, let's see what else is around here."
Aydan pulled up his hooves with a sickening 'pop' sound, "I'm going to guess more mud?"

Sonja just laughed, "Listen to the two of you. Come on, guys, it really isn't that bad. Once you get over the smell, it's....well it's at least interesting..." she carefully trotted towards a crack in the ground from which seemed to seep a wispy, and somewhat pungent vapor. "This is very interesting..."
"Sonja, be careful..." Aydan said trotting, and occasionally tripping, after her.

"Oh come on, you two," the mare said turning her head to look back at the others. "You worry far too much and will drive yourselves into an early gave..." Just then she heard a loud POP sound and a moment later felt a rush of heat rise up in front of her. "Woah!" Sonja stumbled back and saw the flair (which just lasted a second or two) flash before her eyes.
"Early gave?" Aydan echoed eying Sonja to make sure she was not singed.

"It's awesome!" Sonja grinned now back on her feet and edging closer to the vent with a mischievous glint in her eyes. "Smells disgusting, but did you see what it did!"
