Embry smiled as she listened to him explain about his den. He put so much time and effort into it. She found in charming. "It must have taken you a long time to gather everything together here....It's very impressive Boni...." She smiled as she snuggled down into the moss, closing her eyes.
"You keep mentioning your father.....Would you mind terribly if i asked you about him?" She peeked open an eye to look at him. The last thing she wanted to do was upset him, but she'd be lying if she said she wasn't curious about the people that raised Boni.

Boniface's smile took on a slightly sad cast. "Dad was pretty much all I had. He raised me, from birth to hatching to becoming an adult. Probably the reason I'm still alive today. A blind kit wouldn't last long in the world on their own."
His face took on a different expression. If his eyes had worked it would have been an expression like he wasn't seeing what was in front of him. Lost in thought. "Dad had a rougher life than me in some ways. A lot was taken away from him."

Embry felt a tug in her chest. It felt like someone was gripping her heart. She hated seeing Boni looking so sad. She needed to do something, anything. She stood up and slowly walked over to him, not wanting her actions to come off as inappropriate. She tried to think of something that might comfort him in a friendly manner. At a loss she followed her instincts and leaned in nuzzling his neck softly.
"I'm so sorry Boni...." She whispered gently, "But.....I am glad that he chose to raise you....because it means that we get to be friends now." She smiled softly.

Boniface relaxed, his expression gentler as he dipped his head down to nuzzle the top of Embry's head. "I'm glad too. Misfortunate events seem to run in my family, but there's always a bit of silver lining in there somewhere." The only thing Boniface worried about, possibly the reason he'd lived alone for so long, was he didn't want his misfortune to affect others. He didn't think he could stand it if something were to happen to Embry.

Embry beamed. She had done the right thing to comfort Boni. It was a comfort to her, knowing that she could help him even if it was in a small way. She could already feel his body begin to relax, which was good. He seemed too tense most of the time, and she wanted him to be able to loosen up and feel relaxed around her.
"Mm..." She looked up at him and smiled, blushing lightly as he nuzzled her back. A warm glow spread throughout her body, something she could only describe as happiness. Boni made her happy, happier then she could ever remember being. "I'm sorry about your family Boni..."
She snuggled up beside him, nuzzling his neck softly. "But you don't have to worry....I won't let anything misfortunate happen to you again if i can help it." She smiled.

A light chuckle made his body vibrate a bit. "I'm not worried about me. All the unfortunate stuff that can happen to me has already happened." Boniface's voice dropped into an almost whisper. "I'm worried about others getting hurt. If it's just me I'm fine, but how could I live with myself knowing I brought harm on someone I cared about?"

Embry tilted her head up and looked at him, "You wouldn't bring harm to anyone Boni...." She smiled and licked his nose, "If something bad were to happen to anyone you cared about....it wouldn't be your fault." She curled her tail around him, "Sometimes bad things happen.....It isn't anyone's fault...It's just the way life is..." She smiled, "But we can't dwell on those events....it's better to just be happy with the time we have......have fun...." She nuzzled his head.

Boniface sighed and sat there, letting Embry comfort him. "If you're around I can almost believe it," he said, mind still drifting. "Remind me to tell you the story someday. Not today, today is for resting. Tomorrow for catching up. Someday I'll tell you the story though."
Boniface lightly exhaled, his breath ruffling the fur on top of Embry's head. "You should maybe nap now, I'm sure you're tired. I'll be right here when you wake up."

Embry giggled, "Alright...." She nuzzled him once last time, "I am tired....I think I'll take a little nap..." She shook her head lightly, the breath on her giving her a small tickle. She smiled and pulled away, reluctantly of course. She had gotten used to the warmth of his body.
Sighing softly she laid on the mossy ground and closed her eyes as she placed her head on her front paws. "What are you going to do Boni?" She asked sleepily.

"Sit here, keep an ear open to make sure nothing comes around that shouldn't," came Boniface's voice through Embry's haze of sleep. There was a short pause, and then softer words sounded. "Unless you would like me to join you."

Embry's mouth quirked up into a small smile, that sounded like Boni. Even with the handicap of his blindness he would protect them both to the best of his ability no matter what. She found that charmingly endearing about him. "Hm...." Her ears perked up at the soft words that followed. Her small smile morphed into a full on grin.
"I think I would like that very much...." She whispered shyly, heat collecting at her cheeks.

There was another moment of silence. Then a light depression of vegitation being stepped on. With the soft moss and even the dried flowers being fairly soft, Boniface's footsteps barely made any sound. One of his paws lightly touching against Embry's side, and his tail ghosted over her waist. Satisfied he knew her position Boniface arranged himself on the moss next to her, lying long-ways rather than curled up.

Embry smiled, she could feel the heat of his body radiating off him, and she instinctively moved toward it. She hoped he wouldn't mind a small bit of contact so she nuzzled against his side, then laid her head on his back instead of her paws. This new position was actually more comfortable then her previous one, and soon after she began to feel the lure of sleep tugging at her consciousness.
Smiling softly, she made a soft noise of contentment.

Boniface also smiled. He could feel Embry's contentment in the relaxed set of her muscles and from that sigh. A sudden feeling of protectiveness swept over him. He curled his tail around to mold to Embry's body, sharing more warmth, and placed his own head on his paws. His body stretched out a bit and he also felt his muscles relaxing. Still, he kept both of his ears upright and trained towards the den entrance.

She couldn't remember a time she had been so happy, so relaxed. She nuzzled against him, as she felt his tail fall over her like a blanket.
"Mm..." She completely relaxed against Boni, knowing she couldn't be safer. The last thoughts that crossed her mind as she fell into the oblivion of sleep was how she was ever going to be able to leave him behind when she went back to her tribe. But that was something she would think about in the morning, for right now she would just soak up every minute she could.
